HHi had to reload windows edit still in tact on timeline but says off line how do I recover footage to time line

When you import media into Premiere Elements, what you get are copies of the originals. But those copies embedded in the project file need to trace back to the originals at the hard drive save location of the originals when they were imported into the project. If you move, delete, or rename those originals after the project is saved/closed, then you are in for some nasty media reconnect issues.
Your first choice is to reconnect the sources with the "Where is the file....?" message "one by one", hoping that you might get lucky and get more reconnects beyond one at a time and one message at a time.
Do you have all of the originals that went into the project?
You could also look at the Replace Footage feature which will reconnect and maintain the edits previously applied in the project.

Hey I Lost my phone yesterday I tracked it through the find my iphone app. It pops up but says offline. phone is still receiving calls it rings 4 times then goes to voicemail, so I know its on. anyone have any ideas?

Did you have the passcode lock enabled?
If not, someone can turn Cellular Data off which prevents find my iPhone from working or someone can turn find my iPhone off with the account settings on the iPhone. Either one doesn't prevent the iPhone from placing and receiving calls.

Trying to drag photo into iMovie project, It shows the correct picture in the time line but plays the adjacent picture in the viewer ?

While iMovie is NOT RUNNING - move this/these file/s out on to desk-top.
Now restart iMovie.
If You run Mac OS X.7 or more - then the Library in the User-account folder is invisibly and need to be set to be viewable. IT IS NOT in the Library on Root level (when opening MacintoshHD - first window = root level)
( It can be done like this: Open Terminal, then enter: chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press return, then restart, and it will always be visible until the next major update, when you do the same thing again. )

Have a new imaq apple migrated all info from old line but my cs3 gets an error message

The message when I tried to open CS3 is that Licensing for this product expired. Appears my version for CS3 is an upgrade from my old CS2 which I no longer have. Adobe chat, after many hours says that without the original CS2 cd try dragging from my version to the desktop and try from there. Problem now is it gets same error BUT cannot eject cd as its says PS in use.
Cannot seem to quit as cannot find an open PS
What key on restart do I press.

Migration assistant doesn't move all the necessary files.
You really need to reinstall your Adobe apps on the new system to get all the support files in the right place (and with the right permissions).

Clip info on time line

Is there a way to turn off or edit the clip info (clip name) in the timeline? Can't find it in the manual.

Indeed there is a way to toggle Video Clip names as well as Audio Clip names on the timeline.
At the bottom left corner, between the track height selector and the timeline zoom control, is a little button with a right-pointing triangle, click that and you'll see the following popup menu:

The 2 items you want to uncheck are "Show Video Clip Names" and "Show Audio Clip Names".
However, there is no way to edit clip information directly on the timeline.

Lost iPod touch few days ago. Tried the locater through iCloud but it says offline. I am assuming the power is off. Anyideas to locate it

When it is off, it cannot recieve any signal. So sending a signal would not help.

Time Line Marker Not Moving in Playback

New to Premiere Elements 10
After I put video clips on time line then edit the clips adding titles and transitions the time line marker won't move when I play back video clips.
Video monitor shows video playing but red time lime marker is not moving on time line.
I know I clicked on the wrong button somewhere but I don't know where to look.
The Help has a lot of info about the the Time Line but I can't find anything about its movment.

No improvement in responsiveness of AVC/AVCHD footage on time-line, in CC

The header says it all. No apparent difference between CS6 and CC, in this respect. Too bad....
Anyone wishing to test this claim, simply lay down a few minutes of relatively short AVC-I or AVCHD clips on the time-line, then go to the start, hold down the "down" arrow for a few seconds, and note the delay before the recorder window updates and displays the correct frame. Then do the same thing again, perhaps in the opposite direction.
Eventually, the system will become more responsive, as you run through the entire time-line, but that improved responsiveness won't last.

On a side note, that's actually called the Program Monitor in Premiere Pro, not the recorder window.

Have keyframes in effect controls window coincide with main time line

Hello,
Is there any way I can have the time line in my effects control window coincide with my main time line ?
Example, I add keyframes along my main time line, but any time I wish to edit them, I need to scrub my effect controls window timeline to get to that
spot that coincides on the main time line. I'm just wondering how I can have both time lines show the same area at the same time.
So if I'm at the end of my time line, and add a keyframe, and then wish to just scrub or move my cursor to the beginning of my main time line, the
time line in the upper window ( effects control window ) does not reflect the area of the main time line I am currently at, I need to actually click the time time
line ( main time line ) in order to "refresh" the upper effect control window time line.

Adding Marker to the time line

I want to add markers to the entire video on the time line but i have alot of scenes over 100 i want to mark the scenes at the begaining
can this be done with out doing this one at a time
is there a add on like vegas pro are can i do it in cs5 or encore

Multiple Audio with in a single Time Line

I understand that a single time line can contain multiple audios (dubbed voices, foreign languages, director's commentary, etc). And when I do this, I can hit the "Audio" button on my DVD remote and the audio will change seemlessly while viewing the movie. This is desirable because you don't have to render several time lines of the same video. I'm trying to achieve this very thing - in order to reserve as much space on my DVD/Blu-Ray for the feature presentation. Here's my actual question.
Now that I have this single timeline with 2 audios, I want my menu buttons to interact with these different audios. I want my "PLAY FEATURE" button on the main menu to play my main time line with audio #1. Then I want my "DIRECTOR'S COMMENTARY" button in the Bonus Menu to play the same time line, but with audio #2 this time. Is there a way to make Encore do this?
I was hoping there was a way to "group" that time line with the 2 audios in that they each create their own asset in the project panel (and can be linked via pick-whip), but each asset uses the same main timeline, just different audio.

I'm not sure what your question is there, and this may be clearer to you in reading the above section of help. But the timeline (with the video asset) must have both audior tracks, or there is no savings in creating two timelines, for each audio, but each then also requiring instances of the video.

1080i and 720p mixed time line

I asume that that you can have mixed formats on the time line but one format will have to be rendered each time its added the the t/l. the formats are 1080i amd 720p.

No...they are both 16:9. Just resize the other to match.
Best to capture one in the other format if possible, to avoid rendering.

Any time Final Cut Express must perform more calculations than your computer can handle in real time, you need to render. Rendering is the process of creating temporary video and audio render files for segments of your sequence that Final Cut Express cannot play in real time. When you render a segment of your sequence, Final Cut Express substitutes a render file for the segment during playback. Render status bars above the ruler in the Timeline indicate which sections can play back in real time and which segments require rendering. To render just click on the sequence menu and select render selection then click both.

What is your operating system?
Is it version Photoshop Elements 13?
Did you use a redemption code to get a serial number?
Did you sign in/activate?

Can anyone help. I need to reuse my SDHC cards and transfer footage from an ongoing profect to a hard drive. Can i edit from the Hard drive or am I better transferring info striaight from camera to time line

Hi I am using a JVC GY-HM100 camera which is meant to work well with final cut pro. I have an ongoing project but need to save money and resuse the SDHC cards that are currently full of footage.
Would I be better off transferring the footage straight to the time line (as rumour has it you can do this with this camera) or store the footage on a hard drive and edit it later without risk of losing the footage.

Here's some more info for you:
This is my pet checklist for questions regarding FCP X performance - you may have already addressed some of the items but it's worth checking.
Check the spec of your Mac against the system requirements:

Make sure you're using the latest version of the application - FCP X 10.0.3 runs very well on my 2009 MacPro 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 16 GB RAM and ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB. I run it with Lion 10.7.3.
Check that you have at least 20% free space on your system drive.
If you have not already done so, move your Projects and Events to a fast (Firewire 800 or faster) external HD. Make sure the drive's formatted OS Extended (journalling's not required for video). You should always keep at least 20% free space on the Hard Drives that your Media, Projects and Events are on.
If you are getting crashes, there is some conflict on the OS. Create a new (admin) user account on your system. Do NOT import any of the settings etc from the old account - simply use FCP X from there - if it runs a lot better, there's a conflict and a clean install would be recommended - but remember, if you reinstall the system, and then use Migration Assistant (or anything else) to import all your old settings etc etc, you may well be importing the cause of the conflict in the first place.
Keep projects to 20 mins or less (about half that for Multicam). If you have a long project, work on short sections, make them into Compound Clips and then paste these into a final project for export.
If you ever experience dropped frames, I strongly recommend you use ProRes 422 Proxy - it edits and plays back like silk because the files are small but lightly compressed (not much packing and unpacking to do) - but remember to select 'Original or Optimised Media' (FCP X Preferences > Playback) just before you export your movie, otherwise it will be exported at low resolution.
If you have plenty of processor power, for the ultimate editing experience, create Optimised Media - most camera native files are highly compressed and need a great deal of processor power to play back - particularly if you add titles, filters or effects. ProRes 422 takes up much more hard drive space but is very lightly compressed. It edits and plays back superbly.
Hide Audio Waveforms at all times when you don't need them (both in Browser and Storyline / Timeline). They take up a lot of processor power. (Use the switch icon at the bottom-right of your timeline to select a format without waveforms if you don't need them at the moment, then switch back when you do).
Create folders in the Project and Events libraries and put any projects you are not working on currently, in those folders. This will help a lot. There's a great application for this, called Event Manager X - for the tiny cost it's an invaluable application.

Unless you cannot edit and playback without it, turn off Background Rendering in Preferences (under Playback) - this will help general performance and you can always render when you need to by selecting the clip (or clips) and pressing Ctrl+R.
The biggest single improvement I saw in performance was when I upgraded the RAM from 8 GB to 16.
