Info package issue in Production system?

Hi experts,
I would like to know about the scenerio of info packages in production system.
1) When the objects are transported to production system,
Do we use the same info packages in the prod system,which are used to schedule the load in development system.
2) Do we create new infopackages everytime for the data load in production system?. Please let me know about this.
3) In my case when I schedule the infopackage which are transported to prod system are asking for request number. Is it normal?. I mean everytime we schedule, will it ask for request number in prod system.?
Please let me know the normal procedure as to how to load the data in prod system(Standard Procedure Which is followed by all developer's to load the data)

Ans : The choice is yours.In our system we create infopackages directly in production.Its just flexibility for us.
2) Do we create new infopackages everytime for the data load in production system?. Please let me know about this.
Ans : Infopackages are reusuable but if they are used in process chains its better to create new ones as it will affect the associated process chain.

Ans : Yes its normal to ask request number but in development system.

Hi Shilpa,
If you have the necessary authorisations, you can create InfoPackages in Production. However, it is always preferable to transport them from Development in order to maintain synchronisation between the systems.
As an example, imagine if you're transporting a Process Chain from Dev. to Production. In this case, if you've created an InfoPackage directly in Production, the technical names of the InfoPackages in the Process Chain and those in the Production system wont match and you wont be able to activate the process chain unless you transport the InfoPackage from Development.
However, if you need to create an ad-hoc InfoPackage or there is some sort of urgency, you can create the InfoPackage in Production itself.

SAP Product issue in 'Product System' tcode SMSY

In the process to create the new 'Product system' for SAP Product 'SAP ERP 6.0', system is not accepting any installation number (because of grey mode) but If i choose the SAP Product ' SAP Netweaver', i can assign Installation number for ECC server.
When i'm selecting Product 'SAP ERP 6.0' for new product system, i'm getting the Product version 'SAP ERP 6.0 01' .
as per our license policy, we have to use 'SAP ERP 6.0' as the SAP Product .
any idea about to fix it or if i'm missing something?
We are using SAP EHP1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 and SAP ECC 6.0 for ECC server landscape.

Memory issues on Production system

Hello,
We are facing memory dumps and slow SAP performance on our PRODUCTION ECC EHP4 system.
Many work process also goes to PRIV mode frequently
But we have very good response Time also.
I checked ST06 and see,
CPU Idle % = 40%
IO wait % = 16%
CPU count = 8
Number of request waiting to get processed in
1 Min = 7
5 Min = 6
15 Min = 6
We have Physical memory = 50GB
Free Memory only = 300 MB
We have following parameter set in RZ10
em/initial_size_MB = 4 GB
ztta/roll_extension = 2 GB
abap/heap_area_dia = 5GB
abap/heap_area_nondia = 5GB
abap/heap_area_total = 10 GB
rdisp/wp_no_dia 20
rdisp/wp_no_btc 8

Issue in production system

In BWP, we now get an abap dump when using tcode rsa11.... this is after
transport of new ods object zrebudget. The BWD and BWT clients are ok,
so I don't know why BWP is bad.

EVS Input Field Issue in Production System.

Dear Experts,
In my WD Java application I'm Using Input Field and EVS to get the data as key value pair but the moment i click on input field to select the data entire back ground screen of portal iview getting blank, only EVS popup is visible.
Same Application working fine on my test system, but it production its making portal backend screen blank.
PS; My both Test and Porductoin Portal version is NW 7.0 SP20.
Any help would greatly appricated.

How to identify the info package deleted by someone in process chain?

I can see a couple of info packages were deleted in the production system and it was removed from the process chain too!!

Can you is there any transport available with the Infopackage deletion activity?
in SE01 you can check in production system and check if your IPAK is stored in it or not..? IF yes then you can check the user.
Also you can track is there any deletion transport has come from D to P or Q to P? Can you check whether the IPAK is available in D and Q?
Also you can check the process chain recent modified by in RSPC and check if there is any user details were captured?
OR you can also look at in transaction SLG1. Check for the logs..

Status of Info packages and process changes become yellow after Unicode con

Dear Friends,
We have been facing very critical issue in Production system after Unicode conversion.
Sequences of Details are provided for your reference.
1. We suspended all BW loads for 48(2 days) hours before Unicode starts and Handover the BW system to Basis.
2. Basis started doing Unicode conversion on BW and they found some standard jobs ( BI_* , Ex: BI_PROCESS_LOADING) which are released status and they assumed that these jobs would run any time so that they suspended all of them but they didnu2019t inform to BW team that they had done. We didnu2019t know that when they did that like pre-Unicode installation, during the Unicode conversion and post Unicode.
3. Basis handover the system to BW team for Unicode testing (we called five finger testing) and we didnu2019t find any issues in the testing. Again we handover the system to Basis for post installations settings for Unicode and back up things. That time we didnu2019t release any jobs to load data to BW because Basis didnu2019t inform us that we can start loads.
4. After post installation is done and basis told us that you can start loads from Monday. Entire Unicode activity had been done on weekend.
5. Before releasing all BW loads to run regularly, I found the all completed process chains status become yellow and I did further detailed analysis to find why; then found some more strange things those are as follows.
          1. Only info packages in process chains are become yellow and other process variants are fine like activation,
               DTPu2019s, index and DB stats.
          2. Requests in PSA which were completed successfully are become yellow.
          3. Info packages in the process chains are successfully completed are not updating correct status instead of green it
              showing yellow because of that other dependent objects are not triggering.
We all thought that suspension of standard jobs must have been caused the problem.
How can we change the status of IPs, PSA and process chains automatically?
We reactivate all PCu2019s and released to run tomorrow.
Could you please share your thoughts about the issue and help us resolve?

A couple of questions :
1. If your previous PC runs were in yellow status - it would not impact furute PC runs..
2. If your IPAKs are in yellow - then you might have an issue with deltas happening since the last status would have been shown as incomplete.
3. Suspension of the standard jobs will not affect the status since the jobs were suspended but not the actual loads i.e the loads were not stopped halfway but only the released jobs were stopped - you might have to schedule the process chains again to get back the old schedule.
Usually in a Unicode conversion - the data is exported out of the DB and imported back - this might have caused some inconsistency in the database for the RS tables used for the monitors.
Which version of BW are you in ..?
were there any errors in the export / import procedure for unicode conversion ?
As part of testing did you check if loads went through properly ..?
Was stats run on the tables after unicode ?
Also if possible regenerate all the indices on the files.
Rerun stats and indices for all RS* tables

Print layout - Goods issue & Issue for Production

I designed two print layouts separately 1 in Goods issue for Goods issue in inventory module
and 1 in Issue for production for Issue for production in production module.
If i take a print preview or print in Issue for production , it will reflects the print layout designed in Goods issue.

I think, are you duplicate the Goods issue PLD Template to Issue for Production PLD Template on Duplicate Layout Template.
Best, Try to create a New PLD from Issue for Production(System) PLD.

Error while adding the issue for production (item cost not found)

Hi all,
The scenario is,
when the user is trying to add the issue for production system is showing error item cost not
found.The item which is issued is Inventory + purchase item with manual issue method.The valuation
method for that item is FIFO.since the valuation method is FIFO,error related to item cost should
not occur.
Since the valuation method is FIFO.Item cost error should not occur.
The error related to item cost must not occur at the time of issue for production.

Performing SPAU in Production System

Dear Team,
We are in the process of upgrading our Production system from EHP3 to EHP7.
We upgraded our Quality system with SPDD and SPAU transport requests from Development system and it finished successfully.
But after upgrading our Kernel in Production system and before performing the EHP7 upgrade, we applied two SAP notes in Production system, these notes were transported from our temporary development(un-upgraded) system(parallel landscape).
While performing the EHP upgrade in Production system, SUM has prompted us the below message
“Decide about Incomplete Modification Transport”
CAUTION: The program has found the transport "MEDK906662"(our SPAU transport) for SPAU but it does not contain all objects which need adjustment.
When we checked the log file it show that two objects are missing in the SPAU transport.We suspect these are the SAP Notes which we applied after kernel upgrade and are missing in SPAU transport request.
Please let me know how we can correct this issue in Production system. I know that SPAU will appear in Production system, but will the system allow me to re-apply/reset the SAP note in SPAU as this system will be un-modifiable.

Client setting-> select client -> Automatic recording of changes, changes to repository and cross-client customising allowed, protection level 0.
If that doesn't work, give yourself SAPALL and try again.
If that doesn't work, contact SAP because something is messed up. I've successfully applied notes in P systems during upgrade. Including ones that modify SAP_APPL.

Issue withe Info Package Selection for the CRM Datasource

Hello,
I have a custom CRM data-source which has the Selection option as CRM-GUID as the Selection option in the RSA3.
I have replicated the Same Data-source in BI system and Created the Info Package ,but i could not see that GUID Selection in the Info Package.
To Be Noted:
I went to RSA6 enabled the selection option( check Box ) , there is no hide option in the datasource , only the Selection option check box is enabled in the RSA6 .
Replicated again , and activated again , logged out and logged in again . But the Info Package does not show the CRM - GUID selection option.
I found something not sure this might be the issue:
1) The Data type is RAW with length 16.
2) The Datasource in the BI side has SS conversion Routine Blank for this field and the Selection has X.
But no Selection option in the Info Package.
Any suggestion and inputs are welcome.

This seems like a pretty serious issue. We have a production system up where we cannot limit PORTAL MADE REPORTS to a certain number a page. Users CANNOT click a NEXT button. We have found no way to eliminate the NEXT button on a Calendar.
We need a workaround before Feb 9.

BW 2.0B, info package selection, cant use two system variable for 0CALMONTH

Hi Experts,
I am working on BW 2.0B in APO system. There is an info package for which I want to supply two selection value for 0CALMONTH as equal to current month and last month. System variables 0CMONTH (for current month) and 0CMLMON (for last month) are available but I am not able to use them both.
If I change the variable in one selection, it automatically changes the other one too, making both the selection as same variable.
Can you suggest any solution/idea?
