Hello,
I need to add my new ipod to itunes.
itunes will only show the old, dead ipod that my niece had given me secondhand.
I just got a new one and want to put in it's serial number, etc. but keep the music.
Please help, I've been going around in circles online for hours. I don't want to merely change the name of the old ipod, which is the only info I can find.

Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
However it appears that no playlists or any other info such as ratings/last played etc will transfer.
If this is important to you, you may want to use other options.
There's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod to iTunes.
Once the music from your iPod is in your new iTunes library, you can go about adding new music as you did previously. -
I have dealt with this malicious spyware crap or whatevr its calld but it goes thruall of my apps reopens them whn they are closed as well as lockd changed emails passwords n passcodes n etc over 15 times n 2 weeks n also cleared evrything out of my phne and had cellphne provider i paid them to clear out phne but still the apps were still in there. they have stolen evrything frm me and i do not knw what else to do??? i just started all ovr again today n used firefox n mozilla nstaead of all google becuz they have evrything to look just like the real thing like its watchn what i am doing right now. its taken all of my data n personal folders n files i had for over two years now n has taken all my contacts and personal info n emails n etc. please help wut d i use to make this nightmare end. they even pose as u guys now...jus withn mattr of hours.

I can first empathize with your situation, as loosing all personal data is one of my worst nightmares. Second, I understand that the situation now is that you have a mobile device with no data on it, but just the applications as well as Firefox for Android.
Please seek legal advice if this is a legal matter. Please make a back up of any data that you want to keep.
However in Firefox for Android there are two features I would recommend:
# Do not track is located in Settings > Privacy > Tracking, select "Do not tell sites anything about my tracking preferences"
#Clear data frequently from the same menu
As for the other applications on the phone, each app will have a permissions agreement, like Firefox for Android, where it will tell you what kind of data is shared or needs permissions in order to work properly.

I uploaded Firefox again, so I could work with Property-bee site, to show me sale history of property when in sites like Rightmove.co.uk. It worked when I first downloaded firefox and then property-bee. After switching my laptop off, then on again later that day - when i go to rightmove.co.uk, the history provided by Property-bee is no longer valid - and shows All houses as only being advertised on Today date. Please can this be sorted as soon as possible? There must be a box ticked-or not, that will allow the correct information to show?! Please advise?!

Macbook running incredibly slow - Etre Info - Please Help!
My Macbook has been running slow for quite sometime, and regardless of my internet provider, it is deathly slow to load. I have seen individuals post the Etre info, so I thought I would do the same. Not sure if this will help, but here's hoping! I understand this computer is quite old, just trying to get it back into fighting shape post college. Whether it is a hardware upgrade (if possible) or some software tweaks I'm fine with that. Thank you for the help in advance!

Windows 7, had to change user profile, lost all my Thunderbird info. please help.
Worm or virus caused me to have to change my user profile in Windows 7. I have everything back looking more or less like it did before this disaster on my computer and I am once again able to get into Internet Explorer but when I go to my Thunderbird email, it is as if I have never used it before and it wants me to set it all back up again. All contacts are gone and all my old emails etc. How can I proceed to try to fix this problem?
I just hope you know what you're doing. How those registry manipulations would eliminate a virus infection is a miracle to me. Having said that, viruses are rare today, being infected with some sort of malware is much more likely.
In any case, this is what we have so far:
The old Windows account is underneath 'C:\users\john'.
The new Windows account is underneath 'C:\users\john.john-pc'.
There is an 'appdata\roaming\thunderbird folder in both Windows accounts.
Please confirm.
Also, in the 'john' Windows account there is a Thunderbird profile 'C:\users\john\appdata\roaming\thunderbird\wmekpsyz.default'.
It has a date of /1/29/2015. This would indicate it's a rather new profile. Can you confirm this is your old Thunderbird profile? If so, it should contain all your mail.
What Thunderbird profile do you see underneath 'C:\users\john.john-pc\appdata\roaming\thunderbird?
Can you post the contents of the file profiles.ini for both Windows accounts? -
Cannot Alpha Order a Single Column of Info - PLEASE HELP
I'm an expert on Excel and recently switched to a Mac and am now using Numbers. It should be simple to alpha order a single column of words, but after three days I can't get any options to work.
When I try to sort just the column and select just the column name and just the selected cells it sorts the entire spreadsheet over and over again. Instant alpha is grayed out an unusable from the Format menu.

Welcome to Apple Discussion and the Numbers '09 forum.
Numbers considers all of the date in a row to be a set (in database terms, a record), and sorts accordingly.
Here are two ways to sort a single column:
1. Copy the data from the column, Paste into a single-column table (or an otherwise empty table with any number of columns), perform the sort, then copy the newly sorted data and paste it back into the original column.
2. Grab the column you wish to sort, tear it out of its table to form a new single column table. Sort, then drag it back into position and drop it back into the original table.
The second method requires some explanation, which you'll find on page 58 of the Numbers '09 User Guide, or in more detail, in this discussion from a few days ago. Scan the thread for this image, check that message and the ones below it.

Instant alpha refers to the alpha channel which may be added to a graphic object to create transparency. It's not connected with sorting text or numbers. More in the Numbers '09 User Guide under "Removing the Background or Unwanted Elements from an Image" in Chapter 9, _Working with Shapes, Graphics, and Other Objects_.
The numbers '09 User Guide, and its reference companion, the iWork formulas and Functions User Guide, are excellent resources, and well worth downloading and spending a bit of time with. They can be had through the Help menu in Numbers.

New Lenovo S10 Model Info Please

The features are the new splashtop or quickstart OS and the veriface security program. 1)The conditions (condition records)given through [FV11] / [MEK1] / [VK11] will be stored in Condition Tables with key combinations like plant,vendor,P.Orgn etc.
2)In Access Sequence Accesses will be defined with the concerned fields of key combinations.
3)These Acess sequences will be assigned to Condition Types for which we have defined conditions in step1.
4)These Condition Types will be placed in Calculation Schema / Pricing Procedure / Tax Procedure with required a/c keys etc.
5)This Calculation Schema / Pricing Procedure / Tax Procedure will be determined by the combination of Schema Group Vendor and Purchasing Orgn Schema for Calculation Schema and by Sales Area,Cust.Pric.Proc , Document Pric. Proc for Pricing Procedure etc.

Computer crashed - lost all - need info please

The iphones music and pic sync is one way - computer to iphone.
Your data should be backed up to an external source, as hard drives can and do fail. You can take your back-up data and put it on the new computer.
If you do not have back-up, you ay be able to save the music purchased from itunes by attaching iphone and clicking File>transfer purchases.
The iphone is not a storage device. -
Need Help/Info, Please!...regarding Jars & Gifs
Have a problem, sure could use some help :)
1st, Some Details:
1) Running on IE 5.0 and Netscape 6.2, both using java 1.4 plug-in.
2) Reading applet off of server, policy permissions on for filePermission read all and runtime thread permissions
3) All my files are in http://IPaddress/directory1/directory2 and include my applet classes and my jar files
4) several Jar files contain classes and one contains gif images. also have a directory with gif images.
2nd, The Problem:
I need to read gif image from directory (ex, images/*.gif) and set them up as labels. Tried using the following code to access directory and the buttons work, but no picture.

It now works. Unfortunately, I call a function (ex, makeToolBar()) from a class in one of my jar files. This function calls other function within the jar files and so on, to create a very elaborate tool bar. It gets the images from this tool bar using the relative address and not the URL. Is there anyway to fix this so the images will show up on this new tool bar?

</html>Don't put all the JAR files into one big JAR file!
You can have as many JAR files as you like. There's no (noticeable) size limit on a JAR. Put it this way - your JAR's gonna be no bigger than all the class files in it.
You don't have to have one for your Applet, but there are often compelling reasons to do so.
For a start, a browser will make a connection to the server for every class it needs to download. If you've got a lot of classes then that's a lot of overhead connecting and disconnecting with the server. A JAR file contains the same information and only requires one connection. That's an improvement for a start. Your JAR can be compressed too, thereby reducing the download time for the Applet. That can't be bad either.
If you put the images in with the code (or even in a separate JAR) then they can be loaded as local resources (from the JAR) without having to know about where the Applet came from.
Basically you're telling the JVM that there's some resources it should know about (eg, images.jar) and that if it gets asked for some sort of resource (a class file, an image, a text file, anything) then it should look in that JAR too.
Working with resources from the classpath is an absolute godsend once you've mastered it - no more having to hardcode directories!

I was taking a look at the microsoft site on ram and was wandering if on the cd on windows 98 and 98se if the line [386Enh] in the system.ini file is set to 960 = 1,006,632,960 = MaxPhysPage=3C000 or is it originally set to 512 = 536,870,912 = MaxPhysPage=20000.
I am hoping I could go beyond the 512 to 960 without making the mods. to the system.ini file but if I do then I will stick with the 512MB of Ram I love the Windows98SE but if some day they go where theese games will want to hog up that much memory then I will modd the file.
The reason I ask this question is because a friend of mine who recieved a new Pentium 2.?Ghz computer with 1GB of memory is having no lock ups or nothin but he did say that the guys down that gave him the computer where he bought it from that the manufature may have the newest windows 98se version they have out on it which would limit this to 1GB of ram some one verify that this windows days are still 512 for 98 and 98se Thanx for all who reply I apreesheate the info a lot but here are the links to more info on the situation I am having problems with.

Section 1: VCACHE
I hope everyone knows what this is already, but I’ve found that not everyone does so I will include this also.
Vcache is the Windows disk-caching virtual device driver. This is a very important part of Win98 as it provides excellent disk performance. Kill all your other disk-caching drivers if any (such as smartdrv), this one will do the trick.
Windows, however, limits vcache from it’s total potential. Here’s how to improve it…
Type ‘sysedit’ in your ‘start’ , ‘run’ dialog box and go to system.ini
Look for ‘[vcache]’
If you don’t have it add it and add the following:
MinFileCache=whatever you want
MaxFileCache=whatever you want
ChunkSize=whatever but I recommend keeping ‘512’
This is mine but I have 64 megs of ram.

That vcache is only for windows me there is a bug in it and you have to do that I have a friend that is wantinting to run his 98se at 1 gig so I told him about this and so he went ahead and did the setting change to the system.ini and restarted windows and all is well no problems and runs grate he loves the information on here but he did not add the vcache info because I told him that is for me edition so he did not add that but all works well thanx all for the lovely info thank you so much you all are life savers and time savers hehe... -
Several months back purchsed used MacMini 1.8 intel dual core with apple wireless bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
has worked fine
However I chose to use a wired Apple keyboard, with the Apple wireless mouse which has worked fine, no complaints..
Today: Low battery message today on the mouse..
Opened and found 2 Kirkland signature alkaline battery - also marked Pile Alkaline Format AA - term unknown to me
Best if used by Dec 2022
Apparently these are different than the regular alkaline batteries?
Is there a recharge process for the batteries? OR ???? How/what to do??
