Info! required on subscribing a Weblogic MDB to an Oracle AQ queue
Hi,
we are developing an event notification application and are planning to use Oracle AQ for message propagation, from Oracle DB(oracle 9i) to an application in WLS (Version 9.2). I's there any comprehensive tutorial on how to subscribe a MDB in weblogic to a Queue in AQ.
if any available please kindly reply to this posting.
thanks,
prakash
Did you ever receive information on MDB to AQ? I'm doing a very similar thing.

You need to add a valid payment method to the account. An iTunes gift card can be added.

I have an iPhone4s. When I install apps, I have to give my Apple password first. That’s okay. The last few apps I tried to download have opened another security window before they will install. The window says, “Security info Required. To help insure the security of your Apple ID we require additional information” When I select okay, the Apple ID Password window opens and asks for my Apple password a second time.
It doesn't happen with every app and I’m concerned that these apps may be trying to collent my password. Is Apple really doing a double check on my password?See http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57413072-37/apple-ratchets-up-app-store-securi ty/ and http://www.macrumors.com/2012/04/12/apple-enhancing-apple-id-safety-by-enforcing -security-question-requirements/.

Agreed! Much as I love Firefox, I hate it's lack of a splash screen. Every single program on the planet that has a GUI should have as it's very first action when started to show a small splash screen, just so the user knows the command to start has been accepted. This action should be set to High Priority, interrupting all other actions such as virus scans, other programs closing, downloads, file copies, etc. Once the Splash loads, the rest of the start-up process can return to Normal priority and load in it's proper OS managed sequence.
I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally ended up with three or four browser windows open because there's no indication that anything is happening. -

When I try to download an app on my Iphone 4s, something pops up saying "Security Info Required". Then below that it says "To help ensure the security of your Apple ID we require additional information". When I click Continue, It tells me to enter my Apple ID password. So I enter it. My Iphone then brings me to this screen that never loads and asks me to enter my Apple ID password again! So I enter my password again! The it asks me again and again and again! It never stops asking me to enter my Apple ID password. I know I'm not spelling it incorrectly because If I just type something random in, it will tell me I have entered my password wrong.
Please let me know what is wrong?
ThanksI updated some of my info via apple, mainly changing my password. I then went through the settings and signed out of store and resigned in with the new password.
Previosuly, everytime I tried to install an app the Request Secuity Info screen would pop up, I would fill it out and click done, and then it would reload and keep me at the same page. Finally, I would click cancel and try again and the whole thing repeated itself....
SO back to updating my password in the store, I installed an app, the security questions popped up AGAIN... but this time they saved my answers and proceeded to download my app. YAY -

Throttling MDB performance running against MQSeries queue
I have an unusual requirement for an application. We have a non-transactional MQSeries queue that is bound as a foreign JMS destination in client mode (thanks to the folks on the forum who helped me configure that!).
The problem is that the cluster that we are running our application on has limited capacity and I need to make sure that the MDB that will be listening to the queue does not surpass a certain TPS limit (say, 1 TPS). This article explains how to throttle performance using a separate execute thread -- http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/perform/AppTuning.html#1105201
However, this requires you to set the MDB's "dispatch-policy' attribute to the lower priority queue in ejb-jar.xml. However, the documentation on this attribute -- http://edocs.beasys.com/wls/docs81/ejb/DDreference-ejb-jar.html#1113605 -- indicates that this attribute is only honoured if the source queue is transactional in nature.
What to do? A transactional queue is a hard sell to our infrastructure folks. Can I use the extended transactional client and have this work?
FYI - using the max-beans-in-free-pool does not do a sufficiently good job of limiting performance.
Any other ideas?another possibility might be the following scenario:
create a local jms-destination, maybe with a jdbc-store.
then use the weblogic bridge to transfer messages into the local jms-queue.
at this point you can configure flow-control for the connection factory
to limit transferred messages.
the problem in this case is, that unprocessed messages have to be stored
on the application server or in the database.
but maybe this can help you.

Configuring Weblogic's jDriver for Oracle to use in distributed transactions
Here is some errata to the instructions at "Configuring XA JDBC drivers" section of the online beta documentation:
http://www.weblogic.com/docs60/adminguide/managetx.html#1041268
The sample JDBC connection pool using Weblogic jDriver for Oracle should be:
<JDBCConnectionPool
Name="fundsXferAppPool"
Targets="myserver"
URL="jdbc:weblogic:oracle:localdb"
DriverName="weblogic.jdbc.oci.xa.XADataSource"
InitialCapacity="0"
MaxCapacity="5"
CapacityIncrement="1"
Properties="user=scott;password=tiger;server=localdb;rmid=0"
/>
<JDBCTxDataSource
Name="fundsXferDataSource"
Targets="myserver,server1"
JNDIName="myapp.fundsXfer"
PoolName="fundsXferAppPool"
/>
Here is an example of an additional XA connection pool for a second database instance:
<JDBCConnectionPool
Name="fundsXferAppPool2"
Targets="myserver"
URL="jdbc:weblogic:oracle:localdb2"
DriverName="weblogic.jdbc.oci.xa.XADataSource"
InitialCapacity="0"
MaxCapacity="5"
CapacityIncrement="1"
Properties="user=scott;password=tiger;server=localdb2;rmid=1"
/>
<JDBCTxDataSource
Name="fundsXferDataSource2"
Targets="myserver,server1"
JNDIName="myapp.fundsXfer2"
PoolName="fundsXferAppPool2"
/>
Please note the different "rmid" values for the 2 different database instances. Note also that the above sample only applies for Beta 1. Instructions may change in the future for Beta 2.
Also, all the names of the data source properties shown in "Table 8-2 Data Source Properties for WebLogic jDriver for Oracle" should start with lower case.
The Beta 1 online documentation will soon be updated to reflect the above. Our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

JDBC CONNECTION POOL FOR WEBLOGIC 8.1 TO ORACLE 8.1.6
I am having problems with my connection pool. When I try to use the classes12 driver I get periodic TNS:connection closed errors and I can not set my initial pool size very high because one will fail with this error. When I try to use the ojdbc14 driver I get a character set not supported error. I am using the nls_charset12.jar file
I am running weblogic 8.1 sp2. I am connecting to an Oracle 8.1.6 database.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, thanks for your assistance. Here is the log dump.You should add a 1-second login delay for the pool. (loginDelaySeconds=1).
Oracle can get swamped and ocasionally fail valid connection requests if
too many are sent in a short time, such as when a pool is being initially
populated. This setting will put a delay between successive connection
requests, and should solve the problem.

Why getting WebLogic Connection when using Oracle Driver?
Does anyone know why I would be getting back an instance of weblogic.jdbc.rmi.SerialConnection
when retrieving a connection out of the connection pool, via my JDBC TX DataSource,
when my JDBC Connection pool is configured to use oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver. Seems
that since I'm using the Oracle driver I should not be getting back this WebLogic
connection.
Any insight is appreciated :)

our wrapper will cheerfully ignore if application code calls a Connection.commit().
The
application code has no idea really when the transaction is done and
commitable, only
the transaction coordinator does. Most simply, our pools guarantee that
whatever
application reserves a pool connection will have sole use of it until
they close the connection
to return it to the pool. If we allowed direct access to a pooled connection,
one application
could cache the reference, and re-use it later when we presumed to allow
another user to
use it from the pool. Some of our wrapper objects are RMI-enabled so
they work in
external client JVMs and will do JDBC over the wire to the weblogicserver
and it's
pool connections. This wayt application code need not change to work
inside or
outside weblogic.
I suspect this question is because you want to use some of Oracle's
non-standard
extensions to JDBC. Our wrappers do provide access to various non-standard
Oracle methods, and we document how to cast (to our concret class or
to an interface we
define) in order to access these calls. Not all calls can be successfully
proxied by our wrappers
because some Oracle methods (which claim to take java.sql object asarguments)
actually
require oracle specific classes, and reject our proxies, even if they
are standard JDBC objects.

Problem in using Weblogic 6.1 with Oracle 9i

Has anybody experiensing problems in creating connection from Weblogic6.1 to Oracle

We have a piece of codes that works fine with Weblogic 6.1 and Oracle 8.1.7 but

We run weblogic and oracle on Windows2000.
The code looks like:
Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
String username = "yourusername";
String password = "yourpassword";
String host = "yourhost";
String sid = "yoursid";
String dbURL = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@" + host +":1521:" + sid;
String sql = "select * from yourtable";
System.out.println(dbURL);
Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection (dbURL, username,password);
Statement statement = connection.createStatement();
statement.executeQuery(sql);
statement.close();
connection.close();

1. Are you able to create connection pool using Oracle 9i THIN driver
? i.e Define
connection pool & make initial connection => 1. At the time of startup
weblogic
will create connections defined in connection pool.
2. Can you post your error message ?
Thanks

Hi,
Has anybody experiensing problems in creating connection from Weblogic6.1
to Oracle
9i using thin driver?
We have a piece of codes that works fine with Weblogic 6.1 and Oracle
8.1.7 but
failed to create database connection when we upgrade to database
to
9i
(the same
code works fine without weblogic).
Thanks
