InfoCube copy to Another BW system

Hi Experts,
We are using SAP BW 3.1 VER, We created customized cubes with data.
Actually We introduced SAP BW 3.5 ver in seperate server.
Now I want to transfer the BW 3.1 system existing Cubes with data to BW 3.5 system.
What are the possibilities to copy or transport or export the cube from one system another system.

Hi,
well the only thing I can imagine is: put your cube definition and everything you need into a request and try to import that request into your new system. In addition try to load the data in the normal way. Means: create a export datasource based on your cube in the old system
and assign this datasource to the infosource of your new system and load data. Of course you need to define your old system as a source system of your new system.

Transfer structure copied into another structure ?

Iam trying to transport an transfer structure and iam getting an error and when i looked into the SE09 log i noticed somethng strange .
I am not understanding why a transfer structure is copied into another structure as shown below in Bold while transporting ??? is this somethng normal or somehtng happening strangely in my system ?

Receiver File Adapter - Create File on another SAP System

I am working on a project that includes this requirement: PDF files to be copied from a third party company via SFTP to a directory on our ECC system.
We have worked out the sender side config, and the transfer of the files into PI works fine via SFTP.
However, the PDF files are ending up in a directory on the PI system and not on our ECC system as expected.
The receiver communication channel is set up as follows:
Party = blank
Communication Component = communication component of the ECC business system
Adapter type = File
('Receiver' is ticked)
Transport Protocol = File System (NFS) (etc)
Target directory = /tmp (using this temporarily for testing)
I would have thought using the ECC business system would mean the files would end up on that system, but instead they end up on the /tmp directory on the PI system.
We are not permitted to use FTP between our SAP systems, so I can't go with that option.
I've searched for help on this and only see conflicting and vague statements about whether the NFS protocol can or can't be used for transfer to another SAP system in the landscape.
Any suggestions and help on the above, and the best method of transferring the files to the end SAP system would be very appreciated.

remember that NFS means that it is referring to a file system on PI server.
What you could do is mount a space on SAP PI onto SAP ECC so that ECC will be able to access the files on SAP PI.
Guess that should solve the problem.

BI System copy: 2 SAP BW system should be connect to same R/3 system

Hi!
We have copy one SAP BW system SR1 to another SAP BW system SR2.
SR1 was connected to SAP R/3 system R31.
As consequence the new SAP BW system SR2 has also in RSA1 --> source system the entry of SAP R/3 system R31.
We would like to restore the source connection in new SAP BW system SR2.
By doing so a pop up comes up with decision to delete an existing connection R31<CLNT>XXX or not to delete this connection to the first BW System SR1.
Question:
Can 2 BW systems (SR1, SR2) be connected to the same SAP R/3 system (R31) and what should we do in this casee with pop up (delete or not delete the existing connection to the source BW System SR1)?
Any helpful information will be very appreciated!

Why not? One R/3 system can be connected to many BI/BW system.

This pop up is coming because you created your SR2 system as a copy of SR1 system. If you have access to your R/3 system, you can check in table RSBASIDOC there will be only one entry R31CLNTXXX --- SR1CLNTXXX which is creating problem
What you can do is to run one FM RSAP_BIW_DOSCONNECT ( in the new system) and delete the entry for R31CLNTXXX and SR1CLNTXXX. Then also delete some correspondign entries from EDP13, EDPP1 and EDP21. Then in the new system , from RSA1 create new connection. I Before creating the new source system connection, in your new BI system you can delete the RFC connection for the R/3 system from SM59. During creation of new connection this RFC will be generated once again automatically. should work fine.
Remember, DO NOT delete connection from RSA1 which in turn will delete all the dataSources.
Please also follow SAP Note 886102 - System Landscape Copy for SAP BW and NW BI carefully before doing ANYTHING with RSBASIDOC.

Hi Chinna,
Loading from one BW system 2 another primarily involves loading data from one infocube to another in other BW system.
U can create export data sources from infocubes ( rt. clk on infocube n then select ) and then use these datasources to load data into the infocubes of othar system in usual way.
Try this out.

Hi,
BLOBs are a different kind of data, so they won't move along if you migrate the data. If there are a lot of BLOBS you can write a data migration, otherwise you can just upload them again in your new schema.

Need of XI to send an XML from one SAP system to another SAP system

Dear colleagues,
I work in the SRM solution.
In SRM there is a Purchaser and Supplier scenario called Supplier Self Services.
The Purchaser creates a Purchase order and sends it to the supplier in form of an XML file.
The purchaser system and supplier system are the same SAP system but different clients.
Example: Purchaser client is 300 and Supplier client is 330 and both of them are on the same system.
I have a very basic question.
Currently we have the XI system which acts as an interface to send the Purchaser PO XML to the Supplier as XML.
a)My question is in case the XML structure is identical across both the clients, then what is the need of XI system?
b) Is it not possible to send XML from one client to another without an XI system? there si no need of any message mapping required since I am expecting the same XML structure in both clients.
Please clarify the need of XI system in the following scenario. Is it not possible without XI?

Hi Srivatsa,
YOu can send the XML message from one sap system to another sap system even without an XI system in between.
But the use of SAP XI (Or any other middleware) is recommended because, it gives you the following advantages.
1) Better monitoring and alerting mechanism. XI provides you robust set of tools that let you monitor the status of the messages that are exchanged.
2) Direct communication between systems is referred to as Point to Point communication, which has its own disadvantages as against Hub and SPoke model (Message exchange using XI).
3) Message delivery is guaranteed if you have XI in between.
If the target system is down, the sender sap system will not try multiple times to post the message.
But if you use XI, it can be configured to send the message multiple times, till it succeeds.

Scenario : when 2nd system create the invoice,it will create a po in the 1st system.
51 error msg we are getting material does not exists.but the material is available in the receiving plant.

If you say the material master is available in the 1st system (where you create the order), then the material number in the IDOC may not match with the material number in your database.
leading zeros. material number stored as alphanumeris instead of numeric.

has someone of you an idea how i can export my configuration from MAX to another automation system through NI-DAQmx?
We created a dll for the communication between the AUSY (not LabVIEW) and NI-DAQmx. The export file .nce is not in ascii format, so we can't use it or is there a way of solving our problem with it?

1. On your computer, yes. Use Boot Camp, Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion, VirtualBox, or similar software.

One more thing should i create "Non taxable payment wage type" in Basic Pay.
in Basic pay there is no any wage type copy Non taxable Wage type but Additional Payments there is one Copy Wage type name is "M400 Non taxable payment"
i check the all config related setting related to M400 non taxable payment
can i copy in Basic Pay any wage type & create new wage type (xyz)
& i change all setting eg processing class & all is similar in (XYZ) =M400
its is ok or not
