Infocube load failure post Support Pack Implementation

Hi,
We upgraded our BI 7.0 system to Support pack 21 and since then the data load to InfoCube has been failing. The Short Dump details is as mentioned:
Error analysis
An exception occurred which is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_RSR_COB_PRO_NOT_FOUND', was not caught and therefore caused a runtime error.
The reason for the exception is:
0REQUEST is not a valid characteristic for InfoProvider
Have been through some post which mentions below 2 solutions:
1. Activate 0REQUEST in Dev and move it to subsequent systems
OR----
2. Execute the program RSDG_CUBE_ACTIVATE and RSDD_RSTMPLWIDTP_GEN_ALL.
I tried the second option and it didnt work. In case you have faced any simialr issue then please do revert back.
Thanks & Regards,
Nitin S.

  • Applying Notes - Can there be negative consequences to future support packa

After applying notes is there a possiblilty that it could create a conflict with a future support package installation?  We are running ecc 5 0 with afs add on.  I am new to SAP so this might seem like a dumb question.  But any insight would be greatly appreciated.  I've read the pdf and seen the power point presentation now I need a little more help.  Thanks for any help.

    Hello Jose,
There will be no conflicts as such that are not resolvable easily because after every support pack upgrade you will be doing post support pack age activities spau and spdd. Please vist the following link for more information:

    Hi Graham,
I think you got me wrong. The change was made after SP9, I am asking which support pack this change was introduced in?
We have ERP 6.0 with SP9 and this change is NOT there. We also have ERP 6.0 EHP 4 and the change IS there. The code  snippet I posted is from ERP 6 EHP4.
    Thanks

  • Transport failure in QAS system after support pack stack 9 upgrade

We have a DEV->QAS>PRD ECC system landscape. Recently we upgraded our DEV, QAS and PRD system to support pack stack 9 (with Kernel level 137). After the upgrade, we got transport failure in QAS where it shows pink colored down arrow which shows unable to open import queue when I click on it under stms import overview. If I put back the old kernel (Level 69), transport works just fine. DEV is the TP domain controller. When I run the RTPTEST in QAS, it show sthe follwing info:
    RFC Destination
    Destination CALLTP_WindowsNT
    tp Path E:\usr\sap\QAS\DVEBMGS02\exe\tp.EXE
    tp Executable Size: 10.352.432 bytes
RFC Ping Error when opening an RFC connection
    tp Call
RFC Link Error when opening an RFC connection
    tp Version
    DB Connect
Offline Call Error when opening an RFC connection
I will greately appreciate any input to resolve this issue.
    Thanks

You need to upgrade two component of your kernel  tp and R3trans
Also perform an additonal test with new kernel
    cd /usr/sap/trans/bin
    tp connect <SID> pf=TP_DOMAIN_<SID_DC>.PFL
If you have issue to connect it means there is some issue with tp tool and/or connectivity
    Cheers !

    Experts,
While applying support packs for ABAP, it failed due to system issue. However, we could not logon to system or proceed further. It errors out the logon screen.
Also, it would be last resort to restore the system. Is there anyway, we could logon to system and correct the error?
    appreciate your help.
    Thanks,

  • SSIS Package Load Failure and is missing Execute SQL Task in Toolbox

Also, BIDS closes after right-clicking the toolbox and selecting “Choose Items”.
I’ve tried several ways to fix these issues with no success.
I’m running SSIS/SSMS/SQL Server 2008 R2 (but not running an SQL instance on my PC) on a Windows XP with Service Pack 3 workstation. I get the following errors:
    WHEN OPENING BIDS:
I get 2 errors titled “Package Load Failure”. They both reference ‘Visual Studio Explorers and Designers Package’ as being what failed to load. The first message references GUID 8D8529D3-625D-4496-8354-3DAD630ECC1B. The second references GUID AA612177-A69A-4391-B2F4-17F8A88F4BBA
. They both mention contacting the package vendor, but I haven’t got any Add-ins loaded so I’m not sure what that means exactly. They also both ask if I’d like to skip loading the package in the future.
    ONCE BIDS IS OPEN:
No error messages appear here. There is no ‘Execute SQL Task’ in the toolbox for Control Flows. Also, if I attempt to open a project containing this object (Execute SQL Task), I get this error in a modal window:
    TITLE: Microsoft Visual Studio
There were errors while the package was being loaded.
    The package might be corrupted.
See the Error List for details.
    BUTTONS:
    OK
. . . and these errors in the Error List at the bottom of the IDE:

Finally, when I attempt to add the Execute SQL Task via the Tools menu, “Choose Toolbox Items” selection, I do get the tabbed box for adding things. However, they only come up after issuing this error:
The following assemblies are installed SDK assemblies but could not be shown in the customize toolbox dialog because they are missing one or more components. Please make sure that all necessary libraries are available:
    Microsoft.SqlServer.SqlCEDest.dll
    Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.CollectorTasks.dll
    Microsoft.SqlServer.SQLTask.dll
    System.Data.SqlServerCe.dll
    Microsoft.Synchronization.Data.SqlServerCe.dll
(above dll repeated at bottom of message)
After this message, I have my choice of .NET Framework Compnents. When I select COM Components, those come up with no problem. The WPF Components tab generates the same dll error above. The Maintenance tab is empty. The SSIS Data Flow Items tab loads fine,
as does the SSIS Control Flow Items tab – but there’s no Execute SQL Task there either.
If you open the toolbox (on a new project, with a project loaded, or without a project loaded) and right-click, then select “Choose Items”, the entire application quickly closes. This “closing behavior” is the same thing you get if you attempt to add toolbox
items through either the Tools menu or the right-click method when you launch BIDS in SafeMode.
    In an effort to fix this – I’ve rolled back the .NET Framework version to 3.0 and reinstalled back up to 4; I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled SQL Server 2008 R2 shared services as well as the entire application; I’ve cleared the .tbd files from my user profile;
and I’ve run several things from the command line (devenv.exe /resetuserdata, /setup, /resetskippkgs, etc.). Lastly – I’ve applied every Service Pack and update applicable to my PC (ok, it belongs to my employer – but no one here has been able to figure this
    out either).
After having worked this for several days now and, I think, exhausting every available avenue from search engines – I turn to you. Please let me know if you can help. Also, I can provide any additional
files or information you may require.

No, this driver does not improve sound quality nor increase performance.
    No, there are no tweaks.

It is even worse that the so called tweaks come from a person who is not EVEN technically acknowledged, does NOT know anything about Windows internals, software engineering and?sound?fidelity that all audiophiles always look for.
If you "feel" the sound better, that is the infamous placebo effect and there is no real proof that any tweaks work.
In fact, I have yet to see a driver that states in its release notes that it improves sound quality.

Microphone issues on Windows 7/Vista 64-bit (x64) with 4GB?of RAM or more
Audigy driver does not support 64-bit addressing, resulting in random issues with the Microphone (static, robotic or distorted voice, white noise).
    Workarounds:
    - install the 32-bit (x86) version of Windows
    - limit the RAM available to Windows to less than 4GB
    - enable Memore Hole in BIOS Setup, if?your motherboard supports the setting
    6. Speakers?incorrectly available on Windows 7 64-bit (x64)
Due to a version detection bug in the 64-bit drivers, the FilterSpeakerMode registry setting is ignored, exposing the 6. speakers setting on Windows 7 x64 edition.
Do not choose that mode as it causes sync issues with Windows mixer.
    MediaSource DVD-Audio Player system requirements
    - 32-bit edition of Windows 7 / Vista / XP
    - any Audigy 2, Audigy 2 ZS or Audigy 4 card
Built-in Decoder on Windows 7 / Vista (requires Service Pack )
To use the built-in decoder, make sure it is enabled in Audio Console.
Select "SPDIF Out (Creative SB Audigy (WDM))" as the output device of your player and then configure the AC3/DTS filter to send the stream through SPDIF.
When you restart your computer, the Tone settings (Bass and Treble) are not applied.
Just readjust one of the controls one time per boot.
Advanced EQ and Special FX not available on Windows 7 / Vista
These presets don't work on Windows 7 / Vista.
There is no sound in games with OpenAL support on Windows XP
Disable Advanced EQ and Special FX selecting "No effect" before running the game or program.
    Equalizer settings are lost
When you run a game with OpenAL support or using Creative ALchemy, the Equalizer settings are lost.
Just run Equalizer and the saved setting is loaded automatically.
Tone settings are reset when speaker configuration is changed
Bass and treble settings are reset when speaker configuration is changed.
    DTS Encoder Switcher
The Encoder Switcher can be found in the \EncSwitcher folder in the path where you extracted the Support Pack.
Thoroughly read the ReadMe.txt file included before using the provided?utilities.
    Hardware CMSS Headphone
To use the hardware CMSS you need to select "Disable all enhancements" in the "Enhancements" tab on:
    Playback Devices -> Speaker Properties
Now check the Speaker configuration in "Playback devices".
If it is Stereo, run Audio Console and change it to 4., 5. or 7. and only after that change it to Headphones.
This procedure ensures that CMSS() will work after a Windows restart, otherwise only CMSS2 will work.
    Microsoft Audio Home Theater Effects
This driver adds the following audio effects, which are available depending on the current speaker configuration:
    - Bass Management
    - Speaker Fill
    - Room Correction
    - Loudness Equalization
    - Bass Boost
    - Virtual Surround
    - Low Frequency Protection
Some effects are also available for the "SPDIF Out" device.
Some Microsoft effects have priority over Creative CMSS effects and will disable the later.
    Windows MIDI Device Configuration Utility
Use this utility to change the MIDI playback device for 32-bit and 64-bit applications.

    - Online Karaoke page is available for all Audigy cards on Windows Vista or later; this is NOT a new feature, but an easier way to configure the Microphone.
    - EAX Settings for Windows Vista or later includes EAX Studio, a fancy version of EAX Control Panel, no changes in functionality, except the Test button now works.
    - Added fully localized Korean and Chinese (Traditional) resources for EAX Studio, which were missing.
Undocumented fixes by Creative (not listed in the release notes):
    - Headphone mode now sticks and does not revert automatically to Speakers mode on Windows Vista or later.
    - Special FX, Advanced EQ and Studio presets were not working on Windows Vista or later.
    Release Notes:
IMPORTANT: Driver uninstall on Windows Vista or later
The included driver for Windows Vista or later has a bug that causes a stop (blue screen) error when unloaded by disabling the Audigy or uninstalling the driver.
To workaround this issue, run the KillDrv.exe utility included and restart when asked to do so. Proceed normally and uninstall all the software or only the driver.
If you have previously installed the Audigy 5/RX driver, you MUST run this utility.
As the KillDrv verify the driver version installed, running it won't do any harm, even if the driver version is not affected.
HOW TO INSTALL THE GAMEPORT DRIVER
You can find a Gameport\ReadMe.htm file in the folder where you unpacked the Support Pack.
Just follow the steps shown in the screenshots.
WINDOWS 8.1 OR LATER DOES NOT SAVE SETTINGS
    - Configure all settings and shutdown. Your settings will be saved.
    - This does not work if you disable Fast startup permanently or temporarily (by holding the Shift key while shutting down).
    - On Windows 10 you need to run the application with Administrator privileges (right-click and choose Run as Administrator). This is valid for all applications used to configure the card.
OpenAL 2D benchmark in RightMark 3DSound crashes your system
The included driver for Windows Vista or later has a bug that crashes your system if you run the OpenAL 2D benchmark using 63 buffers.
No problem With 62 or fewer buffers.
OpenAL 3D and OpenAL 3D + EAX benchmarks are not affected.
    Details: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (0x000000D1) - ctoss2k.sys
There is no DirectSound hardware acceleration on Windows XP 64-bit (x64) with 4GB RAM or more
The Audigy driver does not support 64-bit addressing, disabling the DirectSound hardware acceleration and causing multichannel sound to be played only in the stereo channels (front left/right).
    Workarounds:
    - install the 32-bit (x86) version of Windows XP.
    - limit to less than 4GB the amount of RAM available to Windows.
    - enable the "Memory Hole" setting in the BIOS Setup, if your motherboard supports it.
    - install and use Creative ALchemy to convert the DirectSound API calls into OpenAL, which is not affected by this issue.
Karaoke effects make the audio play in mono
You can avoid this issue by using EAX Console to enable Karaoke effects. Audio Console is affected by the issue.
    Optionally, follow the steps below.
Open EAX Settings, select a Karaoke effect, then click the Edit button.
Click on the Source (Wave) tab and change the Original sound to 100% and Pitch Shift to 0%. Click the Save environment button.
Repeat the steps for all Karaoke effects.
These changes will be valid only for the current speaker configuration. If desired, repeat the same process for each speaker configuration.
    MediaSource DVD-Audio Player system requirements
    - 32-bit edition of Windows XP or later
    - any Audigy 2, Audigy 2 ZS or Audigy 4 card
Built-in Decoder on Windows Vista or later
To use the built-in decoder, make sure it is enabled in Audio Console.
Select "SPDIF Out (Creative SB Audigy (WDM))" as the output device of your player and then configure the AC3/DTS filter to send the stream through SPDIF.
When you restart your computer, the Tone settings (Bass and Treble) are not applied.
Just readjust one of the controls one time per boot.
Equalizer and EAX effects are not available when using OpenAL or ALchemy
Only Tone (Bass and Treble) and CMSS 3D (CMSS, CMSS2 and Stereo Surround) features are available.
There is no sound in games with OpenAL support
Disable Advanced EQ and Special FX by selecting "No effect" before running the game or program.
Equalizer settings are not applied after using OpenAL or ALchemy
After you run a game with OpenAL support or using Creative ALchemy, the Equalizer settings are applied.
Just run Equalizer and the saved setting is loaded automatically.
Tone settings are lost when speaker configuration is changed
Bass and treble settings reset to their default values when speaker configuration is changed.

And when I try to test the signal through the audio settigs it says "The device is being used by another application. Please close any devices that are playing audio to this device". I cant think of any other device running. When I untick the Enable Dolby Digital Live I can get stereo sound again. The DDL is authenticated. The cable is working. The amp is fine. I neeeeed help....
Unfortunately I don't have a sample card to test personally and don't know anyone with an Audigy 5/RX.
    Anyway, I have a suggestion.
Run EndPtUtl.exe found in the Audio Console installation folder.
If the issue still persists, try to use the Digital Output (Coaxial/Optical) of another device, provided that you have any on your computer.
EndPtUtl.exe enables the use of any device for outputting encoded audio.

  • Support Pack Upgrade Strategy

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to develop a strategy for testing SP upgrades in development and "okaying" them for migration into production.
What steps do you normally take to ensure your system works as intended and the update is really for production?
I would think to go through and verify all of the changes from the SAP note which contains the SP detail, but what else? It is often the case that implementing a SP has an effect on other functionality.
Please share your thoughts and experiences.
    Thanks,
    Grace Rae

    Hi Grace,
Firstly, this question should be posted in the Basis forums You will have more experts who dealt with these activities there.
Regarding the support pack upgrade strategy, we would normally implement it in the test systems, and closely monitor the system performance in peak and normal hours, background jobs, and any other issues that are highlighted during the monitoring period. If there are no issues reported by the functional testing team, we will go ahead implementing it in production system.
    Hope this helps!

  • Testing BI's Support Packs

    Hi all,
We will be implementing BI's Support Packs next month, the question is, what kind of testing do we need to do and do we need to refresh the date coming from ECC? Is there anything else that we need to know specific to BI's support packs?
The only thing I can think of is we need finish all the extraction which has been performed and clean the queues.
    Thanks all,
    Samer

    Hi Samer,
I don't think you have to refresh data from ECC because generally the cube/ods tables are not changed. So just keep the data, it's OK.
What the important is you need to test functionalities. For example, create/modify/delete InfoObject/ODS/Cube/MultiProvider/Query/Workbook/table/structure/program etc, and test load data, delete data ... Because with new support package implemented, such programs are usually updated.
Also you need to pay attention to the sequence. In my company we first on implement SP on test machine, then develop, and last production. For every machine we do a SGEN and all above tests.
    Hope this helps!

    Frank

  • Support Pack Testing

    Hi all ,
Can any one share or give their inputs on How the testing should be handled for BW support packs ? Basicaaly the test cases for both BW backend and BW frond end ?
Any input will be greatly appreciated.

I generally perform a triage process when looking thru the Notes.  If you haven;t already implemented Hot Fix and High Priority notes, I would review them first.  Then you make a pass through the other Notes:
    - there may be components of BW that you don't use, e.g. SEM, MDX, or maybe notes for certain extractors you don't use.  Those Notes can pretty much be set aside - you shouln't have to do anything else with them.
    - identify any notes that require you to do something as a prerequisite, e.g. perhapss there is an RSADMIN entry you need to make, or some other option that must be set somewhere.
    - identify any notes that require you to do something to take advantage of a new feature - this is different than the previous group of Notes that were required changes.  These would be broken up into two groups, Notes that sound like they deleiver somehting you really need/want right away, and those Notes that provide features that are less critical.
    - identify the Notes that sound likethey make change that are important to your installation.
    -  there are Notes that fix really obscure problems that you have not encounted, and thos go into a low priority group.
    - you'll probably have some Notes that require some reseacrh to gauge their impact.
I think once you have grouped the Notes, you should start to be able to get a feel for what needs a thorough test and review, and what might only warrant a quick check to make sure it still seems to work.
You'll need to perform basic config testing - can I create/change InfoProviders, InfoObjects, queries etc.
Test a representative sample of qureies, wkbks - BEx and web.
Test daily data load preocess which should include all the regular functions such as compression, rollup, change run, etc.
Test important BW Admin functions that you might not run every day, e.g PSA deletion, RSRV, etc.
Also review any more recent Notes that have been published for a future SP to make sure there is nothing in them that is of concern.

  • Wmi provider load failure windows 7

I'm really out-of-my element here (and I hope this is the right here). Trying to install the Visual Micro Arduino add-in to Atmel Studio 6.1, with their help we finally got to "wmi provider load failure" on my Windows 7 PC. How do I fix this?
    Baby steps, please, and thanks.

    Hello,
    Thank you for your post.
I am afraid that the issue is out of support range of VS General Question forum which mainly discusses
the usage of Visual Studio IDE such as WPF & SL designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System
    and Visual Studio Editor.
I suggest consulting your issue on Windows Community:

  • Pre-requisites for Support Packs in BI 7.0 System

    Hello Everyone,
We are planning on applying support packs to our BI 7.0 system where we currently are at SP13 and we are not applying any support packs in ECC 6.0 system.
    The question is,
Do we have to clear out the delta queues in ECC system before we can apply the support packs in BW system.
We will clear out the RSA7 in BW system.
So, the concern is do we need to have downtime in ECC if so....would it have to be through out the support pack process in BI system.
Please let me know would data be corrupted in ECC if we do not clear out the delta queues.
Because technically, we are not applying any changes in ECC system. All the support pack activities will be performed in BI environment and the RSA7 within BI will be taken care of. So, am not sure why would we have to clear out the delta queues in ECC when applying support packs in BI system which does not change anything on ECC side.
    Any input would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Dharma.

I am not sure about first two questions that you have asked.
Whenever you applying support packages in your BI system, no trasaction code should be executed. otherwise you would short dumps in your BI system.
you should lock all the userids before you go for upgrade. And no need of downtime in ECC but you should not do any load extraction from R/3.
Morever best thing is upgrading ECC as well. it is better to have both systems upgraded and in same level.
Hope my reply would help you in some extent.

Try turning of the Multi-threaded server option (i.e. comment out "mts" references in the init[SID].ora file). This appears to be an MTS-related bug.
