Infoobject deletion

hi
i have few doubts regarding the infoobject deletion.
1. If we delete the Standard infoobject, will it just delete active version of the object or deleivery version also ?
2. Is there any way other than RSD1 to delete inactive infoobjects.

Hi,
It deletes only the active version of the info-object and you would always be able to reactivate once you need it.
RSD1 is the best place to delete it. Other option would be use a fn module to delete the inactive info-objects. But deleting the info-objects one-by-one after checking is the best option to avoid any confusion.

  • Infoobject deletion problem.......

    Hi ,
I am not able to delete one info object.
It is being used in one table /BI0/0100000403. The table description is query template. But I dont know how to remove it from the query template.
    Any suggestions ?
    Thanks , Jeetu

In RSD1 enter the InfoObject name and search where used button at the bottom, once you know where it is being used, go to that template (report), cube, DSO and remove that object and delete it.
You can't delete the object before you remove it from those objects.
    thanks.

  • Enable alpha conversion on infoobject, deletion of data no option

    Hi SDN forum users
I have this issue where I need to enable / activate alpha conversion on an existing infoobject. The problem is that this infoobject is used in several DSO's and cubes, so many, that deletion of data and reload is not an option (It does not contain Master Data only used as transaction data). Therefore I need to find a solution, that makes activation of alpha conversion possible even though data exits. I have heard about the transaction RMSDEXITON for this, but since we are using version 7.0 this option has been removed.
So how do you guys see the possiblities for me to enable alpha conversion?

    Hi.....
U can add the conversion routine for this Infoobject in three ways...
In the BW side...in the Datasource Level
In the datasource >> Go to fields tab >> there search the R/3 field which is mapped to that Infoobject in the Transformation >> Then in the Conv.Routine column select the Alpha Conversion Routine and In the Format column select External....
    In the Transformation
Write a field level routine for that particular field abd call the Alpha conversion routine there...
    In the R/3 side
In the Customer exit ....Go to SE37 >> EXIT_SAPLRSAP_001 >> Double click on ZXRSAU01 >> search the datasource......write the code there....

  • InfoObject deletion in Cube

    Hi,
I have crated an InfoObect with reference to other InfoObject. Added in Info-Cube, it is available in InfoCube overview. but it is not available in Update Rules.
The InfoObject which I have created is saved in Local Development class($TMP). I want to delete this InfoObect from the Cube. How can I proceed with this?
    Can any one Suggest me?
    Thanks in Advance,
    KT.

    Hi,
go to info cube and then there you can delete info object from Charactristics by selecting the info object and using the arrow towards right direction.
if there is any data available then it wont allow you to delete the info object from the cube.

  • Capture transport for infoobject delete

we have an infoobject that we need to delete across systems. How do we capture the transport for deleting the infoobject?

I know of two ways to do this.  If the info object is still in DEV, delete it and attach that delete to a transport.   Move that transport as usual.
If you have already deleted the info object, then you can no longer do this.  The only other alternative is to open up the systems and delete the object directly.

    Hi
    It should work
After going to TCODE 'SE11' -> Database Table 'BALHDR'
    Give OBJECT as 'RSD'
SUBOBJECT as 'IOBJ_DEL' and try to execute it will give list of all infoobject deleted.
I think you date range is wrong, if you remember technical name of infoobject give it in EXTNUMBER.
    Hope this solves your number.

  • How to Delete the dimension from the cube ?

    Hi ,

i have added the new dimension by assiging one characteristic to that dimension .
now i  want to delete it ,
but system saying that   Dimension ZXXX  contains InfoObjects; deletion not possible .
how to delete it ? any help .
    Thanks

Make sure you donot have any data in cube. If you have some data in cube, then you will not be able to see Delete option.
Right click on the cube-->Delete data.
Then double click on the cube>Goto Edit mode> select the IO under that Dimension> right click> now you will be able to see the Delete option (provided you have deleted all the date from Cube)
    Then right click on Dimension-->Delete

  • Delete temporary tables from namespace /BI0/0W - Failed to delete BPC Dim

    Hi guys,
we have a problem while trying to delete a BPC Dimension which is no more used in any Application.
Dimension deletion fails because BW InfoObject deletion fails. From SLG1 we see there are some reference still in use.
Data Element /B28/OIJ2D30F1 is used in a couple of tables (/BI0/0W00000231 and /BI0/0W00000233).
These tables seems to be "where used list" tables.
We found an OSS Note [1042921|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1042921] related to DB6.
But it is not suitable: we are on ORACLE.
    Anyway it says:
you may have to delete temporary tables from namespace /BI0/0W*, which also use the data element
    These are exactly our symptoms
Does anyboy of you know how to delete this tables in /BI0/0W namespace?
    Package is blank
SE11 -> Delete requires to register the object (created by BPC_ADMIN)
    Thanks in advance
    GFV

in the table ddd02l you can see the temporary table..
TCode db02, you can ask your basis team to delete temp  table...you can see it 'under missing table and indexe'

  • Final user's can not see the data due to limited authorization.

We have created a InfoSet with three info Objects, 0Account, 0Costcenter and 0COMP_CODE. 0Costcenter have an attribute retail location  0RT_LOCATIO.
0RT_LOCATIO is an authorization relevant object. We as consultants can execute the infoset properly, but final user's with limited authorizations can not see the data because of authorization failier
We hae several options to solve the issue, deleselect the auth. flag in the infoobject; delete the infoobject from the attributes of the cost center or create an authorization object and assign it to the final user's profile. But we don't want to go that way.
My question is, is there any way to avoid including this attribute in the infoset definition? We are not using it in the query and we don't need it, so if we could delete it from the infoset (in the same way you add or delete infoobjects from an Infocube) without changing the cost center aster data, we will have our problem solved.
Does anyone how to do this (if possible)?
    Thanks in advance!

Just do two things to find the authorization check failed for that user.
    1. Execute SU53 output and find out the authoirzation check failed. If yes, please send that to BASIS Team.
    2. Next one, switch on the authorization trace in ST01 and ask that user to see that data. if the user is failed with authorization issue. switch off the trace in ST01 and find out the issue.
Do this way, if it is not successful you can go for any other alternate way.
    Hope this would help you.

  • Automatic Fields Mapping in Transformation - BI7

    Greeting,
Getting some development procedures done automatically will definitely boost up productivity and efficiency. Examples include programs to:  create mass infoObjects, delete mass infoObjects, and activate mass InfoObjects.
    Again, that are just examples.
In line with this, have you ever come across any program for automatic mass mapping in transformation?
Meaning instead of doing it manually, you just fill the source fields and the target field in the program then you press the button and have it ready on the spot.
Your quick response will be highly appreciated.

    Hi,
I have not tried this out. But I guess you can use the class CL_RSTRAN_BUILD and generate transformations via an ABAP program.

  • Any way to force order of changes applied?

After more testing on my install program, I'm running into an issue where I get an exception due to a duplicate named report in a CMS folder.  This is because in the InfoObjects collection that I am trying to commit in a batch, I am deleting a prior archived version of the report, "then" moving the current version into the archive folder (before creating the new version of the report in the original folder).  If there is no prior version of the report in the archive folder, I do not get this exception.  (I am already changing the name of the archived version to include a date, and I don't really want to just keep making new archived versions ad infinitum.)
I tried to create three InfoObjects collections, one for objects to add, one for objects to change, and one for objects to delete.  I then merged all three into one InfoObjects collection to do my CommitBatch().  I tried merging in the order deleteObjects, changeObjects, addObjects, and the reverse (in case the merged collection ends up "on top of the stack"), and I get the exception either way.
I really, really, really want to do this in all one commit transaction.  Is there any way to tell the SDK what order to attempt to apply the changes in?
I am using the XI R1 version of the SDK.  Will upgrading to XI R2 help (which I need to do anyway; just need to get the CD from my sysadmin)?
    Thanks for the help,
    Carl

It tuns out that I wasn't deleting the prior archived version the way I thought I was.  (The deleteObjects collection was empty.)  I had thought (based on the reply to a prior thread) that the InfoObjects.Delete() would "mark" the report for deletion upon a commit.  However, it just removed the object from the collection.
I see the InfoObject.DeleteNow() method, but that sounds like it immediately goes out and removes the object from CMS, outside the scope of a CommitBatch() (which was also stated in that same thread).
Is there a way to delete an object from the CMS as part of the CommitBatch() call?
This might be just an issue with my approach to accomplishing the task.  Since I am potentially doing this specific task any number of times, I am creating a InfoObjects collection by querying the CMS for the objects I am looking to delete.  I then call Delete() for each InfoObject in the collection, and then Merge the collection into deleteObjects.  This Merge() apparently does not move the deleted InfoObjects into the deleteObjects collection.  How would I go about doing this?  Should I collect all of the objects in deleteObjects than, right before committing, delete each object in the collection?  Is there another approach that I have to take?  Here is my code, which is in a method that can be called multiple times:
// delete prior archive version (one per date; keep other-dates history until cleanup)
    InfoObjects pa = infostore.Query("select * from CI_INFOOBJECTS where SI_NAME = '"
        + archiveName + "' and SI_KIND = 'CrystalReport' and SI_PARENTID = " + pid.ToString());
    if (pa.Count > 0)
    { // zap 'em
      foreach (InfoObject oa in pa) { pa.Delete(oa); }
      deleteObjects.Merge(pa);
If I put a breakpoint on deleteObjects.merge(pa), the value of pa.Count is zero, where it is 1 at the point of the IF statement...
    [Referenced thread|Clearification of InfoObject.DeleteNow() method, please;
    Thanks for the help,
    Carl
