Infoobject Masterdata/Texts tab

Hello friends
I would like to know when i am creating an info object how would i know if the object has a text (small,medium or long description) and if the infoobject should or shouldnt be text dependent.What will be the best place to check.As of some colleagues i was checking their custom Infoobjects the MD box is not checked but the Text is.How will you determine of the fields from R3 to BW which one is and is not a MD.

Hi:
Users/Business will tell you if that FIELD in R/3 has Text and/or Master Data.
Remember you can always add Texts and Master Data is after going to PROD easily as needed in the future (of course it has to be transported).

InfoObject with texts problem

System: SAP BW DEV;
Problem: I wanted to make some changes with InfoProvider 0PROD_HIER___T, which is an InfoObject with texts. Finally, 0PROD_HIER___T disappeared, I don't see it in the treelist of InfoProviders (I actually don't think, I could delete it...). In the InfoPackage tab "Data Targets" I still can see data target name 0PROD_HIER___T. I want to bring it back to InfoProviders' list without any damage of system . Or maybe it's already deleted?
any minds for next steps? thnx

Info object change mode ,master data/text tab , assign some Application component . then It will show in the info provider list .

With Master Data:
If you set this indicator, the characteristic may have attributes. In this case the system generates a P table for this characteristic. This table contains the key of the characteristic and any attributes that might exist. It is used as a check table for the SID table. When you load transaction data, there is check whether there is a characteristic value in the P table if the referential integrity is used.
With Maintain Master Data you can go from the main menu to the maintenance dialog for processing attributes.
The master data table can have a time-dependent and a time-independent part.
In attribute maintenance, determine whether an attribute is time-dependent or time independent.
With Texts:
Here, you determine whether the characteristic has texts.
If you want to use texts with a characteristic, you have to select at least one text. The short text (20 characters) option is set by default but you can also choose medium-length texts (40 characters) or long texts (60 characters).

Load data to infoobject master text from csv

Dear Experts
I have infoobject master,
and in tab master data/text, I thick :
- short text,
- medium text
- text languange dependent
now, I want load data from csv to the infoobject master text
how many columns i must set in my csv ?
must I set languange column and record number column ?

hi,
the easy way is to create direct update infosurce and then the transfer rules on the text.
the system will automatically create thwe transfer rules with the fields and then u can use for for dataload.
in general u can go to text table and see the fields required.
u have to include all fields in text table in tr.

Discover Plus - Export to Text Tab delimited is not exporting all the rows

Hi gurus,
I am trying to export a large data report which has 1 million plus rows to text tab delimited. The export takes 9 plus hours to export and the data is not more than 100000.
My question is
1. How can I make the discoverer to export it quicker or rather faster to tab delimited.
2. Where can I change the number of rows to be exported.
Any help, suggestions is appreciated.

Hi Rod,
Yes. The text tab delimited export is taking lot of time. The total rows for this report are nearly 1 million. If I break down the report with condition and export it I was able to export it ( three files exported with 212000, 103000 and 687000 rows respectively).
But I m still having problems exporting it in one shot. Is there any way I could resolve this? Please let me know.

Upload Purchase order text tab using BDC

Is it possible to upload Purchase order text tab in material master (tcode mm01) using a BDC.
If so pls tell me how to upload the same, what is the field name of the box.

u need to use READ_TEXT or SAVE_TEXT or WRITE_TEXT or COMMIT_TEXT to upload text into SAP.

how can I edit text tabs in Photoshop like in Illustrator that I can choose to view the tab rulers and edit the alignment on the tabs?
is it possible? otherwise I can't understand why I can use the tabs at all...

No, tab-formatted text is not editable in the manner you desire. As for your question - tab is just a character like any other. You are simply taking a given kind of implementation for granted, nothing more, but that must not necessarily be the case for all programs. An evil programmer just could assign the tab key to forward delete or any other fancy function just as he could make your space key draw funky symbols from a different Unicode range, if you get my meaning... so simply take it the way it is. Problem in BDC for VA01 transaction TEXTS tab(Upgrading from 4.5b to ECC6)

Hi All,
I am working in upgrade project from 4.5b version to ECC6 version.
I am facing problem in TEXTS tab of VA01 transaction. In earlier version it is a table control containing of Language, Description & First line but, in ECC6 the screen is modified with texteditor, a list box for language key and a Text type at the left.
Now my problem is how to record this in BDC and how to read the text in the texteditor?

In this case i would suggest the use of BAPI if there's no compulsion to use BDC.

Text Tab is not appearing in PO Item Level

Hi All,
I have created a PO with ME21N, I have written some text in Inforrecord.
My question is In PO creation or in change screen the Po Text tab in Item details is missing, it is not appearing.
I want it to be present in PO item details screen.
How can we resolve this.
I have checked the screen layout setting in SPRO, it is ticked with option Optional
Can anyone help me out.

Possible Bug when selecting the "text" tab on a Line Chart

Thought I would pass this on. Not sure if it has been logged yet or not. Sometimes when building a line chart, the properties field locks up when I try and select the "text" tab. The dialog boxes in the "text" tab do not show up and the "layout" tab is also highlighted. I do not know what causes this, but it has happened to me numerous times. The only solution is to totally delete the line chart and start all over. It may be related to copying and pasting. I set up a chart the way I need it and then copy/paste it rather than making all the changes on a default settings chart when I need another chart.

Can you list the exact steps to reproduce this problem in the most simple case?
Example: add line chart, bind to data, copy, paste, click on text tab...............

Text Tab delimited - using Numbers

I have some Numbers files that I need to upload to a contact manager as Text Tab - Delimited. I cannot seem to find the correct way of doing it, since I am not able to get them done.

If you need to export data from specific tables, you can try is selecting the cells, command-c to copy, and in a text editor, command-v to paste, and then save to file, which you should then be able to upload to the contact manager.
Selecting cells and copying them places their values on the clipboard tab-delimited.

Hope your requirement is to add one u2018Text typeu2019 in the line item of the sales order. Say you want to add u2018ITEM DETAILS_SOURCEu2019 in the line item text of sales order. Follow the steps given below.
1.     SPRO >> SD >> Basic function >> Text Control. Click u2018Text Controlu2019
2.     Click on u2018Define Text Typeu2019
3.     Select u2018Sales Documentu2019 and then u2018Itemu2019
4.     Click on u2018Changeu2019; select the Text procedure u2018Sales itemu2019 and click on u2018Text IDu2019
5.     The text object is VBBP; Create a new u2018Text IDu2019; Go for a new entry and enter the sequence number (higher than the existing one); enter TEXT id as u2018ITEM DETAILS_SOURCEu2019; save
6.     Now the new text id will be displayed at item text if you create a sales document that includes inquiry, quotation and sales order.
