Infoobject - Material group: Packaging material

Hello!
I want to create an infoobject Material group: Packaging material. In 0material datasource there is a field MAGRV (I have it also in COPA datasource). I want to create an IO (what's the name?) with extractors, preferably get it from Business Content.
I searched but no success? In SAP R3 the sorce table is TVEGR.

Hi,
You can create the Infoobejct which is in the sorce table is TVEGR.
1. Check the Object Datatype and length in TVEGR.
2. Create the Object in BI side.
Goto RSA1> Click on Infoobject> Create the Infoobject with the same datatype and length which are same in Source Table(TVEGR).

IPhoto '09 how to group package photos?

Is there a way in iPhoto ('09, v8.1.2 on my Intel 24" desktop iMac) to somehow "group package" 4 or 5 individual photos so that I can upload this "single" file to, in this case, one of the online photo printing companies to fit their "single photo" card template? I'm trying to put maybe 4 photos side-by-side in a blank 4x8" photo card. The upload wizard allows "one photo" in Shutterfly for this particular card and size and their tech support says I can game this "one photo" upload by "group packaging" my 4 individual JPEG snapshots. Sounds promising, but how do I do this? Put my 4 photos in a folder and upload the folder, or ??

Yes. Export them to a folder on the desktop and: 1 - add the folder to the email or 2 - Control (right) - click on the folder and select Compress "XXXX" from the contestual menu. That will zip the folder and files which can be added to the email. The recipient will have to unzip the file to access the folder and image file.

ORA-20001: Unauthorized access (security group package variable not set).

I'm creating an app that uses APEX authentication and features self-registration (working) and forgot password (not working) forms.
My forgot password is public (requires no authentication). The user provides username and secret answer, which are validated, then provides the new password. I attempt to use htmldb_util.reset_pw to reset the user's password, but it's not working.
I have a process on the new password page calling a PL/SQL anonymous block that looks like this (see below), where P16_ITEM1 = username and P18_ITEM1 = new password.

END;
I also don't know how to send accurate success/failure messages from such PL/SQL block back to APEX, but that's a separate issue I guess.
Anyway, when testing via SQL Developer as the user with APEX_ADMINISTRATOR_ROLE, I get the following error:

Anyway, when testing via SQL Developer as the user with APEX_ADMINISTRATOR_ROLE, I get the following error:

Grouping Packages for Execution

I have created several packages that are single process focused and would like to execute each in a specfic order. How do I do this? I tried creating a package to process the packages, but that is not allowed.
Do I have to create one hugh package to process everything? I would like to execute package1 then package2, etc. I want to reuse these packages for other processes.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm new to ODI, currently converting HAL Integrations to ODI.

YOU can use scenarios instead.
in a package you can do something like
scen1-->scen2-->scen3...
where scen1 is scenario created from package 1..etc..

Pre resuisite: Establish RFC between these systems.
After establishing RFC:
1. Go to RSA1 - transport connection - search for your objects, collect them.
2. Once you collect, click truck button on the right side.
3. When you do this, you will be prompted for transport request , create a request.
4. Go to Se10 and look for transport req created referred to in 3 above.
5. Position your cursor on your request and click the truck button to release the requests .
6. After this, your objects will move .

Offline Installation of Large Group Packages

Hey. I'm trying to install xorg and fluxbox offline. I followed the wiki article about Offline Installation and everything works fine up until the pacman -S command. First I tried without building a repository, then with, but neither approach worked.
I get past the package list confirmation and then pacman fails looking for the first package from the ftp repositories. Everything is setup correctly and the repository and pacman.conf are all working fine. Is there any way to do this without building a massive pacman -S statement listing all the packages?

I think you're have something set up wrong, since if you've downloaded the packages to the pacman's cache directory, it automatically picks them up. In other words, it tries to download *only if* it doesn't find them in cache.
So for instance:
- with the default setup, if you download the packages to /var/cache/pacman/pkg, it installs fine
- with your custom repo, make sure that the repo is listed first in pacman.conf (so that pacman associates the packages with your repo, not with [extra])

Create an external HU with different packaging material type

Hi All,
Iu2019m trying to create an external handling unit with the material below:
Packaging material: 2892
Packaging material type: Z501
Material Group: Packaging Materials: Z501
But the system creates de HU with the Packaging material type: 0001 instead Z501.
My question is.. How can I set the material or HU to take the Packaging material type Z501?

I have created material using the material type VERP
this is a packaging material & I want to add packaging material type in the material master but i am not able to find this field there can you guys please tell me the exact view wherein i can mention the packaging material type

I have used Material type VERP for creating the material.
let me clarify 1 thing i.e. packaging material type and material type VERP are two different things
packaging material type is field in material master and its not the one which comes while creating the material as that is material type
and this is my packing material in which i want to pack the material X(FERT)
As per my understanding the Material X will carry the packaging material group and the packing material must carry the packaging material type becuase in the config (logistics execution> shipping> allowed packaging material type per material group) packaging material type is having certain allowed material group.
due to this config i can pack my material X only in certain type of packing materials

Modeling: how to place Material Grp in Material Master TABLE instead of DIM

I just completed a review of the "...Modeling with BI" document and I will appreciate some clarification on the following:
Some key points leading to question:
--"..In order to cover all requirements, master tables in a BI Data model are NOT linked directly to cube .."
e.g. While Material Number is in the Material Dimension; Material Type and Material Group are outside the Star Schema (page 14) i.e. in the Material Master, Material Text, Material Hierarchy TABLES.
--".. translation tables called SID tables are used in the BI data model to link the master tables of the BI data model to cubes" (page 16)
--So, the discussion goes on to point to the different LOCATIONS that a dependent attribute (which are not in 1:N relationships) of a characteristic such as Material Group may be located:
in the
i) Material Dimension table or
ii) Material Master table or
iii) Material Hierarchy table or
iv) combination of i/ii/iii
My question:
When building a cube, I know how to add Material Group to the same dimension as in case of i.
How do I add Material Group in the cube, in such as way that it is ii?
If I created a separated InfoObject, Material Group, it will not meet ii, since it will not be part of the Cube in question.
Can you help me with how to make the LOCATION for Material Group as ii and iii in this example?
i.e. to make Material Group as part of the model but not added to the Material Dimention table but to "Material Master table"

Look.......Infocube will never store Master data...........Master data will be stored in Infoobject...............
Now look...........if u make a Infoobject Master data enable.........then it will be connected to Four Master data table.......

When u r creating the Infoobject........in the Masterdata/text tab...........if u check the box With Master data.........the characteristic may have attributes........... In this case the system generates a P table for this characteristic.............. This table contains the key of the characteristic and any attributes that might exist.........
Again if u check the With Text...........then it will hav text table..............
For Hierarchy in the Hierarchy tab page..u hav to select with hierarchy.................
Now while activating the Master data SID gets generated..........this is stored in SID table.........SID table contains the Key field of the Attribute table and SID............suppose material...........then SID table will contain Material number and SID value........
Now the DIM table of an infocube contains..........SID and DIM.............so DIM tables r connected to the Master data table with this SID.......Again in turn SID tables are conneected to the Master data table.........
So cube will access this Master data table with the help of SID..........ie.......ID tables are used in the BI data model to link the master tables of the BI data model to cubes

Material attribute assigned to a DSO field

Hello All,
A Material attribute needs to be filled with a field from the DSO and should not consider the value which it actually holds in the InfoObject Material.
Is it possible to assign this attrbiute without adding a individual field in the Cube?

How do I tell pacman to now download some packages from a group?

Hi,
If I want to install a group package (oh say... gnome) and don't want all packages (oh say... gnome games) how do I go about telling that to pacman?

When you run the command "pacman -S gnome" and it asks you if you want to install everything... enter "n" for no.

How is packaging process(along with Handling Unit) is carried out and is linked to delivery

Packing for Inbound and Outbound Deliveries
Use
Packing delivery items is carried out right in the delivery itself. From the overview screen, choose Edit ® Pack in order to access the packing screen.
Features
The following functions are available during packing:
Packing delivery items in handling units (HUs) and allocating individual items to several handling units.
In addition to the standard packing of delivery items in handling units, you have the option of automatically packing a specific quantity into several different handling units.
Multi-level packing
You can pack handling units in one another. In this case, packing is multi-level. The number of possible packing levels is 999999.
Unpacking items that were already packed
Items that have already been packed can be unpacked again. This is also the case for handling units that were packed in multiple levels.
Responses to exceeding weight or volume
If the weight or volume limit is reached when packing items in handling units, then only the maximum packable partial quantity is packed. If you have selected another handling unit that has space for packing, the remaining quantities are packed into that handling unit.
Deleting handling units
Handling units can be deleted in the delivery. First, the handling unit that is to be deleted is unpacked and then it is removed from any higher-level handling units (if applicable) before it is actually deleted.
Emptying handling units
Handling units can be emptied out. Unlike unpacking, where only selected items are removed from the HU, here the handling unit in question is emptied completely.
Handling unit single entry
You can enter HUs and HU contents manually by using the single entry function.
Changing packing quantities
Changing the packing quantities is possible in various overviews. However, the packing quantities can no longer be changed after goods issue has been posted. In Customizing for packing, you can specify further conditions under which packing is not to be possible.
Creating delivery items from handling units
Delivery items can be created from handling units. In this way, it is possible to keep inventory for packaging materials and also to include packaging material in the invoice. To accomplish this, the system must generate delivery items for packaging materials, which must be set for the delivery type in Customizing, and the packaging material type must suggest delivery item generation as a default.
Displaying the Allowed packaging materials
You can display a list of all allowed packaging materials for an item to be packed, as long as the material group Packaging material is maintained in the packaging data in the material master for the material concerned.
Checking for allowed packaging materials
A check is carried out to make sure that the packaging material is intended for packing a certain material. Customizing for packing is used to control which packaging materials are allowed for packing.
Packing proposals in sales orders and scheduling agreements
It is possible to enter packing proposals in sales orders and scheduling agreements. These specifications automatically lead to a packing proposal in the delivery if a special data transfer routine is maintained in Customizing for copying control between the sales documents and the delivery. The packing proposal can be changed in the delivery. It is also possible to pack the delivery according to the packing proposal in the preceding document by using the Use proposal function in delivery processing.
Packing and decentralized Warehouse Management
If you are working with decentralized Warehouse Management, packing takes place in several steps.
The packing proposal that was determined in the central system is reported to the decentralized system.
The packing proposal can be copied or changed in the decentralized system, depending on the actual packing process.
With confirmation of the delivery to the central system, the original packing proposal is deleted and is replaced by the actual packing from the decentralized system.
Automatic packing and batch split
For a batch split in the delivery, you can set the item category in Customizing to indicate whether the entire batch quantity or only an individual batch item is to be packed.
If you enter " " in the Pack batch main item field and no split items are available, then no items are proposed for packing. If the delivery item contains an HU-managed storage location, this delivery item must be packed at the split level. In this case, the indicator (pack batch main item) is overridden.
If a packing proposal has been defined in the order for materials that are handled in batches, and if automatic batch determination is not carried out when a delivery is created, then this delivery is not automatically packed.
You must then pack this delivery manually (see also Automatic packing in the delivery).

Creating packing data from subsystems
It is possible to copy packaging data from subsystems to the delivery.
Cross-delivery packing in shipment processing
In shipment processing you can pack in the following ways:
Delivery items that have not been packed in the delivery and which are not required to be packed in the delivery can be packed.
Highest-level handling units in the delivery can be packed in shipment handling-units.
Since the packing depends on the shipment, different packing methods can be used in a follow-up shipment with the same deliveries. If a delivery HU is packed in a shipment HU, the entire contents of the handling unit in the delivery can no longer be changed. No storage units are created for shipment HUs.
The following diagram shows how handling units are packed in the delivery.

Design Infoobject with version maintenance

Hi,
We have a oralce as source system. A table material group with mat group id, version id and some other columns needs to be extracted to BW. For every material group, 4 version id's are maintained and for each version id a validity period and version number is mainatained in another table.
To design this in BW, The infoobject material group was created with attribute Version id. This did not work as the mat group is not unique without version id. If versionid is defined as compounding infoobject, every version will be available in the report for eachmat group. The requirement is that the mat group in the report should show the current version being used with the quantities consumed/procured.
Any ideas how to design this in BW.

load second table to a dso (version id, version n°, valid period)
Create the infoobject with version id as compound. add a infoobject ZCURVERS as an attribute to your infoobject.
when loading from the first table to your infoobject , read the dso date in a start routine, and with the help of the valid period, you can determine which version is the current one. if this is the case you put an X in ZCURVERS. So per material group, you'll have only one line where ZCURVERS = 'X'. Now in your report, you need to filter on ZCURVERS = 'X'.
this should do the trick, however some remarks:
- use semantic groups to have all lines of the same material group in the same pacakge
- you need to do full loads

Manditory steps are -
1. Define packing material type.
2. Define Material Group for Packaging Materials.
3. Define Allowed Packaging Materials.

1. Materia Group Packing Material. -
(Materials that require similar packaging materials.)
2. Packing Material Type -
(Kind of packing Material Required for packing)

Give packing material. select Material and Packing Materil and click on Pack.
It will pack the material and Do PGI
Returnable Packaging
Goto IMG - LOGISTICS EXECUTION - SHIPPING - PACKING -1.) DEFINE PACKAGING MATERIAL TYPES.
For Example Select V075 - Skeleton Box (Standard)
2.) DEFINE MATERIAL GROUP FOR PACKAGING MATERIALS
For Example select G010 - Skeleton Box (Standard)
3.) DEFINE ALLOWED PACKAGING MATERIALS
For Example G010 - Skeleton Box - V075 - Skeleton Box .
In the first step we have defined the type of the packaging whether it is a BOX, CONTAINER, PALLET etc
In the Second Step we have Created a group because if we have many number of Packaging Materials it is difficult assign each and every Packaging Material to a Material Master Instead we are a Group.
In the Third Step we are assigning all our Material Types i.e., BOX, CONTAINER, PALLET etc to a common Group. This Group is assigned in the Material Master. With this system will Understand that this Material should be Packed.
4.) Goto MM01 and Create Material Master with Material type LEIH - Returnable Packaging Material. Dont forget to maintain in the Basic Data 1 Tab in Packaging Material Data Section Material Group Packaging Material - G010.
In Sales:General Plant Data Tab
Packaging Material type - V075.
and Availability Check as KP - No Check.
Now again Goto MM01 and Create a Material Master and Create a Material with Material type FERT and dont forget to maintain in the Basic Data 1 Tab in Packaging Material Data Section Material Group Packaging Material - G010.
Now goto MB1C and post the stock for both the Materials.
Goto VK11 and Maintain Condition Records.
Goto VA01 and raise the Sales Order Specify Material to be packed. (i.e., Material created with Material type FERT)
Go to VL01N and Carry out outbound Delivery Select the Line Item and Goto EDIT in the Menu bar and Click on Pack and in the Packaging Materials field give the Packaging Material number and select the two line items and Goto EDIT in the Menu bar and Click on PACK and PACK.
Now go back and carry out Picking and PGI.
Goto VF01 and raise the Invoice.
Now Goto VA01 and Raise the Returns Order Document type AT and Specify Packaging Material and Carry out Outbound
Delivery.

Infoobject change in Production

Hi
We are in production. Now i want to change an infoobject Material Number, by attaching another char, Marketing Line as Nav.Attribute. Marketing line gets its data from a derivation, not extracted directly from R/3 like other chars (material no,...)
so will this impact my Production objects anyway ?
because i am just adding a object. not deleting it.
Anything can go wrong ?

Hello,
I believe not.
You just add a new characteristic as a nav. attribute and feed that attribute by a non SAP extractor.
Then you can use that nav. attribute whatever you want (in InfoProviders and queries).
