Infoobject not being present in MP

Guys,
If there is a multiprovider which has one cube and one master data infoobject. The cube has 0FiscalYear as its time char. However, in Multiprovider, there is nothing under Time Char. Would it be possible for me to use that 0Fiscal year that is present under that cube's time char but not on MP level?

Hello Ram,
Your question isn't very clear to me. Basically, it is all right if you want to use only a selected number of characteristics from the underlying infoproviders in a multiprovider. Others (that you do not include or do not identify from particular infoproviders) are not available for reporting. If your question isn't answered, please specify it more clearly.

Client certificate not being presented by Sun JDK

I have a requirement to connect to an external service provider (SP) using an https get.
The SP has a server certificate that I have imported to my trust store.
The SP issued a private key and an intermediate certificate that I have included in my keystore.
On running the application with IBM JDK1.5 the server responds with the error HTTP Error 403.7 - Forbidden: SSL client certificate is required"
However on running the same test application with IBM JDK1.4.2 I get the expected response from the client.
I have attached the contents of the keystore, the contents of thejava class that I am trying to connect with and and the command line options that I am using below.
Has any one encountered anything similiar?

What do you mean by the following:
That's probably because it can't find a certificate that matches the cipher suites and CAs specified in the Certificate Request message
Is there some way this can be resolved?

I have a new hard drive and itunes and my computer (windows XP) no longer recognise my ipod. I also had the problem with the registry keys not being present but this has now been fixed. However i can no longer link my ipod up with itunes.

When I first tried itunes with my new hard drive there was the problem with the registry keys but something also flagged up about needing a signed driver. Is this anything to do with why Itunes and my computer no longer recognises when my ipod is linked up? Whatever i try under 'devices' my ipod is never available to sync up. If anyone can help I would be most grateful.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately this has not worked. I didn't have quicktime to begin with so I don't know if that makes a difference? After following the instructions, I get the "registry keys missing" problem appear again (which I've subsequently fixed again) and then when I connected the ipod I got the following message - 'Device driver software was not successfully installed'.
I've tried windows update but this doesn't do anything as '...the service is not running'.
Any suggestions?

Popularity trend/usage report is not working in sp2013. Data was not being processed to EVENT STORE folder which was present under the Analytics_GUID folder.

I am working in a sharepoint migration project. We have migrated one SharePoint project from moss2007 to sp2013. Issue is when we are clicking on Popularity trend > usage report, it is throwing an error.
Issue: The data was not being processed to EVENT STORE folder which was present under the
Analytics_GUID folder. Also data was not present in the Analytical Store database.

I have verified few things in server which are mentioned below
Two timer jobs (Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Usage Data Processing, Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Usage Data Import) are running fine.
APPFabric Caching service has been started.
Analytics_GUID folder has been
shared with
WSS_ADMIN_WPG and WSS_WPG and Read/Write access was granted
.usage files are getting created and also the temporary(.tmp) file has been created.
uasage logging database for uasage data being transported. The data is available.
Please provide pointers on what needs to be done.

According to your description, my understanding is that you could not use popularity trend after you migrated SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2013.

Since updating to iTunes 11.1.4(62) both my iPhone 5 and iPad Air do not sync.hen I plug them into my lap top directly, using the USB cord, they don't even register with iTunes as being present. I am completely stumped. I had no problem before.

Multiproviders - InfoObject not present in cubes

Hello people, I have a question regarding MultiProviders data modelling.
I need to include an infoobject that is not phisically present in none of the base cubes, so that I can map it to an infoobject that is present in one of the cubes.
This is to avoid semantic problems, specifically I have to map a date infoobject to the 0CALDAY in one of the cubes, but I already have the 0CALDAY in my Multiprovider, mapped the the 0CALDAY in the other base cube.
What I see is that I can only choose infoobjects that are present in any of the base cubes to make the semantic definition of my multiprovider.. This does not make much sense to me, as I should be able to choose any infoobject for the definition of my multiprovider, as far as I do the proper assignments afterwards.. but it seems that this is not possible..
Please can anyone clarify this?

Pravender and Jaya thanks for the hints, but the scenario is not of the infoobject as a data provider, but as part of the base cubes (or DSO's in this case to be more specific).
But still feel something is missing.
Suppose a very simple case:
DSO 1 contains only InfoObjects A and B
DSO 2 contains only InfoObjects A and C.
If I need to create a multiprovider upon these two cubes, and InfoObject A conceptually represents different things in both DSO's although the tech name is the same (think about generic objects such as 0CALDAY or 0DOC_NUM)... then how do I create the multiprovider? Do I have to change phisically the InfoObject A in one of the cubes, or do I have to have to include phisically another InfoObject in any of them and leave it empty, just for the purpose of the mapping in the MultiProvider??
This is what I resist to believe, but I guess this must just be the case, at least for the moment.

Are you using the AC wall charger?

I am having a persistent problems with the application tabs i pin not being saved. sometimes, they are not present when i re-open the browser.

i have 3 sites i have repeatedly saved as an app tab. on the rare occasions i exit my browser, my pinned tabs are missing. furthermore, when i attempt to "restore previous session", the tabs that were open may be restored but the pinned tabs are ALWAYS missing and never restored.

Be sure you close Firefox properly File (or "Firefox") > Exit not with the "x" in the upper right corner.
Just because app-tabs will carry over from one session to another does not mean that they are fool proof or should be relied on., I keep mine in a bookmarks folder and replenish app-tabs from there when needed. It is also nice to have the "Tab Handler" to work with tabs and change all or a selection of tabs to app-tabs at once.

Home directory is not being backed up in Time Machine

Problem: It turns out my home directory does not have any backups in Time Machine for the last year. I've never received any error message indicating it wasn't doing the full backup.
Goal: I'd like to get Time Machine to back up my home folder (which contains 100% of the content I care about) again, ideally in a way where I can keep my history from the last time it backed up successfully.
How I found out:
- I opened Time Machine and realized all the "pink bars" were dimmed all the way back up to Sept. 2011 when I navigated to my home folder or any folder within it.
- I cloned a file within my home folder, did a manual Time Machine back up, opened Time Machine and verified that the backup volume did not contain the cloned file.
- I did this again while watching the Console and verified that it did not make a large enough backup to include the cloned file.
- I explored all the backups in Finder and realized that indeed all the backups that corresponded to the dimmed pink bars in Time Machine had no home folder.
- I did an "ls -a" in the backup volume in Terminal and realized that it was not the case that the home directory was present but merely hidden.
What I've tried:
- I created a new admin account, logged into that and did a manual Time Machine backup from there. The new account was backed up, while the original home directory still wasn't. This continues to be true in subsequent backups made while logged into the main account.
- I examined the exclusions list in Time Machine preferences. The only items were the backup volume itself and another partition of that external drive I use for other backups, as expected.
- I did a "Full Reset of Time Machine" (http://pondini.org/TM/A4.html), with a reboot before re-enabling Time Machine. The plist file did change to become much simpler, but the home folder is still not being backed up.
Other notes:
- I run Dropbox, and have those contents in a folder one level under the home directory
- I run Git
- The existing backups have only used 500GB or so of a 1TB partition, so it's not filling up.
- I ran Verify Disk in Disk Utility on both my backup volume and the mac's HD. The backup volume appeared OK, but the mac HD was "found corrupt and needs to be repaired". I could boot into the Recovery HD and repair it, but I feel like this is a risk and I'd like to have a working backup before I do that (I don't have another external HD around to make a temporary backup). Could the corrupted drive be the reason Time Machine has been silently skipping the home folder?
- My home folder is named "apple". Might this be a problem? I'd rename it, but that's a risk and I'd like a verified backup before doing that.
- The Time Machine plist file in /Library/Preferences is pretty hard to read in pico, TextEdit, etc (maybe this is normal?)
I've scoured the forums and pondini's very thorough troubleshooting pages to no avail. Please let me know if anyone has ideas. Thanks.

Latest update: Bought a new external harddrive, set that up as the new Time Machine volume, but got the exact same results (all but my main user directory are backed up). This is after another Time Machine reset (deleting the .plist), starting up in Safe Mode, and trying to initiate the backup from both the account that doesn't get backed up and another administrator account.
Here is some of the output from the Console when filtering messages for "backupd":

Put the relevant parts in bold. No messages about why it only backed up 21.54GB when it found 470.25GB that needed to get backed up.

Target parameter is not being used

Hello,
while activating the transformation, i get an error saying" Target parameter 0058 is not being used". I have checked all the rules, infoObjects etc. but still im not able to activate the transformation at all.
Eventhough the source field-target field mapping is correct, the system is throwing such errors. What could be the possible cause of it. Any idea?

What do you mean by "the respective field not having the Unit/Curr Objects"..?..some of them are of the type "number" whereas others are CHARS.
Everytime when i add some field i cannot re-create the whole transformation. There has to be some inconsistency as my mapping of source-target field is correct. I have also raised this to OSS but as usual they are taking thier own sweet time to reply.
Surprisingly the transformation got activated yesterday and the dataload too was successful. Today again the same ols problem of "parameter is not being used"..!!
still could you pls throw some light on Unit/Currency objects that u mentioned..??

Before I updated to OS X Mavericks I was using another external disk that was getting disconnected ocasionally so I bought a new ADATA HD710 portable 1TB Drive and moved the files to it. This new drive which is supposed to be OS X Mavericks compatible takes minutes to show the files especially when opening second and third level folders which has made mu iMac unusable
What should I do?

Your Mac should be able to recognize many different types of drives (including Windows-formatted drives) immediately for Reading, provided they are in good working condition and not damaged. There should be no need to transfer to a different type of drive.
If there is no recognition of this drive, see if it can be seen in Disk Utility.
If your aim is to transfer the data on it DO NOT use ERASE or PARTITION as these will completely erase all the information on the Drive.
If the drive is present while the Mac sleeps, it is likely to drop out and not be seen any longer, especially if it is a USB-powered drive.

My IPOD is not being recognised by my Alpine CDE 113BT Headunit. I have reset both my IPOD & Headunit & still not connection. I have tried one other Ipod & I Phone with no problems. An Error Message - 01 came on the display the last time it was connected. Any ideas.

XMP files not being created with DNGs...

I'm used to using Bridge with ACR to process Nikon NEFs. But a recent camera update has me experimenting with converting the D3's NEFs to DNG files and editing them with CS2 and Bridge 1.04 which works better on my system. I've also experimented with CS3 and Bridge 2.1.1.9 with the same DNG files.
In both cases XMP files are not being created when working with DNG files. I have enabled "Save image settings in : Sidecar ".xmp" files" turned ON. But they do not seem to be generated and I assume the ACR adjustments are being embedded in the DNG file. Meanwhile doing edits on NEF files continues to create .xmp files as expected.
I find .xmp files to be very useful and I'm wondering why they're missing with DNG files? Are they hiding somewhere other than in the same folder that the images reside in?

Aww, yuck!! That's a real drag...
When editing lots of files (yesterday's shoot produced 8GB) I back everything up to off-line storage and then, after doing all my edits and crops in ACR, I only have to copy over the small XMP files which takes no time at all.
So if I re-edit the DNG with ACR I have to re-copy ALL the files again to the off-line storage.
I used to sometimes even save 2 versions of the xmp files when I needed 2 different crops of the same images, such as doing a wide screen 'cinema' crop for a corporate client's Intranet presentation of their event, as well as more standard crops to be used for their newsletters.
Guess I won't be using DNG any more..
