InfoObjects Key disappeared after BW support packages applied
Hi.
We have a serious problem, after we applied BW support packages (7.0110) all our infoobjects that are created as text only, no master data, are only displaying the text. The objects key is empty. Do anybody have a solution for this?

We have found a work around for the problerm for know and here it is:
5.1.3 Optimizing detail object syntaxFor queries on BI universes that include only the key and medium name detail objects of adimension, it is possible to modify the generated syntax of the objects to improve queryperformance, due to some internal details of the OLAP BAPI interface.To modify the syntax:
1.Open the universe in Designer.
2.Double click the key detail object you want to modify.
3.In the Select text box on the "Definition" tab of the "Edit Properties" dialog box, changethe syntax to refer to the NAME attribute of the SAP characteristic.For example, for the objectL01 Customer Key , change the generated select syntax:[Z_CUSTOM].[LEVEL01].[[2Z_CUSTOM]].[Value] to refer to the NAME attribute:[Z_CUSTOM].[LEVEL01].[NAME]4.ClickOKto save the changes.5.Follow the same steps for the name object. Change the syntax to refer to theDESCRIPTION attribute of the SAP characteristic.

To get the TDS certificate in a new format (funvtionality) we have to apply new support package.

The customer themes not working after installing support package.
Hi,
In a Web dynpro ABAP aplication that i made in a project, we have a customer theme. We transported the development of a new host that had a higher level of support package, and it has stopped working properly the customer theme. We´ve gone from 7.0 sp 9 to sp 20. Well, when you run the programa WD_THEMES, in the ALV appeared to me not the customer theme. So I exported the standar themes and with Eclipse, I´ve copied and re-created the customer theme by modifying the latter.
Once changed, I try exporting to the test environment and it is here that the level of support package was sp18. I could not import it because the version was not the same.In the development environment was 7.0.19.1 and in the test environment was 7.0.15.1.
The question that comes to me is when we have a customer theme in a environment and upgrade the level of support package, is the version of all themes listed in the program updated or only the standar themes?. If this is so, if we upgrade the level of support package we will have to re-export the standar themes, copy one of theme and go back to redo our theme, right?.

Let me clarify on "Not working"
It showned synchrozation successuffly but no data transfer between client and middleware and vs. For instance, the user never receive any new work orders, or their times never got transfered back to R/3. Even though, there is no error on the client.
It appear that step 1-4 are required otherwise, you get ABAP Runtime error (using ST22):
Runtime Error CALL_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND
Except. CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_FUNC

After we performed step 1-4 but there were data transfer between client and R/3. The only way to get it working, we had to delete client and re-assign MAM 2.5 back to each users.
No, we didn't apply client patch SP19. We are still using SP16.
As we speak, everything is working because we had to re-assign MAM 2.5 for every users. but I hope we don't have to do this next time we apply another Support Package.

Unable to login to sap after importing support package

It would be better if you can give a little more information as to which system and version did you apply support pack to? What was the SPAM support pack level? At what phase did the SAPKBxx11 support pack terminated? What OS are you running on? Also, please check if any transports are still running at the 'OS' level.

???? in Menu Bar after upgrading support packages
Hi All,
I have upgraded the support packages from Stack 16 to Stack 20 for my ECC 5.0
Every functionality is fine after the upgrade. But when our consultant tries to check the material in transaction MB52, in the next screen we see some ?????? in the menu items which is supposed to have some options in letters. The functionality is fine when we click on it knowing the option which is supposed to be there.
Assuming that it is the issue with the GUI, we have upgraded our GUI to 710 patch level 4 which is the latest available. Still no luck.
Can anyone help me with this. This is holding our upgrade on quality.

I resolved this myself. We just need to get to the screen shere the ???? show up and go to SYSTEM >> STATUS
Under SAP Data, double click on GUI Status > STANDARD
Select the Application Toolbar and click on Activate.
This should solve the issue.

Custom application is not working after the support package upgrade.

I have upgraded the portal from SP09 to SP25 successfully. But after the upgrade our custom application is not behaving as before. When we submit anything in the custom page its returning to home page. No error in the log files also.
Custom application is a devoloped in webdynpro java.

Application of support pack can be trated as mini upgrade. Just go through all the documents regarding upgrade.
You need to go through the transaction SPDD and SPAU after the support pack applied.
also check if there are any transport request related to note application are still pending then move them to production otherwise they may cause issues.
Also check for the Z program which are copy of the standard are working fine or not.
Revert if further query.

Undoing changes made by support package application
Hi
Is there a way to undo changes made to repository objects and dictionay objects after you have imported a support package.
Let us consider this with an example. Let us assume that there is a standard SAP report called S1 v1. Which after a support package application and after confirming the queue it becomes S1 v2. Now if for some reason after say 2-3 days we are not comfortable with S1 v2 and want S1 v1 again can we get back the old standard SAP report. If so then how?
Also if there is a change made in a Dictionary object, is there a way to revert these changes on a similar line? Id so then how.

If you have maintained versions for perticular report then you can revert it back to the previous version.
Ask your ABAPer for the same.
You can always retrieve the previous version if you have maintained the version.
It is applicable for the dictionary objects too, but you may loose data in case of changing version for database tables.

MAM Not Working After Applying Support Package
We have been lived with MAM 2.5 with SP16 for almost a year now. We recently applied support package 19 for ABAP and J2EE stacks but MAM stopped working right after that. To fix the problem we had to do the following steps:
1. Disable all SyncBO
2. Regenate all SyncBO
3. Run Replicate Database
4. Enable all SyncBO
5. Delete MAM 2.5 client by WebConsole for all PDA (over 100 devices)
6. Re-Assign MAM 2.5 client back to PDA from WebConsole
My question is do we have to perform those steps above every time we are applying new support package? If it is a case, it's very time consuming because we have to manually perform step 5-6 for every users.
Does anyone have seen or experience this scenario before? Your comment is highly appreciated.

Unable to Login & Ececute any transaction after Applying Support Package
Dear all,
After applying SAP_BASIS Packs (SAPKB700..) support pack from level 15 to 18, the it got cancelled and when i try to execute any transaction i am receiving ABAP dump "syntax_error".
When i try to login i m getting the following msg. " Syntax error in program "SAPLSDOC ""..
SAME MESSAGE IS POSTED IN 2007 BUT NO ANSWER
Unable to login after applying patches

Error in the phase IMPORT_PROPER while applying support packages

I am on ECC 6.0(ABAP+JAVA) SR2, SUSE Linux 10 SP1, DB2.
I have successfully applied the kernel patch and started applying the support packages, i have successfully completed applying the ABAP, Basis, BW, HR and other related patches, but i am not sure why i am stuck at the import_proper phase when applying the SAP_APPL patches (SAPKH60008 and SAPKH60009 both in the same queue) and my tp log is as follows

And also when i look at the Support package import logs they show that
TEST IMPORT
Import ABAP Dictionary Objects and
ABAP Dictionary Activation phases ended with return code 4
But i dont think this can give any problem.
I have tried to import from the phase where it stopped, but all of a sudden i get disconnected from SAP and get an error message saying that NO CONNECTION TO THE DATABASE, then when i check for the processes for dw and db2 there are process already running.
I had to start SAP and only then i was able to connect to the SERVER again.
Can you please help me on this..

I deleted the import request in the STMS and wi ran the RDDIMPDP and RDDMNTAB reports and restart the SPAM, but this time the SPAM immediately stopped, but i am still connected to the system and the error which i got earlier (database connection error ) is now not occuring.
But otherwise also i noticed that i get the following ABAP Dump while this error is triggering
