InfoPackages in PM Business Content

Hi,
We have activated the business content of PM, QM and MM modules in BW.
While activating, we observed that the most of the infopackages are not available in the business content for the available info sources. We were able to activate infopackages only for 2LIS_17_NOTIF infosource.
All other infosources are activated but without any infopackages.
Can anyone please help, whether the infopackages for these infosource are available in business content OR do we need to create it manually.
Please advise.

Yah, for most of the Infosources, infopackages are not defined. There is nothing in creating custom infopacakges. You can go ahead.

Usually we will create our own info Packages based on our requirements like what cubes or ODS it should load also it is Delta/init/full. All these settings could be done in our info Packages based on our requirements.

Business Content & Infopackages

We are using the BC Infocube 0CCA_C11.
I'm looking at the Infosource Overview for this cube and I can see there are several elements of Text / Attributes / Master Data that need data uploading to it.
But when I look at the datasources for some of these things Business Content seems to have supplied Infopackages for somethings and not others. Why is this?
For example for the datasource for 0COSTCENTER texts there are three Infopackages created from BC (Why 3? Initial, Delta and AXA??) but when I look at the datasource for 0CO_REPLINE texts there are no Infopackages created. Do I just create my own in this case?
Any explanations greatly appreciated.

If you see different info packages for the same info source, they are meant to load initial / full, delta.
If you dont find info packages for any info source, you may have to create them.

Unable to Activate Infocube from Business Content BI 7.0

Hi,
While activating an infocube from the business content I am getting the error "OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED"."The current ABAP program "CL_RSD_IOBJ_VERS==============CP" had to be
terminated because it has come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed."
This is applicable to all the cubes .I am working in BI 7.0.Could you please let me know incase you have come across a similar error.

Errors while installing Business Content

Hi,
It is new system, When I am trying to install any Infocube it has given Runtime error OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED. Then implemented the SAP note 1019055.
To Install Business Content I am following: Grouping: In Data flow before and After wards, Collection Mode- Collect Automatically, Source System Assignment and Install .
Now when I am trying to install I am getting these errors
Process LOADING, variant 0PAK_0U36G4BPCOA4BN43PFVZU3A97 has been saved in target system under name1
Process LOADING, variant 0PAK_0AWN44OD08M313H1SIIA96HT7 has been saved in target system under name 1

A type "Attribute Change Run" process has to follow process "Execute InfoPackage" var.0PAK_0AWN44OD08M313H1SIIA96HT7 in the chain
A type "Data Transfer Process" process has to follow process "Execute InfoPackage" var.0PAK_0AWN44OD08M313H1SIIA96HT7 in the chain
Process variant LOADING 0PAK_0MPC1AWCV7TGZ1CJ843SRIJZD does not exist in version A
InfoPackage no longer exists in object version A in table RSLDPIO

There many errors of this type.
How to solve the problem. Please help me.

Hi Jaswantha,
Installing Business Content Cube would usually require "Grouping" as "Select In Data Flow Before".
This is as per my observations so far according to SAP Best Practices.
Pls. try this and get back.

Finding data in a datasource/ Business Content Query

Hello,
can you help me with this one -- background to this problem is shown below:
Question:
1.
No data was found in my infocube so I went o R3 to see if the datasource had any data in it by running rsa3 but found no datasource 2LIS_02_S012, although rsa5 shows that it exists. What could be happening?
2.
Also, how do I see the queries which come with the InfoCube? When I go into BEx, I see the dimensions to create my own queries, but where are the ones which comes with the Business content for me to use?
Background to Questions----
I was experimenting with an MM InfoCube 0PUR_C01, and my research indicated that the datasource which supplies this this infocube with data is 2LIS_02_S012. The notes on this datasource indicates it could be extracted as a standard extraction or LO. I did standard, rsa5, rsa6, etc...replicated in BW, etc.
I later created and InfoCube zpur_c01 and copied from 0pur_co1, etc. ...then later created and infopackage and loaded data into the InfoCube for the purposes of reporting.

To answer your first question.
- The datasource 2lis_02_s012 that you have seen in rsa5 is in the delivered version you need to transfer this into the active version. Select the datasource in rsa5 and click the transfer datasource button. After you have done this you will see the datasource in rsa6.
Also since this datasource is a Logistics Info Structure the LIS reporting should have been activated and in use.
For your second question
- If you have already identified a standard business content query that you want to use through the metadata repository, you can activate the report through the business content tab in rsa1.

I have read so many answers and papers giving the steps how to transfer,replicate and extract business content, that is all fine and very helpful. I apologise for very long topic, but I think answers to this would help loads of learners like and everyone would be grateful to you(all).

Answer:Business content has infoobject, ods, infocube, queries in "D" version.
SAP delivers the BI Content objects in a new D Version.
Before you can work with BI Content objects, you have to convert them from the SAP delivery version (D version) into the active version (A version).
R/3 Side:

Ans: Once install it it will be available in Active version accroding to the component it has been assigned(SD or CRM). otherwise it will be in Unassigned Node.

How to change Selection Criteria for a Business Content Data Source

Hi Experts
I am extracting data using 0CO_OM_CCA_9 Datasource. I would like to be able to select a range of Company Code (BUKRS) to pull in, but I cannot find a way to make certain fields available as selection criteria. When I go into "Change DataSource", I can unselect fields, and even select certain fields, but the option for most is grayed out.
How can I make this field available as selection criteria in Infopackage?

Its not that simple to enable a new selection for a Business Content Datasource, if its not already provided by SAP. Enabling new fields for selection should be accompanied by corresponding extractor code changes to process those field selections and use those selections throughout the extraction process.
Solution for your problem would be create a custom extractor with all the logic of standard extractor (function module BWOMD_GET_CTRCSTA1 for 0CO_OM_CCA_9) and extra logic to process the new fields for selection.

Installing business content for 0MKT_DSO1/0CRM_LEAD_H

Hi
I am getting an error whilst installing the business content for any DSO/Infocube.
Grouping
In data flow before.
Error : Rule (target: 0GN_PAR_LSY, group: 01 Standard Group): Syntax error in routine
where as same DSO whilst acitivated wiht diff source system has no errors.
Old source system 199 - No error whilst acitvation business content - (SANDBOX)
New source system 200- error whilst acitvation business content - (DEV)
If Grouping
Only necessary objects are selected above error is not there.
But when after new transfer rules have been created and when infopackage is run, i get another error
error : DataSource 0CRM_LEAD_H is not defined in the source system
Now no data loads for new source system.

On your source system use Tcode RSA6 to verify if DataSource 0CRM_LEAD_H is active, if not activate it using Tcode RSA5.

Active transactional datasources not listed in business content collection

Dear experts,
for SRM bidding engine i have activated the extractors in SRM through transaction RSA5 and put them on a transport. Replicated them in BW and their they are appearing correctly, activated them and provided infopackages.
Now when i want to activate Business Content SRM role SAP_BW_SRM_ACT_BE and after grouping look for the transactional datasources, they are not listed in the list of objects (grouped 'before and after', collection 'automatic').
1.Is this normal and do i need to make the links between datasources and infosouces myself after activating the role?
2.or does it normally installs the entire flow correctly?
Also weird - my datasources are BI7.0 and some of my BW SRM content is from older 3.x version, containng infosources and communications structures. Can this be the reason why Business Content grouping does not find the datasources?

looked at the note but did not provide more info as i already applied what is written in the note.
This role for bidding engine after I have put it into the collective window, among the other objects it will activate it does not list the datasources of the transactional data, nor the links to the infosources.
Installing it like this will require me to connect the datasources manually to the dataflow, which i want to avoid.
Is there a way to make BW connect the transactional datasources of SRM Bidding Engine connect automatically with the business content BW flow of Bidding Engine? this i though would be done by collecting it (before and after), grouping (automatically).

Business content load data from multiple clients

we are implementing Business Content for FI-GL. On the system there is already the content enabled and the extraction from one client (let's say Client200). We now have to extract data from Client300. How can we do that?

You should create another Source system on the other client and copy the transfer rules from the extractor mapping them on the other source system . After this you can create the infopackage and load data

Source System Assignment while Installing Business Content

Hi,
I have a new R/3 source system in BW (one R/3 system already exists). When I'm installing business content for say an Infosource and before, even with a succesful install , the new source system assignment is not taking place in the infosource and neither are the packages (for the new source system) being installed. The datasource (for the new source system) remains unassigned.

with your new R/3 source system are you able to see the datasources - using right clik on source system & then select datasources overview. IF not then you need to check if the source system connection is done with metadata repository replication or not. If that is also done then ensure that you have installed all business content datasources using RSA5 in your R/3 system.
On BW side, while installing transfer rules and infopackages, make sure that this new R/3 source system is checked on in source system Box - X icon on business content screen. Then only you would be able to see transfer rules and infopackages & install them.

Problem in installation of Business Content for Solution Manager

Hi all,
I have a problem while trying to install the Business Content for Solution Manager. In detail, I cannot install/ see the Process chains. I am not much familiar with Business content installation, so maybe I missed and /or some step.
Following the instructions from SAP IMG (SPRO/ SAP IMG / Solution Manager / Configuration / Scenario-specific settings / Solution monitoring / BI Reporting / BI Client) , I activated the Datasource 0SM_SMG_ROOT , performed all the steps and installed all the relevant Business Objects (Infoobjects, Datasources, Infocubes, Infopackages, etc.). All the objects seen from transaction RSA1 seem correctly installed and activated.
The last step is the installation/activation of the Process chains. This step is executed, but the installation job terminates with messages like Infopackage 0SM_XXXX does not exist in D version; activation not possible. It seems like Process chains are looking for some Infopackage, and these are not present. They are not present indeed, and I dont know why. The result is that no Process chain is visible from transaction RSPC.
Am I missing some step, or doing a wrong/ incomplete procedure ?

For Solman Service Desk, the following objects are used :
Cube : 0CSRV_C01
DSO : 0CRM_PROH
DataSource : 0CRM_SRV_PROCESS_H
And apart from this there are some MD datasources, for BPARTNER, USER STATUS, CATEGORY etc.

Difference between Business content of 2004 and 2004s

Hi all,
I was looking at the Business Content delivered with BI 2004 (BW 3.5)and BI 2004s (BW 7) for Payroll at the below links. It seemed they are almost the same.
Can anyone tell me if there is any major difference between the two (specifically for Payroll) in terms of objects delivered with the business content, data flow, data model, cube design etc.

I am activating a package that contains InfoSources with UDC data sources. I would like to use the Infosources and Infopackages out of the box if possible:
Scenario 1:
J2EE RFC and JNDI name will be the same as defined in Business content InfoSources
Result:
After activating BCT, UDC enabled Infosources & Infopackages are ready to use out of the box
(Is that correct?)
Scenario 2:
J2EE RFC and JNDI name will not be the same as defined in Business content InfoSources (most likely)
Action to be taken:
User needs to create new UDC datasources for Infosources and create new Infopackages
(Is this correct)
