InfoPath Filler 2010 will not open a form in SharePoint 2013

I'm having a problem with the coexistence of SharePoint 2013 and Office 2010, specifically InfoPath.
We are running SharePoint 2013 Standard, so we do not have access to web-enabled InfoPath forms, which is okay since all of our client machines have InfoPath Filler as part of their Office 2010 install.
The problem is I have created a form and published it to a SharePoint 2013 library but when I try to create a new document in the library I get a page cannot be displayed error or the page just hangs.
However, as a troubleshooting step, I installed InfoPath 2013 on my client machine and when I access the library and create a new document it opens the form successfully.
I've changed the settings of the library so it uses the client application instead of trying to open in the browser, I've changed the trust settings to every possible configuration I can think of but I cannot get InfoPath 2010 to open a form published to
SharePoint 2013.
Is this a known compatibility issue, a bug, or am I missing something?
Thanks,
Kevin

I encountered this issue recently. Some of our suers have upgraded to Office 2013 but a lot still are on office 2010. I did not want a solution that relied heavily on the users to do something, like upgrade to 2013 or modify 2010. That's not ideal.
I realized the solution was very simple. I edited the InfoPath template within the document library in sharepoint > Form Options > Compatibility, change it to InfoPath filler form 2010. It still works for me and I have version 2013, so now it allows
users with older versions to use it as well. I confirmed with the affected users that they can now access the form.

  • Acrobat will not open a form

    This is a weird one.
As of last week, my acrobat pro will not open a "form".
Unless I disconnect from the network, then it opens fine.
The form can be opened on any other computer in the company but not this one, if it's connected to the network.
    What I have done.
    Uninstalled, and re-installed.
    Uninstalled the network software reinstalled
The only think I have not done is reinstall the entire OS.
    Ideas anyone?
    thanks!
    Nancy

What does "will not open" mean? Is there an error message of some kind?
Does this only happen with one file, or with all files?
Is this file located on a network drive? If so, what happens if you copy it to your local computer and try to open it?
What's your exact version of Acrobat and OS?

  • My Microsoft Word Starter 2010 will not open

My Microsoft Word Starter 2010 will not open at all. Every single time I click on the icon in the start menu or on the desktop, this window opens and says "Click to Run Configuration Failure". What does that mean. Why won't it open? Please help
me, before I start uninstalling things in my control panel.

    Hi,
When you see the error "Click to Run Configuration Failure", please try a repair of the install from Control Panel -> Programs and Features:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/update-repair-or-uninstall-office-click-to-run-products-HA010382089.aspx
Or we should re-associate Office file, such as .docx file:
    1. Open Default Programs from Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs.
    2. Click Associate a file type or protocol with a program.
    3. Click .docx file type.
    4. Click Change program.
    5. Choose Microsoft Word as default program.
    6. Click OK.
Moreover, if the steps above don't help, you can also refer to this link, whose solution has helped some users:

  • Outlook 2010 will not open

I have Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010. I've had issues with a problem in outlook where file was being generated in my PST folders everytime I opened outlook. I read where I should disable Norton Anti-Spam and it worked to allow me to delete the
folders and not get any new ones. I thought I should try uninstalling MS Office and reloading it. I used the Control Panel to remove the program but it only partially removed Office and stopped. I then used FixIt and removed more of Office and got most of
it but it stopped at the end too. I could not totally remove whatever remained of office but it looked like it was all gone. I also have Visio 2010 and Project 2010 and did not attempt removing those yet. When I tried to re-install office I got an error about
legacy groove SW that needed to be removed first. I couldn't find a way to do it. I then read I could do a custom install and install everything in office except SharePoint Workspace. I did that and it seemed to work.  Everything worked except Outlook.
So then I added features to the suite by custom install of SharePoint Workspace only. All seemed to work. But Outlook still will not open. I get an error that states: Cannot open your default email folders. An unexpected error has occurred. MAPI was unable
to load the information service mspst.dll. Be sure the service is correctly installed and configured. I have Windows 7 Home Premium.  What should I do?

    Hi,
Go to C:\Windows\System32 and double click on Fixmapi.exe, it won't give you any message, just reboot computer and try again.
If this issue persists, create a new profile in Control Panel -> Mail to check the result:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918/en-us
If this issue still persists, we need to uninstall Office completely, then re-install it.
Once you finished uninstalling Office, please also delete the following registry keys:

  • Lync 2010 Will Not Open Anymore

The problem is happening so far on three Windows 7 computers that used to be able to open Lync, but not anymore. Click the program icon to launch the program and the sign in box appears but Lync stalls at contacting server and signing in. A Lync message
appears, "Cannot sign in because the server is temporarily unavailable.  If the problem continues, please contact your support team."
    Steps taken to resolve
    1) Verified the certificate hadn’t expired
    2) Deleted communicator folders in both folder locations, c:\users\username\app data\local\microsoft and c:\users\username\app data\roaming\microsoft
    3) Deleted the SSID folders
    4) Tried the manual configuration to connect to Lync by entering the sip domain name for the internal and external server names
    5) Restarted pc, and also shut down the pc.
    6) Logged onto a different pc as myself and Lync 2010 opens for me.  When another end-user log onto my pc, they duplicate the same issue with Lync stalling and not opening and receive the same error message.
    7) Uninstalled and reinstalled Lync

    Hi,
Please double check if the client trust the CA that issued the certificate on Lync server.
Please disable firewall on your issued local workstation to check if the issue caused by ports.

I am running OSX version 10.7.3 and Outlook 2010on a Mac Book Pro. When I attempt to open Outlook, it bounces and then flashes quickly on the screen but then quickly disappears.

Make sure Microsoft Office is up to date. You can do this buy going to Help menu and "Check for updates". If that doesn't resolve it I would recommend removing it and reinstalling it.

  • Acobat XI: PDF's will not open in Office 2010.

I have recently installed Acrobat XI om my computer With Microsoft Office 2010. PDF's on internett in Office 2010 will not open, why not?

In fact, none of the Microsoft Office 2010 applications have any capability of opening PDF files.
For Microsoft Office 2013, Word does have an ability to open PDF files, creating a Word document from same. That having been said, the fidelity of such conversions is very poor, especially when any graphics are involved.
Alternatively, Acrobat does provide a means of exporting PDF files to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint formats with the caveat that you will likely need to do editing of the result for meaningful use. The results are certainly much better than can be achieved by Word 2013's PDF opening capability!

  • InfoPath 2013 form will not open in browser

    Greetings All,
I have a scenario where I have created a InfoPath 2013 form and it will not open in the browser; it always opens it in the rich InfoPath client.
The only thing I have done differently here is to apply a content type, from the content type hub, to the form library.  I am doing this because I was to reference the same content type in a records center; which would allow me to easily move instances
of the form data file to a records library.
When I exclude the whole custom content type thing, the form publishes and can be opened in the browser without issue.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you in advance...

Hi Bob, at the risk of sounding too obvious, do you have your library set to open documents in the browser, and in the InfoPath settings?
    cameron rautmann
    Hi Cameron,
Yes, it is.  What I have been able to determine is; there is something special about the Form content type.  If I create my own content type, derived from From, it won't work.  Very weird.

Version 4 is oh so old.
The IRS and many other providers of forms are using products like LIveCycle which require at least version 7.05.
Saving, Filling, and Printing PDF Files
We use Adobe Acrobat PDF files as a means to electronically provide forms & publications. You will need to have the Adobe Reader software installed to access them (available FREE from the Adobe Reader download page on Adobe's Web site). We recommend using the most recent version of Adobe Reader.

It will not delete from my trash as it is saying "Japanese.lproj" is in use. I have never opened or used "Japanese.lproj". I can't delete ITunes or open ITunes to close the Japanese.lproj, what do I do? Thank you for any help you can provide..

It will not delete from my trash as it is saying "Japanese.lproj" is in use. I have never opened or used "Japanese.lproj".
Interesting. This sort of thing is more common on Windows systems. Taken at face value, one of the iTunes program files (one of the Japanese language resources) is damaged.
I'd try running your Disk Utility over your startup disk. Does it find/repair any damage? If so can you empty your trash and reinstall your iTunes successfully now?

  • Acrobat Connect Pro 7.5 will not open MS Outlook 2010

I have recently updated my OS to Windows 7. Acrobat Connect Pro 7.5 will not open MS Outlook 2010 with the preformatted email message after submitting via the Email Invitations button. MS Internet Explorer 8.0 goes to a blank page. Is there a compatibility issue with Acrobat Connect Pro 7.5, MS Outlook 2010, and/or Windows 7?

You were running a non-Intel version on an Intel Mac. You might not have run into problems before but it was only a matter of time. You cannot run an old version and then install brand new versions of ProKit and QuickTime - it will just break.
So you can either reinstall everything from scratch and then just keep it as it is without ever installing software updates, or you can upgrade to FCP 7. I recommend the latter.
