Infopath Form Crashes Recipients Computer

Dear Microsoft,
I created an Infopath form on 2010 on a shared drive.  And I am publishing it to a sharepoint site.  There are multiple tables in the form, and multiple submit buttons in the form.  The submit buttons send the form to an email address.
Sometimes, the recipients of the form are unable to open it.  Their computer spins and spins and sometimes needs to be restarted.  Can you help me fix this issue?
Thank you, Colleen
ps - I love Infopath!

Hello,
Is it client based or browser based form? Also tell whether you are sending infopath template in email or not.

  • Infopath form crashes when selecting second lookup field

    Hi there,
I suffer from a strange behaviour in sharepoint 2010. I created an infopath form, which (besides lots of other fields) includes two lookup fields (1 and 2) which points to the same data list. Moreover there's a third lookup field (field 3) which also points
to that data and is meant to be the filter for cascading dropdown. When I select a value from field 3, the data in field 1 and 2 is filtered according to the selected value. When I select a value in field 1 everything is allright. Then the selected entry from
field 2 is removed from data of field 3 using data filter. When I select a value from field 3 the form crashes (which means the rendering crashes). All fields disappear and oly the red stars of required fields are shown. When I click the cancel button, all
fields appear again ald the value is selected. Also when I move around the form panel, the fields are shown again. This problem only appears in IE. When I tried this in Google Chrome, everything works just fine. Also in the InfoPath preview it works. I am
    using IE 11.
    Thanks for your help
    Cheers,
    Magnus

    Hi Magnus,
As this issue only appears in IE, it seems to be a client issue.
In general, for this issue, we do that:
Add the site into IE Trusted Sites.
Add the site into Compatibility View.
Whether you try to use IE 10 mode in IE 11. If not, pelase have a try.
Please test on other machines, compare the result.
Please use IE 10 to test, compare the result.

  • Form crashing - MAC Computer

    Hi there,
I am trying to complete what I believe is a dynamic form using Adobe reader and the form keeps crashing unexpectedly, and I lose all information entered. I’m using a new Mac and the latest version of adobe reader.
I have inserted a image of the error message I receive when the form crashes.
Please can anyone help to resolve this problem?
    Many thanks in advance
    Lee

To repair permissions (this is the first thing to try when you have big problems with OS X), go to Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility and click your hard drive in the list on the left, then click Repair Permissions. This takes forever in 10.5, just a century or so in 10.6, so don't fret--let it finish.
EDIT Oh, and there will be lots of messages like "xxx was altered and will not be repaired"--don't worry about anything that you see in the window after you're done except a major overall fail to repair anything.
For the combo updater, what version of OS X are you running now?

  • Complete InfoPath form without InfoPath external customer

I have installed and setup SharePoint 2013 Enterprise and have been using InfoPath form libraries without any issues
I need to create a form that our customers will complete but not all of our customers will have InfoPath installed.
I tried to use the email form but did not show the form in Outlook, instead it just displayed the xml code
My question is what is the best type of from to create and how to allow external customers to view and complete the form
    Thanks

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want users to create and view an InfoPath form when the computer doesn't install InfoPath application. Is it right?
You can design the form using InfoPath in your computer, then publish the form to a SharePoint site. And when you publish, make sure you select "Enable this form to be filled out by using browser". Then after you publish it, users can create or
view or edit the form using browser.

  • Rich text box used in Infopath Form not displaying option to get images from Computer

    Hello,
We have used "Rich text box" in Infopath Form which is not displaying option to get images from Computer.
Options available are : From Address, From SharePoint
But if we Rich text box in list, then it works fine with "From Computer" option.
can you please help me out to get this option.
    Thanks in advance.
    REgards,
    Jayashri

    Hi,
From your description, there is no “From Computer” option to get images with rich text box in InfoPath form.
Per my knowledge, by design there are “From Address” and “From SharePoint” options without “From Computer” option in rich text box in InfoPath form. As a workaround, you can develop a custom InfoPath Rich Text box to do it.
About developing a custom InfoPath control, I suggest you create a new thread on the forum “Visual Studio Tools for Office”, more experts will assist you with InfoPath development.

  • Upload Excel data to Sharepoint list VIA infopath form

    Hi,
I'll try to explain the process of what I want to do first.
    1. In Excel
I have an exceldocument (XLS, XLSX or XLSM) with 4 named columns and a named worksheet saved locally on my computer.
I want to upload this data into preferably a custom list in sharepoint but it needs to run via a infopath template first.
    2. In Infopath
The Infopath template will prompt the user to specify values in 2 additional fields.
After giving input to these fields user may browse for the locally stored excel document and upload the document.
In the same infopath template a dynamic array should be visible containing 6 columns (4 from excel + 2 from headerlevel of template) and the amount of rows based on the number of rows from excelsheet.
At the end of template a submit button is found for uploading the entire array into sharepoint custom list.
Is this possible to do at all?
NOTE! End user should not have to save the excelsheet as XML file nor do a XML mapping.
Infopath should, perhaps with help of VBA read excelsheet and transfer data to correct destination in sharepoint on it self.
    Looking forward to your reply

    Hi Jonas,
You can attach your Excel doucment into InfoPath form and send InfoPath form to a custom web service. Then you can parse the Excel data and combine the Excel data and additional fields into SharePoint list in the customized  web service.

  • Infopath Forms Not Opening in Broweser - Problem not organization wide, just one user

I have a browser enabled, Infopath 2010 form that has been in production in Sharepoint for a couple of years now.  The form is a browser enabled form but it keeps opening in the Infopath client when the forms are opened via Sharepoint.  As far
as I know, there is only one user in our entire organization that is having the problem. The problem did not start until a new site master page was implemented a few weeks ago.
In addition to the form not opening in the browser, he does not get the sharepoint drop down arrow when hovering over a file name in this library. I was going to have him try selecting "edit in browser" but he does not get the menu.
I've seen dozens of posts on how to resolve this Infopath issue as an enterprise wide solution, but my problem is limited to one user.
    The following has been confirmed:
Infopath Forms Services feature is active
The form was designed and published as a browser enabled form
The library advanced settings for "Opening Documents in the Browser" has the option selected for "Open in the browser".
The affected user is using IE 9 32-bit.  I made sure he was not using 64-bit as I've seen a lot of other Sharepoint problems with that before.

    Hi,
For a better troubleshooting, I suggest to do as follows:
    1. Please check whether add the following code in the master page(<head/> tags).
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8"/>
    2. Check whether it works on the user colleague’s computer.
    3. Try to use IE8 to check whether it workds.
    Thanks,

  • Submitting InfoPath form via Outlook Address book.

    Hi there,
Is it possible to have an info path form used so that there is a submit button and the user is able to choose the email address of their choice to have the form sent? Right now I only see the option of configuring a data connection with a pre filled in email
    address.
Example. I create a form. A user opens it and needs to submit it to one person in our organization, possibly from the Outlook address book.
I see a people picker but that does not allow you to submit.
    Thank you.

    Hi SarahShay,
You can use a people picker to store the people that you want to email, then create a submit button configured to send the form by e-mial to the people of the people picker.
More information, please refer to the link:

  • Uploading 2010 Infopath Form to Sharepoint 2013

    Hello,
I uploaded a Infopath 2010 form from my Sharepoint 2010 website to my new Sharepoint 2013 website.
I get the following editing message under my form title: Last modified at (todays date with time) by admin (Edit this Page)
How can I deactivate this feature or is this a feature? If not what is it and how can I get rid of it ?
    Please help,
    Kind regards, Ali Tozlu

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you got last modified message when you upload a InfoPath 2010 form.
How did you upload the form from the SharePoint 2010 site to SharePoint 2013 site?
Could you give more information about this issue?
I tried to reproduce the issue with the following three methods, and in the library I not got the last modified message with the form.
1.Use the “Open with Explorer” method.
I opened the SharePoint 2010 site library in explorer which contained the InfoPath 2010 form, and opened the SharePoint 2013 site library in explorer.
Then I dragged the InfoPath 2010 form to the SharePoint 2013 site, the form upload without the last modified message.
2.Upload the form using the URL
In SharePoint 2013 site library, I clicked the “New dcument”->Browser->typed the URL of the SharePoint 2010 site library which contained the InfoPath 2010 form.
The form also upload without the last modified message.
3.Downloaded the InfoPath 2010 form to local computer, then uploaded the form to SharePoint 2013 library, the form upload without the last modified message.

  • Unable to publish a Infopath Form

    Hi All,
I have edited an infopath form by following this below link
    http://www.bizsupportonline.net/blog/2010/03/open-infopath-form-template-moved-copied-different-location-computer/
I saved it in my desktop and open it in design mode than, after doing my small changes i am going to publish it it says "Getting Content types" message for long time...i canceled it and it asked for credentials , but it didnt get published..  Any
    help

    Hello,
Is there any promoted field in infopath form? Please verify from files--> form options-->click on property promotion from left hand. If you see any field then it seems problem with column.
Another thing is, if your form is deploy as content type earlier then you need to verify this first. Because template.xsn is indicate that you had published your form directly to library.
Also tell if you have backup of earlier template in network location or not.

  • Trouble with People Picker When Adding an InfoPath form to a form library

I have a site in SharePoint 2013 with a Form Library that uses an InfoPath form as its default template. Everything was originally created in 2010 (SharePoint 2010 / InfoPath 2010). When we upgraded to SP2013, I still had InfoPath 2010 and I noticed that
the people picker wasn't working (if I recall, I would just get ignored if I tried to click to open the address book). I have now upgraded to Office 2013, but when I click to open the address book for the people picker, InfoPath crashes.
I did some googling and tried the solution I found here:
    http://www.zoutenbier.nl/kb/sharepoint-2013/infopath-filler-2013-crashes-with-sharepoint-2013-when-using-people-picker/
But changing the web.config caused the people picker in SharePoint to break (if I tried to add someone to a group, the picker would tell me that it couldn't communicate with the server).
I'm not sure what else to try. Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi Amy,
Have you restart your IIS when you add modify web.config on your SharePoint server?
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/appvirtualization/en-US/d6fa5812-64e0-4d80-94b0-0577ba43ce59/sharepoint-2013-infopath-2010-people-picker-does-not-works-when-opens-in-client-application-but?forum=sharepointcustomization
Or you can check the following article with similar errors, remove multipleSiteBindingsEnabled setting from web.config and removed second web site binding from IIS, then check results again after iisreset.

  • Tried to install newest itunes, crashed during install, and now crashes my computer every time i try to uninstall.  Itunes doesn't show up in the Add/remove prog list at all.  tried to roll back over a month, still crashing.

So I tried to update to the newest Itunes.  It locked up my computer part way thru the install.  Black screen, computer turned itself off.  Now anytime i try to do anything with Itunes it shuts my computer down.  I can start up fine in safe mode but when i try to uninstall from there, Itunes doesn't exist.  the other apple programs do, but no itunes.  when i try to uninstall the other programs in safe mode it tells me it can't because the windows installer isn't loaded.  I have system restored to over a month ago and itunes still doesn't show up in add/remove programs.  however, i can open itunes.  it just tells me a file didn't get installed and to uninstall and reinstall.  So, how do i remove a progam that doesn't think it exists and crashes my computer when i try to do anything related to it???  I'm out of ideas.  running windows vista.

I think my problem is fixed now.
For the fun of it, I reinstalled iTunes 9.2.1 today (using the exact same installer as I did yesterday), but this time I didn't uninstall iTunes first. As expected, iTunes recognized my iPhone (as I expected it to, until my next reboot).
A few minutes later, Software Update showed up and among the updates is "iPhone SDK Compatibility Update". The description indicates that installing this should fix an issue where iPhones and iPod touches aren't recognized by iTunes. Isn't that interesting?
I installed that update and most of the others waiting for me (including Java, Safari 5.0.1, and a few others - not 10.6.4 though, due to the issues with nVidia graphics cards). After the reboot, I started iTunes, and it saw my iPhone!
So, if you're having this same problem, I'd recommend tracking down this update and see if that does the trick for you. Hopefully it will.

  • Creating a link to specific view in a submitted InfoPath form via C#

    Hello,
I have an InfoPath form that is submitted by a user, then the c# executes logic on a button click which is to send approver a link to a approver view within the submitted form(my company is
not allowing use of Work flows).
I have a problem creating this link namely because SharePoint changes the patter of a string that is used in creating a form name(Username and now() function characters change
    in URL).
Is there an easy way to reference an url to a view in Infopath form via C#
    Thank you.

    Brian,
You can use the following javascript syntax to open a document on local drive:

  • Cannot view InfoPath Form on SHarePoint 2013 since I removed SkyDrive for Business and installed OneDrive For Business

I removed SkyDrive for Business and installed OneDrive for Business on my laptop. After that, I had problems opening a Word and Excel document in a SharePoint site (SP2013). After installing Service Pack2 from Office2010, this problem is solved.
But I still have the same problem with InfoPath. Whenever I click an InfoPath form (I have InfoPath 2010 on my laptop),...
... I get the error "cannot display web page".
    When I change the URL

I can open the InfoPath form and read it.
Any ideas about how to fix this ? I already tried to restore the Office 2010 via Control Panel - Install Programs but without any success...

    Hi Gert,
As I understand, you can’t open InfoPath form in SharePoint 2013 unless you change the URL without “ms-infopath:ofe|u|”.
There are some reasons which maybe cause this issue, and you can try to do things below:
Access CA -> General Application Settings -> Configure InfoPath Form Service -> Check the two options in User Browser-enabled Form Templates.
Go into the registry by typing regedit from the Run line and rename the SharePoint.OpenDocuments.5 key (ex. SharePoint.OpenDocuments.5.old) under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.
In library settings, click "relink documents to this library".

  • Amount of data has exceeded maximum limit - Infopath form

Hello, I am having a problem on O365 concerning an Infopath form.
The warning goes like this : " The amount of data that was returned by a data connection has exceeded the maximum limit that was configured by the server administrator"
Solutions exist for other version of Sharepoint/Infopath. I see in SharePoint 2013, this value is 1500 kilobytes by default
and we can increase the maximum size of that. However, in SharePoint Online, it cannot be changed.
    Can you guys please help?
    Thanking you in advance.

    Hi Nite,
You should ask this question in the Office365 forums:
