InfoPath Form Library cannot edit in Datasheet view, cells delete themself

Hello,
I wanted to be able to edit a cell in datashee view for my form library. I have made sure within the publishing wizard that the cells can be edited in datasheet view. This seemed to work fine last week, but now when I input text into the cells, pause for
3 seconds, the cells then delete themselves???
I have no idea why, the cells are not read only and I have triple checked they can be edited in datasheet view. they are simple text fields!!
Has anyone ever seen this behavior before??

Hi Palumbob,
I tested the same scenario per your post in my environment, however the datasheet view worked fine when I edited the cells.
For troubleshooting this issue, I recommend to test the things below:
Check if there are any workflows or event receivers to set the column value to be null in the library.
Type value in the simple text field and then click other cells to see how the value works.
Create a new datasheet for the library to see if the issue still occurs.
Create a new column in the library and test.
Create a new library and test.
Thanks,
Victoria

  • InfoPath Field Promoted to SharePoint Form Library Cannot Edit

    Greetings,
I have an InfoPath 2013 form with a field named "Form Stage".  It's purpose is to maintain a process stage that is subsequently used by a SharePoint Designer 2013 workflow.
When the "Form Stage" field is not promoted to the column in the form library, my workflow is able to access and change the field value.  However, when I promote the InfoPath field to the SharePoint form library field, the workflow is unable
    to change that field's value?
    Does this sound correct?
My goal is to create a state machine type process where the form and workflow work together based on the stage it is in.  What is the best practice approach for accomplishing this?
    Thank you!

    Hi,
you just have to change your promoted fields in InfoPath to "allow for editing in SharePOint."
Go re-publish the form template, and when you get to the stage where you promote columns, you'll need to click on each field individually and check the box at the bottom that allows them to be edited in SharePoint.  Then, your SPD workflows will be able
to update the fields, but be aware that users will also be able to edit the fields without opening the form itself.  Because of this, I typically set my columns to be "hidden" in the content type so that they show in the views but not on the
    properties page.

  • Searching items in InfoPath form library

    Hi,
I have an Infopath form library, in which I have done the property promotion and exposed some of the columns.
I am trying for search functionality. How to search items in infopath form library? Is there any OOB webparts which can be used to display search criteria and the results. I do not have access to Central Admin, and hence cannot create Managed metadata properties,
but the columns are exposed in InfoPath form.
The infopath form has repeating table as well.
How to achieve the search in InfoPath form library?
    Thanks

    Hi Venkatzeus,
Have you tried using contextual search for this InfoPath form library?
Please go to site setting page->Site collection ->Site Collection Administration section->Search Settings page, select the value "Show and default to contextual scope" for option "Site Collection Search Dropdown Mode",
then please go to the InfoPath form library to test the search using "This list:YourFormlibraryName" dropdown (and wait a full crawl if needed).

  • Infopath fields binding not visible in datasheet view Sharepoint 2010

    Hello Everyone!!!
I have created a custom list in sharepoint then customized the infopath form in infopath form designer.  I have created a drop down and bind the dropdown form the soap web service method. It is working fine when I open the form.
But when i open the DataSheet View of custom list, field is displaying but the drop down list is not getting bind with data. what is issue. Infopath binding and rule don't work with datasheet view?
    Please reply

    Hi,
As you mentioned dd data is appearing in form but not in datasheet view...
    maybe there are compatibility issues
with 32 bit and 64 bit component of office and IE.
Try reinstalling "2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components" (link below)it installs a 32-bit version
of the Datasheet component that will work with the 64-bit version of Office 2010 as long as you are using a 32-bit version of an Internet browser.

  • SharePoint 2013 - Choice Column with Fill-In enabled Not Editable in Datasheet View

I have a custom list with a choice column (check boxes) set to allow for fill-ins.  Before it was migrated to 2013, I had a datasheet view and was able to edit the choice field by selecting one of the choices and/or add my own fill-in.
Now in 2013 that field is greyed out in datasheet view.  However, all the other choice columns which are NOT set to allow for fill-ins are editable.  I get all the choices with no problems.   The problem seems to be with the choice
fields that is allowing for fill-ins.  Why won't this work in datasheet view?

    Hi Jenkins,
It is a by design behavior that the filled-in value doesn’t show up in the list view filter options.
As a workaround, you can create an extra Single Line of Text column which saves the duplicated value of that Choice column, then filter the text column instead.
About how to copy value of a Choice column to a text column, you can set up a SharePoint Designer workflow to do the copy job and update the item.
A demo about how to update list item in SharePoint Designer workflow:

  • SharePoiunt List Datasheet view cell alignment in SharePoint Online

    Hi Team,
Is it possible to align cell data to top-aligned in SharePoint Online list datasheet view?
    Cheers, Badal

I have spent two days to resolve this issue. Microsoft has released two KBs with reference to this issue...but are not appearing in search results at the top.
    I am sharing my finding.
    1. First install the
KB2552989 (Hopefully you might have already installed it. The KB detetcts it and informs the user.)
    2. Then update registry by adding new key for data fetch timeout as mentioned in
    KB2553007
These two steps resolved the issue in our environment. Hope it might help others as well.

  • Cannot edit (or even view) some photos...

Recently I got a new Olympus FE-190 6 megapixel camera. (My previous camera was a 4 MP). The first roll that I imported into iPhoto (version 6.0.6) worked fine until I try to edit or view a larger image. The thumbnails appear, but when I click to edit a photo from my new camera, a grey screen appears where a larger photo should be with an exclamation mark surrounded by a dotted-line square. It only does this for the 6 MP photos, which are 2816 x 2112 pixels. Also, these photos are the only ones I cannot put into a slideshow in iDVD. Any suggestions would be of much help.
    Thanks,
    Geoff

I'm having the same problem, my pictures are not on
my camera anymore so I'm going to have to try the
hard way. I'll keep you posted!
I found this article: iphoto edit gray exclamation
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303473
It has a few different ideas to solve the problem. All I had to do was select the thumbnail, go to photos in menu bar, select revert to original! Problem solved.

  • APEX 4.2.3 Bug: Cascading Style Sheets cannot edit from list view

    APEX Builder page 4000:37
List view shows name, notes and download columns. The name column should link through to CSS Edit page (39), but instead downloads the file.
Workaround: Switch to the icon view, and click on the icon which takes you to the CSS edit page.
Can the APEX team correct this, as switching to icon view is not intuitive.

    Hi,
Austin, after reminding me what I knew - That it was an issue with the application - I had a further think, and thought maybe that it is something to do with the settings of the application.
It turns out that it was a globalization setting.
I had to go to Shared Components > Globalization Attributes, and change the Application Primary Language from "English (Australia) (en-au)" to "English (US) (en-us)".
This fixed the problem and now I can view the data from the Oracle Financials Views.
Thanks for assisting - this had me going for days.

  • Column in SharePoint form library is not editable

    HI All,
I have Infopath form library with c# code template. After successful publish, few column in form library cannot be editable, How to make them as editable? thanks!
Here "Change Applied to" column not able to edit, but i need to change its name.

    Hi,
From your description, I know you want to edit a document name.
By default, InfoPath published fields do not allow editing of data types. One can allow users to edit and update the metadata structure from the form library, only if it is allowed when the form gets published to the library. you need to allow users to change
the data type. You could refer to this article:

  • Editable InfoPath Form In Outlook

    Hi,
I have created an InfoPath 2013 Browser form which collects data from users and have created a SharePoint Designer 2013 Workflow for Form Approval which sends email to approvers with link to InfoPath Form. Everything is working as required.
Now the users require the infopath form to be edited and approved through outlook email instead of opening it in browser.
I hve created data connection to email InfoPath form to Approvers on Submit, however it just sends the read only view of the form and the Approve Reject buttons disappears in mail body.
    Kindly suggest.

  • How to create another form library item in Infopath?

    Hi All,
I have a Infopath form library and submited a new item successfully. But my requirement is, when i update the same item then it should submit as new item in that form library. How to achieve this in? Thanks in advance!

    Hi Sam,
According to your description, after updating an item, you want to save it as a new item in the Form Library.
In SharePoint Form Library, the items with names are not allowed to be created. In this scenario, after updating an item, a workaround is that you can submit the item
as a new Form Library item with another name.
To save the current editing item with a new name, we can use a formula to generate a date time string as the “File name”, then each time user submits an updated item,
there will be a new form created in the Form Library.
Here is the related formula I use in this scenario, you can change the formula according to your requirement:
The same Form Library items are submitted with different File Names based on current time:
Here is a link about adding a submit data connection, you can use it as a reference:
