Informatica installation problem - pinging the domain

Hi,
I am trying to install informatica and seem to be hitting a common installation problem.
I get to the 'Domain Configuration' point and the installation halts @ the 'Pinging the domain'.
After a few attempts, it comes back with the error 'Host:Port [MC:6001} has failed to ping back.
As an aside the service is created, starts OK and then fails.
All the Oracle side of things is fine and the objects have been created in my informatica schema.
I have seen a few posts with the same issue, but no one has a definitive answer.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Try to use the IP address instead of host name. I got it resolved wen i did this.

Yup, that did it.
I actually had been made aware of the patch when I downloaded CF, but for some reason I thought it was difficult to install (I thought that you could only use the installer package if you could open Administrator). IAC I downloaded the appropriate patch file, ran it and Administrator ran. There was something in the install notes about reconfiguring the websites and removing the IIS6 Management feature but I'm not going to fool with anything because right now at least CF is running.

XP client ping the domain name get resolve ip 127.0.53.53

I got a strange issues recently. We have many windows XP client in our company. Most them are working out of office.
So they connect our VPN to access the company resource. But last week (around 8.25), all the XP clients lost connections with our domain after they connected VPN. When I try ping the domain name, it got a resolved IP:127.0.53.53.
If I nslookup our domain name, it will get a correct resolved ip. Now It impacts all XP users' work. They can't use the outlook,
connect to the file share server.(windows 7 is ok, just XP get issues.)
Now my solution is: add our intrance dns(find it on the VPN network) to the local adapter.

Roaming profile login problem to the domain

Hi all,
Domain Environment, DC Server with Server OS of Microsoft Server 2008 R2 Standart SP1.
Roaming profiles unable to login to the domain on couple of PC's. They just inserting the password, starting to wait to log in with "Welcome"
on the screen, its thinking and looks like hes gona open the user's desktop but in this secong its just logging out back to the login screen.

I want to get more information about this issue.
Had you got any error messages during the login process?
If no domain users can log into those PCs?
If this is just a login problem in those PCs and there is no error Roaming profiles error during the login process, this article may be helpful for you:

9iAS installation problem--not the same user

I had once interrupted my 9iAS installation, when I start installation again, OUI reports lack of query component. I tried to install it in a new oracle home path, aborted the installation, and copy the inventory folder to the original oracle home path. Then I install oracle in the original oracle home again, OUI gives error message of "All oracle9iAS in one host must be installed by the same user". How can I bypass this message and install 9iAS?

I just had that too. I deleted all Oracle installed directories (app server install directory and Program Files\Oracle) then deleted the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE and that problem goes away....

Installation problem with the trial.

So recently i was thinking of installing the trial of Adobe photoshop CS5 extended so as i went through the installation form and language and system setting, but as i finish the form it took me to the download of "Adobe download Assistant" i installed it, but when it open it it start's downloading adobe PS but it just say's as "please wait" so i wait until the window stops and a message pops up saying
there has been an error encountered.
please try again later.
It would be awesome is some helped me me out on it i really would love to try Photoshop, Please.

Connect SP1 Installation Problem at the very start

Hi,
I have did update of Connect 7 to Connect 7 SP1 on various
servers but i have 2 servers that are giving the following
notification after running the SP1's setup.exe and selecting the
language.

In short:
It says i need to upgrade the embeded MSSQL server to 2005.
But Connect 7 already uses MSSQL 2005 and the technote is about
upgrading from 2000 to 2005. This only happened in 2 servers
upgrade process and the others upgrade went flawless.
Does anyone having the same issue or the have the solution?

Have you called Connect support on this issue? Try uprading
the Express version of SQL to a new release - in my experience, it
doesn't go over well. You must backup your Connect database,
uninstall the Express Edition, and either install the latest
version of 2005 with SP2 (there is an installer available from
Microsoft with this) or let Connect install it, then restore your
database.

Installation problems with The Sims 2 (disk space)

Hey, sorry to bug everyone but I have been having so much trouble trying to install The Sims 2. Whenever I try to open the installer it says..."Package Installer requires at least 1 MB of free disk space. Free up some space on your local disk and then re-lauch Package Installer"
I am so confused, I got my macbook about a month ago and it is my first mac. I didn't think I would have to "free up space on my local disk" And if I do how do I go about doing that?
Or am I just screwed? I thought if my macbook wouldn't run this game it may just be very slow because it couldn't keep up with the graphics, I didn't expect it to not even open the installer.

I had this same thing happen. Its because you are trying to start the game from the DVD instead of the Harddrive as I recall. Make sure you are clicking on the icon in the Applications folder. It was a long time ago this happened to me and I forget all the details.

Installation problem with the new iso after trying to install the LTS

I tried to install arch (i have always succeeded before) but i wanted to use the LTS kernel. When choosing packages i unchecked the linux package (which provides the 3 kernel) and checked the kernellts package.
After i was done with the configuration i got this error message (not exactly sure) something to do with the mkinitcpio : error Preset not found: '/etc/mkinitcpio.d/linux.preset'
The system was unbootable of course... I assume that it has to do something with the kernel version. Any help would be appreciated. Maybe i should try to install with the older iso...

Thanks for the quick reply. But I 've already formatted the partion... Can you tell me a way to do this during the instalation? If it can't be done should I use the older iso? I am not an expert by the way. I assume I could install the 3.0 first and then add the lts kernel but I hate installing anything that I will not use (that's one of the reasons I want to use Arch). PS. Would the archboot iso help?

A New Installation Problem

Installing CS4 Design Premium keeps failing. It is saying to turn off Virus Protection and Firewall - which I did - both firewalls - Norton's and Windows. I am running Vista Home. Please help! It is not coming up with errors it is just saying installing components failed. Gives me the option to continue to install the rest but I don't - I just quit the installation.

Exactly which Vista Home version are you using? The Creative Suites will not install and run on Vista Home Basic (per the configuration requirements listed on the product box and on the Adobe website). If you have Visa Home Premium you should be OK.
For further assistance, please contact Adobe Technical Support. There is no charge for resolving installation problems with the current Creative Suite version.

Windows 7 pro problem with redirected folder for 1 computer in the domain only.

Hi.
We have a computer in the domain we have that started to behave strangely.
We have redirected folder on the GPO for the Desktop, favorites, and my documents folder.
The server is 2012 essentials
Sometimes the customer want to save it's document and the computer refuse to save the file saying that the folder doesn't exist (path unknow). Mostly restarting the machine solve the problem.I verified the synchro between the server and the computer and
everything seem fine. What I have seen is that went I unplug the system from local network this specific folder disapear. So what I fear is that somethimes the machine can't connect to the server and then the problem start to appear.
I have tested other account on the domain and they run fine.
Any idea where I might look?

Do you mean that only one account have this issue?
What policy do you set?
Please take the following steps for troubleshooting:
1. Use this account to log in other computers and check if this issue still exists
2. When this issue occurs, ping the IP address and server name of the server 2012, and share us the result
3. As you mentioned in the post ‘Mostly restarting the machine solve the problem’, please run the command
gpupdate /force in powershell and check if this issue still exists.

Problems in the installer adobe photoshop CS6

Personal,
I need urgent help.
Already researched on the Internet, but so far unable results.
I'm not cinseguindo install any Adobe product on my computer.
When I go to install, appears mansagem:
"We found the segintes problems: Failed installer boot Download the Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem."
I've spent the CCleaner, Revo Uninstaller, Advanced Care System and the RegSeek. Deleted and deleted all of my machine Adobe programs, already deleted all the records, but yet the problem persists.
Could anyone help me?

After several days of this annoying me and trying various different things, I finally found the solution!!
Open Terminal and run this command and it will reset the launch services to let it work properly.
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.fra mework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -domain locat -domain system -domain user
The problem began for me once I removed photoshop because the update kept failing. So I uninstalled photoshop cs6 using their uninstall script, and then re-installed it with the creative cloud application manager. From then on I could not "double click" on a .PSD to open photoshop directly, but "open with" would work. Very strange.. but the above command fixed it.
