Informatica PowerCenter and PowerConnect Adapters 8.6.1 installation

Hi,
I have downloaded below two files from oracle edelivery site.
"Oracle Business Intelligence Data Warehouse Administration Console 10.1.3.4.1 for Microsoft Windows and Informatica PowerCenter and PowerConnect Adapters 8.6.1 for Windows x86 (64-bit) (Part 1 of 2)"
"Oracle Business Intelligence Data Warehouse Administration Console 10.1.3.4.1 for Microsoft Windows and Informatica PowerCenter and PowerConnect Adapters 8.6.1 for Windows x86 (64-bit) (Part 2 of 2)"
For installing informatica on machine having microsoft windows server 64 bit with 4 gb ram.
I got 2 ZIP files form each download.When i extracted them i had following files.
1. dac_win_101341_infa_win_x86_64bit_861.z01 ->from part 1
and 2. dac_win_101341_infa_win_x86_64bit_861.zip -> from part 2
Now i am not getting how should i start the installation?
Any pointers regarding this and if possible complete flow of steps for it would be very helpful.

Hi,
I have oracle server and client installed on machine where i am installing INFORMATICA.
Also tnsping to XE works.
tnsping has following entry for XE

How to un-install Informatica Powercenter and DAC ?

Hi ,
we have installed informatica powercenter 8 and oracle DAC 10.1.3.4.1 on Redhat linux 5 . we would like to un-install both of these now and I have not done this before . How do we do it ? I am not able to find much about these in respective product documentation .
1) I see "uninstaller.sh" shell script within powercenter directory . Would this do the uninstall ?
2) How about DAC ? The installation guide says that "the dac server is first installed on windows and then copied to linux" . does this mean that we need to just remove the DAC directory on linux ?
will that complete the DAC server un-installation ? But I also see a OUI directory and runInstaller.sh within DAC directory which confuses me . Should I use this OUI stuff for un-installation ?
Any input reg this would be of much help .

RM - Sorry . I did not answer your question . Frankly - I do not know as I am new to my team . Perhaps the newer versions has some compelling features
which would have impressed the business team . Just a wild guess .
BTW - I see a "_uninstallServer" directory within my powercenter home which has a "uninstaller" file . can this be used for un-installation ?
And very curious : how and where do we get powercenter 9.0.1 documentation ? Couldn't find it at all . I would not pester you guys with umpteen number
of questions if I have this document .

which contains archive
dac_win_101341_infa_aix_64bit_910.zip
It is an Oracle Business Intelligence Data Warehouse Administration Console 10.1.3.4.1 for Microsoft Windows and Informatica PowerCenter and PowerConnect Adapters 9.1 for AIX Based Systems (64-bit)
on IBM AIX 6.1 64 bit.
And I have an error after running OUI:

There are only Windows binaries (including java.exe and there is no ./java file)!

I also tried to run runInstaller with ./runInstaller -jreLoc=/usr/java6_64/jre options, but this workaround does not have any effect.
p.s. Maybe this DAC install source is for windows only, so where I can get this one for AIX 6.1 64 bit?

Zip files are splitted.
You extract only dac_win_101341_infa_win_x86_32bit_861.zip file, that will extract contents from dac_win_101341_infa_win_x86_32bit_861.z01 also.

Informatica Powercenter 9.01 V26112-01_1of2 zip file problem

I have installed all three informatica zip files but Unfortunately V26112-01_1of2 zip file which contains License Key file and client doesnt work.
it looks like corrupted. I have dowloaded three times but winzip, rar doesnt work with that zip file
What can I do?

Here is what readme says from Oracle..
The parts titled "Oracle Business Intelligence Data Warehouse Administration Console 11g and Informatica PowerCenter and PowerConnect Adapters 9.0.1" and “Oracle Business Intelligence Data Warehouse Administration Console 11g and Informatica PowerCenter andPowerConnect Adapters 9.1" include the Oracle Business Intelligence Data Warehouse Administration Console (DAC) 11g, Informatica PowerCenter Services and InformaticaPowerCenter Client Tools installers, the Informatica PowerCenter License Key and the InformaticaDocumentation.
These parts are split into multiple downloads. Download all parts into the same directory location on a Windows machine.
To extract the contents of the zip files:
1.      Using WinZip, unzip the contents of each downloaded zip file into a single directory location. Do not give this directory a long name and avoid using the My Documents folder. On extraction of all the zip files, you will received additional zip files with file names similar to “dac_win_11g_infa_<OS and Bit>_<INFA version> and with file extensions .zip, .z01, .z02, .z03 etc.
2.      Using WinZip, unzip the file with the .zip extension file into a new directory. Do not give this directory a long name and avoid using the My Documents folder. NOTE: Do not unzip the .z01, .z02 etc. files as the contents of these files will automatically be extracted.
On extract of the zip files you will receive the following five files:
1.     <INFA version>_Server_Installer_<OS> (.tar or .zip)
2.      DAC11gInstaller.zip
3.      910HF2_Client_Installer_win32-x86.zip

I try to Get one form http://www.oracle.com/us/support/licensecodes/index.html under Hyperion
System 9 Data Integration Management (11.1.1 and 11.1.1.1 only)
Hyperion_DIM.zip --> Hyperion_DIM_9.3.1.1.key
when i upload this to the Informatica it shows
The Software Version 8.1.1
Pls update me if any get the 9.0.1 License Codes

The file Informatica PowerCenter and PowerConnect Adapters Client 9.0.1 (Part 1 of 2) (V26106-01.zip) contains another zip called 901HF2_Client_Installer_win32-x86_DOCS_KEY.zip
This zip contains the license file Oracle_All_OS_Prod.key.

Informatica PowerCenter Licensing

Greetings everyone.
We have recently purchased Oracle BI Apps along with OBIEE. I am trying to find out if Informatica PowerCenter and PowerConnect adapters (which I will refer to as IPC) are included (whether restricted or unrestricted) with the purchase of OBIA, or if IPC needs to be purchased as a seperate product.
It would be best if an Oracle employee could answer this. If not an Oracle Employee, I would expect a URL to an Oracle document that states IPC is included in the purchase price.
I'm confused because this Oracle document (URL below) states a bunch of restrictions in using IPC (under the heading "Informatica OEM PowerCenter Version 8.6" on page 28). I've seen these types of restrictions when a restricted product license is included with the purchase of the larger package:

However, I cannot find any document that states specifically that an OEM PowerCenter license is included with the OBIA purchase, or whether we have to purchase IPC seperately.

I can see "Informatica Powercenter adapters for Oracle" downloads in Oracle, but couldn't find Powercenter server/client.
So, doesn't Oracle Warehouse Builder compete with Powercenter?
I went to Informatica website, but couldn't find a Powercenter download link. It looks as if Informatica does not want anyone to download trial versions of Powercenter.

Exadata and Informatica Powercenter

We are experiencing a lot of problems with OWB on the Exadata V2.
When OWB does its jobs, it runs fantastic on the Exadata. But OWB is not stable. We get a lot of issues with its reliability. Scheduled jobs do not start or stop halfway with strange errors like "More fun" or "recovery of this request is in progress"...
Now we are looking for a new tool and we want to try Powercenter from Informatica. I have some questions about it.
Does anyone have it running on the Exadata?
Does anyone use the "Push Down"-option of Informatica to do some work in the database instead of in its engine?
What is the loss (is there a loss) of perfomance?
Can anyone tell me his experience to use Powercenter installed on de Exadata?

I've run Informatica PowerCenter to do ETL with Exadata with good results. It was run without the database pushdown option, so the database just sees single row insert statements. This isn't optimal from an Oracle perspective, but handles our volume 10's of millions of rows per day without breaking a sweat. The other drawback of single row inserts is that they can't use columnar compression; periodic table rebuilds are required to get the compression benefits.

The restrictions on third party software are no different from a traditional SAN environment: you can install whatever software you want to the database servers (and on machines connected via network to them), but the storage server itself (SAN controller, filer head, or whatnot) runs only a software build supplied by the manufacturer. The one exception in the Exadata case is the OFA/InfiniBand driver, which should be kept in sync with what's running on the storage server.

The mapping is very simple:
Source Qualifier -> Stored procedure -> Update strategy (only two ports: ROW_WID and custom column) -> Target Table
When I launch the DAC Execution Plan the corresponding task take much time (40 minuts). But when I launch the corresponding Workflow from Informatica PowerCenter Workflow Manager this only take 50 seconds... when I see the log session for the task I can see that much time is spent on the time of the updates. For example, when DAC is running the writer updates 10000 records every 6/7 minuts, but when Workflow Manager is running thw writer updates 10000 records every 8/9 seconds.
So, what happens (in the DAC) to that so much time difference? Is there a way to reduce the execution time when the task is launched from DAC?

Have you tried using bulk load type?
In Workflow Manager can you open the associated task, navigate to the mapping tab and seled the target table.
What is the value for "Target load type" and which of the following boxes are checked: Insert, Update as Update, Update as Insert, Update else Insert, Delete?

Informatica powercenter adminconsole link not working on Linux 64 bit

Hi all,
I've installed Informatica powercenter 9.0.1 server on Linux 64bit machine. When I try to launch adminconsole from my linux machine it is giving following error,
"Data Transfer Interrupted"
"The Connection hostname:6001 was interrupted while the page was loading"
Also I've noticed the following error in the Informatica_9.0.1_services_hotfix2.log,
"[ICMD_110033] command [ping] failed with error [[INFACMD_10053] domain [domain_hostname] host:port has failed to ping back]"
Anybody experienced this situation?
I appreciate your help in this regard.

Did you try telnet hostname port no. and check if you are getting any reply? If not then it can be either network issue (host not reachable) or Service not starting....which you need to check in log files of Informatica apps folder

Can any one please help to find a link for downloading informatica/Powercenter 8.6 Server for windows. I was able to find and download the PowerCenter 8.6 Client only. The link for the PowerCenter Client 8.6 i have used is :
