Information about financial closing in mid-month

Hello,
I have a question regarding  financial close. Our fiscal year is a calendar year with one special period configured in the system. For some rare circumstances my company has to do a mid month close in June. So we need to close June by June 15th and from June 15th u2013June 30th, we have  to see Julyu2019s period ( 7th) when we post a document .  Is that possible to do in SAP. Can we change any config in the midst of the year or in a live system.  Is so how.
Thanks in advance
Tanya

Dear Prasobh,
Thanks for your comments...
The transactions are perfects! But is there any place where we can check the value summarized and mainly that the quantity of the movement type 262 be excluded of the quantity total like the column "Quantity withdrawn" in process order.
In the transactions COID, COOISPI and COIO the system shows the individual values by the movement type.
Eg. In a process order any there are 02 movements types 261 = 110 pc (total=220 pc) and 01 movement type = 262 of the 110 pc. In the COID, COOISPI and COIO the system shows me 330 pc but I would like see 110 pc.
Best Regards!

  • Anyone have  information about the publicised Free 3 month trial of iCloud for attendees of the Sydney Presentation held last wednesday?

I last purchased product at the release of cs3 and was not allowed to register the software 'because I had had it too long' ... yes, I had several episodes with the Big C and Adobe didn't honour their sale obligations ... should take the case to the Ombudsman ...

If a customer has purchased an earlier full version of product Adobe ought register that product so that it can be use. I purchased product and the tech who looked after the registration which enables you to use the product would not enable the software for use because there was a lag between purchase and request for activation.
Your comment about contacting whoever made the offer of access for attending the presentations is what doesn't make sense because there appears to be no way of contacting the organisers.

  • Would like to know how to close mid month in situations like mergers

I would like to if it is possible to define a separate period for a mid month close like in case of merger & acquisitions. We wanted to explore the option of addition period for specific date in the month and follow the close process and open a different period for the remaining days of the period. What would people do in case acquisition or merger closed during mid month instead of regular month end
What would be process everyone follows for close of books incase of acquisition.
    I appreciate your replies

    Hi
I hope there is no option of defining a new period in your calendar for this type of activies, as a workaround you can proceed with mid month end activities as usual and you run your report to get the data, once the reconciliation is over you can enter the data for the rest of month and then you can close the period as normal.

  • Mid Month Close - Financial Close

    Hello
I would like to ask the experts on the activities we need to perform for a mid-month close during a fiscal year (A month which is not a normal fiscal month end) . For example, if a company is being sold in the middle of the month and they need to generate the financial statements as of that date (sales, expenses, margins etc) what all do we need to do. What are the limitations ?
Please share your experiences. List of activities and steps that need to be done would be really appreciated.
    Thank you for your time.

    Hello Rahul,
I thought of sharing some inputs on this scenario, from an old friend.
Some aspects/limitations which could be highlighted:
    1. Splitting the period into two periods.
    2. Depreciation Posting would be calculated for the entire month. 15 days depreciation will have to be adjusted manually.
    3. How the Business manages the balance carry forward for the respective month, is another challenge.
    4. Google for sap msg fgv618
    Hope this is helpful.
    Regards,

  • HT200084 Logic X hangs on start up.  Updating information about audio units plug ins.

last session logic X crashed as I closed down..Logic hangs on every start up.The screen splash says Updating information about audio units plug ins. However it just stays like that. Tried deleting the com.apple.audiounits.cache with no result. The preference/plugin manager is greyed out so can't get to that.. updated Yosemite to latest.
Does any on have any ideas??
    thanks for any help

    hi, thanks for your response.
i have checked the ~ Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components as well.
the latest is by trashing the cache i have managed to get past the hanging screen and open a project but I have no plugins and also virtual instruments available. ( orange ! icon)
I can now access the plugin manager and tried a rescan but it won't validate plugins that I have licenses for. I should add I am not running any cracks etc,  it is all purchased and licensed plugins or demo versions.
ill try posting this plugin manager report

  • Income tax issue for mid month joinees

    Issue 2:
For New (mid month) joinee at the first month gross salary is calculated based on the earned salary amount *12 months (or no. of remaining months for financial yr end), but in my client income tax deducted based on the actual salary (not earned salary) from the first month onwards.
    For example :
    Employee X,
    Joined date 15.08.2011,
Actual salary = 1,00,000 INR.  Earned salary for 15 days = 50,000 INR.
While Start Payroll for the period 5th (August) 2011. The WT /416 Gross salary = 4,00,000 (50000*8). Based on this gross salary income tax calculated, But I want to calculated the gross at first month (august 2011) based on follows,
Gross salary : August month earned salary = 50,000 + Actual salary per month =1,00,000*7 =7,00,000.
    Gross salary = 7,50,000 INR.
    Please give me some solution

    Hi Param Dayal,
    New issues rise Now....
For New (mid month) joinee at the first month Exemption U/S 10 is calculated based on the Conveyance Allowance amount *12 months (or no. of remaining months for financial yr end), but in my client income tax Exemption U/S 10 based on the actual salary (not earned salary) from the first month onwards.
    For example :
    Employee X,
    Joined date 15.08.2011,
Conveyance Allowance = 800 INR. Earned Conveyance Allowance for 15 days = 400 INR.
While Start Payroll for the period 5th (August) 2011. The WT /130 Exemption U/S 10 = 3,200 (400*8). Based on this Conveyance Allowance The Exemption U/S 10 calculated, But I want to calculated the Exemption U/S 10 at first month (august 2011) based on follows,
August month earned Conveyance Allowance = 400 INR + Actual Conveyance Allowance per month =800*7 =5,600.
    Exemption U/S 10 = 6,000 INR.
    Please give me some solution

  • Changing Plan Mid-month "pro-rated" unclear and deceptive practice. C.S. offers no help

I recently found myself having to up my plan minutes for a family emergency. I went online and checked my usage I was at 394 minutes out of a 450 minute plan, so I elected to switch to the 900 plan minute for the month, ancipating I would go over in the next week. I was given options to back date it  or start on that day, as I had clearly not gone over my alloted minutes, I chose to start it as of that day.
My Bill came and I received 69 dollars in minute overages. How was this explained, that by prorating the bill, they divide the cylcel in half, not only by "dollars" which seemed to be the explantion I received online, but by minutes. SO my minute alotment of 450 was reduced to 240 for those two weeks I oriignally had 450 minutes in. They billed as if that was my allowance therefore saying I now went over my plan by 154 minute which I was billed to the tune of 69.00 dollars, plus the addition of the monthly increase in plan.
My question to any logical rational intelligent person would be, why would someone choose to up there minute plan, before they went over, just to then be charged for minutes they would not have been had they not upped there plan to the next level. This defies common sense and any explanation would as well.
Customer service sadly would not even hear or understand this, only to say this is a valid "cost" and I should have read the "disclosure" statement or called if I had questions and not use online services. I asked both the operator and a supervisor for the terms of the disclosure agrement and neither could tell me what it said. However in reading  billing question answers they respond "For example, if you changed rate plans during the middle of your billing cycle, your statement should contain a charge for the old rate plan (according to the number of days in your cycle that you were on the old rate plan) and the new rate plan. " yes that makes sense but no where does it say your minutes may be reduced up until this point and you may occur additional charges not already used. by ironically "increasing your minute plan".
I am waiting for a manager to return my call,  As a long time customer of verizon whom have promoted them and the new iphone all over facebook and such to my friends I am very discouraged by this practice, and the lack of resolve.

Mike I appreciate that at least you are familiar with what the disclosure statement says, despite othert reps not being able to recite it. However the term "may" be in inself is Misleading, if "airtime" is  prorated the statement should read "YOUR airtime MINUTES will be prorated and reduced to this point, possibly resulting in overages and additional charges" The wording is intentionally misleading. If it weren't MIke, why would anyone KNowingly select an option that would then cause them to  owe an additional 69.00 dollars they didnt owe at the time, when UPPING their PLAN?
The fact that Customer Service Can't see that as a very real possiblity and just is dissmisive saying You should have read the disclosure statement., and it is a valid charge tells, me they run into this frequently and they have a script to read from to cover themselves, leaving the HUman Element out of the equation. It is sad enough I had to Up my plan only temporarily while dealing with a tragic family situation, to add insult to injury. To me the term "may" be prorated and "may" result in additional overages meant, that if I had gone over my minutes prior to the change I would be charged, because MIKE that is COMMON SENSE. and a REASONABLE person May think that. Cutomer Service Reps could at least acknowledge that as a very real Understanding of how that line could be interupted, and that a reasonable person would not otherwise increase their plan only to be charge for something they would not have otherwise been charged.
I am almost positive in the Future this wording will be Changed after the continued Myriad of complaints. From what I already understand the new "changing minutes and not plan" option already has changed it. SO why not make things right for long time loyal customers now. I actually want to reduce my plan back down now as it was a temporary emergency however I DONT dare do it mid month again, SO I will wait another 2 weeks and pay even more.
This is NOT ME and my misunderstanding, just googling the topic comes up with tons and tons of complaints, articles written on the topic and so fourth. I have been waiting days for someone as promised to call me back as well and that hasnt happened. I have talked to so many friends about this many verizon customers and all say this can't be right, because it DOESNT MAKE SENSE, despite it being "valid" as you say.

  • Which depreciation key is eligible for mid-month convention in SAP?

    Dear Experts,
I am looking for the depreciation key for mid-month convention for USA in SAP standard system.
Do you know what key is for this convention?
    Thanks.
    BR,
    Chris Kim

    Dear sapfincon,
    Thank you for your comment.
When I looked at those depreciation keys, LINA/LINK/LINR, those period control are 007 or 008.
In case of acquisition for those period controls, "007" has "04" (First year convention at half year start date) and "008" "01" (Pro rata at period start date).
    I don't think these "04" and "01" stand for mid-month convention.
I assume the period control "02" (Pro rata upto mid-period at period start date) is for mid-month convention.
What do you think about this?
    Thanks again.
    BR,
    Chris Kim

  • How to get information about limitation Internal Memory on device

    hallo ..
have some question here, so please some person able to answer my questions
    1. How to get Information about limitation internal memory on device
    2. is possible to improve internal memory on Blackberry ( move apps on external memory )
    3. any tools to get internal memory activity ?
thanks for this people who joins here, hope we can share more information about blackberry ..

    In addition...
There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) Application Memory, 2) Device Memory, and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.
Application Memory -- This is the most crucial; it is the protected (not user accessible), dedicated, and fixed (in size) space that is available as the destination for the installation of applications (plus some application storage, overhead and such). You cannot touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can only install here...there is no option.
Device Memory -- This is space on your BB that you can touch to store files, pictures, media, etc. Typically, it is not terribly large, but it is available to you.
SD/Media Card Memory-- This is what it says...your SD card, for you to store files, media, pictures, etc. It can be as large as your BB OS can support...see this KB:
KB05461MicroSD card sizes supported by the BlackBerry device software
On some devices/OS levels, you can only see "File Free" (Options > Status), which I think is equivalent to AppMemory. On other devices, you can see all three memory usage levels (Options > Memory). Here are some guidelines to use:
KB02843What is the Low Memory Manager feature on the BlackBerry smartphone
KB14320How to maximize free space and battery power on the BlackBerry smartphone
KB14213Call logs, SMS text messages, and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone
Lastly, it is always important to properly close applications when you are done with them. Using the Back or the Red key will not do this -- those leave it to the app to decide what to do...and some will leave themselves resident in memory, consuming resources on your BB, slowing the overall performance. Rather, to close an app, press and select "Close" or "Exit"...that will force the application to be closed, freeing up for your new use the resources it was consuming. Some apps will always remain running (typically -- BBMessenger, Browser, Homescreen, Phone, and Messages)...but, you should still close them properly - especially the Browser...if it is left on an active web page, it will not only consume extra resources but battery power as well.
Further, anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure. Some have taken to doing this on a regular basis as a preventive measure...some as frequently as once per day. Others have obtained the QuickPull app to automate a simulated Batt-Pull.
    Good luck!

    Hi Rama
Retailing consists of the sale of goods or merchandise, from a fixed location such as a department store or kiosk, in small or individual lots for direct consumption by the purchaser.[1] Retailing may include subordinated services, such as delivery. Purchasers may be individuals or businesses. In commerce, a retailer buys goods or products in large quantities from manufacturers or importers, either directly or through a wholesaler, and then sells smaller quantities to the end-user. Retail establishments are often called shops or stores. Retailers are at the end of the supply chain. Manufacturing marketers see the process of retailing as a necessary part of their overall distribution strategy.
Shops may be on residential streets, shopping streets with few or no houses, or in a shopping center or mall, but are mostly found in the central business district. Shopping streets may be for pedestrians only. Sometimes a shopping street has a partial or full roof to protect customers from precipitation. Retailers often provided boardwalks in front of their stores to protect customers from the mud. Online retailing, also known as e-commerce is the latest form of non-shop retailing (cf. mail order).
Shopping generally refers to the act of buying products. Sometimes this is done to obtain necessities such as food and clothing; sometimes it is done as a recreational activity. Recreational shopping often involves window shopping (just looking, not buying) and browsing and does not always result in a purchase.
Most retailers have employees learn facing, a hyperreal tool used to create the look of a perfectly-stocked store even when it is not.

    [edit] Retail pricing
The pricing technique used by most retailers is cost-plus pricing. This involves adding a markup amount (or percentage) to the retailers cost. Another common technique is suggested retail pricing. This simply involves charging the amount suggested by the manufacturer and usually printed on the product bize the manufacturer.
In Western countries, retail prices are often so-called psychological prices or odd prices: a little less than a round number, e.g. $6.95. In Chinese societies, prices are generally either a round number or sometimes a lucky number. This creates price points.
Often prices are fixed and displayed on signs or labels. Alternatively, there can be price discrimination for a variety of reasons, where the retailer charges higher prices to some customers and lower prices to others. For example, a customer may have to pay more if the seller determines that he or she is willing to. The retailer may conclude this due to the customer's wealth, carelessness, lack of knowledge, or eagerness to buy. Another example is the practice of discounting for youths or students. Price discrimination can lead to a bargaining situation often called haggling, in which the parties negotiate about the price. Economists see this as determining how the transaction's total surplus will be divided into consumer and producer surplus. Neither party has a clear advantage, because of the threat of no sale, in which case the surplus vanishes for both.
Retailers who are overstocked, or need to raise cash to renew stocks may resort to "Sales", where prices are "marked down", often by advertised percentages - "50% off" for example."Sales" are often held at fixed times of the year, for example January sales, or end-of-season sales, or Blue Cross Sale
    [edit] Retail Industry
Retail Industry has brought in phenomenal changes in the whole process of production, distribution and consumption of Consumer Goods all over the world. In the present world most of the developed economies are using the Retail Industry as their vital growth instrument. At present, among all the industries of U.S.A the Retail Industry holds the second place in terms of Employment Generation. In fact, the strength of the Retail Industry lies in its ability to generate large volume of employment.
Not only U.S but also the other developed countries like U.K, Canada, France, Germany are experiencing tremendous growth in their Retail Sectors. This boom in the Global Retail Industry was in many ways accelerated by the Liberalization of Retail Sector.
Observing this global upward trend of Retail Industry, now the developing countries like India are also planning to tap the enormous potential of the retail sector. Wal-Mart,the world's largest Retailer has been invited to India. Other popular Brands like Pantaloons, Big Bazar, Archies are rapidly increasing their market share in the retail sector. According to a survey, within 5 years, the Indian Retail Industry is expected to generate 10 to 15 million jobs by direct and indirect effects. This huge employment generation can be possible because of the fact that being dependent on the the Retail Sector shares a lot of Forward and Backward Linkages.
Emergence of a strong Retail Sector can contribute immensely to the economic development of any country. With a dominant retail sector, the farmers and other suppliers can sell their produce directly to the major retail companies and can ensure stable profit. On the other hand, to ensure steady supply of goods, the Retail Companies can inject cash into the production system. This whole process can result into a more efficient production and distribution system for the economy as a whole.
    [edit] Etymology
Retail comes from the French word retaillier which refers to "cutting off, clip and divide" in terms of tailoring (1365). It first was recorded as a noun with the meaning of a "sale in small quantities" in 1433 (French). Its literal meaning for retail was to "cut off, shred, paring". Like the French, the word retail in both Dutch and German (detailhandel and Einzelhandel respectively) also refer to sale of small quantities or items.[citation needed]
    [edit] Retail types
According to Jim there are three major types of retailing. The first is the market, a physical location where buyers and sellers converge. Usually this is done in town squares, sidewalks or designated streets and may involve the construction of temporary structures (market stalls). The second form is shop or store trading. Some shops use counter-service, where goods are out of reach of buyers, and must be obtained from the seller. This type of retail is common for small expensive items (e.g. jewelry) and controlled items like medicine and liquor. Self-service, where goods may be handled and examined prior to purchase, has become more common since the Twentieth Century. A third form of retail is virtual retail, where products are ordered via mail, telephone or online without having been examined physically but instead in a catalog, on television or on a website. Sometimes this kind of retailing replicates existing retail types such as online shops or virtual marketplaces such as futurebazaar.com or Amazon.[2].
Buildings for retail have changed considerably over time. Market halls were constructed in the Middle Ages, which were essentially just covered marketplaces. The first shops in the modern sense used to deal with just one type of article, and usually adjoined the producer (baker, tailor, cobbler). In the nineteenth century, in France, arcades were invented, which were a street of several different shops, roofed over. counters, each dealing with a different kind of article was invented; it was called a department store. One of the novelties of the department store was the introduction of fixed prices, making haggling unnecessary, and browsing more enjoyable. This is commonly considered the birth of consumerism [3]. In cities, these were multi-story buildings which pioneered the escalator.
In the 1920s the first supermarket opened in the United States, heralding in a new era of retail: self-service. Around the same time the first shopping mall was constructed [4] which incorporated elements from both the arcade and the department store. A mall consists of several department stores linked by arcades (many of whose shops are owned by the same firm under different names). The design was perfected by the Austrian architecht Victor Gruen[5]. All the stores rent their space from the mall owner. By mid-century, most of these were being developed as single enclosed, climate-controlled, projects in suburban areas. The mall has had a considerable impact on the retail structure and urban development in the United States. [6]
In addition to the enclosed malls, there are also strip malls which are 'outside' malls (in Britain they are called retail parks. These are often comprised of one or more big box stores or superstores.
Non-traditional exterior of a SuperTarget, JacksonvilleLocal shops can be known as brick and mortar stores in the United States. Many shops are part of a chain: a number of similar shops with the same name selling the same products in different locations. The shops may be owned by one company, or there may be a franchising company that has franchising agreements with the shop owners (see also restaurant chain).
Some shops sell second-hand goods. Often the public can also sell goods to such shops, sometimes called 'pawn' shops. In other cases, especially in the case of a nonprofit shop, the public donates goods to the shop to be sold (see also thrift store). In give-away shops goods can be taken for free.
There are also 'consignment' shops, which is where a person can place an item in a store, and if it sells the person gives the shop owner a percentage of the sale price. The advantage of selling an item this way is that the established shop give the item exposure to more potential buyers.
The term retailer is also applied where a service provider services the needs of a large number of individuals, such as with telephone or electric power.
IS Retail was original develop to meet specific needs of Retail industry where standard SD/MM cannot.
    - Significant functionality difference are:
    - Store specific features are built into IS Retail where as it is not in
    standard SD/MM.
    - Mass processing of pricing (some of the retail features were
included as standard SAP as of 4.6)
    - Assortment handling is not in standard SAP
There are other differences in inventory costing/valuation etc.
Retail valuation only available in SAP Retail.
What is known in the trade as the "retail inventory method" or the "retail method" involves valuating stocks at retail, often aggregated at merchandise category or departmental level.
Both the cost method and the retail method can be used in SAP Retail.
Actually IS-Retail is a combination of MM and SD plus other funtionalities speacially developed for the retail industry such as:
    Promotions
    Pricing
    Assortments
    Clasification
    Merchandise category
    Seasons
Is important to mention that all the funtionality of MM and SD is avialable in SAP IS-Retail with some diferences in some transactions:
Material master data (article in retail) has some diferences.
    Vendor master data.
    Site master data.

  • Problem with Policy "Display information about previous logons during user logon"

    Hello,
I've a problem with the Policy "Setting Display information about previous logons during user logon".
It is applied correctly on computer, but I can't login anymore and message "Security policies on this computer are set to display information about the last interactive logon. Windows could not retrieve this information. Please contact your network administrator
    for assistance" is appearing.
My home test domain has 2008 R2 functionality level since months, and I've raised my company infra level functionality to 2012 this morning. Both domain are making the same error.
This is non-sense, so any idea how to troubleshoot it ? Thanks in advance ! ;-)
PS : I was able to remove it in order to login again, no worries on this one...

Did you follow the guidance in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd446680%28v=ws.10%29.aspx?
Especially the following paragraph - the setting has to be applied to DCs and Members...:
You configure last interactive logon through a GPO. You must configure the following setting for the GPO with domain controllers in its scope of management if you want to report last interactive logon information to the directory service:
Computer Configuration| Policies | Administrative Templates | Windows Components | Windows Logon Options | Display information about previous logons during user logon = Enabled
If you want to display last interactive logon information to the user, you must configure this setting for both the GPO with domain controllers in its scope of management as well as any GPO with Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista client
computers in its scope of management.

I'm struggling with the TechNet article you direct us to.  We see in the TechNet article that Last Login Notification works ONLY with Server 2008 R2 and Vista.  Do we interpret that correctly?
We need it to work with Server 2003, Server 2008, Win7, Win8, Win8.1, Server 2012, et. al.
What is the work around to enable *Last Login Notifications to Users* functionality for these OSs?
    Thanks in advance,
    Robin
