Information about Performance manager's APIs

Hi All, I require some information about Performance Manager of Business Objects XI R2. Business Objects provides APIs for BOE server, Web Services for customization, as that of, is there any APIs available for Performance Manager (for customization)? Can we customize the performance Manager as per requirements? Please let me know your views & finding on this topic. Thanks

Hi John, From the output you shared it looks like you using Performance Advisor and want to share a graph of a 7-mode system. The instructions link you shared is from Performance Manager which is for Clustered Data ONTAP only. In the Performance Advisor there is unfortunately no way to share a link. You can 'save as' to png as you probably already saw, or you can use the dfm CLI to generate the same and email, perhaps as a daily report. There is also a data collector that will post to the NetApp ToolChest that submits data to Graphite with dashboards in Grafana. This solution would allow sharing of a URL like you desire. I read some documentation about 0FI_TV_01 and 0FI_TV_02, But I don´t know where I can get more information about how to activate this extractor's and how work on R/3 and connect with BW (7.0)
At this time I konw how work 2LIS_02_ITM and how this extractor was configured and activated on R/3 Systems and their connection with BW.

My working week is Sunday -Thursday.
It is true that you can see if an extractor is delta-enabled by looking at the table value. It is also apparent in the info-package.
However, the value in the table is not the reason why the extractor is delta-enabled. There is an extractor program which handles the extraction, which, for these extractors have been programmed for full extraction.
Delta extraction in principle is programmed based on certain fields like a change/creation date. Sometimes the business process i.e 'management of the travel scenario' may not be readily amenable to programming data-extraction.
In short, you do not have a quick solution for making these extractors delta-enabled.

I have worked with Weblogic Portal before, but it's been some time, I do not remember much and I quickly need to find some info.
We are making a proposal to a customer and have suggested Weblogic Portal.
I would like to give as much information about the technicalities of the CMS in Weblogic Portal as possible.
Could you please answer these questions ?

What about images ? Do i need to work on a special format to handle them in my portlets ?
Is it possible to load data coming from XML files into the repository so i can display them on the portal ?

As far as portlets go, WLP provides lots of facilities for creating your own portlets, to do exactly what you want them to do. It really depends upon what you want to do.
If you're looking to display images, also take a look at the personalization features like Content Selectors and Placeholders, which can retrieve an image from the CM system.
If you're looking to iterate over a set of content, take a look at display templates as a means to control the presentation.
You may be able to use re-portlets from the WLP Admin tools, though I'm not familiar with the details.

need more information. If you are talking about the talent assessment forms (potential, risk, derailers, etc) than you can only have 1 form active at a time.
if you are talking about performance management - you than need to decide if your talking about predefined performance management or flexible performance mgmt.
Predefined performance management only allows for 1 template active at a time.
Flexible - you can do anything.

Graphs for items that Performance Manager doesn't do

OnCommand Performance Manager has a fairly limited scope in terms of what performance it actually manages. Apparently it does capture the statistics but just doesn't show them. Despite the interface being pretty awkward to use in general, it would be nice if the range of graphs was expanded similar to what is available for 7mode. That aside, the recommendation is to use a third party system to pull the data from Performance Manager over API, for example Graphite. I'm wondering if anyone out there has setup Graphite for this purpose or have used other tools (if so, any in particular)? I was hoping to be able to see the traffic on a network interface, something that I had thought would be quick and easy, but setting up yet another tool is a bit of a speed bump.

I have heard many times about Siemens' PIM API, J2ME compatible, I have read a couple of articles about it (french article www.01net.com/article/181502.html for instance)
But I have never seen anything about it on Siemens developer portal (Java Wireless, Game API, JSR120, JSR135 are the only non-JTWI supported technologies).
Is Siemens PIM API a hoax ?

Make information about the current user available in a managed bean

I've overridden prepareSession in an Application Module (AM) so that when a user logs into my application, it immediately uses the username as a bind variable to execute the query for a View Object (VO) that gets more information about the user, like full name, e-mail address ... This works fine and I'm able to bind the VO to a page and display the information.
But now I'm beginning to realize that I'm going to need this information about the user throughout the application. Do I have to include an iterator for the user info VO and associated attributeValues on every single pageDef, or is it possible to write a single managed bean that will expose the attributes of the single row of the VO as properties. The application I'm working on now is a "minor" upgrade of a JDeveloper 10.1.3 application, so I need a 10.1.3 solution, but I have a 11.1.2 application in the works that will probably do the same thing.
Oh, and sorry if this is an FAQ - I'm probably not using good search terms to find solutions that have already been posted.

Your code didn't give me exactly the answer I needed, but it pointed me in the right direction. For one thing, I had a version of ADFUtils that didn't have the getApplicationModuleForDataControl method. However I was able to do a Google search and find working code for the missing method. And since the values I need to expose in the managed bean are from the VO, not the AM, I had to go one step further and get a reference to the VO from the AM, and then a reference to the first (and only) row of the VO.
For anyone else with this question, here's my version of the code:

I thought I'd give you a response even if I can't answer your question completely. (I think we ought to start a separate thread entitled "How do you get any replies on this forum???") Here is what I have been forced to do. I introduced some JavaScript on the web page that contains the applet I want to be run. The sole purpose of the JavaScript is to detect which platform the client is on. If it's not MacIntosh, then I have JavaScript write the <object><embed> tag used by the Java plug-in. It it is MachIntosh, then I have JavaScript write the regular <applet> tag and let the Mac browsers do as best they can. With mixed and disappointing results. Netscape 6.2 crashes with a lot of applets. IE 5 brings up the applet okay but certain Swing components aren't displaying properly. The MacIntosh I've been testing on is version 9.1. I'm trying OS X tomorrow.

i am developing an application with JSF/ADF faces + using
adf data model (EJB, not adf bc)...
i want to know more about state management of adf data model..
1. under what condition, will the data in the binding context
(methodIterator, variableIterator, accessorIterator..etc) be maintained accross
http requests? say browse pageA.jspx, pageB.jspx, pageC.jspx..then do data
in the corresponding pages saved somewhere else until session timeout?
2. how do the binding context data be saved ?? http session?
i can't find detail information in the adf bc dev guide and the adf dev guide..
could anyone give me more information about this?? any better document??
i have asked these question several times...but seem nobody can give me a
full picture about the adf data model's state management....it is quite important
in order to develop good application using adf data model.
my company have brought oracle's support service...can i get these information
through metalink (open a SR) ?? or actually no such information available ??
btw, after playing with adf data model for a few weeks, i do find it is very
hard to learn it... no complete document, information is just by providing example...
adf data model do make:
1. simple logic, supported by adf, more simple in coding
2. simple logic, not supported by adf, more complex in coding

i want to know the state management of the iterators...for some iterators..it's
state is maintained across requests...
please see my previous post: ADF JSF data binding: why state maintained between requests? that Frank Nimphius said:

in the adf dev guide..section 5.5.5..it says: "Upon each request, the iterator bindings are refreshed to rebind them to the
underlying RowSetIterator objects. By default, the rowset iterator state and the
data caches are maintained between requests."
in dev guide, it seems state is maintained for request for the same page, but not
accross different pages. but in fact, the rowset iterator do survive...
any detail document that write down the actual behavior of the iterators?
