Information Broadcasting - Error in the Workbook

Hi,
We are implementing Information broadcasting for the workbook. It works pretty good as far as running the workbook, scheduling the workbook on a precalc server. When we try to email the workbook we get the email but the file is corrupted. We see the following error on the precalc server log,

When we open the workbook we get a message that the excel is corrupted.
Has anyone had similar problems.

Hi,
Check the below error in the workbook for reference field of the query.

Refresh the work book and check it the values for the column. if you get the same error then check the corresponding reference value of the query. there might be some problems in the query/

Information Broadcasting according to the SAP factory calendar

Is it possible to circulate BW reports via the Information Broadcaster according to the SAP factory calendar?
It is our objective to circulate reports according to working days (not calendar dates). Eg, to circulate cost centre reports on the 4th working day.

As suggested above, you may need to create a new calender in SCAL. Points to be kept in mind during the creation of calender are;
1. Use special rules to create fourth working day every month
2. Keep in mind regarding the holidays.
3. You may need to validate this calender in future as you do not know the future holidays.
Option 1: Via Process chain
Create a separate/new process chain which updates the Infocube/ODS on which the report exists -> At the end of process chain, create a new process "Trigger event data change(for broadcaster) -> In the scheduling options of the process chain, use the newly created calender and schedule the chain -> In the Bex broadcaster wizard, select option "Execution with Data Change of Infoprovider".

Option 2: Via background Job
Create a new Job in SM36. In the scheduling options of the Job, use the newly created calender in restrictions. Create a new step for ABAP program RSRD_BROADCAST_FOR_TIMEPOINT and schedule the Job.
If user has authorizations then, Time Point defined by the Job will be visible in the Bex broadcaster wizard.

Information Broadcasting Error

Hi everyone,
I am trying to broadcast a Query on the portal. I have done the necessary settings. My query has few variable inputs.
When I select the query and press continue I am getting the following error.
I am getting an error that "the required varibales in the query are not filled - RSRD 250"
I am not able to fill the variable values.
Do we need precalculation server if we are not using workbooks.
Please help.

Information broadcaster error

Hello all,
I am trying to publish a query in information broadcaster.
all settings are done correctly.
I have selected the Output format to be HTML with a ZIP file.
But when i execute the query I get the following error.
"Error when creating ZIP file (return value 1 when IGS was called) "
How do I get rid of this.? Please help.

Hello,
I tried closing and reopening broadcaster.
The HTML File has to go as a ZIP File. Thats mandatory.
I guess it is a memory problem. Will check with the BASIS guys.

How to stop the information broadcasting mail if the output of the query is

Hi everyone, We have a requirement to not to send the information broadcasting mail in case if the query output is blank (ie no applicable data). However as per the schedule the mail should go in case if there is applicable data. In other words, users are not interested in opening the broadcasted mail to see if there is any applicable data or not. Inputs will be certainly rewarded

Error at the workbook wizard

Hi,
Join configuration can't be resolved. Reason: more than 1 of the detail folders uses non-aggregated items.
This is the error msg that I have got when I try to create add one table & fields to create a workbook. Could any one help me with this issue? Thanks,

Check to see if you are trying to display columns with data that are coming over as "Sum" instead of "Detail". In Administrator, columns that have numeric data defaults to "SUM" and I just change it to "Detail".

Filter, Information, Chart Buttons in the workbook are not working

i created a wokbook and done some modification.
When i click on one of these Buttons ( Filter, Information, Chart ) it is not working. How can i repair it?

The button should work with the macro because once clicking on it it can show information, filter, table , grap and so on.

Information broadcasting Excel workbooks

Hi All
I am trying to set up a scenario, so that I can broadcast 7.0 workbooks.
We are on support package 15 on SAP BW.
I have installed the precalculation server. However I am facing an issue:
When creating a broadcast setting from the workbook, the system gives me the following error message (in the log file) "Framework class CL_RSRD_PRODUCER_EXCEL type PROD did not deliver a document". Does anyone know how to correct this ?

i'm trying to send the workbooks by Information Broadcasting but getting the error mentioned below
E BExExcelPrecDLL.StartCalc: Connection was not passed to Excel
excel security is set to "low".

Hi,
Kindly carry out precalculation server set up with the help of basis team.
Prerequisites for setup:
     Install Microsoft .Net Framework (installed with SAP Frontend)
     Install SAP GUI 6.40
     SAP Netweaver 7.0 BI Frontend (BI Add-On).
     Install Microsoft Excel 2000 or higher
Main steps for setup:
     Install the pre-calculation software that is part of BI Add On.
     After Finishing the installation go to the Services Window of your operating system
     Search for Service called SAP BW PRECALCULATION SERVICE 7.0. Double click on the service.
     Enable Automatic as Startup type
     In the logon tab, mark the checkbox u201CAllow service to interact with desktopu201D.
     Log on to the BW system from the PC where you created the settings above and enter transaction RSPRECADMIN in order to Create Precalculation Server.
     Enter the technical name of the server (max. 10 characters) and a description. The description is language dependent and appears in the BEx Broadcaster during selection of a special precalculation server. The precalculation server, which from a technical viewpoint is an RFC server, appears in the list.
     Start the Windows service SAP BW Precalculation Service. The precalculation server is ready and the status display of the precalculation server shows a green light. You can now see the server in the Broadcaster setting dialog for a workbook precalculation distribution type.
     There is a log available to do trouble shooting. From Customizing (transaction SPRO): SAP Reference IMG SAP NetWeaver SAP Business Information Warehouse Reporting-relevant Settings General Reporting Settings in Business Explorer  Administer Precalculation Server Select the u2018Documentation for the Serveru2019 icon Display the Front End Log.

Information Broadcast Email File - Where is the file in Unix directory?

Hi,
I am using Information Broadcasting to email the BI report. We use Unix as the application server.
In transaction SOSV, I can get detailed information on the file (attachment) and the send status. There is a requirement to encrypt the file in Unix server. Does anyone know where the file resides in Unix when the report is generated from Information Broadcasting? What's the Unix directory?
Any information would be appreciated.

With this I am executing the command: javac test.java. However, it is still giving lot of error messages
All the messages are 'cannot resolve symbol' associated with the Servlet class, Servlet Request, Server Exception etc. In the very first error message it states that: 'package javax.servlet does not exist'.

Issue with controllable variable in information broadcaster jobs

Hi
I have a workbook with one query which displays different information on two tabs. This query has a controllable variable (customer exit) on "Material" from a query in another info cube.
Everthing is fine when you execute the workbook as you can select the variable from another info cube. However, when I set up information broadcaster job for this workbook, the controllable variable only takes effect on the report in one tab and runs for everying for the report on the other tab.
I tried to change the query slighly but keeping the same controllable variable and insert the new query into the other tab, it still doesn't work for me.
Is this just the limitation of IB or anything else can be done to get the results I want?

Rrror: RABAX_STATE for Information Broadcasting

Hi there,
Can you let me know how to fix this issue? I got error message when I use Information Broadcasting to schedule the query. The termination tye was: RABAX_STATE. When I checked it in ST22. It looks like a communication error. What can be the problem? Thank you.

Thank you for sharing your informaiton with me. I checked the error. The basis team responded me that the BW consists of 3 servers. Server A is central and has mail server and server B and C don't have mail server. It seems that my Informatin Broadcasting runs in the Server B.
Can I change the connection to server A? If so,will it cause any problems? What steps I need to follow to do so? Thank you.

Deleting Information Broadcasting Scheduled Jobs

Does anyone know how to delete an Information Broadcasting setting after the associated workbook has been deleted? The IB job runs when the data provider is updated and just hangs because it can not find the workbook. In IB distribution you can view the scheduled settings, but it does not let you delete.

I am encoutering the same problem from last one month, There was a scheduled job created for Workbook as daily frequency.
The workbook now has been deleted but the scheduled job created for that workbook is triggering everyday.I am unable to delete the setting now.Can you please help me out for deleting this background job!!!!
I deleted the job in SM37 with the option 'delete the job from database'(delete icon)also, but again it is scheduling next day.
Transaction RSRD_ADMIN is not working for me.
Please let me the procedure to delete this background job..answers will be awarded with maximum points

Information Broadcaster with variants

Hi All,
We have to send workbooks via Information Broadcaster to e-mail recipients. So, the recipients should receive the data for a special variant of an excel workbook. So, I have to create a variant in the information broadcaster to manage the distribution.
So, we have app. 200 recipients with 200 variants. Is there any possibility to create the variants automatically via BAPI or something else. Or has anyone an creative idea to fix the claim.
