Can any one tell me what is migmon tool and how to use it to do system copy.
How to create export dump and then how to import the same to get another instance up.

Searching for information flow tracking tool

Dear All,
I am new in the field of data/control flow analysis, and my current project requires me to find out the set of variables that can affect the value of another variable. For instance,
public void m(int x)
     int y = 0;
     if (x == 1)
         y = 1;
}In the above code, the value of y depends on the value of x. That is, there is information flow from x to y. I am wondering if there is any existing tool to do such analysis (e.g., given variable y, return x as a result), or I have to implement such a tool myself?

Open the business layer in the editor by double-clicking the business layer name in the
               Local Projects View.
In the Business Layer pane, in object properties pane
(Edit the dimension properties in the "Dimension Properties" pane. And find the advanced tab.
Or Edit the measure properties in the "Measure Properties" pane and And find the advanced tab)

Duplicate information using DTA tool

I've seen some posts regarding this...but not sure if there is any resolution.
I use the DTA to sync up my outlook 2003 contacts with my Pre.
As I continuously update my oulook contacts and sync up to the Pre (using DTA), it keeps duplicate information such as email, phone numbers and addresses. it's very annoying and i can't seem to clean it out, unless i manually delete the new profiles that it seems to create.
is there any way to correct this, while using just the DTA?

Sure, go into backup and turn it off. It will ask you to turn off and remove backup from server. Say yes and remove backup. Then wait about 5 min. Then do a partial erase on the device. Sign back into your Palm Profile. Use the DTA Tool to bring all the data back.
Word of warning. If you remove the data and you bought applications from the app catalog. It will remove the applications as well, making it so you will have to buy them again.

SFTP/FTP w/ migmon tool during system copy

hello - does anyone here knows whether or not migmon will allow/accept/use "sftp" in the "exchange mode" entry of the export_monitor_cmd.properties file? (the default file shows "ftp | net" as the 2 options).
our company has security restrictions in place to outlaw FTP. so w/o getting past that obstacle i need to figure out how to make migmon (i.e. export_monitor) be happy SFTP'ing the files (vs. FTP'ing them).
any ideas? thanks

I couldn't find any information on this, looks like SAP currently doesn't provide sftp.
However I suggest you raise an OSS message for the same.

Need information on adobe tool

We are evaluvating a tool to convert word document to pdf for our prestegious client.
Below are requirements,
Requirement 1:
Source- MS Word document
Target- PDF
1) Conversion of MS Word document to PDF through online. Here Word document content don't follow any specific layout disagn.
User wants pdf format should be as same as Word document including font, file layout, header, footer.
2) Target Pdf should dynamically generate content while reading word document. i.e it has to replace <placeholders> with the data read from DB.
3) Target Pdf should also merge some other pdf documents during conversion
Requirement 2:
Source- PDF
Target- PDF
1) User will provide PDF which has user data aswell as <placeholders>. We need to replace the <placeholders> with the data read from DB & generate PDF.
Please let us know which adobe tool would suite better for above said requirements.
Note: From my initial analysis I found 'LiveCycle PDF Generator ES ' and 'LiveCycle Output ES2' are suitable to 'Requirement 1'. Please let me know your comments on this.

Information about server tools Xi 3.1 SP3

Searching for a detailed overview about the server tools/products which can be installed with BO Xi ENT 3.1 SP3. My last experencie with BO was at version 6.5. Now looking at Xi it is totally different Want to do a custom intall but the list with server products is really large and out of my scope. When clicking on a product it gives a brief description but I'm searching for a good document where these are explained.
My primary's are crystal reports server to run queries from a third party application.Client tool to run reports on a universe basis from Xi sort of Webi/Deski. And a scheduler to schedule these jobs. With AND without possibility to make publications like in publisher.
Any tips?

Crystal report Server is a Server tailored to run Crystal reports, it does not provide ability to create Crystal reports, only run them.
BOE Xi3.1 can run Crystal reports as well ad Deski and Webi, and include all the tools to create Deski and webi reports, however, to create Crystal reports you need a Crystal Reports (designer) product. Which is separate from both BOE Xi3.1 and CRS 2008

Ant is a tool for automating the process of building Java applications. It can do just about anything you need to do: compile, package, move files around, even create javadoc. The documentation is actually pretty good:

At my company we use it to build our applications from source then take the classes, wrap them up with configs (and other stuff) and deploy the archive file to a location for each instance.
The config can be a little intimidating at first. I'd suggest getting a few example build files to get started.

Alert message in tool area with hyperlink to forum/km

Hi all,
I'm looking for informations about the tool area customization located in the framework.
I've read that we could publish a message in the header about information or important notifications, but I did not found any hint over ther internet nor in SDN on how to make it work (I'm not so experienced in portal dev).
I would like to do something very similar to SAP Marketplace for important events (maintenance, critical issues...): a warning message appearing at the top of the portal (in masterhead?) with an hyperlink to a document (km or discussion to put informations on the fly...) which appears only when messages are published (i.e. no link if no message is published, or an easy way to switch it off).
Any hint is welcome as tool arean is not documented at all...

Actually there are a few ways to do it .
1) If you want to put up message in Masthead , you will have to customize its par . You can insert a link , on the click of it you will get a Alert pop up(java script) showing the desired information . You can also put up a scrollable message in the masthead itself .
2) If you want to put up a message in Page toolbar , then again you will have to customize its par . You can place a link there as well .
If you place these messages in par , it means you will have to remove it every time from there and then redeploy on portal to bring these changes into effect . Instead you can also place these messages in portal database and query it to call it in the par files .

Mock RFP for SUN network management tool, desperate 4 help, just need specs

OK, I have a project that in essence is a mock Request for Proposal (RFP), I play as an intern, & our instructor roleplays the manager we need to convince. The different network management tools that were available were for example; HP Openview, Cisco Works, Sniffer....& I of course chose SunNet. We need to gather information on the tool, then turn around & design a relatively simple network from the specs that were given, & finally discuss how the management tool's abilities could benefit the (mock) company...power point presentation & all.
Here it is from the homework sheet given to us...."These products will need to be useful in a 5000 node network that has four main locations that are primarily Ethernet. There is a legacy 100 nodes of Token Ring attached to a mainframe. Cisco or Foundry routers connect the Four main locations, with swiches employed. Other connections to these sites are done via DSL or ISDN. Additional considerations are wireless communications, VOIP & Content delivery systems.
I know this is a lot & I'm not asking for someone to do all this for me, just simply provide any information you know about Enterprise management tools 2.0 or 3.0,or anything you may feel better suits my needs, as the links I have surfed about them give little to nothing about specifics that I need to make any argument. If you have any links send them...if you have anyting in hard copy I will pay for postage... I need to get this done & have little time as I go to school & work full time at Motorola (but only as a contractor), so I'm starting to choke & need help....any u can give is so very appreciated....& sorry to make this request a publishable novel here on the board, but thats what it is. Using a tool to add, modify or remove rows in a database table

I am making a web application in Sun Java Studio Creator, but I have one specific question. I have a database with table Customers and in the interface of my application an admin can add, modify or remove a customer.
In programs like Microsoft Visual Studio (ASP.NET), you have a standard tool for things like this. You just have to drag and drop a data table, bind it to the database and enable the Edit, Add and Delete links/buttons.
So my question: is there a tool like this in Sun Java Studio Creator too or do I have to write the whole code myself? And if there is a tool, which one and where can I find some more information about this tool. Because I searched it, but did not find a tool like this. Can anyone help me please?

To get a field expandable you must set 3 different properties to make it work fine:
1. Object Palette -> 'Check' Allow Multiple Lines
2. Object Palette -> Field Format -> 'Choose' Rich Text
3. Layout Palette -> Size & Position - > Height -> 'Check' Expand to fit

These are some of the tools used to compile hypervisor. Hypervisor source code is under hypervisor/src/greatlakes/huron directory. Source code for these tools is not included.
Try compiling hypervisor using the instructions provided in the README file. Platform currently supported is SPARC/Solaris.

CSS monitoring tool

Hi,
Is there any tool for monitoring the CSS boxes??
We have a Cisco CSS 11506 working for load balaning the application traffic for few servers, so now we would want to see the performance of the CSS in terms of no of hits coming in to the CSS and no of hits going to each server etc..
I know we can get some information through the cli of the CSS, but our management is looking for some data with a graphical output...
I have searched through the cisco website and have not found any information about such tool... so is there any 3rd party tool which can do this...

The MIBs in 7.40 have been modified to be consistent with other Cisco products within the Cisco private enterprise branch of the MIB tree. If you continue to use the former Arrowpoint enterprise OIDs (.2467), the CSS will not recognize SNMP requests.
They former Arrowpoint enterprise MIB branch was:

The .2467 needs to be replaced with 9.9.368 wherever it is used. For a graphical view of the updated MIB tree, refer to the Cisco Content Services Switch Administration Guide, Chapter 5, `Configuring Simple Network Management Protocol', Figure 5-2.
The mibs are located on the CSS itself.
You can ftp to the CSS and go to the mibs directory to download them.

CCMS is the best way to monitor your SAP applications, SAP has introduced lots of things to encourage use of CCMS for system monitoring. You can Install agents to monitor your systems. If you have a CEN system (SOLMAN) then you can Install agents in all the satellite systems and monitor all the satellite systems from CEN. You can also monitor the availablity of the satellite systems from CEN using CCMSPING agent.
For checking the Performance of the system if you have only ABAP stack then you can use ST03N where you can get the graphical representations as well. For JAVA stack you can use Eclipse which is a tool from SAP.
