Information regarding lenovo notebooks and windows 10

hello everyone, i hava question regarding windows 10 and lenovo notebooks. i read the last news about window10 and i noticed that this new update of Ms will not be delivered by windows update but ms will provide us an iso for fresh installation. I guess that doing this ill lose all lenovo apps and customization is correct?will lenovo provide to his customers an iso? or a method for updating the system without loosing his customization? regards

Hello,
Could you please provide a link to the article?  I haven't heard anything official yet announcing all the ways Windows 10 would officially be distributed, but I would imagine it would be delivered in multiple ways by Microsoft. The one I have heard the most about is the upgrade which installs over the existing operating system, while preserving programs and settings to the best of its ability.
My guess would be that the Windows recovery partition would not be touched at all, since that is how previous Windows upgrades have worked.
The Get Windows 10 app will tell you if there are known incompatible devices or software on your computer.  Information on how to check this can be found in this message.

  • TS3212 Downloading itunes on Lenovo Notebook with Windows 7

I am trying to download itunes on my Lenovo Notebook with Windows 7 via a wifi connection.  The box pops up to download itunes setup and I click download. On completion of setup download a prompt pops up to enter my administrator password which I do. Another box pops up that looks like an normal download box that says "Processing Additional Packages."  I have been waiting for 30 minutes and it has not made any progress.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • I got a question regarding running iOs and Windows using virtual software.

    Greetings!
I got a question regarding running iOs and Windows using virtual software. I recently bought a monitor so I can display Windows on it and run both OS at the same time. Now,I'm using BootCamp. I downloaded VirtualBox for "tranferring" Windows on it. Since I'm a new iOs user , what do I need to do in order to make work?
Do I need to un-install Windows from BootCamp, install VirtualBox and then install them again?
Any information would be appreciate it!

That should work to use OS X, you can run MS Windows using Virtual Box and use a seperate display for the Virtual Box window. That way you can run OS X and MS Windows simultaneously. However remember Virtual Box is freeware and not a commercial application like Parallels or VMWare Fusion and may not have the features of a commercial application. Support for Windows run in any virtualization application (Virtual Box, Parallels or Fusion) is not generally done on this forum as they are not OS X related. To get help on those apps you usually will need to go to their forums.
Remember IOS will not run on either OS X or MS Windows, it only works on IOS devices.
    Good luck with your installation.

  • Lenovo z710 and windows 10

hello, I'm a proud owner of my lenovo z710, Yesterday i upgraded from windows 8.1 to 10 home. There were a few problems, after the upgrade the system was unstable and laggy. After installing the windows 10 drivers from the support page , those who were available , helped to make it more stable but there a still performance bugs, the energy manager isn't full compatible , its still not (made) for windows 10 , in fact it's only for windows 8. I was aslo not able to find the dedust option? how can i use this option ? The Lenovo veriface program doesen't work anymore. An other wierd thing is , when i tried to instal the windows 10 drivers , the installer warned me that it was an older version. all intel drivers were older then the installed version? how is that possible? they are only a month on the lenovo support driver site ? There are still a lot of bugs in the drivers.PRIOR: energy manager             intel drivers             lenovo software : veryface                                         one key recovery

Since Windows 10 is a ways off from GA release, I don't think you'll find Win10-specific drivers until much closer to, or right after release.
We we do have a Win10-specific discussion forum: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Windows-10/bd-p/EN-win10
if you'd like to interact with other testers / early adopters.

  • What Lenovo notebook for Windows/Ubuntu dualboot

    Hey there,
can anyone recommend a notebook for Windows/Ubuntu dualboot? I've heard that there are many problems with UEFI. I would like to use Ubuntu 12.04.2.
Best wishes and thanks in advance!

T530 has been working prett y well for me since November or so... got it with 4GB RAM & 500GB SATA HD, because that was the best price/performance package I could afford at the time.  Since then got a little more OT pay and upgraded to 16GB RAM and a 256GB SSD, and moved the 500GB SATA HD to the UltraBay in lieu of the optical drive which I almost never used.
This model came with Windows 7 Professional, and I had zero problems setting it up for multi-boot.  I tinkered with several different distros - Ubuntu, openSUSE, Scientific, Mint, Fedora 18... Ubuntu was one of the smoothest installs, and pretty much everything - including almost all of the function keys for sleep, lock screen, volume, brightness, etc. work 'out of the box'.  Currently running Xubuntu on it for other reasons, but may go back to 'plain' Ubuntu sometime in the near future as not as many of the little things like the Fn keys work in Xubuntu as in mainstream Ubuntu.
Mine came with the oversized 9-cell battery pack, and that was the one thing that was a major complaint for me originally - the battery life under Linux (any flavor) was about half what it was in Win7; 2-3 hours vs 4-6.  The WebUpd8 site has a number of articles on adding various PPAs that help out with the battery life quite a bit - highly recommended.  Newer Linux kernels (since 12.04) are supposed to have better power management abilities, so I'm not sure 12.04 would be my first choice for that reason.  Some of the subsequent releases have been buggy enough that shorter battery life might be the lesser of two evils.  12.10 had some issues with one of the kernel releases (wasn't just Ubuntu, fwiw... saw the same problem on Fedora 18) right before 13.04 came out that caused problems - like unresponsive black screen after GRUB - with cards that have multiple video adapters (like the T530).  Installing the 'aftermarket' bumblebee drivers via PPA fixed that, while Ubuntu and the kernel team were still fumbling about.  FYI, the bumblebee drivers made a big difference in the power consumption as well.  Xubuntu recenly had a problem where a code error from upstream (XFCE) propagated down and caused semi-random (but very repeatable) logouts from X Windows.  That one has been going on 4+ months (12.10 and 13.04) and still not fixed in the mainstream version (had to install another PPA for a 'patch' to be able to run XFCE at all.  This is why I'm starting to debate about either going 'back' to the 12.04 LTS, or trying to hold things together long enough to get to 14.04 (next LTS)  and staying there until EOL for the hardware...
    YMMV,
    Monte

  • Lenovo G560 and windows 8.1

    Hi
This question is related to a laptop (Lenovo G560) with "Intel HM55 chipset + Integrated Intel HD graphics w/ shared video memory".
I wanted to know if windows 8.1 will run on it (At present it is running on windows 7 hom basic). The lenovo site does not have a chipset driver for windows 8 but there is one for windows 7.
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_IN/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?DocID=HT072731
Windows 7 has following drivers -
Intel Chipset driver for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)
Intel Management Engine Interface for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)
    Windows 8 has only -
Intel Management Engine Interface Driver for Microsoft Windows 8
Does windows 8 does need intel chipset driver? Does windows 8.1 have a generic inbuilt driver  for this chipset?  Will it work? Please help?
Also - will windows 7 drivers work in windows 8.1.

    hi rohit2276,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I tried checking the drivers on the Intel Websie for chipset drivers,
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx?lang=eng
And no drivers as well for chipset on Windows 8 and 8.1
The Chipset HM55 is fully supported on WIndows 8 thus not needing additional Software installation.
Yes the Windows 7 Drivers should work by doing a manual installation , but those are not recommended.
Since Windows 8 drivers are released for this model it means that the system should do fine with Windows 8 /8.1

  • Resored envy dv6 notebook and windows 8 won't load i dont have the discs

I bought an HP envy dv6 notebook used with Windows 8.  The person I bought it from did not remove her password or fingerprint scan, I was unable to reach them (i bought it out of state).  I did some research and found the best thing to do was a complete system restore - which i followed the directions and did.  I do not have the original driver disc.
I am now in a contant loop where it comes up with the first password which I successfully changed but would like to remove.  When it starts to load the administrator it goes into a constant loop of Windows did not load properly. Restart the computer.  And I fo around and around,  I have tried everything I have found on here and many other sires and still I am unable to get it to work.
I have a Windows 7 disc but I am afraid to even try it since I was told that the reset to factory settings would work and it doesn't I do not want to do anymore damage.
I did notice that the born on date say 00/00/0000  I am not sure if that is part of the problem or not

  • Consumer Notebooks and Windows 8 - Wireless/BT/WWAN & Radio controls

The content in this tread is for Consumer Notebooks that HP has tested with Windows 8 upgrade. Information may be useful for others, but drivers, applications and/or bios references are related to systems HP has tested and are providing updates for and may not work on other systems.
To determine if your specific system is one of those that HP has tested With Windows 8 and to download the instructions guiding you through an upgrade please go here and enter your Product Number
There are certain requirements that must be fulfilled in order for the wireless devices (WLAN/BT, WWAN), the wireless button (enable/disable wireless) and the Airplane Mode feature to all work in sync on Windows 8.
    Requirements:
    -  Updated Windows 8 BIOS with wireless button support
    -  HP Wireless Button Driver
    -  Windows 8 drivers for your Wireless, Bluetooth and WWAN devices
If all requirements are not met then you may experience one or more of the behaviors outlined below
    -  Airplane Mode and Wireless Button does not work interchangeably (if you turn off wireless using Airplane Mode you can’t turn it back on using the wireless button and vice versa)
    - The various Wireless Status options may be out of sync (wireless button LED, PC settings – Wireless Status, Airplane Mode, Network status in taskbar)
    -  Bluetooth device may not appear under PC Settings and may not work
To ensure your wireless devices are working optimally with Windows 8, follow the below instructions.
Update to BIOS with Windows 8 wireless button support.
Check here for an overview of HP’s Windows 8 BIOS updates, or go to the hp.com drivers download page for your product to download the latest Win8 BIOS
Once the bios has been updated you will have a new unknown device in Device Manager with Hardware Id  “ACPI\VEN_HPQ&DEV_6001”
Install the HP Wireless Button driver (SP58720)
Note! The HP Wireless Button Driver will not install if the wireless button device is not present in Device Manager. The Windows 8 BIOS with wireless button support must be installed first.
Install the appropriate Windows 8 Wireless, Bluetooth, and/or WWAN drivers (as applicable for your system)

This is a limitation.
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP

    Hello,
I have a mini 210-1080NR.  Due to a software problem I had to reinstall the OS. I now have Win 7 Prof working fine on it.  When trying to connect ot the Internet, I get the WLAN module is not present.  I tried installing the "SP48755" WLAN driver. It did not work.  I also opened the bottom cover, removed the WLAN module and reconnected to reseat and show a new piece of hardare was installed. This did not resolve the issue.
So, in Device Manager, the following problems display :
1 - Network Controller (apparently precents me from connecting to the Internet)
2 - Video Controller (no display issues, except my resolution only goes to 1024.
Per instructions of a Forum HP tech before, I went to the Details tab (first line) for both Network Controller and Video Controller and copied the Hardware IDs:
    Network Controller:
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&SUBSYS_145E103C&REV_01
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&SUBSYS_145E103C
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&CC_028000
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&CC_0280
    Video Controller:

    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A012&SUBSYS_3660103C
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A012&CC_038000
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A012&CC_0380
I suspect the Video Controller issue will be resolved once I connect to the Internet and update the OS and hardware drivers.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Lenovo G505s and Windows 7

Hello. I currently have Windows 8.1 on my Lenovo G505s but was thinking of downgrading to Windows 7 due to compatibility issues with games. If I downgrade to Windows 7, will I still have my Windows 8 License and be able go back to using Windows 8 if I decide to? Will downgrading to Windows 7 void my warranty? (I read online that it could, and this laptop is only 2 days old.) Does this laptop have drivers that are supported for Windows 7? Also, will the Bios update that fixed slower perfomance speeds work in Windows 7? And my final question, will the one key recovery button work in Windows 7? I read that it returns your laptop to factory settings, so does that mean if I use it it'll install Windows 8 again? I only ask this because my laptop didn't come with the disk. Sorry for all the questions, I'm not really a tech wizard and don't want to risk screwing anything up on a new laptop.

    hi cdeas13,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
If I downgrade to Windows 7, will I still have my Windows 8 License and be able go back to using Windows 8 if I decide to?
         - The Product Key is Embedded in the BIOS, The Product key is as good as your license, You will need to find a way to get a copy of it for future use (reverting back to Windows 8).
Will downgrading to Windows 7 void my warranty?
        - Support for Lenovo Applications Yes it will be voided but for Hardware Problems, those are still covered.
Does this laptop have drivers that are supported for Windows 7? Also, will the Bios update that fixed slower perfomance speeds work in Windows 7?
       - Yes you can find the drivers here
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?&DocID=DS035837
I believe that Windows 7 is not affected by the performance issue.
Will the one key recovery button work in Windows 7
If the Harddrive will not be repartitioned or formatted it will still work, a Recovery Disk Can be purchased from Lenovo Support if the Onekey Recovery will have issues.

  • Problems with Fingerprint Reader on Touchsmart TX2-1274NR Notebook and Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)

I have just upgraded my tx2-1274nr to windows 7 ultimate (64-bit) [my university released the upgrade a week early] and I followed the directions provided by technical support and downloaded/installed all the updated drivers and software.  Everything works great (actually better than great) except for two problems.
The fingerprint reader does not work. It shows up in the device manager, but when I try to register a fingerprint, Windows says no reader found.
This problem is not really effecting the performance, but it states on the device stage that I am missing a driver for the keyboard filters?  I am not sure if this is important.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  I am really loving the new system, especially the multi-touch (installed the drivers from N-trig)!!
    Thanks

Check this and this thread. You need Authentec TrueSuite.

If You have any version of Quick Lunch Buttos installed uninstall them and install this here which is provided by HP for Win7.

  • Need information regarding local , foreign and document currency

    Hi All,
I need to know the difference between local, foreign and document currencies.
    Thanks in advance,
    vinay

    Hi,
    Document currency:
This is the currency set at the POS for the sales documents. If the POS system is not able to send this currency to head office, the POS currency is used as the document currency.
    Local Currency :
Local Currency - This is, in most cases, the formal currency of the country. In SAP Business One, all the reports displayed in the local currency, and all the foreign currency transactions are translated automatically to local currency. This way, the local currency is the common denominator for all currencies, which enables balance calculation of multi-currency accounts/business partners.
Foreign Currency: This currency we will talk mostly in the Financial areas

  • INFORMATION REGARDING SUPPLIERS(BANK AND BANK ACCOUNT CONVERSION)

    HI ALL
I DIDN'T FIND THE INTERFACE TABLES FOR ABOVE SAID CONVERSION.
ANY ONE CAN SEND THE INTERFACE TABLES OR API.
FOR SUPPLIERS(BANK AND BANK ACCOUNT CONVERSION)
    THANKS IN ADVANCE

    Hi,
Release 11i: No such direct open interface/API for Supplier Banks, not sure but you may be able to use the Customer Banks interface (using dummy customer) to get the bank accounts in, then direct update or private API to assign to Supplier.
Release 12: Bank Accounts have moved to new table, not sure if there is direct open interface / API for bank accounts, possibly same thing applies at 11i.
For suppliers there is supplier open interface from later 11i versions.

I have downloaded and installed the trial for Crystal Reports 2008 on our Windows 2008 server.  I can open Crystal Reports on the server just fine, but I get HTTP 500 errors when I attempt to view a report hosted on that server via the web.
As far as I can tell, the handler mappings in IIS7 are not configured properly, although I confirmed that the Crystal Reports 2008 install did add several handlers.  I read that I must configure the application pool to enable 32-bit applications.  I did that and am still getting the same error.  Documentation seems sparse and I've spent the better part of the day searching the forum here with no luck.  What am I missing?

    Don,
Thank you for the quick response!
We will ultimately be using ASPX/C#, but this simple case has a very basic report with no databind, just a single text label that reads "test succeeded" and I'm attempting to access it by direct URL (i.e. "http://192.168.99.21/crystalreportviewers12/test.rpt").  This works on our Windows 2000 server running Crystal Reports 8.
I've also tested with a simple test.aspx file with only the line "Response.Write(System.DateTime.Now.ToString())" and that works just fine.  This file is in the same folder as the test.rpt file.
If I leave the Application Pool set for the "Integrated" managed pipeline mode, I continue to get a rather generic "500 - Internal server error".  If I switch it to "Classic", I get the following error:
    Failed to Execute URL.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
