i have a big project to make a software using java programming especially n using J2ME and Java Wireless Toolkit, and i'm a begginer for java programming. I have no idea for the interface and how to setting connection between my phone mobile and GPRS. what should i do? thank you

Program using javac and java

Hello all:
When I am in my file folder on my university of linux account, which contaning all the neccessary files(they are all in default package, which means that they are not in any sub folder of this folder) to run my program, I use the command(xml.jar is a jar file in the folder)
javac -classpath xml.jar Main.java
to compile my project, it says that it cannot file
symbol(the symbol is the name of a class I wrote in the current folder, so I do not why this error occurs?).
But when I was using the command
javac -classpath xml.jar *.java
No error was output, it compile successfully.
However, when I was using the command
java -classpath xml.jar Main < temp.input
It give me the following error message:
Exception in thread "main"
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Main/java
I was so confused about it, because my program runs successful using eclipse. I do not know what is wrong with it? Any advice will help

J2me and java card, need help to communicate

we are trying to put together a reader to read smartcards using j2me and we figure that it would be easiest if we could develop it to work with java cards rather than standard smart cards, the problem is we get garbage when we communicate to it, the chip sends us crap, any suggestions what might be wrong, any calls we might be missing, has anyone worked with j2me and java cards or smart cards, any help would be appreciated.

First of all - if you want to have one mobile application running on this just make sure that whatever is written in ME can use drivers from the reader chip ....
Workin on the PC is something completely different. There was one good example how to develop one host application in Java provided with the JCOP tools long ago ... I don't know if this is now in the new Eclipse tools.
But - there was a small API provided that can give you good hints what to do - and - once you have it on the reader side - you can easily integrate ME methods with this ...

Simple XML to Text onversion using XSLT and Java?

Hi all!
I'm completly new to using XSLT and Java and are trying to convert a XML file into a ordinary Textfile that I am gonna import into another application.
I started up writing a ordinary XML parser in Java which interpreted the XML file, but realized later on that it was possible to do with a ordinary XSLT.
So far it is a 2-step process right now, I've tied my XSLT to the XML file and then just open the XML file up in a ordinary browser and then get the result.
I found an example (http://www.onjava.com/pub/a/onjava/excerpt/java_xslt_ch5/index.html?page=3) where u hook up a XML file and a XSL file separately and the process it, and dump it to Stdout. But do I need to hook up a XSL file like this when the XML file is tied to a XSL file internally?

Here I am expecting some clarifications from you. Before that let you my environement.
My working environment :
Eclipse tool and added jmf jar to my project I did not do any thing more.

1) I am not able to recognize any video/audio devices using jmf and java sound APIs on My system.

Do we need any administrives rights for our working PC.
What is the procedure/ setup I need to follow from a java application to enable particular audio/video device since I dont about end-user system setup right.

2) I run the one sample audio recording application of this link (http://www.jsresources.org/examples/SimpleAudioRecorder.java.html) which is provided by YOU.

Can we create Interactive forms only with ABAP & without using GP, or Java

Hi,
I would like to know if we can create Interactive forms only with ABAP & without using GP or Java. We want to develop an offline solution using Interactive forms, but would like to use only ABAP for creating the forms. All the documents so far either refer to creating the forms, in reference to / in sync with: ISR (Service Requests), GP (General Procedures) or Java. Can this be done with ABAP alone?

Hello Ramesh,
You should be able to create Adobe Interactive Forms using only the ABAP stack (without GP, Java, etc). Please refer to the thread below. Hope it helps.

Per my understanding you have create an SSRS report with SharePoint list, now you don’t know to create the distinct parameters by using CAML query, right?
For the CAML language doesn’t have any reserved word (or tag) to set this particular filter to remove duplicate results, but we can use the custom code to do this function. I have tested on my local environment and we can do that by create one hidden parameter(Param1)
to get all the values from the fields which will add the filter and then create another parameter(Param2) to get the distinct values based on the Param1, we use the custom code to do the deduplication.

When I run this VB code, I get the above mentioned error. If I use placeholders for all parameters (like "{ call test_sp (?,?,?,?) }" ), no error occurs.
I really need to use the first type of syntax from above and not have to use placeholders for all parameters. Is there a way to accomplish this?

Are you getting any warning while importing the stored procedure?
Please check the below datatypes:
While creating the stored procedure, if you have used varchar(MAX), please ALTER it to varchar(255) and reimport to DS.
Also, the datatype of $message (global variable or local variable) used inside DS should also be varchar(255)
Try a print statement in between.
ADMIN.DBO.SPJOBSUMMARY(69,$message,$rtCode,$rtVal);
print('Message is '||$message);
smtp_to('leighattest.com.au', 'Results of ' || job_name(), $rtCode || '//' || $rtVal || '~~' || $message || '//', 0,0);
and see in the job log if DS is able to retrieve the output from DB.

Inserting a Gui program using JFrames and JPanel

I'm trying to insert a chat program into a game that I've created! The chat program is using JFrames and JPanels. I want to insert this into a GridLayout and Panel. How can I go about doing this?

whatever is in the frame's contentPane now, you add to a separate JPanel.
you also add your chat stuff to the separate panel
the separate panel is added to the frame as the content pane

Syntax errors using sql and java

Could somebody inform of the correct syntax for using UPDATE and INSERT SQL commands in a java program? Any information I can find demonstrates this with:
INSERT INTO table_name(column_name, ..., column_name)
VALUES(value, ..., value)
However - this isn't working? any suggestions - and I know its very basic, but I'm just learning.

With all those quotes and apostrophes and string concatenations, I'd be surprised if you got it right by the fourth try. (By the way, you appear to have missed a comma between "session" and "term".) Are you planning to insert more than one record in your program? If so, you should consider using a PreparedStatement. This will likely run faster, and your program will definitely be easier to read. Also, you won't have to come back here later to ask how you deal with data that includes apostrophes (the notorious "O'Brien" problem). Here's how you do that... you define the PreparedStatement only once:
