Infoset query to query

If i run a existing query it is showing any display.
If i run it through infoset query it is giving output ,if i want to get output through query execution how to do it. give me some useful suggestions.

Crystal Report Missing SAP InfoSet, SAP BW Query Connector

Hi,
I have installed SAP GUI for Windows 7.2 (Compilation 2) and Crystal Report 2008 SP2 then following by installed SAP Integration Kits 3.1 SP3 on my workstation. However, when i launch my Crystal Report designer, it do shows SAP toolbar however when i click on one of the icon (eg: Setting) the entire CR will hung and prompt me error and exit automatically.
Beside that, i could not find any connector for SAP (Eg: SAP InfoSet, SAP BW Query and etc) when i create a new blank report by click on the New Connection.
Appreciated anyone know this could assist on this.

By the way, i saw your post regarding the Integration Kits installation and configuration. However, i still need some clarification; appreciated you could assist me on this.
I have installed SAP BOXI3.1 SP3 on an LINUX machine (Redhat Enterprise 5) and the server was running fine without connecting to BW or SAP eCIBS.
Now, i have to establish the connectivity to BW (InfoCuve and BW Query) and SAP eCIBS system. As my customer requirement was required to using WEBI, CR and Xcelsius for connecting to BW for getting the data and then using scheduler in BOE for performing report distribution. Some of the report will connecting to SAP eCIBS directly and that will using our Client's machine for creating the report (using CR2008) and then publish to the BOE platform for report scheduling and distribution.
My question, i wish to install SAP Inter Kits and downloaded Inter. Kits for SAP Solution 3.1 SP3 from service market place. When i refer to the document from help.sap.com; there are couple of section but i wish to know which are the perquisite section that i wish to install and configure?
Eg: System Requirement which are installing SAP RFC SDK and SAP JCO SDK into my BOE server, then following my create a logon token. How to to that? It also require to install SAP Java Connector and SAP GUI, does these two available for LINUX OS as well?
The steps in doc was confuse, appreciated your kind help.

How to add an Infotype to an exsting Infoset (ad hoc query)

Hi,
How to add an Infotype (Ex. 0025) to an exsting Infoset (ad hoc query)?
I was trying by clicking on 'Extras' tab & create...I get three options, create field, create table or create structure.
I am not sure which to use or is there any other way? Pls. let me know the steps...
Also what is this 'Package', which is aked whenever you create or change an Infoset.
Pls. suggest.

I was able to add the infotype by adding the table as PA0025 & include all the fields in the field group.
When I check, I get the following error:

Adding Fields to Custom Infotype Using Custom Infoset in SAP QUERY

Hi All,
We have a requirement to add fileds to a custom infotype for querying Custom Infoset in SAP Query.
We are facing problem as the added field is not getting displayed in the Query set so that we can select and display it in the Basic List along with the other filds.
Kindly suggest a solution.

Thank you for your valuable information. I haven't Configured Dynamic Actions yet. Is it simple to write the Logic for Dynamic Actions. Is this the only way to solve this Issue?
I tried by adding the standard fields, but they are not populating the values; but just appearing as Input Fields with Input help option.
Please let me know if you have any suggestion in this direction?

goto SQ03 and create an User Group If U want to create Ur Own.
Goto SQ02 to create Ur Infoset by Giving Logical database name or Simple Database table
Then Choose What ever data U need to be included in The Qurey in field Groups.
Then Generate the Infoset
Now Assign the infoset to user group
Now goto SQ01 and Click on Other user group Button and choose Ur user Group.
Then in the USer group select Ur Infoset and then create Ur own Query and save this.
Now select the infoset query and goto More functions under Query menu and Generate report name.
Now Create a transaction code for the report name generated.
Now use the Tcode.
Hope U have got the basic idea of creating Queries.

Changing InfoSet of a Query

Hi,
Is it possible to change the InfoSet of a Query? How?
Here is my problem: I have copied a standard InfoSet in order to make some changes. Furthermore, I have copied a query that uses the above mentioned standard InfoSet, but I cannot assign my copied InfoSet.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can ignore the previous reply.. it was probably a mix-up with another post..
Anyway, after copying the standard infoset, you can try by creating a new query for the custom infoset, instead of copying the query also.

Tarnsport infoset and SAP Query

Hi All,
I have created infoset and SAP quesry and user group.
When i created user group it asked me the transport request.IT has been tarnsported to dev to QA.
But infoset and query are not moved to QA.
It is not asking me for create transport reuest.
Please let me know how to tarnsport infoset(SQ02) and Query(SQ01).

Query: Is it possible to change Infoset of a Query

Hello!
I have a question, I would like to know if the following it is possible:
I have Query A and Infoset B and C. At the moment Infoset B is assigned to Query A, would it be possible to assign Infoset C to Query A?
I was looking for this possibility, but could not find it anywhere, so if you have an idea, just tell me, thanks a lot!

Hello.
I would like to ask about using sap query to extract data from table in infoset. Is it possible to write an abap code and get data from certain table? I ask because I do not have any experience in that. Tried to find any examles, but nothing find.
My question is simple- how to extract data using simple abap program, then creatу an infoset with this query and then how to create attribute list based on infoset?

Hi Aryat,
Yes it is possible to include code in infoset and fetch data from database tables.
Go to tcode- SQ02, and change query area from global->standard and click change.
Now click on Extras,it will enable all the custom fields on right hand side.
Now select the field from the row and click coding for addition symbol as mentioned in below screen shot, it will take you to the program line screen and you can code here.
After completing coding save and generate the infoset and adjust the query again otherwise new changes will not reflect.
Hope it will solve your issue.

Unable to create new query using query manager

Hi friends,
I have been trying to create a query using query manager for couple of hours but still not able to.I am following the instructions given in oracle Peopletools 8.52 : Peoplesoft query
Chapter - creating new queries.
Below are the steps I am going through to create new query:
Step - I open the component Reporting Tools-> Query->Query Manager , I don't get the tabbed pages one for search an existing query and another for create new query.

Step 2 - When I click on create new query link, I am redirected to a page where it asks for record name to add in the query. But, even this page is not displayed as how it supposed to be

Step 3 - Following the above step, when I click on Person record to add into my query I am asked to select the fields that I want to display in the output.
But I somehow do not get the proper tabbed pages where individual pages are there to add the attributes to complete the query like adding multiple records, fields, query, expressions, prompt...etc

I am neither able to select multiple records in my query nor able to customize my query to get the desired results.

As I cannot access your screenshot by the blocking of company firewall rules.
I'm guessing currently you are using PT 8.52.00 version, correct?
This should be a bug, that you need to apply the 8.52.0X patch, not sure which patch fix this, you can apply the latest one to solve this issue for no tab page of query manager. (PT 8.52.06)

Using NVL in Query of Query resulting in error

I'm still using CF8 and Oracle 11G back-end.
When I use NVL in the query of query I got error....Can't I use NVL to check on null value? Please help

NVL is an Oracle function, and is not available in ColdFusion Query of Query. If you are trying to check for null values, then use IS NULL or IS NOT NULL. So

I'm creating an image gallery. My database has about 1000
records with 10 column.
Now I'm realising there's a lot of trips to the database.
Would it be better that when I init my app I store the "get all"
query and query that from that point? Or is the difference in
performance of querying a query as a oppose to a database not worth
it?
If you say I should query the query, how many records would
be too much to hold in memory.

It would be better to just select the records you need.

Hi Krzysztof,
There is no object in the SDK to access and execute the queries programmatically so you have to use the UI to simulate the user opening and selecting the query (ie activate the menu object for the query you want to run, populate any parameters then click on the OK button to execute the query). It's a bit of a messy solution but it can work ok.
The alternative is to execute your query from within your add-on and display the results in a new form. This form can just have a matrix and an OK button so it's very easy to create (via Screenpainter or at runtime).
