Hi Experts,
I Created 1 Infospoke with "database table" and unchecked "Technical key" and update mode is "Delta".
data comeing from the ods and upadted in infospoke database table.
But when say extract data is not updating in table with delta, when chaged delta to full upload the extracted and updated in infospoke table but i need "delta" update what should i do.
pls urgent

InfoSpoke Delta Extraction

I have two InfoSpokes in Production (NW 2004) with Delta as update mode.
Source ODS
Target     - DB table
The Business is asking for a 2years of historical data. I was testing this scenario in QA (the order in which the steps were performed)
1.     Changed the update mode from Delta to full (applied filters in selection tab so as to restrict data to only two years)
2.     Data was successfully loaded and now the update mode is restored to Delta
3.     For the First InfoSpoke, Delta extract was 0 records (success),
4.     For the 2nd InfoSpoke, Kicked off extraction, this terminated with the following Dump
Dump with Message type X
Message classe...... "BRAIN"
Number.............. 299
Variable 1.......... "RSBLOGSTATE"
Variable 2.......... "STATE_CHECK"
Can anyone throw some light here, full points assured.

Cube Compression and InfoSpoke Delta

Dear Experts,
I submitted a message ("InfoSpoke Delta Mechanism") the other day regarding a problem I am having with running an InfoSpoke as a delta against a cube and didn't receive an answer that would fix the problem. Since that time I have been told that we COMPRESS the data in the cube after it is loaded. It is after the compression that I have been trying to run the delta InfoSpoke. As explained earlier there have been 18 loads to a cube since the initial (Full) run of the InfoSpoke. I am now trying to run the InfoSpoke in Delta mode and get the "There is no new data" message. Could the compression of the cube be causing the problem with the "There is no new data" message that appears when I try to run the InfoSpoke after the cube load and compression? If someone could explain what happens in a compression also this would be helpful.

You need uncompressed requests to feed your deltas. Infocube deltas uses request ids. Compressed requests cannot be used since the request ids are set to zero.
You need to resequence the events.
1. Load into infocube.
2. Run infospoke delta to extract delta requests.
3. Compress.

InfoSpoke Delta - Avoiding First Large Load

Morning all,
In BW 3.5 we are about to implement a new InfoSpoke into the production client running off a large existing ODS. Extraction method is Delta but we don't care about the current information, just the daily deltas that will be driven going forwards. Is there any way of not having to process the tens of millions of records in the first delta run to get up to date ?

Hi Rob,
Its tough to set that delta points based on the Change log PSA ID.. u need to maintain the entry in RSBSPOKEDELTA table.. here if u can write a program which brings all the Change log PSA Id's with the proper status set for every entry then it will work for you..
But this requires a lot of efforts.....
When u use the Delta Infospoke it dirently access the Changelog request but not the normal request(Active one)...... So the amount the data that u are extracting the entirely depends on the number of changelog requests which are present in ur ODS.
My previous thread gives the answer I believe for ur case...!!

InfoSpoke Delta - Full loads

Hello All,
I have an Infospoke that's in PROD with Delta update sourcing from an ODS.
We have planned a full load.
With selection option 06-31-2005 to 06-31-2007
changed the update mode from delta to full and started the full load on
06-01-2007 and completed the load successfully on 06-09-2007.
restored the delta once the data is consumed from the /BIC/OHXXXX tables on
06-22-2007 (full load was huge).
During this process of full load, ODS was fed with deltas (load to ODS was not stopped).
Users are complainig delta data is missing during that period (06/01 - 06/09)in which full load was performed.
Can someone throw some light on why did the delta data is missing only for that period? Is not putting the ODS load on Hold the reason for this failure which messed up the delta pointer.

InfoSpoke Delta Mechanism

Dear Experts,
I have an InfoSpoke that I created that pulls data from a cube. The InfoSpoke was transported with "Delta" as it's "Extraction Mode" and ran for the first time in Production on 5/18/2007 (I assume that the first run as Delta would be the same as a Full - correct?). Since that time there have been numerous loads to the cube. Today I went in for the first time since the initial run to run the InfoSpoke to see the delta records from 5/18/2007 to today and it comes back with a message "There is no new data". The Delta Status shows as "Active". I can see the first run on 5/18/2007 in the InfoSpoke monitor and there were 3269411 records pulled at that time. There has to be new records since the initial load on 5/18/2007. I am stumped on what the problem could be.
I would appreciate any help anyone could offer.

There has only been one InfoSpoke run (request) against the cube and that was done on 05/18/2007 which output a large file. I am trying to run the InfoSpoke again as a Delta and a pop up appears that says "There is no new data". As I stated earlier I know that a 100K+ records have been added to the cube since the first InfoSpoke run. I do not know why it is telling me "There is no new data" when I know that there is.

Infospoke DELTA Mode

Hi All
we are using an infospoke to update data from an Infocube to ext DB table
The infocube is having daily delta requests and is exported thru this infospoke to a db table
the infospoke extraction mode is FULL mode and now i have a requirement to change it to DELTA mode
how to change Infospoke extraction mode to Delta from FULL
any pre-requisites or settings to be done here?

Infospokes - Delta load

Hello! Is there a way to do use a delta load when loading infospokes from master data? I notice that the option for delta load is grayed out when using info-objects as source. Thanks for your help.

No, there is no way to perform a delta on Master data via InfoSpoke. As an alternative, you could run your Master Data through a staging ODS object and create a delta enable InfoSpoke off the staging ODS.

Opne hub (info spoke) delta reset

hi gurus,
how to reset the infospoke delta becoz when i was loading to infospoke it has failed due to no data for selection records.the status change to red.
Next day again loading to same infospoke ( daily load) becoz of that red status again it failed even though records or there. i have to reset the delta. pl give your ideas .

try process the DTP Manually for Openhub. If prior requests fails, you will get an option to <u>repair or delete prior request</u> (we will get this option with DTP for Datatargets).

We are using two Infospokes,one for the Full and one for Delta.We get the full data using full update,But when we run the Delta Infospoke,First run it is picking all the records.From the second run it is picking deltas.Please shed some light on this issue.

How to use Delta Update in InfoSpoke & to include in Process Chain

Initialization / delta updates are what we do every day, and it is usually the update method of choice for most data targets. The delta mechanism ensures the consistency of transactional data. So if some data is wrong in the early stage of data flow, we have to not only correct the data itself but also the related records in subsequent data targets.
Unfortunately, such data can't be avoided in daily extractions. In some situations, the data to ODS is correct but reports errors while loading from ODS to Cubes.
Here is one example:
Some FI documents transferred in R/3 with LSMW's background mode and one of the line items 'Negative posting signal' was inserted with 'x' while the right one should be 'X'.
This line time stays cool in my ODS Z1CCWO01, but encounters errors while loaded into several Cubes when the process chain's running.

Delta In infospoke

Hi BW Gurus,
Can any body please give me idea about how delta works in Infospoke. I have to download around 80000 records data from infocube(Reques id say R1, R2 and R3)to DB table. Do i need to create two info spoke (1 for full upload and another for Delta) for same infocube as source.

Hi,
Please indicate the release you are working on (really old one like 3.5, or a recent on like BI in SAP NetWeaver 2004s). This works diffently in Bi in SAP NetWeaver 2004s, as the delta is controlled by the DTP delta.

Change delta enabled Infospoke Selection.

Hi,
We have a requirement to add one more selection to an infoobject available in Infospoke.
One Infospoke is delta enabled for transaction data & another one is Full for master data.
I can add that selection to both infospokes but need to know what things to take into consideration.
For the transaction data infospoke that is delta enabled, what are the implications of changing the selections?
For historic data, how can we provide this new selection values?
Any thoughts?

Repeating delta in Infospoke

Hi,
I have missed delta records in Infospoke. The first time 1850 records were uploaded to AL11. But before downloading the file, the Infospoke wa re-run again.
The second time zero records were uploaded to AL11, over-writing the previous file.
Is it possible to get back the delta records again???

Extracting delta through infoSpoke

Create a Infospoke based on ur ODS , Select the infoobjects in to the right hanbd side in the infoobjects tab and then give your selections in the selection screen. If you wnat the delta first you need to initialize your infospoke and then run the delta on a daily basis.
You can just create a program when ur ODS gets loaded to trigger the process chain where in ur infospoke is available.
