InfoSpoke initialise Delta

Hello all,
I have a question to the delta of an InfoSpoke:
I have created an InfoSpoke with download to a flatfile.
When I transport the new InfoSpoke to our productive system and start the delta extraction, I have no possibilty to define, which request from the source should be taken as the first delta. The problem is that my source is an InfoCube with more than 20 billion rows - so I'm not able to create the first delta, as the downloaded file is getting to large.
So - if anybody has an idea, how the extraction is defining the delta (in a table or something like that) I would be very happy to hear from you!

Anja,
When you extract the data first time use "Full" but always you can retrirct the data by giving proper values in "selection" tabs. Probably you will give a period for selection.
Once you done with this then you can change the infospoke for "delta".

I am currently working on CRM Extraction. I am using the datasource 0CRM_SERVICE_CONFIRM_I datasource. I have loaded the data to ODS.I am trying run Init delta without data transfer.
While running, i am getting the error message as
-> Activation of M records from DataStore object 0CRM_CNFI terminated
-> Full updates already available in DSO 0CRM_CNFI; Cannot update init./delta
Can u please provide me how to enable delta for CRM Datasources.

Change delta enabled Infospoke Selection.

Hi,
We have a requirement to add one more selection to an infoobject available in Infospoke.
One Infospoke is delta enabled for transaction data & another one is Full for master data.
I can add that selection to both infospokes but need to know what things to take into consideration.
For the transaction data infospoke that is delta enabled, what are the implications of changing the selections?
For historic data, how can we provide this new selection values?
Any thoughts?

Delete delta initialisation ends in timeout

Hi experts,
I am trying to delete the init option for 0crm_srv_costs datasource
infopackage -> scheduler -> init options for this source and delete the request.
However every time i do this the job ends up in a time out with the following error
Runtime error TIME_OUT has occurred
Message no. 00341
Diagnosis
Error texts from the batch input are not output
Only a placeholder
It was an initialise delta without data transfer.
Is there a way to increase the timout setting for this operation or another way of removing the init selection for this source?

Alright Jason,
You need to increase your time out parameter in rz10 for your dialogue process. Ask your basis team to do this. A resart of the system may be needed once this is done, but your basis team can confirm this.

Delta Failure in Infospoke

Hi Experts,
I have a doubt here on infospokes.
1] Is there any possibility to recover delta if it fails in Infospoke Extraction.? if Yes then please tell me how to recover for the infospoke. I know this is different compared to the data load delta. But this is the first time that I'm working on the Infospokes. So Please guide me on this.
2] I have a delta Infospoke with the selections on CALDAY(from 2006 to 99) and Company Codes. So initially we wil be taking full load and then after converting this infospoke to Delta in Delta Admin, then Delta will be taken care for the future. But I here I wud like to know will the delta will work for those selecions only? I mean.. Delta will pick the new or changes records for those selctions only or this selection is only for Full update.? I got confused over here. Please guide me,

Cube Compression and InfoSpoke Delta

Dear Experts,
I submitted a message ("InfoSpoke Delta Mechanism") the other day regarding a problem I am having with running an InfoSpoke as a delta against a cube and didn't receive an answer that would fix the problem. Since that time I have been told that we COMPRESS the data in the cube after it is loaded. It is after the compression that I have been trying to run the delta InfoSpoke. As explained earlier there have been 18 loads to a cube since the initial (Full) run of the InfoSpoke. I am now trying to run the InfoSpoke in Delta mode and get the "There is no new data" message. Could the compression of the cube be causing the problem with the "There is no new data" message that appears when I try to run the InfoSpoke after the cube load and compression? If someone could explain what happens in a compression also this would be helpful.

You need uncompressed requests to feed your deltas. Infocube deltas uses request ids. Compressed requests cannot be used since the request ids are set to zero.
You need to resequence the events.
1. Load into infocube.
2. Run infospoke delta to extract delta requests.
3. Compress.

Error while loading Delta request from one ODS to another

Hi,
I have 2 ODS . ODS1 is the source ODS and ODS2 is the target ODS. ODS1 has full loads daily
I have initialised delta from ODS1 to ODS2 and i was loading delta on a daily basis.
Today while loading from ODS1 to ODS2 it failed. Then i deleted the data from ODS2 (Target ODS) and tried loading again. But it again said 'No delta possible'. So i deleted the full loads from ODS1. But when i load again it says the previous delta is invalidated since the full loads in the ODS1 are deleted. Can anyone of you please let me know how to handle this situation without re-initialising.

I am not sure if you can go ahead without initializing again.
I feel you may not have reset the datamart before pulling the repeat delta. This was a mistake. On top of that you have pulled a Full request. It should have been ideally a full repair.
If you still have that full request in target try converting that into full repair by using this SE38 > RSSM_SET_REPAIR_FULL_FLAG (Change a full request to full repair request ) .
If it works you have a chance of continuing with your deltas. But you may have lost the last delta.
If it doesnt work and you have not pulled any delta after that load you have two options to retrieve the delta.
1. See if its in PSA. then pull from PSA and once done force request to green , next delta should be fine.
2. If its not there try reset the datamart in source ODS and pulling the delta again.
If both doesnt work you may need to perform full repair and then reinit.

Order not cmoming in Delta Que

Set up the delta jobs. But before that make sure that you have filled the set up tables and initialised delta.
Once you set up table, change one record and see whether the system picks up the data when in the next delta job. Check in RSA7 and RSA3.

Generic function module for delta - which FM ?

Hi all,
I want to create a custom generic datasource in R3 which uses a function module for delta extraction. This is straight forward for full extract (copy FM RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE - I already did this and have a full extraction working to BW). However I need to extract delta - and the above function module does not have example code for that (I have seen some forum posts that it 'can' be used - but this looks like a pseudo get around where the delta field name is passed in I_T_SELECT).
FM RSVD_BW_GET_DELTA_DATA seems to be an example code of a FM which can allow delta (i.e. manually codes how to fill date/time stamp information). However when I code this and try test in RSA3 it seems to try to populate the delta selection field before calling my function module! I need it to call my function and allow the function to specifiy the date criteria.
Can anyone help with an example of how this should best be done ?
Or can it only be done in a pseudo form using 'RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE' example FM.
Note: I have setup the RSO2 datasource to allow delta.
Also - I have spent several hours searching the forum - but please answer with a link if you think it does answer exactly this problem.

Have had a few requests for the code I used - I created a new custom function copied from 'RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE'. AEDAT has been set as the delta date for this data source in transaction RSO2.

Hi Experts,
i just wanted to create an infospoke on query results, i mean to say what ever the the data coming when i execute the query tht should come through info spoke..
now my question is if i create infospoke on multi provider, does it support delta??
and Infospokes does support to bring hirachies data if yes how we can bring hirarchies data??

Yes, use BAPI directly instead of infospoke.
Infospoke supports Delta, not sure of Heirarchies(i dont think so).

COPA Delta

Hi,
I am using delta enabled COPA datasource to extract copa data into BW. In our delta que(RSA7), COPA datasource is not accumulating any new or changed delta records. After a full load, I have successfully initialised delta and I can see the COPA datasource in RSA7. Can someone tell me what are the steps for a successfull delta method.

Simulate Initialization of Delta Process using KEB5 transaction and read <u>following SAP provided information thoroughly before you start doing this:</u>
You can use this function to simulate the initialization of the delta procedure for a DataSource and to set the time stamp of the DataSource to a desired value. You can then plan an InfoPackages for delta updates.
Note: Only use this function in the cases described below. Inappropriate use can cause irreparable inconsistencies in your data in the SAP BW.
The simulation occurs as follows: the system sets the DataSource status to "Update successful" and gives it the time stamp you entered. A data package is also logged with the interval 0 to that time stamp. This data package sends 0 records to the SAP BW.
It makes sense to simulate the initialization of the delta procedure under the following circumstances:
You want to perform an initial test in the SAP BW using just a reduced amount of transaction data so that you can view reports with data from your CO-PA DataCube, for example, without having to replicate several million data records in the SAP BW.
In this case, set the DataSource time stamp in the Date and Time field to a date a few weeks ago.
Apart from executing this function, you also need to make the following settings in the SAP BW to simulate the initialization of the delta procedure.
a) In transaction RSADMIN in the SAP BW, enter your name in the field User for whom the debugging mode is active.
Consequently, the indicator Update data in the source system immediately in the tab page Update parameters in the InfoPackage Scheduler is then unlocked for entries.
b) Create an initialization InfoPackage and deactivate the indicator Update data in the source system immediately for this InfoPackage. In this way, you stop the system from immediately processing the request IDoc in the source system.
c) Start the initialization InfoPackage.
d) In the monitor, set the overall status for this InfoPackage to "OK" (green light).
You want to continue a delta replication from a different DataSource. This is sometimes necessary (for example, after an upgrade from R/3-Release 3.x to 4.5) if you wish to use the new option for updating multiple valuations (transfer prices). You then need a DataSource containing the valuation category (VALUTYP) as well as the currency type (CURTYPE).
In this case, simply copy the time stamp from the old DataSource by entering the name of that DataSource in the field from a different DataSource. Then continue the delta replication from the new DataSource.
Note: The initialization of the delta procedure must also be simulated in the SAP BW for the new DataSource. To do this, follow the points a) thru. d) described above.

Records with duplicate key in Infospoke

Hello
I have a question with regard to the output produced by a Delta Extraction Mode infospoke.
I have an Infospoke running across a single cube that pulls a number of characteristics and key figures from said cube. The infospoke uses delta extraction and is run as part of a process chain after the successful update of the said infocube.
The output file contains two records for each record that exists in the cube .....
The first record contains all the characteristics and the correct values for the key figures - this record corresponds with the associated record in the cube.
The second record contains all the characteristics as the previous record but, all the key figures contain '0' values.
The two records in the infospoke output file are always sequential. Every valid record (ie record I would expect to see) has a duplicate with '0' value key figures.
Has anyone experienced this? As the key figure values for the output always correspond when totalled I am not too concerned at this stage but just wondered if anyone has seen this before.

Hi Sally,
Info spoke first extract data from F fact table and then from E fact table. If you are extracting data into an table you can choose request id and package id as key on top of characteristics. But when you are extracting data into flat file you cant. so you will get multiple records.
Try to extract the data into a table and check the difference. If you have same characteristic combination records available in E & F fact table you will get 2 records in 2 different request nos(Check in the Open Hub Monitor).

Delta extraction

Hi,
i have a DSO with 0request, 0datapakid and 0record as technical keys and so ln itm nbr, so sched-ln nbr, so surrogate key are semantic key, i need to extract data through infospoke using delta extraction, i tried to extract by delta it is show 0 extraction but i run full load it is working.
i checked roosoure table, in the resetdelta colum shows RSB2_DELTA_INACTIVATE.
Please guide me show to extract the data though delta.

hi IN BI 7.0 we once u r delta request was successfully complted(infopackage) ,select u r present request and on the same screen go for activation,it means data has to upload from new data table to active data table.because thr might be problem in patches.once this one has sucessfully runs then chk it.
before that chk data has coming comig till PSA or not

Problen in Intialize delta loading...URGENT

Hi to all,
I have an issue of BiW not reconciling to MB51 in R3.
We did an initialise delta for the Inventory Cube on 26-27 July. Since
then it appears that all subsequent delta loads are bringing in some
incorrect data from R3. This only seems to affect Plant ADMN for 35 type P.O.s. where positive values in R3 seem to be arriving in the BiW cube as negatives. This only seems to be happening to a very small percentage, but it is causing us a big problem.
Can you taka a look asap as this is a production issue.
I have, this morning, carried out further reconciliations between MB51 and the Stock/Non Stock Workbook in BiW.
I selected random periods as follows
01.03.2003 - 15.03.2003 plant ADMN £28.961m reconciliation correct.
01.11.2003 - 15.11.2003 plant ADMN ££50.302m reconciliation correct.
01.01.2004 - 15.01.2004 plant ADMN £37.219m reconciliation correct
01.07.2004 - 15.07.2004 plant ADMN £33.603m reconciliation correct.
I have attached a small excel file which shows reconciliations for 2005.
You can see that prior to 26th July 2005 all reconciliations between R3 and BiW are correct.
There are two main concerns.
1) there is no data in BiW for 26th July 2005 for any plant (excl ADMN).R/3 SIDE, MB51 shows £234k. I assume this data is missing as our initialisation load took place 26th-27th July. All delta's since then seem fine. Data reconciles.
2) More alarming is the fact that since the initialisation load, reconciliations for plant ADMN show daily discrepancies. It appears that some 35 P.O.s are having negative values and zero quantities in BiW but positive in MB51. This phenomenon is not constant?
Please tell me steps how to do?

Init delta from ods to two cube seperately

Hello,
Can we run init seperately two times for the two different cubes from a ODS which is used as an staging ODS?
ODS1-> for cube1 initialise delta with data transfer
ODS1-> for Cube2 initialise delta without data transfer
is it possible to do like this?

I think it should not have been possible to do initializing with data transfer and without data transfer for the same data target.
I mean init with data transfer to cube 1 and init without data transfer to cube 2 from ODS.
Not to the same Cube. Will it be possible like this?
