InfoSpoke ( OPEN HUB SERVIVE)

Hi Everybody,
I would like to use an InfoSpoke to share aCube Information with a CRM System.
I will try to explain the scenario I would like to achive..
I want that the CRM system checks every defined time if there is information to move into its system. Once the CRM System has picked up (or collected) the information from BW , CRM has to initiate a process to deleted the Information in the InfoSpoke.
1)
It is possible to do that, and how could CRM people to "program" something that do that?  is there something standard (I mean ...that one does not need to write a program..)that do that on the CRM side?
2)
It is possible to enhance the InfoSpoke structure on the BW side?? I would like to add a SYSDATE to the structure just to write on each record when it was written (created) on the InfoSpoke...
I am going to appreciate any idea and comments.
Regards,
FedeX

You can generate files into an application server and every time it will ger overwritten if file name is same. Why you wannt to delete the files...??

You can add the new field in BADI by enhancing target structure(adding new field) and populating using ABAP code in BADI.

  • Infospoke/Open hub services

Guys, I am having problem with creating open hub services.  I have to push the data out to csv file.  I have been able to give it a name and see the field but what is next?  Is there something that I need to push to trigger it to create the file with the data in it?  Also please correct me if I am wrong Isn't Infospoke same thing as open hub services?  Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    RG.

Once the file name is given,if its a download to PC then it can only be executed in Foreground(Dialog).
Give necessary selections for the download & execute.
The open hub service allows you to distribute data from a BI system to non-SAP data marts, analytical applications, and other applications. It ensures controlled distribution across multiple systems. The InfoSpoke defines the object from which data is taken and the target into which it is transferred.

  • Infospoke (Open Hub)

    Hi,
I want to retrieve the contents of a query to a flat file suing infpsoke and not rscrm_bapi due to some consistency issues. The query i am interested in has certain calculated key figures (summations of cumulative key figures). Since the infospoke cannot extract calculated key figures into a table or file, is there an option of doing this?
Is BADI an option to bring in the calculated key figures into a file or table?
    Thanks

    Hi,
You can use the BADI within the infospoke to actually perform the calculations and then extract out the data to table or file. So, yes you can basically manipulate the data using the BADI and then extract it.
    Cheers,

  • Open Hub Destination - SAP CRM

    Hi,
We would like to transfer bulk data from SAP BI (Data Store Object) into SAP CRM. Performance of APD has been very poor. As an alternative, we are checking the feasibility of using InfoSpoke/Open Hub service to transfer data from data store object to ADS (analytical data store i.e. custom table in CRM).
Has any one tried this before?
Can we use remote database (i.e. not SAP BI) in open hub destination?
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi ,
Yes I have used Info Spoke/Open Hub service to transfer data from my SAP BI to other Sap system.
We have a process chain which has start node and 3 parallel node extracting data from 3 different ODS.
All 3 nodes are connected to a AND node , after then there is a programmer  (Unix script) which has does FTP, Abap program can also be used for this.
While doing FTP , give destination address CRM system.
I am sure this will work.

  • Data selection in new Open Hub destination Vs Infospoke

In BW 3.5, we can use T code RSBO to create Infospoke, In the selection tab, we can use any infoobject in the source infocube as the data filterfor the infoSpoke, e.g I can set company code as 1002 etc, while in the new  BI 7.0, Open Hub Destination,  where I can achieve the same by set the filter for a specific infoobject in the source cude?

For Open Hub in BI7 we are creating transformation and DTP. The same resrtiction you can give in DTP (activate it after change).

  • What's the difference between Infospokes and Open Hub Destination in BI 7?

I understand the API that a 3rd party tool uses to get data our of BW using infospokes.    Is it the same API that a 3rd party tools such as MS-SSIS uses?   Supposedly  that software only communicates with an OH Destination and not Infospokes.   So apparently is does use a different API.   If that's the case, where can I find documentation on that API for OH Destintations?

Open Hub Destination (OHD) replaced InfoSpokes as of BI 7 SPS 6, for Open Hub Service. Existing InfoSpokes can be used still, but it's recommended that any new retractions be created as an Open Hub Desitnation, because it exposes more functionality (e.g. Transformations and functionalities with DTPs).
Here's a document on [Open Hub Service - 3rd Party Integration|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/icc/bw-ohs%20open%20hub%20service%2c%20third-party%20integration.pdf] (see Page 7). Hope this helps.

  • Open Hub Vs Infospoke

    Hi All,
In BW 7 We are using Open Hub & previously using Infospoke in BW 3.5. My question is in infospoke we have the flexibility of using BADI but in Open Hub we dont have that option. can we still use infospoke instead of Open HUB. Are there any advantages of open hub over infospoke.
    Thanks,
    Kiran.

    Hi,
The open hub service enables you to distribute data from an SAP BW system into external data marts, analytical applications, and other applications. With this, you can ensure controlled distribution using several systems. The central object for the export of data is the InfoSpoke. Using this, you can define the object from which the data comes and into which target it is transferred.
Through the open hub service, SAP BW becomes a hub of an enterprise data warehouse. The distribution of data becomes clear through central monitoring from the distribution status in the BW system.
    Functions
BW objects such as InfoCubes, ODS objects, or InfoObjects (attributes or texts) can act as open hub data sources. You can select database tables or flat files as open hub destinations. Both a full and a delta mode are also available as the extraction mode.
Components of the Open Hub Service
The open hub service is made up of the following objects:
    InfoSpoke
The central object for the data export is the InfoSpoke.
    The InfoSpoke defines the following:
u2022 The open hub data source from which the data is extracted
    u2022 The extraction mode
u2022 The open hub destination into which the data is delivered.
In addition, you can also select which data selection is to be extracted from which InfoProviders. This selection ensures that a destination for different points in time from the same InfoProvider can be supplied with data for different selection criteria using a delta. The selection set is freely configurable as long as extraction has not taken place in the delta mode. Once it has, this no longer applies.
    Open Hub Data Source
BW objects such as InfoCubes, ODS objects, MultiProviders and MultiProviders and InfoObjects (attributes or texts) can function as open hub data sources. If you use an InfoCube with non-cumulative key figures as a data source, refer to the note regarding the settings on the Selection tab page in Creating InfoSpokes.
    Extraction Mode
An InfoSpoke can extract data in two ways: in full mode (F) and in delta mode (D). See InfoSpoke Extraction Mode.
    Open Hub Destination
Database tables (from the database in the BW system) and flat files (CSV) can act as open hub destinations. See also Extraction to Database Tables and Extraction to Flat Files. You can extract the data from a database to a non-SAP system using APIs with a third-party tool. See also Extraction to Non-SAP Systems.
The open hub destination includes all information about a target system for the InfoProvider data: type of destination, name of the flat file or the database table. It also contains a logical target system. The logical target system is used to structure the individual open hub destinations in the open hub monitor. The open hub monitor groups the requests according to logical target system, open hub destination and InfoSpoke. By specifying a logical target system, you get a better overview of the individual open hub requests.

    Hi
u can use the DTP and transformations to load this data to Openhubservice from BI system
    • Create Data transfer process (DTP) by right clicking the master data attributes
    • In extraction tab specify extraction mode ( full)
    • In update tab specify error handling ( request green)
    • Activate DTP and in execute tab click execute button to load data in data targets.

  • Open Hub in BW 3.5

    Hello Experts,
I need to dump all the data (with all the characteristics) of an infocube onto a table.
For this, I am implementing it through an infospoke.
I am selecting all the 42 infoobjects which are present in my infocube.
However I am getting an error which says that only 16 chars are allowed.
Can someone please tell me as to how I could dump the entire data of the cube (with all the characteristics) onto a table through open hub.
If not through open hub, could some one pls if there is any alternative method to dump the cube data onto a table.
    Regards
    Dipali

Thanks Pramod and Praveen.Have assigned points
My problem is solved and I am able to proceed further.
I am now proceeding further to dump the data from the cube to the DB table.
I have activated my infospoke.I now have the destination as say eg: /BIC/OHZTEST.
However under se11, I am not able to see this table yet.
Is there somethign that I am missing inorder to push the data from my cube to the DB table?
PS: I have already selected the datasource as my cube

  • Open Hub in BW 3.1

    Hi,
Can someone please clarify me about open hub steps in SAP BW version 3.1. I no more have access to 3.1 system as of now but has to put my views for a new development strategy. I am not sure whether it had something like InfoSpoke what we use in version 3.5 (I worked in 3.5 too).
Also if you can throw some light on its licensing then it would be great. I am not sure license would be required or not when customer uses open hub to extract data from SAP BW 3.1 InfoProvide.
    Ritika Sharma

I need to clarify if any of you have idea about SAP BW 3.1, whether it has InfoSpoke? And will our customer need to have license if data from InfoProviders has to be extracted?
We have to use InfoSpoke as a one time activity to extract data from SAP BW InfoProviders.
Any clarification on the same would be appreciated.
