Infotype 439 relevance with Time

Hi SAP gurus,
can any body plz help me out regarding this info type 439.For what purpose does it use and what information we store in this info type . I tried to search about in SAP help also but didn't found/
Actually when Time administrator is trying to upload the Over time of an employee then system is giving the message that you don't have any authorization for the info type 439.
I am not able ablt to find out the relevance of this issue with the authorization of info type 0439.

I dont know if you are still interested in IT 0439.
The infotype is used in shift planning (transaction PP61) to check whether the time data of the employees is up to date.
I think the problem is caused because of if an infotype record is missing for the personnel number in the shift planning transaction, the system issues a message to this effect.
Please check the report RHSP_ADMIN_IT0439 for more information on this issue.

For Eg IT0008 taking capacity utilisation and Work hours/period from infotype 0007 ( capacity utilisation level and Employment percent)
For absence valuation in payroll the absence types will have to mention (IT2001)

HR: 0hr_pt_2 Created an Infotype 439 in HCM

Hi All, we just went live with HR Analytics for BW. When we initialized the datasource 0HR_PY_1, we saw that it created infotype 439 in HCM under ID ALE_BW_HCM. Due to which there were security issues in HCM system because infotype 439 was not part of the user's security profile. SU53 showed that they didn't had access to 439.
The reason is quite unknown. I have never heard about any BW extractors creating any entries in the source system. Has anyone faced or worked on similar extractor? Kindly help us understand the issue. Thanks

Partitioning harddrive with time machine?

I've just purchased a macbook along with a 500 gb hard drive to accompany it and to store my loads and loads of music files that would otherwise clog the space on my computer. I've come to the realization though that I would like to use time machine to backup my files, but seeing as I only have 160 gb's on my computer it seems pointless to utilize this whole hard drive for time machine solely. I would much rather put my music files on the hard drive outside of the realm of time machine. I realize that this way my music files would not be backed up with time machine, but having them archived on the hard drive would be safe enough for me anyway since I have all the cds if something were to go wrong. Is there anyway that I can use an external hard drive for both time machine and file storing?

Relevance of Time series data in PPDS

Hi, we have an SNP planning area with some times series KFs in it. if we delete the time series for the PA what impact it would have on PPDS..
or what would be the relevance of times series data in PPDS?..

the only relation of time series data to PP/DS I know of is Time-dependent safety stock planning in PP/DS.

In Customizing for PP/DS, define the following:
· Make SNP key figures available
You define which SNP key figures PP/DS should use as safety stock or daysu2019 supply. (Make SNP Key Figures Available)
· Define planning area
You specify an SNP planning area that contains the key figures for the time-dependent safety stock/daysu2019 supply levels. (Global Settings ® Maintain Global Parameters and Defaults)
if you did not use the planning area and key figure there should be no influence.

IT0009 with Time Constraint 1

Hi Experts,
We have defined IT0009 with a subtype whcih has Time Constraint value as 1. Ideally we shouldn't be able to delete the IT0009 with Time Constraint 1. But still we are able to delete all records for It0009. Could anybody tell why this is happening?

Time constraint Class for infotype 0009 is T that means it will depend upon the subtype
If you change this time constraint class to one in table V_512W_D you will not be able to delete the recods for 0009.

SAP Travel Management Integration with Time Management

Hello Gurus,
Need some assistance with Travel integration with Time Management.
Scenario.
Punch in Punch out system at the client so when the employee is traveling or when he enters the Trip Request, after approval the attendance should be counted.
Is there a config step for the same or a BADI needs to be implemented in this scenario ?

A direct update of time infotypes is not possible. You can however switch on the integration in view V_T702N_A. With add. user parameter START_CATS = X you have the possibility to jump to CAT2 to record the time. For the update of the infotypes you have to follow the subsequent steps in time management.

Your pro doesn't matter.. I presume it is happily working.
Your imac setup has got messed up because you changed from a local (my book being USB type I presume) to network drive. Did you do a clean install of Lion?
Did you use the backup from the Pro on the imac? Otherwise I don't see how the Pro shows up in use previous disk. Where is Pondini when you need him??
You cannot download Time Machine as an App and replace the current version. It is built into the OS.. the only way to do it is a clean install. Unfortunately that might be the only way around the issue.
There is a number of issues that Pondini has covered in the setup issues of troubleshooting.

If it was me, I would store all the info you need.. not using TM but using a straight copy of files.
Then clean install Lion. I doubt any of these issues would exist if you had not installed Lion over existing setup or used a different backup.

Can I replace hard drive with Time Machine backup?

I couldn't phrase this right to see if some already asked. I have MacBook with a 250gb HDD and I have a new 500gb HDD. I bought a USB Hard Drive enclosure and have been backing up with Time Machine. So my question is, can I take out my 250gb HDD and put in my Time Machine Backed Up 500gb, and boot up like normal? Or are there some steps I need to do?

No, you cannot do what you've asked.
What you can do is this.
1) using your install DVDs or an install USB, install OSX on the external 500GB drive. When setup assistant starts, point it to your 250GB drive so all your settings and files get migrated over.
2) now you can swap drives and it should work. Have your install USB handy incase something goes wrong. Put the 250GB drive in your external enclosure so you can access it if needed for a reinstall.

How do I add an Airport Extreme with Time Capsule to an existing non-Apple network? I have an ISP provided wireless Router that has to remain as the base station. I am able to join my 1/2TB Airport Extreme and Airport Express to the network, but I can't access/use Time Machine.

One option would be to connect the Time Capsule (TC) to the ISP-provided wireless router by Ethernet. You can then configure the for a roaming network. Then, depending on what your goal is for the AirPort Express, you can either: 1) Add it to roaming network, 2) Configure the TC & the Express for an "extended" network, or 3) Configure the Express to "join" the roaming network for AirPlay.

You can direct connect your MBA to the LaCie via USB 2 cable. If you have an Apple Airport Router you can USB connect the LaCie drive to the router and then use Airport Utility to configure it. Time Machine can access it either way.

How does this work with multiple systems backing up with time machine

I was wondering as Apple states that this will do multiple time machine backups as in multiple computers, how does this do this? I am assumng that it will require me to partition the srive in the unit as multiple partitions. 1 for each time computer with time machine running.

Do you mean that the backup belonging to each user will be protected by filesystem perms? In other words Alice's backup will be owned by Alice and only readable by her, ditto for the hyperthetical Bill?
I guess in other words, does Time Machine preserve file ownership perms?

Can I use Extreme with Time Capsule to extend my gateway router and still use Capsule as "external HD"?

Bought Airport Extreme with Time Capsule version 7.7.2 with 2 Terabytes Feb 2014. It was probably an expensive mistake, but after searching for weeks for a external hard drive, it seemed reasonably priced to just use the capsule as my external hard drive for the price I paid. Spend an hour with Apple Care to get it working-had to use ethernet cord to my iMac OS 10.8.5 processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5. I did not "need" the airport as we have a Winstream SAGEMCOM modem/router (Sagemfast 1704) But, I was desperate and about to lose my old external hard drive with literally had 3 computers worth of information on it. It had already "died" once, but got it back, so once I got the airport/capsule and was told I just paid for an expensive HD, I had no time to take it back to get something else-I had to transfer my info right then. We (Apple Care) could not get it to work as a HD wirelessly. It may be because it was being set up for the first time; I don't know. I was hoping I would get a transcript of all done so I could do it myself if needed later on, but when I looked at my email-they didn't do that. (Don't know if that is normal, I was used to other "techs" sending the email.) So now I really want to try to move my airport and "extend" our wifi as it said on the "box" that you could do...
Our Windstream router had to be placed in the lower level at the bottom of our stairs. The stairway is "open" (no door going down the steps). I want to place the Extreme at the top of the stairs so that we can use some things in our offices or not have Netflix on our TV lose connectivity when we all are on our computers.
I know I need an ethernet cord to connect directly with the modem/router to the Airport Extreme. I don't know what I will need to do after I connect it as it was so goofy when we set it up the first time (With the app it would disappear and not show up..) But my biggest concern is will I be able to still use the capsule as my hard drive and will I be able to do it wirelessly? (Even with it connected by ethernet, every day I have to re-connect to it before I can click on anything on the hard drive. It never shows up on it's own as my old HD did. That drives me nuts.) I do back up using the Time Capsule feature as well. I appreciate any help.

Connecting the Time Capsule (TC) to the existing Winstream by Ethernet would be the basis for a roaming type network. This type of network allows you to basically "roam" with a wireless client and connect to either router. This, in essence, would provide you with an "extended" wireless network. The Apple routers can work with just about any manufacturers' routers in this fashion.
The keys to having a successful roaming network are as follows:
The routers must be interconnected by Ethernet.
Both routers will broadcast their own Wi-Fi network, but MUST use the same Network Name (or SSID), wireless security type (WPA or WPA2), and wireless password.
The TC MUST be reconfigured as a bridge.
Connect a single Ethernet cable between one of the Winstream's LAN ports and the WAN (circle of dots) port on the TC.
The basic steps are:
Power-down the Winstream.
Perform a "factory default" reset on the TC. Leave the TC powered-down after the reset has completed.
Connect the TC to the Winstream using an Ethernet cable.
Power-up the Winstream. Wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it to initialize.
Power-up the TC. Wait at least 5 minutes to allow it to initialize. (Note: Since we just reset the TC it will be performing as a wireless router that will be broadcasting an unsecured Wi-Fi network with a Network Name of something like: Apple Network NNNNNN)
Connect your computer to the Winstream's Wi-Fi network.
Run the AirPort Utility. select the TC, and then, select Edit.
Go to the Network tab.
Change the Router Mode option to: Off (Bridge Mode)
Select the Wireless tab.
Verify that the Network Mode option is set to: Create a wireless network
For Wireless Network Name, enter the Wi-Fi network name used by the Winstream.
For Wireless Security, select the equivalent security type that is used by the Winstream. (Note: Use "WPA/WPA2 Personal" if the Winstream is using WPA/TKIP. Use "WPA2 Personal" is the Winstream is using WPA2/AES.
For Wireless Password, enter the same password used by the Winstream.
Select Update and allow the TC to restart.
As far as your external HD, yes you should still be able to use it as before.

Time Capsule Not Working With Time Machine

I'm trying to backup to my Time Capsule, which I haven't used in over two years. It had been displaced because of a change in internet service providers. The new provider came in with a Linksys router, setup a sub-network, and left the Time Capsule/Airport out of the mix.
So I want to return to using my Time Capsule and have since pulled out the Linksys router, and got the Airport functionality working with the existing, primary network. In other words, the Time Capsule/Airport is working to extend the range of the network.
Problem is this: I cannot backup to the Time Capsule. Even if I'm connecting to the Time Capsule via ethernet, I cannot get it past the 'preparing' phase when running Time Machine. It stays at the phase for what seems to me an inordinate amount of time (30-45 minutes). If I go into System Preferences, the Time Capsule disk doesn't make itself available when using it with Time Machine. If I choose to go into the Star Wars display of Time Machine, I can sort of see the various backups, but I can't roll back to them, and the backup indicator on the right looks sort of ghosted, like it's there but it's not there.
How do I know if the disk within the Time Capsule is failing? Could that be what's going on? How would I test it? I get a green light on the front of the TC, but not everything is hunky dory since I'm not able to backup.
Is part of my problem that I'm using a not up-to-date version of Airport Utility? –I'm using 5.4.2
