Infotype Family Members

Dear All
When I create a record of Infotype 21 (Family Member) for an employee, the last name is defaulted from the last name of the employee. But my client strictly doesnot need that.
In the feature NLNAM I have maintained the return value as 00. But still it is not working
Please Help.

What I have done is I have selected the Company Code that I have in my system under BUKRS and to that Company Code I have given a return value as 00.

Family Members Overview Screen

Hello :
We happen to use ESS family member iview for 'Emergency Contact'. When we implemented this, we only want 1 emergency contact. Therefore, in 'Family Members' overview iview, we somehow turned off repeating block (i.e. if multiple records coming back (more than 1 child), each record is displayed in a block). Unfortunately, I don't remember what we did.
Now, we need to have these blocks turned back on (as an ee can have several emergency contacts). We already config the proper use-case(T7XSSPERSUBTYPE) for this infotype on SAP back-end. However, I don't seem to find where to turn the repeating blocks back on on portal site. I thought it would be in 'Preview', but don't see other repeating blocks in there.
This causes ESS to error out when going to this iview, and there're more than 1 records to display).
Appreciate any help on this.

Go to SE16 and give the table name u201CT591Au201D
In the selection screen give INFTY = 0009 and Execute ( F8)
And check the time contrarian what is set for the subtype.
At the same table you can set the time contrarians also.

Family members dependent scenario

Hi all
i have got a problem.
The problem is related to IT 21.
Actually one of our application fetches the family dependents data from the IT21.
We need that if a daughter gets married there should be some meachanism or some flag ..that can tell the system that now the girl has married and she will be excluded from the family members.
How can i do this.

Hi for your reference
1) Go to Transaction PM01.
2) Enter the custom Infotype number which you want to create (Should be a 4 digit number, start with 9).
3) Select the Employee Infotype radio button.
4) Select the PS Structure Infotype.
5) Click on Create A separate table maintenance window appears
6) Create a PS structure with all the fields you want on the Infotype
7) Save and Activate the PS structure
8) Go back to the initial screen of PM01.
9) Click on All push button. It takes a few moments.
10) Click on Technical Characteristics. Infotype list screen appears
11) Click on Change(pencil) button
12) Select your Infotype and click on Detail (magnifying glass) button
13) Give T591A as subtype table
14) Give T591S as subtype txt tab
15) Give your subtype field as subtype field
16) Save and come back to PM01 initial screen
17) Click on Infotype Characteristics Infotype list screen appears
18) Click on Change (pencil) button
19) Click on New Entries
20) Enter your Infotype number and short text
21) Here we have to set different Infotype Characteristics as per the requirement. (Better open another session with some standard Infotypes infotype characteristics screen and use as the reference to fill yours)
22) Save your entries.
23) Now the Infotype is created and ready to use.
24) If you want to change the layout of the Infotype as per your requirement
25) In the PM01 initial screenSelect Screen radio button and give 2000 as the screen name, then click on edit.
26) In the next screen.. Select Layout Editor and click Change.
27) Screen default layout appearshere you can design/modify the screen..change the attributes of the fields..etc.
28) Save and activate. (Dont forget to Activate at every level)

Family Members Subtype 2

Dear Experts.
I have the following issue:
When I update or create the subtype 2 in the service of Family Members in the portal ESS, the system replace the register that have the infotype for the employee.
My test is create a new child for the employee, but the system replace the register of the first child. And not created a new register for the new child without replace the register taht exist in the infotype.

Service Family Members

Dear Experts.
I have the following doubt if This is posible:
I want that in the service of Family Members the system show only the last register in the ESS that have the backend for the subtype 1.
In this moment with the following image, the system in the backend have two register in the infotype 0021 for the subtype 1, and the standard service display the two register for edit. I want that the portal only display the last register.

Why two "Define possible family members" config options?

There are two "Define possible familiy members" options when following this path:
IMG > Personnel Management > Personnel Administration > Personal Data > Family > Define possible family members.
I realize that when you click on the second one you're required to choose between the activities of "Infosubtype characteristic IT0021" or "...IT0138", but the IT0021 screen looks exactly the same as the first "Define possible..." link. The IT0138 screen looks slightly different. Can you explain what's going on? Is it better to change one "Define possible family members" link over the other?

(First One) with Object Identification Permited for subtype
Object identification permitted for subtype
Using the indicator all objid (Object identification allowed for subtype)you can control whether the field Object ID (Object identification) can be used for a subtype.
If the indicator all. objid is set, then the Object ID field can be used. In this case you can create data records with the same infotype, subtype, blocking indicator, validity start date and end date. These records are differentiated by their object identification.
If the indicator all. objid is not set, you cannot use the Object ID field.
Example
The indicator is set for the "child" subtype (2) in the Family/ Related Person (0021) infotype. In this case theObject ID relates to the child number. The child number relates to the number of children - in this way, records with different keys are generated.

Multiple iMacs, multiple family members -- so common, yet so hard?

I have a media-loving family of four. We're an Apple family. One shuffle, two touches, two iPhones (coming Friday), three AppleTVs, and two iMacs. We love them all.
I HATE the pain it seems to be to keep my media in synch, however.
It's not so hard keeping my account in synch with the AppleTVs and my Touch. Where I get into trouble is in wanting to allow my family members to leverage MY library as a basis for theirs. Moving and copying music and movies from my library to my daughter's, for example, just seems a lot harder than it should be. As does keeping my library on my upstairs iMac in synch with my downstairs iMac.
I've been unsuccessful in attempts to use iTunes Ranger.
What's the best way to move between accounts on an iMac?
And, is there an easy way to keep two iMac iTunes libraries in synch?
Also -- can anyone point me to some really good documentation that explains the finer points of media storage on a Mac. Everything Apple provides (unless I am missing the secret detailed manual with all of the crazy tips) seems so high level...

Multiple Family Members using a MAC

Hello,
Can someone give me an overview of how family members all use 1 MAC and ICloud so that each person gets their own "stuff"? For example, I would like to get my calendar, my songs, my contacts, my apps synced with my devices--iphone and ipad. And my wife would like her own stuff synced. Seems pretty fundamental but I could not find any info from Apple. Is there a way to do this if each person has a separate Apple ID? What are other people doing?

If each person has a separate Apple ID, as you stated, it should be no problem. However, i'm not sure exactly how you have your computer set up, if you have separate User accounts set up, or if you just use one User account.
You should create a separate User account for each family member. Decide if you want those User accounts to be Administrator accounts, or if they are Standard accounts, and set your Parental Controls as desired. You can also find the Parental Controls settings in the System Preferences as well.
So once each User account is established, you can copy over only the information for them (i.e. contacts, iCal events, iTunes music, etc).
Set up to sync their iOS devices with iTunes with their information on their User accounts, with their own separate Apple IDs, and everything should work smoothly.

What happens on iCloud (ex. contacts) when multiple family members use the same Apple ID?

What happens on iCloud when multiple family members use the same Apple ID? For example if we all choose to use iCloud for contacts, are they all merged together? We use the same Apple ID so we can use find my iPhone to keep track of the whole family.

Of course if you are both connected to the same iCloud account you have the same contacts - what did you expect?. The contacts live on the server and are read from there by the devices; so as you've both managed to sync your contacts up to iCloud they are now inextricably mixed. You can only delete your contacts by deleting individual ones, and doing that will delete them from your phone as well.
You can only unravel this by
1. In the iCloud contacts page at http://icloud.com, select all the contacts, click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose 'Export vCard'.
2. Sign out of System Preferences>iCloud
3. Create a new Apple ID and open a new iCloud account with it for your own use.
4. Import the vCard back into the iCloud contacts page.
5. Go to http://icloud.com and sign in with the original ID. This is now his ID. Work through the contacts individually deleting the ones you don't want him to have. When done sign out and advise him to change his password.
6. Go to the new iCloud account and delete his contacts individually.
Of course if you have also been syncing calendars and using the same email address there are problems with doing this.

How will iCloud work for the case where multiple family members share an iTunes account but each has his/her own iPhone/iPad/PC?
Will iCloud replicate content based on email address, unique Apple ID, iTunes account, or?? If iTunes, we could have trouble as three of us share our iTunes account (started when our daughter was young and continued for simplicity).

Keep one Apple ID for iTunes purchases (apps, music, etc.) for all family members on the iTunes Store and use different Apple IDs for each iCloud user. That worked for me.

Each person needs to have their own separate Apple ID along with their own separate computer user account and iTunes Library.

Can I merge several different Verizon plans (different family members each have own plans) into one plan (i.e. can I take over all their lines), if all lines on all plans are on Edge?

I was originally told by Verizon that if I joined, I can eventually take over the lines of various family members. Now that I've joined, and my family members all upgraded their phones and are on Edge, Verizon is telling us that we can't merge into one plan (because Edge lines can't be transferred to another account).
Is this true, and, if so, what is my recourse since I was lied to.

Well, yes and no (as far as being lied to). I asked on several occasions (I have the chat transcripts to prove it) if there would be any issue if the lines were all already on Edge, and was told each time that under no circumstances would there be any issue. The latest being today (I know it's after the fact, but I wanted proof that this is what the chat people are saying). I asked "I have currently have an account with 3 phones on Edge. My brother and his wife, and my parents, also have plans all on Edge. I would like to 'take over' their lines. I want to make sure there is no issue with the Edge plan and that I can simply 'take over' their lines with no problems." I was told "Yes. That would be correct." Again, this is what I was told in the past as well (my original post didn't make clear the timing of the chats and upgrades to Edge..). Every time I chatted I mentioned that the accounts were going to be on Edge or (later on) were already on Edge. Even before my family members upgraded to Edge, not one single chat or phone representative (and my brother asked the same thing in a store) mentioned NOT to upgrade to Edge because it couldn't be transferred. Everyone just said yep, no problem. The ONLY reason I even joined Verizon (I was on Straight Talk) was because of the More Everything and Edge plans (we wanted a family plan with 6 people and over 10GB so we'd each save $25/line). Otherwise I never would have joined Verizon and my family wouldn't have upgraded either.
