Inherit user profile settings

Hi
I need some help to save couple of time managing profile settings for every user in our Agency. We use 10.6 Server, 10.6 on the clients and the Adobe Design Standard CS5. To use Adobes CS5 in a good way, many settings need to be stored in the users profile (like GREPs, printer joboptions, color profiles, etc.). Seperate from the huge time amount to configure every user on its own, it is more than possible to forget some important preferences. Is there any way to inherit from a adobe well formed user profile?
Thanks for your suggestions and btw. ... sorry for my bad english

this is not a SAPGUI question.

I accidentally clicked on Remove all User Profile Settings, Bookmarks and blahblah when I uninstalled my Aurora and now my Firefox has no bookmark etc. I tried using Recuva as recommended from the other questions but it didn't help me at all. I do not have any backup either.

Will other recovery software help? Because I tried using GetDataBack and I found some files that are not named .sqlite but rather .sqlite-wal or .sqlite-shm. What are those?

  • Date/ TIme in user profile settings

    Hi Abappers,
The date/time format changed in transaction SU01->own data-> defaults, is captured in which table fields???

    Hi,
The date and time format values of a user are stored in USR01 table.
Date format field - USR01-DATFM (Date format)
Time format field - USR01-DCPFM (Decimal notation)
Look the possible values by pressing F4 on the DATFM field.

  • How To Properly Delete a User Profile on Windows 7 in a Domain environment

I have not been able to find an answer that matches the issue I'm facing. I had recently setup a laptop for a user and soon after, he was experiencing issues that I thought might be profile related. So, I did what always worked for me on prior versions of
Windows without any fuss or side affects.
Logged in under the local Administrator account, I went into: System Properties>User Profiles>Settings and removed the user profile from their. When I do that, I get an error message:
    Profile Error
Profile not deleted completely. Error - A required privilege is not held by the client
Ok, no problem I think. I just need to delete the user's profile directory under the users folder right? So I do this and figure when I try to log in again as the user that a new profile will be created. However, this is not what happens exactly. I login
with the user credentials and it logs in successfully. However, I get a pop saying:
You have been logged on with a temporary profile
You cannot access your files and files created in this profile will be deleted when you log off. To fix this, log off and try logging on later.
Please see the event log for details or contact your system administrator
So my question is; why did the profile not delete completely after both deleting the user profile under System Properties and after deleting the actual profile directory? What did I miss and what is the proper method of deleting a user profile completely
without running into these other issues?

    Hi Womprat,
According to your description, I understand that you want to delete user profile but display an error in Windows 7.
Please use other user (with administrator privileges) login this computer, then open Properties for Computer--->Advanced system setting--->Settings for User Profiles, then select the profile you want to delete.

  • It is Possible to Migrate Local User Profile to Roaming Profile Using USMT?

    Dear All,
1st, I'm following guide at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/142682 to copy user profiles to another user, but the problem is the 'Copy to' button is not active (grey). I try
using 3rd party tools, still no change.
2nd, I try to transfer local profile on the same machine and different user using Windows Easy Transfer, it's work and all of data has been restore to a new user. But not all App Settings is restored, when I open Outlook 2010 and Windows
Live Mail, there's need to enter password again. That is not problem for me.
3rd, After migrate/transfer (2nd step) I want to migrate from local profile to roaming profile, but user profile setting on local profile is not copied to roaming profile, such as Email setting need to create new account but all data is
not problem, because I have already configure on ADUC and GPMC.
    My question is:
    1. How to copy or move all Application settings on AppData Local folder to roaming profile?
    2. How about USMT, it is possible to migrate user profile settings from local to roaming? if is the best tools, how to do this?
    Please, advice...
    Thanks,
    Hendra

First, I dont understand why you're using the copy profile method. I'll make the assumption that you have a domain user account that you you need it's files and settings moving to another machine.
In that scenario then there's a simple guide here:
    Migrate User Accounts
For Roaming Profiles and Redirected folders; you can follow the
Infrastructure Planning and Design (IPD) Guide for Windows User State Virtualization (USV).
It sounds like a mouthfull but it actually makes the whole process easy. There's also a video
    here.

  • Using copyprofile to customize the default user profile

Well to get to the problem I'll just explain what I do, which doesn't work.
    1. I install windows 8.1 pro (x64) on a test-pc.
    2. After installation I press cntrl shift f3 to get into audit mode.
    3. I install all software/drivers etc. I also place shortcuts and change the background.
    4. I insert my usb, which contains a file called "unattend.xml" in which this is written:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <unattend xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:unattend">
        <settings pass="specialize">
            <component name="Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup" processorArchitecture="amd64" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
                <CopyProfile>true</CopyProfile>
            </component>
        </settings>
        <cpi:offlineImage cpi:source="wim:e:/usb/windows%207%20en%208/win81pro/sources/install.wim#Windows 8.1 Pro (x64)" xmlns:cpi="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:cpi" />
    </unattend>
    5. After that I use CMD and use this command: C:\windows\system32\sysprep\sysprep /oobe /generalize /shutdown /unattend:F:\unattend.xml
    6. when it is done working and turns off, I turn it back on and walk through the oobe. After that my shortcuts and background are standard windows 8.1 and not the ones I used.
Can anyone see what I did wrong? I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks!
Btw: This unattend.xml file is created with windows system image manager of the same install.wim which is used to install that OS.
Note: If I generalize a pc after an installation, doesn't that cancel the activation? So when I bring it to a customer he needs to fill in the activation key?

    Hi,
After the step 5 (I mean after we customize the default user profile and reference PC sutts down), generally as I know, we should then capture image, you can boot into Windows PE and then capture the Windows installation by using DISM.
See full guide in the link below
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-in/library/hh825135.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
The article also contains some conditions in which user profile settings aren't successfully copied, such as you can not use a domain account, there are no additional user accounts other than the built-in administrator account that you configured,, etc and
sysprep will remove all the security settings of your Windows including windows activation.

  • Windows 7 Themes will not Roam with Roaming User Profiles

    Hi,
If I install a theme pack from the Microsoft Personalization website, it will install on the PC I am currently using. However, if I log onto another PC, the theme will not roam. I mean the wallpaper collection, the sounds, the screensaver, and the window
color. I am using a GPO to delete user profile on logoff, and I am using folder redirection.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
Could you please tell more details about the GPO which was set to delete user profile on logoff? Are we in a domain environment?
Before going further, please run gpresult /v on a command line with the admin rights and then post back the result.
If I understand rightly, the user logged on with a newly created profile every time as there is no user profile settings(deleted every time on logoff) for the user to load.
As the user profile settings is deleted, any changes made are no more available.

  • Need to remove : trasaction OY01 overriding effect of user profile.

    Hi ,
Can anyone please help me for the following scenarios :
I have Grand_Total field which is of type DEC 23,5 in table ZINV.
I want to display this(grand_total) in appropriate decimal format in which the user has logged in based on his userprofile setting.
But there is one problem I am facing...its that my report uses OY01 to do contry settings so the Deimal format of OY01 over-rides user profile settings.
Can anyone help me to display a field using User Profile barring OY01 settings.

    - Strange, why do you use those not-required settings ?
    - Use a [SET COUNTRY cntry. |http://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABAPSET_COUNTRY.htm] with an initial value
When cntry is initial (contains a blank space in the first position), the formatting is set according to the fixed values in the user master record.

  • Account unknown in user profiles

On all our domain controllers (server 2003 R2 and 2008) we have found an "account unknown" listed under My computer-properties advance-user profiles-settings. My
concern is that the Account Unknown profiles shows under all our Domain Controllers in the aforementioned place and it shows that that particular profiles is still being access. By being access I mean that the “Modified” date shows that it was
modified just a few days ago, and it changes a couple of days. Also, the option to delete the account is grayed out and I can not find any orphaned profiles under documents and Settings.
What I need to know is if that profile is being use by some system account, or have the servers been compromised.
Any assistance or clarification of this issue will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi,
A possible cause of the “Account Unknown” profile is that the domain account that the profile is mapped to was deleted but the profile was
not able to be deleted because some applications or services have open handle on the file. That’s also one of the reasons that the option to delete the account is grayed out.
I suggest that you have a look at the subkeys under HKEY_USERS key and check if there is any user has been deleted. The HKEY_USERS key lists all profiles
that are currently loaded on the computer. The PsGetSid utility (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897417.aspx) can help you translate SIDs to their display name.
Meanwhile, you’d better perform a full virus scan to ensure that the computer is not infected by virus.

  • User Profile number mismatch between two identical farms

I've created a secondary High Availability farm with, I believe, all of the same User Profile settings as the primary farm.
    The primary shows:
    Number of User Profiles 3,428
    Secondary:
    Number of User Profiles 3,363
Any recommendations on how to compare these results in a way that will establish why there is a discrepancy?
    Thanks,
    Scott

How long has the primary farm been running? My first thought is you may have some orphaned (old) profiles from users who no longer have accounts and maybe haven't been completed cleaned up.
Another thought: Are you syncing the same OUs in both farms?
Do you have multiple authentication stores (Active Directory and a custom FBA provider for example)?

  • Colors inverse(negative) on one user profile

I have an iMac that is on 10.5 with all updates applied and have used VNC to remote control it for some time without issue. Yesterday after one session, I went to the computer and the video on that screen is inverted for everything! The remote session using either screen sharing or chicken of the vnc looks fine. If I log into the iMac using a different user account, it looks fine and the login screen is fine, but as soon as the user profile settings are loaded, the colors go reverse, black is white, etc. I've looked into the color settings and screen settings and it looks fine, so I can only assume that there is a profile file that isn't being ready correctly. I do have a time machine backup and can grab whatever file or directories might be needed, but wasn't sure where to look. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

Thanks heaps for the suggestion. Being a tech support person myself, I figured it was something simple and that did the trick. Also, thanks for the quick response to the question. Have a great rest of your weekend!

  • High Availability, User Profiles, and UPRE

I'm setting up High Availability using Metalogix Replicator to mirror the Content DBs. There's a Primary (current production SP2010 environment) and a Secondary environment. Both consist of a WFE, SQL, and APP server.
User Profiles are set up on both. I created the Secondary environments by copying Profile, Social, and Synch DBs from the Primary SQL server, and creating the UP using the same DB names.
Since then, we have created new Audiences and new User Profile settings.
    So the two choices are:
    1. Manually update both environments.
    2. Use UPRE to keep them synchronized. I've looked over
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc663011(v=office.14).aspx and it seems like a good solution.
I'm not sure whether to use synchronous or asynchronous. I was also wondering if anyone has experience with setting this up, and if there's any chance that I'll mess up my current Primary User Profile service/synch by using UPRE.
Has anyone been down this road? Is this what I'm looking for?
    Thanks,
    Scott

    > I'm setting up High Availability using Metalogix Replicator to mirror the Content DBs
Wouldn't recommend it. It makes schema changes to the databases and is completely unsupported by Microsoft.
    UPRE would be appropriate.

  • Terminal Server User Profile - Delete Permissions

One frequent problem our help desk encounters is corrupted user profiles on the terminal servers.  Today those tickets are escalated to the server team to have the local user and roaming profiles deleted.  That team wishes to have this task moved
to the desktop / help desk.
I've built a script to perform this action, but desktop and help desk AD groups do not have sufficient rights on these servers to delete the user profiles.  NTFS permission changes will allow them the ability to delete the roaming profiles, but I don't
beleive this would be sufficient to delete the local profiles from the terminal servers (properly).
The script command I'm using to delete the local profiles is:
    takeown /f $LPath.FullName /r /d y
I attempted using a service account to run the command within the script but I couldn't find a secure way to nest the password.  Can someone point me to the correct permissions needed for a regular user to properly delete a remote user profile?
    Thanks!
    There's no place like 127.0.0.1

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
What kind of permission is assigned to your help desk users?
Firstly please check that your help desk users can delete the profile via “System Properties--Advanced tab--User Profiles--Settings button”. By deleting user profiles will delete the corresponding registry entries in addition to the folder under C:\Users
Apart still if you want to check the registry setting, we can verify and delete under below mention path.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
Here need to find the respective SID for the users and the delete that SID and then again ask users to log back in which will create a new user profile.
Else your help desk user can get the permission for running below script through which they can delete the user profile.
    Remove RDS Profiles

  • Output type settings; print pdf from on the printer defined in user profile

    Hi
I have a requirement where i should print the pdf form in the printer defined in user profile when i select save in MB1A transaction;  I know this can be done by changing the output type cofiguratioin in the NACE transaction
Could any one please let me know step by step process on how to make changes in the nace transaction to print the form in the printer defined in user profile
Right now we are using a custom output type i tried changing the print parameter to 'S'   and followed the sap documentation
in the sap help doc at last it says to check the table TNADR for the entries
but when i saw the table TNADR i couldnt find any entries related to ME application
It would be great if any one can explain in details regarding the changes in output type configuration , TNADR table and related stuff
    thanks

    Hi,
Just maintain the condition records in NACE transaction.
    Just follow the steps...
    1.Goto NACE transaction
2.Select the application for example for sales order 'V1' and then click on 'Condidtion Record' button
3.Double click on your Zoutput type.
4.U will may get radio button dialogbox/key combination.select anyone and click on ok button
    5.U can see a selection screen..Fill all the filed/fileds.
    6.Click on F8
7.A tabular control appers..fill it. select the mediem as 1(print output).U can see a  'communication' button over there..click on it.
8.Maintain ur own printer settings and click on SAVE button..
Actuallly Condition records contain the actual data against which the business rules are checked to propose an output. Using condition records, we can define Output types, transmission medium for the document type. So that we need not to give all the output parameters every time the document is to be printed. We use the condition records for automatic printing of Invoices when we save it.
It maintains a key combination to process the output automatically whenever a system finds the entry/entries with that key combination. We maintain the values in the condition records only.
    Hope it is useful...

  • Win7 and Reader X - default settings for ALL users/profiles

I have a custom browser/app that opens PDF's within the app which can sometimes cause issues. I found that if I set Reader X to not open in the browser (Edit>Preferences>Internet - uncheck "Display PDF in Browser") that this does resolve most issues. My problem...when changed this only affects the current user/profile that's logged in. Potentially there can be dozens of users on these laptops. The other setting is when opening a PDF, I get the warning about Protected Mode not being able to be used due to the current configuration. I can select "Always open with Protected Mode disabled" and I no longer get the message; but again, current user/profile only.
Is there a way to set these settings for ALL users/profiles? Running Win7 (32bit) with Reader X.

I do not know why you experience this; what exactly happens when a non-admin users attempts to highlight something?
You are talking about highlighting in the same document?
