Loading Historical data to the new field without deleting the data in cube

Dear BI Experts,
I have enhanced a new field to the Generic data source in BI 7.0 .
I need to load historical data to the newly appended field.
As we are having very huge data it is not possible to delete and do init again.
Is there any other possibility to load the historical data for the new appeneded field without deleting the old requests?

I do not know about Remodelling conept but heard that it is not recommeneded to use.

Hello All,
We need to add a new field 0VENDOR to our datasource 0FI_GL_4. This field is available in our BSEG table. Hence, we are planning to go ahead with datasource enhancement.
Now, please advice on how to update the historical data to this newly added field.I have heard there is a BW functionality/program to do so without deleting the entire data. Kindly advice on the possible solutions.

HI Sneha,
Using remodeling option you will be able to do that, ie.. loading historical data for new attributes without deleting existing data. But the problem is in remodeling either you can assign constant or some other attribute value or values determined using EXIT.
Now when you are loading data from source system and if you need historical data as well the best practise is delete existing data and reload it from source sytsem.
But if you don't want to do that then I can give you one trick but not sure whether it will work or not. The idea is to populate the historical values for 0Vendor using customer exit option of remodeling. Now to get the historical values in customer exit you will need all that data in some BW table, here you can think of creating some generic extractor which will store the values of all the documents and the respective vendor, as you will load data form source system you will get historical values as well.
Now read that table in customer exit and populate vendor value. This will be one time process to populate the historical values.

Missing some master data for delta load( its very urgent please)

I am working master data for delta load,the problem is when ever changes(SO) in r/3 RECORDS for address text,City Dstrct Nm.its not getting loaded into BW.every day some delta records are coming into BW.
the data coming thru bw satging and bw.Please help what would be reson and where can i find the detail info,where is it missing.Please see below for example.

Facebook images, profile photos, cover photos are not loading. Only small blue square with question mark. Same thing in Safari, FireFox, Chrome.

Since July on MacBook Pro facebook images, profile photos, cover photos are not loading. Only small blue square with question mark. Same thing in Safari, FireFox, Chrome. Everything is up to date including last version of Adobe Flash. And watching YouTube also a problem. Video is skipping, freezing for few seconds and jumps forward. At the same time on Toshiba with Windows Vista under the same account, same wi-fi connection everything works fine.
Please help with sugesstions to fix the issue.

Seems like problem is solved but it might be temporarily. Anyway. Click on the image, it will open facebook photo browser. Image is not loading so right click on the blue box with question mark, save image as. It will start downloading but without any success since browser do not see the image. After this attempt refresh the page and close all tabs with facebook. Try to open facebook once again. For some reason after this weird actions all images displayed properly. Do not know for how long but now it works.

why we load Master data first before loading Transaction data, specify any reasons for that ? Is it mandatory to load MD first ?

The bottom line for building cubes it to view facts against dimensions. When i say facts these are the key-figures i.e sales volume, Sales vat etc against some characteristics like sales Area, Cost center , plant.
Basically charateristics are those against which key-figures are measures like Costcenter, plant, material etc.
Dimensions are a grouping of related characteristic. So basically a cube has a central fact table with dimesions associated to it in a relational schema. Imagine now you want to view a key figure Sales Volume against a dimension plant. when you consider plant , it has a distribution channel, purchasing organisation , company code, sales area, region etc associated with it. So which form the attributes of plant and also have some or the other description (texts) and aslo hierarchy. first we load the master data and then the transaction data follows.

Hi,
BX is a one time load used for initializing the stocks and BF and UM are run regularly as deltas. The marker updates are very important so as to give the correct stock values.

Loading historical data with 0CO_PC_ACT_02

Hello,
    I need to load historical values with infosource 0CO_PC_ACT_02. I can load the current period, but get no data from R/3 for historical periods. When I run RSA3 on R/3 for a historical period, I get no data, so I don't believe that this is a BW Issue.
    My question:
   1. Is there a job or something on R/3 I need to run to enable this data source to pull historical data? If so, what is it and how do I run it?
   2. Is this data source simply not able to pull historical data?

Change load full data to Delta

Hi!!
In the past, we load Full data for a customized DataSourece. Now I changed the DataSource to load delta datas.
This data source was connected a ODS and when I tried to initialize delta process I received the error message. "Full updates already available in ODS 0SAL_DS01 ; Cannot update init./delta".
Someone know, How can I Initialize Delta Process?

ODS does'nt support Full upload and delta upload parallely..........suppose a ODS is getting loaded with delta upload...........then if u do a full upload.........then ODS activation will with this error...........then u have to convert full upload to full repair...........
Go to SE38 >> Program : RSSM_SET_REPAIR_FULL_FLAG...................this program also exists in 3.5.............check it properly............
Check SAP note 689964 ........

Historical data from ACE20 load balancer modules

I am trying to get some historical data from our ACE20 load balancer modules which are housed in a 6504, but cannot seem to find where to get this information from. I would like to get information such as memory used, CPU active connections, throughput, http requests etc over the past month, is there any way that I can do this? I am using ANM 2.0

Below are teh steps to load from DB connect.
Just go to Rsa1->modeling->source system->double click on the source system. On right habd side side right click on the topmost node.now it will take u to a screen, there u can give the table name (if u know) or just execute. it will display all the tables u have in Oracle. there double click on th eselected table and select the fields requared and now generate data source. now come back to RSA1->source system-> replicate the data source. now assign infosouce as usual.And create infopackage and start the load.
And this doesn't support delta process.

You need to have Oracle Apps Implemented to implement DBI.
But the latest versions of DBI has the flexibility to get data from other sources and create DBI dashboards with the old data.

Data Mart load does not support Delta load?

For data mart load, we create an InfoPackage for Delta load, under data selection tab, for the InfoObj. 0FISCPER, we pick OLAP variable 0FPER [Current Fiscal Year/Period (SAP Exit)], save this InfoPackage, but when get in again, find under Data Selection tab, on the row 0FISCPER, the From Value column becomes 001/2005 and To Value column becomes 011/2005 and the whole Data Selection tab screen becomes non-editable!
The correct behavior should be that after saving the InfoPackage on this row 0FISCPER, From Value/To Value columns are blank and just the Type column value is 7 and after saving the infopackage and get back in, the Data Selection tab screen is editable.
But if we select Full update mode, then switch back to the Data Selection tab, then the behavior is right.
We wonder if SAP doesn't support Delta load for Data Mart load, why under the Update tab, the Delta load radio button shows up after we conducted an initial load? It doesn't make any sense for SAP!

as alredy suggested, you cannot do different selection criteria on your delta, since you automatically have to load on the basis of initial selection...and, if you think about it, this is logic: you cannot initialize a flow for certain conditions and then decide to upload in delta other (different) records...

clearly, if you perform a full (like a 'repair' full, from a functional point of view), this problem doesn't exist (data is taken from active table and not from change log one!)

Why can't see enhanced data by delta loading

Hi Pros,
I have done enhancement in 0CA_TS_IS_1, which constantly retrieve information and append them into data package, then I tested it in RSA3, successfully. also I load data from this 0CA_TS_IS_1 by full loading, it successes. but when I load data using existing delta load infopackage, there is no expected data loaded. ( ie. there is no enhanced data appended).

Put a debug breakpoint in your code, and then run RSA3 again in Update Mode delta (D).
Check if the debugger goes into your breakpoint - it should.
If it doesn't , it may be your user exit is not activated correctly, or there is some clause in your code (check for IF-ELSEIFs) that bypasses the customer exit only during delta loads.
I hope you did the user exit correctly, because these things normally do not happen at all when implemented correctly. There are a 101 different things that could've gone wrong when these things happen. My advice is to check and re-check your user exit code in the program ZXRSAU01 to make sure everything is setup correctly.

Loading historical data from excel

Hi GURU..In the best practice i have read it's written that a sample excel file.csv exists. Where can i find it? i dont have a cd with the best practices but i've seen them in a file.doc..thx

Have you created spatial index for table PORVSINA? I guess that yes, and you have created it with non NULL SRID value? So, ORA-13365 means that you are trying to insert spatial data with SRID that is not the same as SRID defined in spatial index.
Check index SRID and your data SRID, they must be the same. Or, you can disable spatial index.
