Initial bootup display interface

Been looking for the answer for this for awhile. The initial bootup of archlinux it eventually changes display to a more clear terminal display with finer font etc I forgot what this is called and how it is configured. My other linux box has it setup by default believe based on ati drivers, however my new box its not setup that way. I hope this helps on what I'm looking for.

  • Miix2 10 and wireless display interface

My Miix2 10 stopped supporing the Wireless Display Interface.  I have been using it along with a Netgear receiver just fine as recently as a few weeks ago but now it will not connect.  I tested the Netgear receiver with an older laptop that also supports WiDi and it works just fine.  I tried updating the WiDi driver using the Intel driver support application but it starts and then says it does not support my graphics adapter.  This is odd as it has been working for months until now.  What can I do to get this working again?

    Is it listed in:
    http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/data/sol/components/views/keyboard_mouse_all_results.page1.html ?
I'ld guess that if its fix in a very recent release of OpenSolaris it might still take a while before its putback to the latest Solaris 10, but thats my guess.

  • Motion 3, DVD Studio Pro 3, Compressor...fail to display interface

Macbook Pro C2D, Leopard OS X 10.5.1. All apps were running perfectly before this happened...
First, all the apps of Final Cut Studio 2 crashed on startup.
I recall that the last thing I did is trashing the newly installed trail version Aperture.
After checking the crashing log, I found the problem comes from Prokit.framework. I did a thorough search, the answer is quite clear that the Prokit.framework comes with Aperture 1.5.2 is a PPC version, it replaced the intel version that was in my OS. So the solution is replacing the PPC version back to Prokit for Intel. Finally I found some provided download links of Prokit for Intel. BUT..
All the Prokit online are extracted with Pacifist from either Tiger OS disc or ProAppRuntime4.0.2.pkg(from apple's website). So they are either version 3.1 or version 4.0.2. After replacing my Prokit.framework with version 4.0.2, all my FCS 2 apps except Final Cut Pro (but Log and Transfer inside FCP 6) stopped crashing but failed to display any interface. But the icons are in the dock.
So finally I cleaned up all the files related to Final Cut Studio 2 and Prokit.framework and did a fresh reinstallation of FCS 2.
Same thing! No interface at all.
At this point, I doubt if the Prokit.framework in Leopard OS disc is different. It's too bad that I'm traveling for a project and my Leopard DVD is not in hand. So I asked a friend using Pacifist to extract Prokit.framework and Browser.framework from his Leopard DVD and sent them over. Now I found that they are indeed different. The one from Leopard is version 4.1. I did a replace again. Now, Motion 3, DVD Studio Pro 3 and Compressor start up, but with black windows and a few images, and the menu bars are really weird. I guess I should install this two framework with Pacifist instead of replacing them with the extracted folders?
The last resort I guess is to reinstall Leopard? My dilemma if I don't finish my project, I have no access to my OS DVD, but I need to use FCS 2 to finish the project.
Has anyone run into the same situation? Any enlightenment will be appreciated!

I have just installed Leopard ans having problems with DDVDSPRO crasshing, can you please expand on how i may install prokit.framework and Browerkit frame work with Pacifist. I am not an expert please bear in mind!!
    many thanks

Is it possible that you have an extra space AFTER the middle initial? That
said, I've seen instances where extra spaces in general in the given name field
    can cause auto-completion issues.

  • Bug affichage display interface

    Bonjour,
    http://helpx.adobe.com/fr/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-unexpected-behavior-user-account -2.html

    thanks for the reply.
    I already did that,
The interface of InDesign has a problem with custom screen dpi settings for Windows 7. Do you have a custom percentage setting? If so, try with this reset at the default of 100%.
It is working with 100% - 125% but the bug is effective with 150%
I did explain this soluce in my own mail but in french :

it is a temporary soluce, but this is not a good soluce, because if i had set my display like that, I have a good reason, otherwise the interface is realy very small.
I hope there will have soon an update to fix this.

  • WLAN Controller Displays Interface IP in Web Authentication URL Instead of FQDN

    Hi,
Can someone offer any help with the issue below please?
I have a guest wlan configured on a Cisco 2106 WLAN controller. Guest users are redirected to a Web Authenticaion page when they try to access the internet through a web browser, and can only proceed by succesfully authenticating with the controller.
The problem I have is that the guest users are presented with an SSL certficate error before they hit the web authentication page. I have installed an SSL certificate from Verisign on the controller, and have configured an FQDN for the interface that is used for the guest wlan. However, the certificate error still persists because when the user is re-redirected to the web auth page, the URL in the address bar is presented as the IP address of the interface instead of the FQDN, For example, when a user is redirected, the address bar in their web browser displays; https://1.1.1.5/ instead of https://guestwifi.domain.com/ The SSL certificate that is installed on the controller is securing the FQDN of the interface.
I'm not sure if i'm missing something here, but i'm struggling to find how to get the FQDN to display instead of the IP.
    Thanks,
    Paul

I'm not following what you mean when you sayd "FQDN for the interface that is used for the guest wlan"......
I assume you configured the Virtual Interface  to have the dns entry as guestwifi.domain.com but clients are still being redirected to the virtual IP itself and not the dns name?
The only reason I can think of for that happening was if the WLC had not been rebooted since applying the DNS name to the Virtual Interface (it takes a reboot to modify client redirect stuff, the same goes for http vs https).
so guestwifi.domain.com should have a DNS entry resolving to 1.1.1.5, that entry should be on your virtual interface, and upon reboot you should always redirect to guestwifi.domain.com unless you manually type https://1.1.1.5 in the browser.

  • RoboHelp 9 - Initial published display

I'm pretty new to RoboHelp used it many years ago, When I publish as FlashHelp and click View Result the item displayed is the 3rd item down in my TOC instead of the first item. How do I publish and have the first topic display?

    Hi there
You need to configure the default topic.
In your Single Source Layout recipe properties, expand Content Categories and click the category you have there. Then click the Select button to browse to and choose the default topic.

  • New iPad with IOS 6 goes back to sleep during initial bootup.

My new iPad3 after IOS6 upgrade seems to have following issues.  I turn on unit with sleep switch. Apple Logo comes up for about 15-20 seconds. Blue "wavey" screen with time at top and "slide to unlock" on bottom appears. "Slide to Unlock" is "frozen" with NO moving "light behind it" and cannot open apps.  After about 5 seconds screen goes black. If I tap "home" button, iPad wakes up and blue "wavey" screen is normal with "slide to unlock" with moving lights. And swiping now unlocks and apps appear and all is well.
This started with upgrade to IOS6.  I have reset all settings multiple times with no sucess. I did the complete reset to erase all Content and Setttings.   I have done the complete restore thru iTunes and still no success.  I called Apple Support, unfortunately, I don't have Apple Care (ipad is 3.5 months old) and the rep did not really understand problem and after talking with her supervisor said to go to Apple Store for help. Problem....... Apple Store is a three hour drive from here!  I explained to her the problem step by step and she still did not grasp the idea.
I also have a Marware brand case and thought maybe the "sleep" magnet for sleep was causing this, took ipad out of case but still goes to sleep on initial boot up. Any ideas before I make the three hour each way drive?
    Rob

Oh, I also did several times the Reset with holding the "sleep-wake" button and the "home" button for the 10-15 seconds for the Apple logo to appear.  This also did not clear problem.

  • How to flush JSP content from a portal class for initial content display?

    Hello,
I have a JSP that is loaded from the JSR-168 portlet class. The JSP is used for doing a database search. As results come back, I want to flush the JspWriter ("out" variable) buffer so that partial results are displayed to the user as they come back.
The flushing of the content does not occur in this JSP. If, however, I launch a JSP page directly (not through the portlet class)in its own browser window, and the same code is run, the flushing occurs and I can get results displayed as they are returned.
There is something different in the JSP version that is loaded from the portlet class that is preventing the flushing from occurring.
This just may be an issue where the portal engine waits to display all content (to include my portlet) all at once.
Any thoughts? Is there another way to do this?
    Thanks - Peter

    From http://www.htmlhelp.com/reference/html40/forms/input.html:
A form that includes a file INPUT must specify METHOD=post and ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" in the <FORM> tag. CGI libraries such as CGI.pm allow simple handling of such forms.
Form-based file upload is unsupported by many currently deployed browsers. Authors should provide alternative methods of input where possible.
The following example allows the user to upload an HTML document for validation:
    <FORM METHOD=post ACTION="/cgi-bin/validate.cgi" ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data">
<P>Select an HTML document to upload and validate. If your browser does not support form-based file upload, use one of our alternate methods of validation.</P>
    <P><INPUT TYPE=file NAME="html_file" ACCEPT="text/html"></P>
    <P><INPUT TYPE=submit VALUE="Validate it!"></P>
    </FORM>
Your servlet would then have to process whatever data is put into that parameter. You can look at O'Reilly's servlet utilities, or one of the other other links here:

  • Display Port DVI HDMI no longer interfaces my TV with 10.7 lion.

I have used successfully used my LG 720p tv with a Apple branded Display port --> GE branded Dvi adapter followed by a dvi --> HDMI adapter directly into my TV.
Upon upgrading to Lion (10.7) two days ago I discoverd that my MacBook Pro no longer recongizes the connection. Both the Mac and TV initially try to interface (Macbook bluescreens, TV says connecting) I've checked all the connections and nothing seems to be broken.
I have also tried my other Display port --> VGA adapter and this also unsuccessfully links...
Has anyone expierenced other issues with display port functionality after the upgrade to Lion?

  • Problem hanging on DLED "Initializing Video Interface"

I've tried two different AGP video cards.  One an ATI  9800 PRO 256mb which is new.  The other an nVidia based card which is known to work.  On either, the system stops booting displaying the 3 reds 1 green that indicate it was initializing the video interface.
This is a new K8N Neo2 Platinum.  I've re-seated the cards, double checked power, etc., still no go.
Anybody have problems during this part of the boot up?

No joy.  Tried re-seating it in slot 1, no change.  Moved it to the other green slot, 3, no change.  I did put the 9800 Pro in another box to test it, and it worked fine, as well as a different monitor/cable (which both work on the other box).  None of it made a difference.  I've unplugged pretty much everything from the mobo except for power & switches, and that hasn't changed anything.   Think it's possible the mobo is DOA?

  • How to fill the "budget" in an initiative in SEM BSC

    Good Afternoon for all!
We have a Balanced Scorecard implemented in SAP SEM BSC, using SAP BW.
Our Balanced Scorecard actually manages ratios, objectives, perspectives, strategy and scorecard.
Now, we are trying to use "iniatiatives" and we have using the SEM BSC wizard, through the web interface.
When defining the initiative everything goes ok, we define the initiative , and then we assign it to an objective.
We have also installed the infocube "0SEM_C02" which we have the understanding that it stores the information concerned to initiatives.
I have also build a SEM BPS layout and planning area for this infocube (0SEM_C02) in order to fill the infocube with information (manually entered).
But after all these, the information does not appear for the "budget" when displaying the Balanced scorecard.
When displaying an initiative it displays:
    -Definition
    -Duration
    -Priority
    -Status and score
    -Milestones
    -Team members
    -Objectives
    -Budget (<-----E M P T Y !! )
I do not understand, how to fill the "Budget" data for an initiative. Because we have fill all the information regarded to the initiative included above, but the budget is very important for us, and as i said before, we have installed the infocube 0SEM_C02, we also created a planning area for this infocube in BPS, we have created a planning layout for this infocube, and we have entered some values to this infocube.
Is there any special condition or something special to do, in order to fill the budget for an initiative in SAP SEM BSC??
How can we see in the BSC the budget for an initiative, or fill the value???
We will appreciate any help for this issue.
Thanks in advance for your valuable help.

  • NEWBIE: G5 not displaying on my LCD PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi, just joined the forums. I am completely new to Macs other than playing around with a few vintage systems. I did have a G4 MDD briefly but did not keep long enough to actually do anything with. I just bought a Power Mac G5 dual 2.0 with (I think) 1.5 gigs of ram. The guy I bought it from showed me that it worked by displaying it though an S-Video adapter he had onto his TV but he did not have a monitor. I figured that was good enough. I took it home and tried to hook it up to a spare Dell 1908FPT monitor I had lying around. It shows the initial bootup screen but eventually goes to a blank background. I can move the mouse around but there are no icons and I cannot do anything. I've managed to get it to boot to the install media (figured what the heck clean install). It seems to go though the install but eventually gives me a blank background same as before. A couple times while trying to boot it will go black and the fans get louder and louder...

Yeah, that's what I thought. Or didn't think of.
Monitors don't need drivers, the computer or video card does.
Could it be a problem with the adapter? Wouldn't think so.
What kind of video card do you have? Probably a Radeon or Nvidea. And it has an s-video port... I don't recall having one on the Dual 2.0 that I had, but that probably doesn't mean much.
You don't have that cable do you? I'd say you could try using your tv for a monitor to see what happens if you did.
Darn, there were over a thousand support pages on that monitor or ones like it. Maybe buried in there is some kind of answer. And yet I think we're missing something simple...
I'm very sorry to hear about your job. You don't need added grief at a time like this.

  • SATA Drive Won't Initiate Normal Bootup

I have a 250 GB ATA internal drive set up to use as my OS X bootup drive, made up of five partitions (one being the bootup volume of 40 GB; identified as 'XBoot'). I recently installed a 300 GB SATA drive (Maxtor 6V300F0) in place of another previously used ATA drive, using an OWC SATAPCI2P PCI card (which is spec'ed as supporting bootup), and the SATA drive has run fine.
I have decided to use a partition on the SATA drive (volume of around 45 GB) to clone a copy of my 'XBoot' bootup volume to, using SuperDuper!. I had done this same bootup drive cloning function onto one of my other ATA drives, and found it to work great for troubleshooting, tryouts of products and general backup; bootups of the ATA clone functioned perfectly.
I set up partitions on the SATA drive (set up in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format), zeroed-out its 'bootup' volume (identified as 'SXBoot'), and copied my 'XBoot' bootup volume to 'SXBoot'. On completion of the cloning I attempted to start up from 'SXBoot' (using System Preferences:Startup Disk to select it); startup ran only to the point of a grey screen displaying the Apple logo and spinning 'beachball', and then to lockup of that screen with a couple of herringbone patterns running through it. I had to power down and back up to get running, and found the system came back to startup via 'XBoot'. I repeated this sequence a few more times, with the same result.
At this point I considered 1) there might be a problem due to SuperDuper!, 2) a problem due to the OWC card, or 3) a problem with the Maxtor SATA drive.
I then erased volume 'SXBoot', and made a direct install of OS X 10.4 to it via DVD in an attempt to check for a problem with SuperDuper!'s cloning. I then restarted my system via System Preferences:Startup Disk, with 'SXBoot' selected. The same problem reappeared. Additional runs in this manner repeated this result. Conclusion: SuperDuper! is not causing the problem.
I then decided to start up using Startup Manager (holding the Option key down during startup) to see if I could select 'SXBoot' successfully via that path. In about 15 seconds an 'XBoot' icon showed up on the Startup Manager screen; after approximately 7 or 8 seconds an 'SXBoot' icon showed up as well. I clicked on the 'SXBoot' icon and then on the screen's arrow; startup went forward, coming up with 'SXBoot' as the boot drive, as desired! This gave further confirmation that SuperDuper! was not at fault, since I had a good bootup.
I then selected 'SXBoot' as the startup volume via System Preferences: Startup Disk, and initiated a restart. This led to bootup via 'XBoot'... lost the Startup Disk setup of 'SXBoot'. Repeated the sequence of starting up using Startup Manager a few more times, with the same results: an initial bootup via 'SXBoot', followed by a restart and a return to bootup via 'XBoot' instead of 'SXBoot'.
This point of success (an initial startup via 'SXBoot' via Startup Manager) leads me to conclude that the basic bootup function of the OWC card is not the source of the problem, but.......
After searching through forums and other literature, I found a few references/suggestions which led me to consider that perhaps the OS X startup sequence is making a choice of startup volume before all drives (specifically, the SATA drive) have come up to speed to where they may be recognized in time (reference the 7 to 8 seconds noted above between 'XBoot' and 'SXBoot' appearances in the Startup Manager window). Or, there may still be something in the operation of the OWC card that doesn't like the configuration of several bootable drives.
I'm hoping somebody may have seen a solution for this type of problem, with experience in using the OWC card.
Relative to my thoughts above on timing issues, does anyone know of a way to get to the system level and extend the timing before selection of a bootup drive is made?
    Thanks
    PowerMac G4 FW800 1.25 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   2 GB RAM, 4 Int HDs (ATA & SATA)

    Vernon,
What I'm attempting to do isn't really all that wierd. I did it with 'straight' ATA drives, with the bootable backup providing me a means to try out new software without disturbing the state of my normal bootable drive, and such. Also gives me the means to boot up via the backup if something has gone wrong with the 'normal' boot drive. Lots of other things.
My problem is that the SATA configuration of OWC PCI card and Maxtor SATA drive(s) won't boot up normally via selection of my SXBoot volume via System Preference's Startup Disk. Only way I can get bootup of SXBoot is via the manual use of Startup Manager (the Option key held while starting or restarting) and picking SXBoot via that route.
The SATA drive/volumes work fine, just not for bootup.
I have erased the SATA drive several times now, both before cloning, via SuperDuper!, and before a clean install of OS X.
    Therein lies the problem.
The OWC card supports the 1.5 Gig configuration, and the Maxtor does have a jumper to select that mode of operation/support. Otherwise, there are no other settings on the Maxtor.
Appreciate your taking the time to respond.
What is it that you're not happy about with your SATA configuration?
