Initial request and reconfig question

Hi there,
Why does the web server issues requests to itself when it startup or reconfig is invoked?
For the two initial request, if the NameTrans function from a plugin returns error, the error function(s) are not invoked.
Also can a plugin register for notification of the reconfig. i.e., can the plugin know the the reconfig happened?

From what I can see it looks like Spring is on the roadmap and since BEA is now in the game they will incorporate Pageflows, Controls (Beehive), Open Standard Portal Engineering, SOA stuff, and more ease of use. ;->.
Hopefully M7 remains true to the Anti-Vendor-Lockin pattern. It takes courage for BEA to go this way, but customers and the engineering scene will applaud to this, and I guess that this will put BEA in a good light, and those who wish to get nice and easy to manage and professional infrastructure, they will also pay for that (to make a living for M7 and BEA staff). Like I was ready to pay from NitroX Studio. I bought it, because it had this "no vendor lock in tag" on it and it was much easier to code with than with other products.
On the other side the Open Source and the ISV scene can build applications that can run on the Service Oriented Operating System, and on any App and Portal Server. And this becomes easy.
Everybody will win from this.

If you're refering to your uphone number thats set up to be used with imessage on your ipad, then that is associated with your apple id and has to be changed there first.

Delete initial request

Hi,
I did a intial request for 0EC_PCA_3, becasue the data is huge with more that 10000000, I decide to do some separate full uploads and do a new initail updata.
After I deleted this initial request and also delete all the data of cube.
But after I check the requests list in the cube, the original initial request appreared again with data loading.
Is there anyone know how I can stop this data loading?

Hi Jonathan ,
It is strange that the request is again appearing in the target . To confirm that , please check if any one is trying to push that request from PSA . If so then check for any job BI_BOOK* or BI_BTCH* in SM37 . If any job is progressing check which request it is trying to push .
If it is trying to push your request we can cancel that job and delete the cube contents again

I get a question mark next to email addresses when I try to send a meeting request and it fails

Outlook 2010, standard Win 7 setup.
I am trying to send a meeting request and when I bring up the address book to insert email addresses it seems to insert the address but it has a gray question mark next to it. Sending then fails. Even an email address manually typed in gets the question
mark.
Odd thing is that from a regular email I can insert the same address from the same contact list and it works fine.
Why does it fail in meeting invites by not in email?

When sending the meeting request fails, do you see any error message?
If you are an Exchange account user, try to send a request to the people in your organization, I suppose it works.

One of our Trading Partner wishes to implement the 753 Routing Request and 754 Routing Instructions. Can anyone give me best practice answer the following Questions? We are on SAP ECC6 R3
What Application? i.e. V2, V7?
What output condition to use? i..e. LALE, LAT2, SEDI????
What Message type? i.e SHPADV?
What Basic Idoc Type? i.e SHPMNT05?
What Message Code? i.e. SHPM?
What Process Code? i.e. SHPM??
What Function Module? i.e. IDOC_OUTPUT_SHPMNT??
Does the SAP Transpotation Module have to be configured for this to be implemented?

The output application for the 753 Routing Request is "V7"
The output type is "SEDI"
Transmission medium is "6"
The Basic Idoc type is "Shipmnt05"
when setting up your Partner Profile (WE20) add:Message Partner Role "SP" with Message type "SHPADV', Message coed "753", Basic Type "SHPMNT05", Message Control add Application "V7", Message type "SEDI", Process Code "SHPM".

I have not configured the Inbound 754. For now the inbound 754 Routing Instructions will be emailed to our traffic department.

Prepayment request and final invoice

Can anyone help with a question about posting payments to a prepayment request and then reconciling the final invoice. We create a sales order and then a prepayment request for 100% of the sales order. The customer then pays for the goods. We put in the payment under the incoming payment screen against the prepayment invoice. This then closes the prepayment request.
We then ship the goods to the customer creating a delivery note from the sales order. Then we create a final invoice for the customer. All OK so far I think. Then the help page tells me to go again to the incoming payment screen, select the business partner and then select the prepayment invoice and the final invoice and all will be OK. BUT we cannot add the incoming payment because we get a message " Confirmation amount must be > zero".
What are we doing wrong. We have tried to do a standard reconciliation in the banking module, but this leaves a double posting amount in the VAT account.

By Pre Payment I believe you are referring to Down Payment Invoice. After you have processed an Incoming Payment for the Downpayment invoice there is no need to go to the Incoming Payment again to reconcile the downpayment.

Hi and thanks to everyone in advance for your responses.
I have spent some time searching the message board concerning my situation, which I will explain in a minute, but first I wanted to let everyone know that I have tried to do some research, but I am interested in the way in which these problems apply to my situation, and if anyone has suggestions or fixes. (Whew! quite a runon)
I spent a significant amount of time (~ 2 years) saving for a MP3 player, and after much debate decided that the most important feature was the ability to bookmark audio books. I have a 30 minute dri've to work, and have access to large amount of audio books and lectures in my profession. I therefore like to listen, depending on my mood to ) my music, 2) one of my audio books, or 3) one of the many audio lectures I have in my collection. Some times I may go for a week and stay with one thing, or I may switch things around and listen to one thing in the morning and a different thing in the evening. Since most of my time I am in my car when I listen, I had considered buying a MP3 capable CD player only, but Creative assured me that their product would meet all of my needs, and be portable.
The first part of my experience was just a promised. It was summer and I was also in the yard a lot, so I used the player constantly as a book and loved it. As my schedule has increased and as fall has approached I am now doing what I had initially intended and listen mainly in my car. So as you can imagine here is what happens:
)? I get in the car in the morning and turn on the player.........player loads...........and starts at the last track I was currently listening to. Except that I listen to audio books, and depending on the books some have 6 minute tracks and others have 45-50 minute tracks. As some of you know the track has reset. I now have to start fast forwarding through the track to find my previous spot. I know what some of you are thinking. You bought this player for the bookmarking feature that you spent considerable time talking with creative reps on the phone about and if you use that then you won?t have this problem. (Hold your horses; I will get to that in a sec.)? So you can really imagine my frustration when I get to work....come back after working 9-2 hours and turn on my player to discover....you guessed it. Player remembers the track but not the spot. So repeat the process above OR....
2)? Well as we all know, the main reason I was told that other players such as an Ipod and many other brands would not meet my need was because what I needed was a bookmarking feature. So let's run thru this scenario. Now in the morning I get in my car and find that the track has reset. I have "hot keyed" my short cut button for bookmark feature so that in a short click I can now reach my books that I have saved. I can now choose:? last listened to ) music? 2) chapter in book 3) lecture. This is great
!!! So let's start with the 45 minute chapter in a book. I restart in the chapter I was in (approximately 20 minutes into the chapter) and begin driving. Now in the middle of rush hour traffic 5-0 minutes from work I reach the end of the chapter and BOOM. Track dies and I am enjoying the sweet sound of silence. I can now just enjoy the relaxing silence until I get to work, or I can pick up my player and go back through my "now playing" tab to find the playlist, then locate the next track. This works GREAT!?
After explaining what happens above you can imagine that my original intention of listening to a lecture in the morning, and then relaxing by listening to a book in the evening has completely gone out the window. I now listen to my audio book only, and spend a great deal of time fast forwarding to find my last spot. Some of you might say "What's the big deal?"? Well, first I asked creative about the bookmarking feature, and I promise you that if you call a rep they will not tell you about it working this way even under considerable questioning, and secondly I think if I pay the amount of money I have for this product a software update should be available.
I'm wondering how many people have this problem, and if there are any fixes (including third party).

DataTable on initial request

Hi,
I have a DataTable component with more than 500 rows, so I have used paging, displaying 10 rows at a time. Each row displays details for an employee, such as ID, First Name, Last Name ... etc. I also have separate pages to add and edit an employee. Hence i have a main page, an edit page and an add page.
Edit and add buttons on the main page all work fine, taking me to the edit and add pages respectively. My problem is when navigating back to the main page from either add or edit pages. For example, after editing, I want the DataTable to display the row just edited. Similarly, after adding a new employee, the data table should display the employee just added. Either case, the data table always displays the first item, at index 0.
When navigating back to the main page, the data table (surprisingly) returns the following: -
getFirst() = 0
getRowIndex() = -1
getRowCount() = 0and in no way can alter the position of the first row. neither are beforeRenderResponse() and afterRenderResponse() methods called, where I could manipulate the data table.
Is this because this is an initial request? How can i solve the problem? For instance, can I use the FacesContext instance? If so, how?

Here is what I did to diplay the just edited / added record on going back to the main page:
I added a property to the session bean called stat of datatype boolean. The initial value I set it to false. I added another property corresponding to the primary key. After successfully modifying / adding a record I set the session bean property value of with the edited / added rows corresponding value. Also I set the boolean property to true. In the main page constructor I have an if(sessionBean1().is<booleanProperty>) block. The contents of the block for the sample application I developed are like this:
personRowSet.setCommand("SELECT * FROM TRAVEL.PERSON WHERE JOBTITLE=?");
dataTable1Model.setObject(1,this.getSessionBean1().getJobTitle());
dataTable1Model.execute();
I was able to display the rows that just got added or edited.

1) How would you solve the problem of registering user from iphone application without making the user to enter a security code to prevent spam?
( We use graphical captchas to minimize the risk in web.. but what would you do or what are you doing to make a proper registration from iphone directly to the web server? ) I can request, user, pass,email and register the user, but i can not want him to click on the confirmation code that i've sent to his/her email.. He'll leave my application, click the link,... safari will open.. etc etc...
2) How would you authenticate the user and send commands according to that session?
Would you send user and pass in plaintext, like many web pages' login system..?
And after that would you just get a session id from response and after that, would you use only that code to send new commands according to that authenticated user? like ( http://myserver.com/?cmd=message&text=hi&session_id=34524534 ) ? How would you implement, or you are implementing this in iphone application?
3)What would you use to send commands to server? You use simple url request? ( maybe somewhat REST ) or would you send xml to the server? And how would you get the response? As an XML? as comma seperated simple mode, as JSON to parse? Or would you return property list recognized by iphone? Or.... Or?? What would you use, or what are you using? What's your idea to do it in a proper way? (I know that this can change from people to people, but at least we can see what everyone is telling.. )..
What response type you prefer and why do you prefer it? For example, you are trying to avoid xml to stay away from parsing it without standard libraries... OR... ?

First of all Chain ....end chain is used for validating multiple fields within a particular processing chain,just have a look at the below code:
ex1:

Module test_lifnr will be triggered only if v_lifnr is not initial
and validation will be done.
ex2:
Chain
field v_lifnr module test_lifnr on chain request.
end chain.
here module test_lifnr will be triggered in case the value of v_lifnr is changed.
by change i mean from initial to "aaa" or "aaa" to any other value.
ex3:
Chain
field v_accgrp .
field v_lifnr module test_lifnr on chain input.
field v_nam module test_name on chain request.
end chain.
in this case module test_lifnr will be triggered in case
v_accgrp or v_lifnr is not initial.
and module test_name will be triggered for all the fields mentioned before it i mean in
case any chnge occurs in fields v_accgrp,v_lifnr or v_nam.
in case you dont make any change in field v_name and still the module
test_name can be triggered in case any change occurs in field v_lifnr or v_accgrp.

Render(true or false) on initial request

I have a JSF page which has a button (HtmlCommandButton) on. I want the button to be rendered/displayed depending on a value in the session. How can I do this?
I have the button binded to a HtmlCommandButton instance field member of the AddCaseForm managed bean (see below). On the initial request though I am getting a NullPointerException because in the constructor of the ManagedBean I do :

          offenderFindButton.setRendered(false);
      }else{
          offenderFindButton.setRendered(true);
      }BUT the offenderFindButton is actually null intially. How can I get around this?

purpose?Thanks Sergey it seemed to have worked. I did not really think of doing it that way. I thought that you could have been able to do it from within the constructor of the backing bean since the button was binded to a instance member of the backing bean class.
I am actually still curious why it did not work and why the command button instance field was not initialized by the time the constructor of the backing bean executes on the initial request. Could someone please explain if possible?

BPEL process with one or more requests and one or more responses

We need to create a process that will have one or more requests and one or more responses, and CheckoutFlow example is exactly what we need. Now we just have to find out how to invoke this process from the Axis client and how to invoke other operations like âcontinueâ and âsubmitâ from the same example.
I understand that we have to set ws-addressing information into SOAP header, but I am not sure when and how to do that. Also I am not sure why we have to set correlation set when invoking âinitatiateâ, âcontinueâ and âsubmitâ as they are defined as two-way operations in CheckoutFlow.wsdl. I would expect to send correlation set only for âonResultâ operation.
I have used wsdl2java to create stub classes and here is a test client code:

Working with request and respond in Java.. Help needed.

I'm currently working on making a old time- multiplayer shooter in java.
It will have a TCP server, that got all the games that are hosted
And all clients will connect and get the list of hosted games from this server..
To communicate, I made interfaces for request, and respond.
Logon object:

One of the reasons why im wondering, is because i want to split up the project a bit.
At the moment, i got everything in one project (in Netbeans), and got packages like: Client, Client.Network, Client.GUI, Server, Server.Network, Server.DIV, Shared.NetworkObjects, and so on.
Shared contains all the classes that will go back and forth the client and server.
But I want to split them up into different projects. So Server is a project at its own.
So i tried in netbeans, to make one project for Server, one for Client and one for Shared.
This i thought would work out great, but when i tried to add the projects as libraries, I could'nt add both ways.
This is how i would want it to work:
Server (Access to shared)
Client (Access to shared)
Shared (Access to client and server)
Except when I add Shared in Server as a library, I cant add Server as a library in Server, and same for client.
Netbeans gives me the message: Can't add cylic reference.
So that brings me back to the question, is there a better way for me to split it up, or make the shared network files?
Ps: Sorry if its the wrong forum, but it goes under more than one thing, atleast as i figure.

I don't think that's relevant. I don't see where that code uses anything which is specific to the server and to the client. Those class names look like they belong in the server, so that code shouldn't be in a "shared" class. It should be in a "server" class.
As for the issue of having to tell what kind of object was sent, I'm sure there are better ways than just sending an object and then having the receiver inspect the object to see what kind of object it was.
