Any one used quick sizer for SAP MDM?

    Hi Subin,
Quicksizer is SAP's online sizing tool.
The sizing process uses the web-based Quick Sizer tool, which calculates SAPS requirements based on throughput numbers, and the number of users working with the different SAP Business Suite components in a hardware and database independent format. You can find further information about the SAP sizing process at the following location
    http://service.sap.com/sizing
After obtaining the results of a Quick Sizer project, work with the SAP Competency Center of your specific hardware vendor for sizing and architecture services as you would for physical environments.

    Hi Elmar,
I have checked the packages and the XFree86-libs-4.3.99 is not installed. I guess I will have to install it.
Now your question about oracle user. I am not sure if you have performed any SAP MDM installation with ORACLE RDBMS but the installation guide is totally different than the normal SAP inst guides. Indeed someone needs to install separately SAP MDM and ORACLE and in my installation I do not install NetWeaver since it is not mandatory for the testing phase of the project. You can have a look at the guide (it is very poor -no reference to ORACLE details):
    https://websmp105.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000271882007E
So the official ORACLE inst gudie says to install the ORACLE software with the oracle user.

  • Sizing for SAP BCM (Business Communication Management)

    Hi All
We have to provide a server sizing to be used for SAP BCM (Business Communication Management) module which will be intergrated with SAP CRM and is to be used for call support. As far as we have reached, we require a Windows server and will host MS SQL database with an approx consumer data of 63 lacs consumers.
Please specify the sizing for this server
    Thanks in advance
    Lokesh

Sorry, forgot to ask how much physical memory you have on each host.
Let's split it to 2 topics.
    1. For ECC, since OracleDB and non-unicode page which are the 2 major factors won't be changed, so I would think here we could just do a math, as long as host A has enough memory which is allocated for Oracle and ECC (extended memory) on host B to be added up.
    2. For EP, memory tuning size is basically the same for HP JDK and SUN JDK, that each server node is allocated approximately 2.5GB RAM. Besides, 0.8-1GB RAM needs to be left for OS kernel. But in your case, host B is currently holding 200 users which is a big jump for host A(note: only active user quantity matters here).
That's fine if main physical memory is a little short for host A, utilizing multiple less powerful servers as 2nd tier application server to do the load balancing is also a solution with lower TCO.

  • Network sizing for SAP printing

    Dear all,
We are in the midst of sizing network bandwidth requirement for SAP implementation which involves some remote locations. Actually Iu2019ve gone through the documentation (Front-End Network Requirements for SAP Business Solutions), and found the way of calculating the network requirements based on number of users (C = N * D * X * 0.25 formula), however Iu2019m not sure if the formula does include the SAP printing bandwidth requirement. Appreciate if you can shed some lights on SAP printing network sizing guide or sort.
    Best regards
    Rolando

    Thanks Susanne,
Understand we need to rely on the information on how much the printing requirement is to come up with the estimation on SAP printing bandwidth requirement.
Perhaps you have some experience on the size of 1 page of SAP printlist (plain text) ? Is it safe to have assumption that 1 page of print list would have 20-30 KB in size? And ones with pictures/logos are 100-200KB in size?
    Best regards
    Rolando

  • Scenarios bundle and sample excel files for customer for SAP MDM

    Hi:
In SAP MDM we have the business content which has the archive of the models like customer etc. We also get scenarios bundle with some sample data for customer to load into the above model.
I have the archive but not teh excel files/Scenarios bundle for customer. So I am not sure where can i download it from on SAP network. I could not locate them in the dump of software and not sure if it is not downloaded.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Roopa

    Hi Roopa,
Along with the Business content, SAP has also provided some additional helpful information about the same.

    https://service.sap.com/~sapidb/012006153200000057662009E/MDM_Customer_Content.pdf
Apart from this, I was not able to find sample data for Customer Master, however, I have got sample repositories for Business Partner and Product Repositories.
MDM Business Partner Repository : consists of 21,000 records that are partly ITelO related. Each record is made up of the following attribute groups: Personal Data, Address Data, and Communication Data

MDM Product Repository : consists of 100 records which are ITelO related. Each record is made up of the following attributes: Product Name, Product Group, Manufacturer

This info is avaliable from SAP on SDN itself.
    Hope this info helps

My name is Balu completed Mechanical Engineering. Am Interesting to learn SAP MDM. Is there any Programming Knowledge require for to learn SAP MDM. Please reply my Question.
    Thanks In Advance,
    Best Regards,
    Balu
    Hi Balu,
It all depends on the kind of role you aim at or how you want to sell yourself.
I dont think programming knowledge is required for core SAP MDM related work but it all depends on the role in hand, project requirement, landscape, customization etc.
I will like to add that SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management (SAP NetWeaver MDM) can provide a single version of master data for supplier, product, customer, or user-defined data objects in heterogeneous environments.
It is not only a tool but a part of strategy. It has to interact various SAP as well as legacy systems for data related operations.
SAP provides its users with set of APIs which one can use to achieve customization as per their requirement.
There are ABAP,JAVA and .NET APIs provided by SAP for this purpose.
In all, having a coding experience in any of the above languages would certainly be a plus.
    Hope it help!
    Thanks,
    Ravi

  • Pre req's for SAP MDM

    Hi,
I am working on j2EE technologies for past 2 years and planning to move to SAP MDM. Will it be easy to move to MDM(i understand there will be a learning curve, but still!)  or do I need to fulfill any pre req's to learn it. If so, what will be those?

    Hi,
if you are planning to become a MDM technical Consultant, then your experience in J2EE will prove very helpful. you can  easily explore and develop using Java API and web services.
If you have little bit of ABAP, XI and Enterprise Portal, that would be plus point. but it is not mandatory, you can learn MDM without having good knowledge of these.
    Regards,
    Shiv

  • Winshuttle for SAP MDM

    Hi All,
I would like to know how the Winshuttle tool works in SAP MDM perspective.I Am looking for reference documents, configuration documents for the Winshuttle in SAP MDM.please guide me.
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards,
    Kiran

Winshuttle does not provide any connectors specifically for NetWeaver MDM. Connectivity can be achieved from Winshuttle forms and workflow through generic web service plugins.

  • For sap mdm do i need to know webdynpro abap or java

    hi
i want to learn sap mdm, then do i need to have knowledge in any of  following languages?
    1. webdynpro abap
    2.webdynpro java
    3. normal java( core java/j2ee )
    4.  normal abap
    thanks
    akhil

If you are using ABAP APIs then normal ABAP knowledge will come in handy
If u want to connect your MDM server to a portal system, then Portal knowledge will come in handy
Even the basic MDM scenarios are generally done by using Exchange Infrastructure
so basic knowledge of that is essential

  • Hardware Sizing for EBP, MDM Catalog

    Hi,
This is for an SRM implementation project in extended classic scenario. The plan is to use all 3 components EBP, MDM Catalogs and SUS.
We are sizing hardware for a mid size company with around 10,000 employee base and USD 350 million of spend to be processed. With not more than 50.000 (X) Purchase orders annually, and therefor assumed Goods confirmation document and invoices to be 100.000 (2X).
We are using Quicksizer tool for sizing. Here are some of the areas which we need to validate-
    1. Is there a benchmark or a recommended or empirical percentage (%) of total employee strength that will be concurrent users.
    2. What can be the SAPS number range for EBP for a typical mid size company as described above. Any experience with respect to this would be helpful.
    3. Quicksizer doesnt suppoer MDM catalog sizing. Any inputs on the same would be useful.
    4. We are using EBP sizing template in quicksizer for SUS sizing with object data with respect to SUS. Is this the right approach.
Thanks for the assistance in advance.
