Initial view for portfolio

I have 9 standard on vista and I set my initial view to show bookmarks, but when I save and reopen it does not show them. how do I fix that? Also how to I set it so that the portfolio opens to a specific file in the portfolio/page view?

Default documents in PDF Portfolios - see my old blog.
Showing the bookmarks panel (by changing the Document Properties) should work for a standalone file, but it won't change what's shown on the previews in a Portfolio.

  • Define Initial View for PDF-

Is there a way to define the Initial View setting for a PDF document within Photoshop? Right now i have to save the PDF file with Photoshop, then open it with Acrobat and change the "Initial View" settings in Acrobat…
BTW: I'm sending these pdfs to others so, no, changing the General Initial View for Acrobat itself won't do the trick…

  • Specifying different initial views for different users in ALV web dynpro

    Hi Friends,
I need to have 2 different initial view for my web dynpro application eg: View1 and View2. There will 2 group of users using the respective Views. However the first group should not be able to see other view(View2) and vice versa.
Please tell me whether it is possible and if yes then how to do it.
    Regards,
    Saud

    Hi,
the ALV component has a public attribute - R_COMPONENT which is of type ref to IF_SALV_WD_COMPONENT_TABLE
you can call GET_PERSONALISATION on this reference to return a reference to the interface IF_SALV_WD_COMP_TABLE_PERS. This in turn has a method - SET_STANDARD_VIEW.
I think that this should allow you to set which ever view you want.
    Hope it helps,
    Chris

  • Initial View for PDF Package

I've created a PDF Package. I'd want to make sure that the documents in the package display on the left-hand side of the document pane when someone opens the PDF Package. There doesn't seem to be any option for that under File > Properties > Initial View. How can I make sure that the links to the individual files that make up the Package are showing when someone opens the Package?

  • Enhance initial views for cProjects

    Hi experts,
My requirement is to enhance the initial views of cProjects (e.g. Projects, Tasks, Checklist Items, Templates) by an additional tab where I want to provide a custom report. (I know that there is the possibility to add an additional tab for specified project elements, e.g. project definition, project role.)
Is there a way to enhance the startup view of cProjects?
    I appreciate any hint!
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards
    Wolfgang

    Hi Wolfgang,
The tabs on top level can not be enhanced via customizing. If you would like to add your own tab, the views has to be modified,
    dpr_mainframe, vi_tabs.
P.S: the existing tab 'Info' (on the left side of tab Projects) seems to be filled dynamically.  may be you can use it for your application.
    Kind regards,

  • Initial View in a PDF Portfolio

I have just started using the new portfolio feature, I have four forms that I've combined. I am using the Grid with Preview option to layout the files. When I open the portfolio it always opens to the same page in the second form, how do I change it to open to the first page of the first form?

    Michael,
    Can you explain precisely?
Cover Sheet? In Acrobat Pro 9? Where?
A search in the Help file returns nothing when searching for "Cover Sheet" or even "Welcome Page."
In Acrobat Pro 8, there was an explicit command to set the currently viewed document as the start document.
The Help files describe setting an Initial View for a Portfolio; but when you select Portfolio Properties... from the File menu, you get a Document Properties dialog, not a Portfolio Properties dialog. You only get an Initial VIew pane for a document.

  • Initial View using PDF Portfolio HELP

Using the new PDF Portfolio Feature. I went to file>portfolio properties and select initial view tab. I changed magnification level to "Actual Size", however when i open the pdf, the initial view is not 100%. Can anyone help me?

I'm not sure what it means to set the Initial View of a Portfolio to a given size.  If I try setting the Initial View for either a Portfolio or a single PDF to 'Actual Size', when I come back to check the setting it always says '100%'.
A PDF Portfolio will open up to a navigator that shows you various attached files.  I'm not sure what Actual size means in terms of a Portfolio, but all of the attached files are represented inside the Portfolio on Cards.  Depending on the current navigator your cards, and the files represented on them, may be various sizes, unless you are using the Freeform or Grid navigators which can have one of 3 different card sizes:  Large, Medium or Small.  With the other 3 navigators, Click-Through, Linear or Wave, the card will adjust to a predetermined maximum size depending on the size of the Acrobat Viewer window.
Now, if it is a PDF that is inside a Portfolio, then when you click on it, it should open that PDF in the Navigator View at Actual Size if that is what you set for the PDF (not the parent Portfolio).  I made a Portfolio with 2 versions of the same PNG file converted to a PDF.  One of them I set the Initial View to Actual Size, and the other one I set to 100%.  Both of these open and view identically inside the Portfolio, as well as when I open them into Acrobat from within the Portfolio.

  • CProjects initial views configuration (PPM 5.0)

    Hi,
I am new to PPM 5.0
In the earlier version, we used to configure the initial views of the cProject by configuring the "Define Initial Views for cProjects". I was not able to find that node in PPM 5.0 (IMG). I have a requirement to add approval tab for a phase.

  • Default initial view that applies to all PDFs opened

Is it possible to set a default PDF initial view that applies to every pdf opened, regardless of the source of the pdf?  Simply put, I want to have the initial view of EVERY pdf I open to be at 100% zoom and no bookmark panel.  Obviously this can be done manually every time I open a pdf, which will then reopen with those settings.  It seems logical that I should be able to set a default initial view that will apply to any pdf I open and not require me to manually set every one. I've tried every option noted in all the forums I have found, using prologue and epilogue, file>properties, edit>preferences, action wizard.  It all boils down to this...I don't want to manually set anything.  I want to open pdf documents in the initial view I prefer.

I have spend a great deal of time researching this exact question.  What I have found is that essentially the answer is "no".  I have come up with a workaround that isn't painless, but it gets the results I want without having to touch every pdf after it is opened.
I set up an Action in Acrobat that has the options I want (page and 100% with no bookmark panel open) and run it against pdfs in a specified directory.  It sets all initial views for any pdf in the directory to what I want.  The action can also be run against any directory or file, but for my purposes I find doing it in a sort of "batch" mode works best.  To set the Action:
         1.     Open Acrobat (with no other pdfs open)
         2.     File >Action Wizard>Create New Action
         3.     On right panel set
Start with:     "Ask When Action is Started"
Save to:          "The Same Folder Selected at Start", check "Overwrite existing Files"
(if you plan to run this action against a directory as I am)
         4.     From left panel
                             Select Document Processing>Set Open Options
         5.     In right panel click on "Options" for the step you just created and set the initial view you desire
         6.     Save
When you want to use the action you can access it from Acrobat opening window or any pdf file you currently have open.
Another alternative is to use Distiller with epilogue.ps or prologue.ps to append this initial view to any document created.  As I don't create many pdfs, it didn't really help with what I wanted to do. .

  • Batch create multiple pdf's while using epilogue.ps for setting initial view and opening bookmarks

    Hi,
I'm trying to batch create multiple pdf's from word files, and use the epilogue.ps file for setting the initial view and opening the bookmarks panel, but i keep getting no satisfying result.. i'm probably missing something fundamental.
I've read some forum posts and adobe help posts explaining this, so i'm pretty sure this would be possible?
    Reference:
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/X/pro/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7f0f.w .html  see advanced panel options
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7f14.w.html
    System: Windows 7
    Acrobat: Acrobat X professional
i've searched for and found a way to overwite the epilogue.ps file and have inserted the following:
%  Insert your custom PostScript here...
    [ /PageMode /UseThumbs
    /Page 1 /View [/Fit ]
    /DOCVIEW pdfmark
After that i checked my Adobe Acrobat preferences, and in the categorie 'Convert to Pdf' i selected 'Microsoft office word' in the select area 'Converting to pdf'.
Clicked 'Edit settings' to allow creating a joboptions file (field: 'adobe pdf settings') which has the option 'Use epiloque.ps and prologue.ps' checked in the advanced section.
So now i thought i would have everyting setup to create my pdf's, however, my view isn't changed to fit, nor are there any bookmarks or in this case thumbs (i used /useThumbs) visible.
Did i miss something obvious? Is there a better way to test this? Any help would be appreciated!

  • Initial views in an Acrobat Portfolio

Anyone know if I can set a default page view for files when they are opened from a portfolio.
I've got a portfolio file containing 2 folders - portfolio display is sliding row with sidebar - the 2 folders appear fine and the files within each folder appear fine too. Everything works. However one thing's bugging me.
Folder 1 has A5 landscape files and they just about fit to window view when opened - presumably this is because of the landscape format.
Folder 2 has A4 portrait files which won't open in a default fit to window view.
Can I set a default for the portfolio so that any files open in a fit to window view?

    Addition to the above.
Meant to say when the files are then opened in Acrobat Reader.

  • In Initial View, can you set defaults for Navigation tab, Page layout, and Magnification?

    Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro V9.4.0
    Win7 Pro x64
Problem: In Initial View, can you set defaults for Navigation tab, Page layout, and Magnification?
Every time Acrobat scans a document, I have to go to Initial View to set Navigation tab, Page layout, and Magnification. It does not remember the settings I last used.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Setting default "Initial View" options for new PDFs

I usually want most of the PDFs I create to open with the pages panel displayed and “fit to window”. Currently I open every PDF and change that in the document properties under “Initial View”, save and close.
There must be a better way.
Is it possible to set this as the default for all newly created PDFs as part of the job options definition?
I've searched in the different settings panes, but to no avail.
    Any hints appreciated.

The Initial View (IV) settings are not part of the options when creating a new PDF, either in Acrobat or Distiller.
There are several options to apply IV depending on the version of Acrobat you're using. You can create an Action in Acrobat X which applies IV to any open file as per your requirements, and optionally saves it as well. In Acrobat 9 or earlier you can do a similar thing with a batch process sequence.
If you need to attach IV as part of the creation process then you can use an "epilogue.ps" script to add commands which Distiller will append to the PDF, and link that PS file to one of Distiller's presets.
Lori Kassuba has a blog post about this method.

  • IDCS3 - PDF Export Preferences for Initial View?

Is there a way to set preferences for an exported PDF's initial view? I'd like my PDFs to open as single-page (not continuous), sized to Fit In Window, without changing them manually in Acrobat. Thanks for any ideas you can offer!
