Initialisation Xcontrol

Bonjour,
Je voudrais initialiser Un X_control avec deux valeurs qui me servent à déterminer la taille d'un buffer interne au Xcontrol me permettant de conserver un maximum sur un certain temps.
je n'ai pas réussi à trouver dans le tutorial une façon d'appeler un evenement une seule fois au chargement du Xcontrol.
Les methodes et les propriétés agissent sur la structure DisplayState qui est donc relue à chaque changement d'affichage dans le contrôle, ce que je ne peux pas me permettre.
Existe t'il une façon d'initialiser un X control avant de le lancer?

Vous souhaitez en fait modifier certaines valeurs d'initilisation de votre Xcontrol avant de l'utiliser?
Vous avez la possibilité de créer des propriétés pour votre Xcontrol que vous allez modifier dans votre VI principal.
Dans l'exemple que je ai donné dans le précédent post, c'est ce qui se passe avec la propriété "mode Fahrenheit ?" dans le VI Run Dual Mode Thermometer XControl.vi. La propriété,dans cet exemple, permet de voir en face avant le mode d'affichage de température, mais il est tout a fait possible de le mettre en lecture afin de forcer ce mode par programmation.
En créant des propriétés correpondant à la taille que vous souhaitez avoir pour votre buffer, vous pouvez implémenter une partie de code dans votre VI principal afin d'initialiser ces valeurs une fois.

XControl (question sur l'initialisation)

Un XControl (indicateur).
Quand je le place sur le FP ... il se positionne comme un "controle" ... et apparait aussi comme tel sur le BD.
Cela fait 2hrs que je retourne ce pb dans tous les sens.
Le VI "init", le "container state", le code dans Facade/display state change ... rien n'y fait.
Existe-t-il un moyen, quand je place mon XControl sur le FP, qu'il se positionne directement en "indicateur" (??)

Quand je crée un nouveau XControl ... New Project / My Computer (clic-droit) / New / XControl
LavVIEW me "donne" un XControl type de "départ".
Première point : Dans le FP de "init", je n'ai pas le "flag" dont vous parlez.
J'ai : Previous Version, Previous State, Current State, Container State, Default Indicator State, Default Control State ... mais aucun "flag".
deuxième point :
voici ce que je lis en commentaires, dans le BD de "facade", pour les events "Display State Change" et "Direction Change"
Moi j'ai ça pour Événement Changement de l'état d'affichage (dans le documentation de LabVIEW) :
"Généré sur le VI Façade si l'état d'affichage de la commandeX change suite à l'invocation par l'utilisateur d'une propriété ou d'une méthode sur la commandeX.."
Changement de l'état d'affichage == Display State Change
et pour "Display State Change", moi j'ai ceci (comme sur l'image ci-dessus)
Display State changed as a result of dropping a new instance of this XControl, copying,
undoing an operation or executing a custom property or method on this XControl. Update the appearance accordingly.
On parle "comme pour vous" de "l'invocation par l'utilisateur d'une propriété ou d'une méthode",
mais, de mon côté, on parle en plus de "a result of dropping a new instance of this XControl".
Pour Événement Changement de direction (dans le documentation de LabVIEW) :
"Généré sur le VI Façade lorsque la direction de la commandeX passe de commande à indicateur ou vice versa."
Changement de direction == Direction Change
et pour "Direction Change", j'ai : "The direction of the XControl changed from a control to an indicator or vice versa."
Ce qui est, dans ce cas, la même chose que pour vous.
Donc, petit bilan ...
Concernant le fait de "placer une instance du XControl" sur le FP,
pour moi : cela est géré par l'event "Display Stage Change" .... (dropping a new instance ...)
pour vous: on n'en parle pas ... ni pour un événement, ni pour l'autre.
pour wiki : wiki parle que le "drop" est géré par l'event "Direction Change" ... (soit l'inverse de chez moi)
               Ceci dit (en passant) ... wiki dit que le "load into memory" est géré aussi bien par l'un et par l'autre (??)
               Oui, cela n'a rien avoir ... juste une incohérence qui me fait douter du reste.
               wiki est aussi le seul a parler du drop initial (le 1er ?)
Et si on plaçait un "Breakpoint" dans chaque Event pour "voir" qui intercepte le drop ?
un seul ? les deux ? ... et si "les deux", dans quel ordre ?
Voici le résultat pour un "drop", les 2 events sont sollicités : (multiple tests, résultats identiques)
1er arrêt : Direction Change
2eme arrêt : Display State Change
Il serait donc possible de "réagir" à un drop aussi bien dans un event que dans l'autre.
Mais j'ai remarqué une grosse différence ... voici le code que j'utilise pour placer mon XControl en Indicateur lors du drop.
(oui, la structure condition est inutile ... petit purisme de ma part)
Si je place ce code dans "Display State Change"
1) mon XControl se positionne bien en Indicateur lors du drop
2) une fois placé comme indicateur, je peux toujours (par la suite) le faire basculer en Controle, et vis versa.
Si je place ce code dans "Direction Change"
1) mon XControl se positionne bien en Indicateur lors du drop
2) il est verouillé ! plus moyen de le changer en Controle (normal, tous changements fait l'objet d'un "reset" en position indicateur)
L'un et l'autre fonctionne, mais le résultat final est différent.
et pour terminer, un dernier mot sur ce "Flag" (inexistant chez moi lors de la création d'un nouveau XControl)
Le sous VI "Led-Ctrl2Ind" met le flag à 1 une fois que le XControl a été déposé sur la face-avant ...
Je ne vois franchement pas à quoi sert cette mise à "1" de ce Flag ... que je n'ai pas chez moi. (LV 2011)
Ceci dit, le canard est toujours vivant, car on ne sait toujours pas entre "Direction Change" et "Display State Change"
lequel des deux est spécialement dédié à la gestion d'un drop.

I purchased and downloaded Photoshop Elements 13, but the installer fails to initialise. How do I get it to work?

I have Photoshop Elements 10 and Premier Elements 10 installed on my PC. Both were installed from discs that I bought a few years ago. I recently purchased the upgrade (by download) for both applications to version 13. In accordance with the (scant) instructions received by email, I downloaded the four files required from the Adobe site. I subsequently ran the .exe files, which in turn created directories on my PC, including set-up.exe files for both applications. When I run the setup files, I get an error message stating that the installer failed to initialise. The error message advised me to download the Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem. That tool does not exist. I then sought assistance from the Abobe support site, initially using the hyperlink suggestions, which were of no use, then using the chat function. The operator kept trying to get me to do something with something called 'Creative Cloud'; which I am not familiar with, and do not use. He then instructed me to download and run a CS5 cleaner tool; however, none of the choices offered by that tool include my issue, or either Photoshop Elements or Premier Elements. I am reluctant to uninstall version 10 of the programs in case I end up losing the lot and therefore wasting even more money than the purchase price for this upgrade.
All I want to do is upgrade my two applications from version 10 to version 13. I have paid the requisite fee but it clearly does not work. I appear to have totally wasted my money. Can anyone please tell me how to get it to work? I do not want to have anything to do with the so-called ‘Creative Cloud’ as I have no idea what it is, and I do not want to lose what I already have (and have paid for previously).
I have tried for a few days to access the so-called 24/7 chat assistance but appeared to have been locked out as every time I try to access it, I get a message that the (24/7) chat is closed. Adobe has taken my money for a product that does not work, and also refuse to help me fix it.
I am very frustrated with a product I bought that does not work, and a 24/7 support service that clearly is not 24/7, and which refuses to assist me. Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to get this to work? Rod.

Merge Replication Error When Initialising subscription

I have a SQL server 2005 server with a merge publication of 6 articles all of which are tables which is also the distributor. I have two existing subscriptions one from a SQL 2005
Server and one from a SQL Server 2008 R2 Server both of which are working fine on this publication. I am trying to setup a third subscription to another SQL Server 2008 R2 server, the only difference with this server is that it is a named instance. I have
forced the port to 1433, and created an alias on the publisher connectivity is not an issue or at least i don't think so.
when I try to initialise the subscription from a new snapshot I get the below error;
Error: 14151, Severity: 18, State: 1.
Replication-Replication Merge Subsystem: agent failed. No subscription is on this publication or article.
I've changed the agent profile and turned on verbose logging and output the results to a file the snapshot delivery is failing on the below for the first table;

I've checked the subscriber and the table does indeed get dropped and created, permissions / routes don't seem to be an issue. I've included some of the verbose logging output below.

The table gets dropped and recreated each time i try to reinitialise the subscription. I can't remove the article at the moment as two other servers subscribe to the publication.

Macbook pro fails to read sd card with movies recorded on it, any ideas? I can view them in the video camera so know they are there somewhere. I am now thinking I should have formatted or initialised the new card before using it.

My macbook pro is failing to read a new sd card with movies recorded on it. Any ideas please? A previously used SD card has downloaded without problems. I have tried using a card reader as well as downloading from the video camera itself, neither works.

Xcontrol does not work in built application

I can't seem to get my custom xcontrol to work in the final built application. It works perfectly fine when the top-level .vi is started from the development environment. But all I get is the broken control image when I run the built application. Is there something I'm missing in the build definition?
I tried puting the thermometer xcontrol example into a built application and everything works fine. The build definition only included the top-level file, so I don't think it's a problem with support/dynamic files...
By the way, is there some trick to maintaining these xcontrols? I love the concept, but man they are a pain in the butt to work with. One wrong move in the project manager and they're messed up for life. I finally learned to back everything up on a regular basis so I wouldn't lose everything if it one decided to go psycho on me.

I've got it working now, but I'm going about it in a round-about way. My application has (had) a splash-screen/launcher vi that dynamically loads and launches the actual top-level user-interface vi. The top-level vi was included in the build definition as a dynamic file. This is the ONLY dynamic call in the entire application. All other vi are called the normal way on the wiring diagram. I could never get the xcontrol to work this way. I even tried including ALL of the relevant files as dynamic/support file and could never get it to work. In one experiment, I placed an xcontrol on the top-level vi (the top-level vi doesn't have any of the xcontrols, only a couple dialog-box sub-vis that it calls). Again, everything worked fine from the development environment. But, when compiled, the top-level vi would fail to start completely. I never bothered to check what the execution state of the top-level vi was before I called it, but I assume it was "bad" so the dynamic call would fail.
I got it working by eliminating the dynamic call and calling the top-level vi as a normal sub-vi from the wiring diagram. BUT, it still had problems and would always ask me to find a couple files from the 'XControlSupport.lvlib', specifically 'Action.ctl' and 'Container State.ctl'. The xcontrol also uses the standard 'eventkey.ctl' from the 'event_ctls.llb' and it would ask me to find this file every time as well. I tried including the libraries in the project and including these libraries in the build as dynamic/support files, but still no good. To fix the problem, I copied these files into my project folder, specifically included them in my project, and then replaced all of the controls wherever they appeared with the corresponding controls included within the project.

Database Initialiser does not create azure sql database

I have a WPF application In the OnStartup in the app.cs I set the Database initializer and forced the context the initialise my database:

I created a sql database in the management portal of the azure.
Copied the connectionstring it provided for ADO.net.
But my database is not created.
I also added a firewall rule but nothing happens. I Have no clue what to do.
Can anybody please help me with this?

I suggest you check your SQL connection, after run your code, please refresh azure portal to see whether your database is exist. Hope this give you some help.

When I want to change the control's data with a local variable in a VI, the VI change nothing. The change of data isn't perform

Excel Crashes every time Software Protection Service initialises.

Hello,
I was wondering if I could get some help. I have an issue whereby Excel 2013 seems to crash what seems like randomly, however when I look in the event log it seems to be every time the Software Protection Service initialises while Excel is running.
I have never seen this happen myself, as it's one of my clients machines, but can confirm each time he says it happens in the event viewer.
If you look in the event logs, you have events in this order:

As a test, I disabled Software Protection Service temporarily and this seemed to resolve the issue, until we reactivated windows and the service resumed it's duty.

Does this only happen to Excel 2013? What about other Office applications?
Office Software Protection Platform Service is responsible for the verification of your Office licensce, please first check the activation status of your Office installation.
Since you've mentioned that "disabled Software Protection Service temporarily and this seemed to resolve the issue", I would also suggest we first try below steps and see if issue persists:
Go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform and rename
tokens.dat to tokens.old.
Go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform\Cache
and rename cache.dat to cache.old
Restart your computer, then launch excel and check again.
Please feel free to post back with any findings.

How do I create an xControl with multiple inputs and outputs?

i am trying to write a new Xcontrol Element. In the data model I can create data types using the cluster to create compound types, eg an int and an int array. But how do I create an xcontrol which has multiple data inputs and outputs?

Can you take a few steps back and explain what you are actually trying to do. SubVIs and Xcontrols have nothing in common and it is not clear why you even try to compare them side by side (e.g. in terms of the number of connectors).

No Data Change event generated for a XControl in a Type Def.

Maybe I am missing something but the Data Change event of a XControl is not called when the XControl is used in a Type Def. or Strictly Type Def. (see the attached file).
There may be some logics behind it but it eludes me. Any idea of why or any idea of a workaround still keeping the Type Def. ?

Thank you for addressing this issue. It must be a XControl because it carries many implemented functions/methods (though there is none in the provided example).
Also consider that the provided non-working example is in fact a reduction of my actual problem (in a 1000-VI large application) to the smallest relevant elements. In fact I use a typedef of a mix of a lot of different XControls and normal controls, some of them being typedef, strictly typedef or normal controls and other XControls of XControls (of XControls...) in a object oriented like approach...

I use a typedef to propagate its modifications automatically everywhere it is used in the application (a lot of places). As you imply a XControl would do the same, though one would like to construct a simple typedef when no additional functionality is wanted.
The remark "XControl=typedef+block diagram" is actually very neat (never thought of it that way) because it provides a workaround by transforming every typedef into a XControl. Thanks very much, I will explore this solution.
One issue remains: All normal controls update their displayed value when inserted into a typedef but not XControls. Data change event is not triggered. I known that XControls have some limitations (no array of XControls) but I would say, like TWGomez, that this is a “bug” considering the expected functionality.

QT 7.1.3 plugin doesn't initialise properly in IE7

Since installing IE7, I have had problems with the Quicktime 7.1.3 plug-in for Internet Explorer. The issue seems to be related to the IE7 security "enhancements" but I have not been able to find a solution.
An example - if I click on a movie trailer on the QT Movies web site, I get a "Plugin Error" message that reads "An error occurred inside a plugin contained on this page". If I OK it away I get a second "Plugin Error" message that reads "The plugin did not initialize properly". If I persist in trying, IE7 will crash. This is in the "Internet" security zone for IE7.
Some probably related behaviour that I have observed: If I try to open a .mov file on a network drive with IE7 (this is in the "Local Intranet" security zone), I get a blank browser window. No error message, but nothing happens. If I open the same file on a local drive (in the "My Computer" security zone), the QT plugin and IE7 do their job properly. The weird thing here is that, once I have intialised the plugin properly in this way, I can navigate to the QT Movies web site using the same browser window and eveything works perfectly.
Is there some security setting in IE7 that I have missed? Any ideas on how to solve this problem so that the QT plugin initialises properly in the "Internet" security zone of IE7?

I don't know if Apple has abandoned their software plugin for IE or what. I'd just recommend to move on to other audio video formats that do work, as a solution does seem likely to be forthcoming from Apple.

Copying an XControl from one LVLib to another

I'm trying to copy a project from a template into a new location programatically. I face problems while copying XControls from one LVLib to another. I also need to rename the all the VIs and Ctls in the XControl and the XControl and LVLib. Kindly post in your ideas.

Hi Vaishnavi,
You can not just copy an XControl folder on the disk, you have to do this from LabVIEW.
The Save As dialog will give you an option to create a copy and it will take care of all naming issues automatically.

Creative Suite CS5.5 applications will no longer initialise

I have been using Adobe Creative Suite (Design Standard) CS5.5 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard via monthly subscription since last August with no problems. On Saturday I was working on a project using InDesign and PhotoShop, then on Sunday morning I tried to start work again but found that non of the Creative Suite applications (InDesign, PhotoShop and Illustrator) will launch. All freeze soon after the "Initialising" splash screen appears. These screens (together with the watch time symbol) remain like that until I force quit them. Bridge and Acrobat still work, as do all other applications. I have no idea how to solve this problem and can't understand what has caused it.
Adobe Support have been completely unhelpful and have left me completely in the lurch.
If anybody can offer any advice, I would be extremely grateful! I have a big deadline coming up so urgently need to fix this!

When opening Firefox, I get a message "Could not initialise the application's security component. The most probable cause is problems with files in your browser's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard drive is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the browser and fix the problem. If you continue to use this browser session, you might see incorrect browser behaviour when accessing security features." Firefox then opens but all tabs are marked New Tab and no access can be obtained to the various websites. If I try to sign in to Google, a new window opens marked About:blank. I have wireless connection which is functioning correctly. Please help get my connection working if possible.

I haven't utilised this answer as I resurrected another laptop and copied folders from the AppData Local and Roaming folders and pasted them into my corrupted machine, which is now working well. However, I am extremely grateful to you for coming to my aid and have bookmarked the reply should it fail again.
