Initialise Error

In downloading Adobe Reader to my XP professional I get an error Failure to Initialise

Thank you for taking the trouble to help me with my problem. Fortunately one of the sites listed on your forum [get.adobe.com/uk/reader/completion installer = reader_10.1.3_English_UK for windows ] has enabled me to get a copy of Adobe Reader without any difficulty. Prior to this I had tried the standard sites recommended by Microsoft and even with virus protection turned off and firewall removed I got the same failure with Failed to Initialise error'. All very strange until I realised from your Forum that many other people were getting the same problem. Is it specific to XP professional users? I shall test the site you recommend and get back to you. Many thanks Richard

Writer initialisation error ! has this been resolved in CS3

I can not encode a wmv from CS3 (since installing CS4) without getting the "writer initialisation error " message.
Has there been any resolution to this issue or any one know a fix.?
I do not wish to continually export an avi then create a wmv from that in Adobe Media Encoder(CS4) or MS Media Encoder.
I know that works but the workflow is time consuming ,tedious and in efficient when all I want is "quick and dirty" preview wmvs direct from the timeline as I used to be able to do.
Sidenote. This forum setup continues to be dire and unpleasant to use since it changed !. Anyone having any sort of decent experience with it? (How?)

After posting this morning, I discovered another little workflow that may help someone in this situation.
The CS4 Media Encoder (standalone) will import a Sequence from a CS3 Premiere Project and export whatever...
This at least saves the intermediate "Movie" File.
Simply Add the Project to the A M Encoder and choose the sequence. (surprisingly...it works!)
I guess that will have to do meantime.
re the Forum...I have deliberately stayed away until now because of the frustration involved. Only popping in on occassion to see if there are any signs of a CS4 update/fix/repair. (I do not use the CS4 Premiere component at all now and wait patiently to see if they can even repair it at all)
I do not know how anyone has the patience to come here and contribute while this site is in such a state!

Citrix receiver throws "ssl initialisation error 8" when launching citrix apps from firefox on Windows

Hi all,
I recently switched over to mozilla firefox from google chrome as Google has now disabled NPAPI and thus allowing me the inability to launch citrix applications.
I have installed the latest version of firefox and have the latest version of citrix receiver. When i login to my citrix site and try to launch the citrix applications, nothing happens. When i manually launch the ica file, i receive the error. "Unable to connect to the Xenapp server. SSL initialisation error 8".
Please help as i need to get this up and running by this week.

Unfortunately we can't support plugins here. While still working (some of the time) in Firefox, NPAPI is officially considered legacy, and thus not supported, in Firefox.
I suggest working with Citrix or using Internet Explorer to run XenApps.

Period Initialise error

Dear All
At the time of period initialise through MMPI system through out the error as " Some materials are locked."
but materials status are all in active no deletion flag and not blocked in MMR views.
i have follow up the notes 487381 notes procedure for period initialise.

material locked means that some other users are in update mode in material master maintenance or any transaction that will update material master.
You should initialize periods when nobody is changing data.

LC Initialisation Error

Hi All,
We installed SAP APO 4.0 on HP-IA64, Because APO livecache on HP-IA64 is not released by SAP, We installed Livecache on Windows 2003 server. Optimizer is running on different Windows 2003 server.
After the integration setup on LC10. when we try to initialise the LCA we are getting the following error message.
Name and Server       : TLD - tlcdev
DBMRFC Function       : DBM_EXECUTE
Command               : dbm_version
Error                 : DBM Error
Return Code           :        -11
Error message         : tp error: can not execute tp
On debugging the program we found that Methode EXECUTE_DBMCLI_COMMAND on class CL_SAPDB_DBA is executed and funtion module 'SAPDB_DBM_EXECUTE' returns -11 for field 'sysrc'.
Please let me know anyone faced this problem and solution for the same.

as for TVR Prasad, I'd like you to open a CSS message aswell for your issue (on the BC-DB-LVC queue). These liveCache issues should be handled on an official basis.
You could take a look at note 831108 ('Overview note on DBMRFC problems in MaxDB-CCMS') to see if that points you in the right direction.

Discoverer plus initialisation error

Hi!
When I try to launch Discover Plus I get the following error:
"Unable to connect to Oracle Discoverer Application Server
Attempt1: RMI Protocol over http transport:
Incorrect response from (server name)"
We initially thought that this was a firewall issue, but it's not.
Any ideas?

I've only ever heard of this problem with Discoverer Plus, as it's only Disco Plus that uses 'RMI protocol over JRMP Transport', which is a way for the Discoverer Plus applet to communicate with the server. Anyway, the solution as given by Oracle at http://otn.oracle.com/products/discoverer/htdocs/hints/htm/plus_Connect.htm is:-
"If youre using Internet Explorer and try to establish a Discoverer plus 9.0.2.39.1 session, and you may encounter this error on some workstations:
Unable to connect to the Oracle Discoverer Application Server: RMI protocol over JRMP transport: incorrect response from from servlet at http://yourmachinename.com:7778/discoverer/plus
If the answer to either of the following questions is 'yes', then this document may help you correct your environment.
Can you connect using Netscape?
Can you connect from other workstations?
Solution:
Check your web listener error_log. In unix environments it is found in [ORACLE_HOME] /product/ias902/Apache/Apache/logs - filename: error_log.
Use tail -f error_log to view the contents of the error_log file.
If the server error_log contains [OSSO] Warning: Failed to decrypt OHS_ID cookie value. Bailing ..., then it is possible that cookies are being stored in the browser (not intended), whereas the cookies in question are designed to be non-persistent. To rectify this do as follows.
· Enter Start -> settings -> Control Panel -> Internet options -> General -> Temporay Internet Files -> Settings View Files
or
· [Driveletter]:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Cookies
Delete all Cookie files from ias server and sso server.

     What happens when you connect from sqlplus with service_name when you find this error .
     What is the output of "lsnrctl status"
     What is the full error message?

I am working on Oracle 9i. My problem is oracle 9i window opens. But i can not log in. while log in it displays an error message as follows.
ERROR:
ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress.
I refer the oracle documentation.There i found the meaning of error message as follows.
Cause: An attempt was made to log on while Oracle is being started or shut down.
Action: Wait a few minutes. Then retry the operation.
I tried it. But it can not work.
Please anybody help me in rectifying the problem.It is URGENT.

Quick time failed to initialise, error 2096

I upgraded to itunes 7.1 and now I cannot open itunes. Keep getting the error 2096 message. Tried to reinstall itunes with no luck,same error message.Pliz help.I am losing my cool.

Is your QuickTime working if you try to open it?

If your QuickTime works normally let me know.
The 2096 error has often been associated with compatability mode problems.
Otherwise try a complete removal of all iTunes related programs:

Then download and install the version of Quicktime that does not include iTunes:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
Check that it works
Then try installing iTunes.

BT Softphone (Crash.exe) initialise error message

Hi,
On ether start up and (or) shutdown, i get a message saying that Crash.exe or Crash.dll has failed to initialise! This message appears intermittently on startup or shutdown.
Having looked this routine up, it appears to reside in the BT softphone directories etc.
i've tried reinstalling the softphone program, with no joy in fixing it. Also, i've tried disabling both the firewall and anti-virus programs with no joy there ether!
Has anyone any idea how to fix this?

An error 2096 comes up on screen when trying to play iTunes from quick time says to uninstall tunes then re-install !! Started to happen after last upgrade from quick +iTunes and is frustrating as can't play anything ,is on Windows XP and was fine till now! Thanks in advance.

I have installed BO XI R2 SP2 in Windows 2000 Server.When i tried to open Designer or Universe Builder getting the below mentioned error:
" A problem was encounterd with MSG_en.bin.Check it has been generated."
Not able to open Designer and Universe Builder.
Pls help me in this regard.
