  • How to write initial installer for swing app

    Hi,
can anyone out there help me in writing the installer for an swing application which involves dowloading jars, external jars(third party) and some data files like xml etc..
how should i write the starting installer file for my app?
    Thanks in advance
    TSR

    Hi there,
We found the solution to download the external jars we have kept all the
external jars seperatly untouched and unsigned by us in a directory in webserver and in the main jnlp we are specifying the extension jnlp file where i am specifying the list of jar files will be downloaded to the client without any hic-ups of security check.
    Note:
    1) In extension jnlp file <security> tag should be omitted.
    2) In main jnlp file the application startup main class should have
System.setSecurityManager(null); as the first statement in the
    main() method.
    3) Place all the jars which are signed by you in the main jar file
where you need to put <security> tag with "all-permissions" value.
    Thanks,

  • Installer for Optional CS5 Photoshop Plug-Ins Crashes

I'm taking a class and the teacher advised that the Filter Pattern Maker is now an optional plug-in and advised to download the Adobe Optional Plug-In Installer. Got all that. But when I open the DMG and click on the CS5 Optional Plug-Ins.mxp, it shows a Macromedia Extension Manager with Dreamweaver 8 selected and immediately crashes, saying the Extension Manager quit unexpected. If I try to report to Apple, it won't allow it.
    I downloaded this item from:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4687
where the page is titled, Photoshop CS5 Optional Plug-Ins.
Your advice on getting this darn plug-in on my 2 Ghz Intel Dual Core machine running 10.5.8 would be appreciated.

    Hi Linda,
I sent you a private message in these forums. Click on the 'Your Stuff' icon above (shows when you're logged on) and then select 'Private Messages'.
Basically, I have a package that I can send your way, but need an email contact. I prefer you send your contact info privately so you won't get spammed. I would attach the package here, but the size is larger than allowed.
I'm not sure when the ETA for publishing the revised download to adobe.com will be. We had to change some documentation and that's being authored and reviewed. My guess is this week or next, assuming we don't run into any problems.
    regards,
    steve

  • Bring back Redbook CD burning for Audition CS5.5

Like I'm interested in opening a new application like iTunes to burn my CDs.  I have my own studio and use both Audition and Pro Tools, and Audition is my tool of choice for burning Redbook CDs.  I think Adobe has dropped the ball on this one.

As so many have already stated here, after years of using Audition, it was also a shock for me to discover that CD track markers and the CD burning capability altogether was removed from the new version! And on the FAQ page someone had the arrogance to say, "Other features, like CD burning, are not included because the majority of newly created content is distributed digitally, and inexpensive or free third-party CD burning tools, such as iTunes, are readily available." Wow.
First of all, it may be true that more content is being produced digitally and other CD burners are available, but many of us still produce commercial CDs for various markets (yes there is still a market for physical CDs) and have long depended on the ability to add track markers and burn CDs for clients directly from Audition. To remove this feature so casually and with such disregard for the needs of its long-term customers has really made me wonder about Adobe. For now, I'll need to stay with Audition 3 and just hope that this functionality is retored with version 6.
If not, I'll need to change to another program that allows this functionality as I can't imagine using iTunes or other such programs to burn professional quality CDs for mastering. Does anyone know if Adobe is listening to it's customers about this? I haven't heard anyone from Adobe actually say that the CD burning capability, with track markers, will be restored in version 6. So, if someone from Adobe development is reading this, I'm sure you have thousands of Audition customers who would like to know about this.

  • Adobe Audition CS5.5 Installation Problem.

The installer fails to initialize. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.

Since the installer failed to initialize, there is no PDApp.log. I am using the DVD. If there is a place on the Adobe website to download the trial version for Audition CS5.5, then I can simply use the serial number to register it. I have looked, but all I can find is the Audition CS6 version on the Adobe website. Thanks for your offer of help.

  • Where can I find the installation software for Fireworks CS5?

I am looking for the installation for Fireworks CS5.  I have the serial number but not the disk.

Read the instructions very carefully - all the steps must be performed in the correct order; if not, the redirect to Adobe's download page will fail.

  • Initializing Installer... and then nothing in Photoshop CS5 and Premiere Pro CS5

Hello. I have a pretty big problem, I can't install Photoshop or Premiere Pro on my PC. I get to the " initializing installer " part, it fills to 100%, then the window simply disappears. What should I do ? My OS is XP SP3, and I have enough HDD space left - around 50gb in C: and 550gb in D:, so this isn't the problem. Also, I don't have any old installs of Photoshop / Premiere Pro on my PC. As for the windows, I've just re-installed it last week, so I'm sure that I don't have any viruses or stuff like that. One thing that I must mention - before I re-installed my windows, I was able to install both Photoshop and Premiere Pro. I hope you can help me. Thanks

Photoshop 32bit should, but Premiere Pro CS5 will NOT install on WinXP... PPro CS5 REQUIRES a 64bit operating system to install
If you really need PPro CS5, you will have to upgrade Windows to Win7 64bit... the Pro version is most used for video editing
If you bought a CS5 suite, Premiere Pro CS4 is included for those with a 32bit version of Windows

Also, feel free to search in the forum as we may have already addressed the question for another user.

I, like the vast majority of consumers, am not a regular forum user. Anything Durin wrote would have been outside my scope of vision. I'm quite certain that the forum community is contributed to and read by only a VERY small portion of Audition users. I personally only came to these forums after I bought and returned CS5.5 in hopes that I could get across to the Adobe team the reason why I felt the need to get my money back. I've been using Audition (and CEP) for over a decade, and this is the first time there's been a release called an upgrade even though it has far less features than the previous version. Due diligence is great. That's why I read EVERYTHING on the product page, which calls this release an upgrade (despite it having less features than a downgrade to 1.5) and fails to mention the huge decrease in features. You'd think that'd be pertinent information to put up front and center on the product page.
I actually found that feature comparison chart after I had returned the purchase. I couldn't find it through on links on the actual product page though. It took a Google search. A feature comparison chart is standard on the product pages of most software. but Adobe had good reason to not make it readily available. In fact, there's not even a link to it in the ONE AND ONLY faq that mentions a feature reduction here: http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/faq.html. Faq stands for frequently asked questions. A quick look in the forum shows that there are certain other questions that are far more frequently asked than the ones that are currently posted in that faq.
Likewise, the FEATURES page mentions nothing of the missing features. http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/features.html
I value authentic and transparent companies. I should be able to expect an upgrade to be an upgrade and for any reputable company to inform me on the product page if otherwise. I practiced the amount of diligence appropriately due for such a purchase. Avoiding this would not have required due diligence, but excessive diligence, especially back in mid April, when I first pre-ordered the product.
    My suggestions:
Make it clear on the product page that this version is missing  A LOT of the features that are in prior versions and that have been a staple of the product line. This version may be quite good as a product of it's own, but not when it's billed as an upgrade to a product that had far more features. Explain more clearly that it's a rebuild and that it lacks many features.
Make the "feature comparison chart" a tab on the product page. It's more important than the current features tab, and more revealing than the reviews and faq tabs combined. Marketing teams should help people find what they want, not mislead them - through withheld information - into buying something they don't want. If the product is good, there's no reason to hide anything. A comprehensive reading of the product page will show anyone who's experienced this version that much of the relevant info about it is hidden.
Update the faq to address the questions that are actually most frequently asked, and not just questions that you want people to ask so you can give the happiest sugar coated answer you have up your sleeve. These questions should include:
    What features are missing?
When will the features be re-implemented? Update, or future version? CS6? When's that expected?
How do I open Audition 3.0 sessions in CS5.5 (while preserving settings)?
What members of the Audition clientele is this best suited for, and which users would be better off waiting for the next upgrade?
Durin has definitely been great in clearing things up for us. Of course, that took people asking! I think if Durin was in charge of marketing there'd be happier customers (and probably less money wasted on the poor customer service system). It's not that difficult to just tell about the product as it is, warts and all. If the product has value, then there's no reason to hide the facts about it deep in the site. Just tell your costumers, in bold writing on the front of the product page, who amongst them the product is actually best suited for - and don't try to mislead the rest!!

  • Silent Installation for CS5.5?

I've been able to get silent installation for the DPS tools to work fine for CS6 (v27), but I haven't found a successful method for CS5.5 (v27), aside from using JAMF's Composer to perform a file-system watch.
    The commands I've tried:
    sudo /Adobe/DPS/r27/cs5.5fp/Install.app/Contents/MacOS/Install --mode=Silent
    Starting Installer...
    In Silent mode.
    Installation successful.
    Exiting Installer with Code: 0
    sudo /Adobe/DPS/r27/cs5.5fb/Install.app/Contents/MacOS/Install --mode=Silent
    Starting Installer...
    In Silent mode.
    Installation successful.
    Exiting Installer with Code: 0
They always report that they run successfully, but don't seem to actually install anything. If I remove the silent flag, the installer will run, successfully, albeit with user interaction, which isn't desirable. Has anyone encountered a similar issue, or have a good way around it?

Although I already provided the solution privately I will post it here as well in case other users are facing the same problem.
The correct syntax for silent deployment is:
    sudo ./Install --mode=silent --deploymentFile="path"
    So for example:
    sudo ./Install.app/Contents/MacOS/Install --mode=silent --deploymentFile=deploy/AdobeDigitalPublishing-mul.install.xml
(the assumption here is that the user is in the directory where Install.app is.
From the command line you should see "Installation successful. Exiting Installer with code: 0.

  • Audition CS5.5 does not play any sound

    Hello to everybody,
I got a big problem with Audition. After buying a new Mac I imported the whole user to the new system. Nearly most of the Master Suite Modules work, but when starting Audition, it tells me right away that the audio hardware setting has been changed. When I click yes to open the settings, it shows me the audio input (mike integrated) and output devices (output integrated).  When switching to audio channel matching, the device channels are not found, the checkup failed.
I use MacOS 10.10.1 with Adobe MasterCollection CS5.5. Btw: Premiere does work properly, the audio and video is playing. Any other audio (Itunes, VLC...) do work as well.
Is there any additional program for audio setting within the CS5.5 installation?
    Thanks for any ideas.
    Arne

I can't give you details, as it's a Mac - but the chances are that if you have imported all of your Audition settings from a previous machine, that one of them is essentially wrong for the new machine. So even though the preference appear to be correct, they aren't.
To give you an idea though, the thing to do is to read this FAQ:
Restoring the default settings for Audition CS6
It's essentially the same as for 5.5, except that the final target directory may have a lower number (like 4...). I'd pay particular attention to the section at the end, just before Durin's extra comment - it's probably this file that's incorrect.

  • Adobe Audition CS5.5 Upsell from Soundbooth...?

Please, excuse any apparent ignorance on my part, but I've learned the hard way not to assume anything.
"Adobe Audition CS5.5 Upsell from Soundbooth" is $99. Am I to understand that if I own Soundbooth CS5, I can buy the "upsell" of Audtion for $99. Or am I misunderstanding something here?
    TIA!

    Hi Jay,
Yes.  If you have a license for Soundbooth CS5, you can upgrade/crossgrade to Audition CS5.5 for $99.  The Adobe.com FAQ for Audition goes into more detail, but the general upgrade path goes like this:
    Audition 1.5, 2.0, 3.0 - > Audition CS 5.5
    Soundbooth CS3, CS4, CS5 -> Audition CS 5.5
Production Premium & Master Collection CS 3, CS 4, CS 5 - > Production Premium & Master Collection CS 5.5
At least for the single products, you can cross request a license from Mac even if your old installation was for Windows.  I am not certain about the suites, but I'll look into it or you could call the Sales line directly as they may be easier to convince than a heartless, emotionless web page.

  • Audition CS5.5 licensing

    Hi
May I install my Audition CS5.5 on two PC's, f.ex. workstation and laptop?
    Thanks.
    /Ulf

    Hi, Ulf.
The Adobe licensing agreement allows for two activations on different machines with the intent that they are not in use simultaneously.  So you should absolutely be able to install and activate on a desktop and a laptop system.  You can also fairly freely swap activated systems by first deactivating from the Help menu on one installation, then activating on another.

    NEW REPOSITORY INSTALLATION ERROR!!
I want to install a new Repository using Oracle9iR9.2.0.1 and iDS10g on windowsXP Professional the same machine.
After running all the SQL scripts ( ckqa, ckvalqa, ckcreate, ckreport) with success to installing a new Repository on my Database using "the Scripts Method",I start the Repository Administration Utility( RAU) to scheck the priveleges and so on.
After pressing the Install button in the RAU:
    -I take public synonyms
-I scheck the box for "Support Designer Objects", then
    -The Repository size is Medium
-I have not change the defauft Tablespace of the Repository_Manager names TEMPORARY_TABLES to store the index and table of System Data....Diagram Data.

When I read the Help of the Error the
CAUSE was: Failed to find sufficient contiguous Space to allocate INITIAL extend for Segment being created.
ACTION: Use ALTER TABLESPACE ADD DATAFILE to add additional space to the tablespace or retry with a smaller Value for initial.
I then try to resolve it by schecking and changing the Values of INITIAL_VALUE and NEXT_VALUE in the ckparams.txt to 500k.I change the Values of TEMPORARY_TABLES(10214 to 51200k) and TEMPORARY_INDEXES from (20000 to 100000k).Then I run the scripts @ckparams.txt, @ckvalqa, @ckcreate but
-pressing the Scheck Privileges Button on the RAU still give me 106k for the INITIAL_ and NEXT_VALUE.
-And the installato still stop with the same Error.
Question: How schould I resolve this Configuration?
You could respond in ENGLICH, GERMAN or FRENCH
    Thank you for your Help!

You are running into database errors. You should refer to the database documentation on how to adjust the size your tablespaces. The online Designer installation guide will advise you as to the sizes of tablespaces you require.
