Initializing sync error on my macbook pro with BB 9300 3g curve

I have been using a BB since last 3 years and have been having my macbook pro since last 1 year.
Everything was smooth till June 2011 when I upgraded the bb desktop software to the (then) latest version, after which my phone contacts have stopped syncing.
It syncs all the calendar entries, but then stops syncing the address book (syncing with apple address book) saying that "could not initialise sync engine" and then just hangs for 10 minutes.
I have read thru 100s of posts and 3-4 forums but have not been able to find a solution.
My only saving grace is that i am able to backup my phone...so am not worried about loosing all data, but syncing is necessary...
Can anyone help !!!

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
I would suggest going to Device>Forget Device in BlackBerry Desktop Software. Then close down BlackBerry Desktop Software and unplug the BlackBerry via USB and plug it back in and re-open BlackBerry Desktop Software.
Then setup your synchronization again and then test it a few times.

Thanks for your help Brij011 - much appreciated. Apologies as I'm a newbie but I've looked at the info for synching and I appear to have all the switches flicked on my iPad. Does the iPad and iBooks only sync in iCloud for purchases as I appear to be doing something wrong. I could sync ok when books was in iTunes but since migrating to Mavericks I think I'm doing something wrong!!

How to sync Nokia phone on macbook pro with OS 10.7

I already use an iPhone 4 but sometimes like to use a simple phone next to it just for making calls and stuff. Now I think to buy a simple candybar Nokia phone (like C2-00 or C5 etc) which runs on Nokia OS. Hw can I sync my Address book and Calendar from my MacBook with this Nokia ?

i have tried syncing music on my macbook pro with my ipad mini, it shows on my computer that the ipad device has my entire music library on it although its faded but the music is not on my ipad when i look into my music apps. it says No Music. By the way this is music that i downloaded unto my macbook from my CD collection

- You can only sync with one iTune library but you can manually music music and vides with different computers. To do so go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.

Calendar frozen on Macbook Pro with Yosemite

Hi
When trying to sync calendars on my Macbook Pro with iPhone 4S, calendars has frozen with message "Moving calendars to server account". I have to force quit to get out. Syncing had been working fine until 2 days ago. All settings on Macbook and phone are correct.
Any suggestions?

Quit Calendar and also the Reminders application, if it's running. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data.
In the iCloud preference pane, uncheck the boxes marked Calendars and Reminders. You'll be prompted to confirm that you want to delete your iCloud calendars and reminders from the computer. They'll still be on iCloud.
Relaunch Calendar and select
Calendar ▹ Preferences... ▹ Accounts
Click the plus-sign button at the bottom of the account list on the left (which may now be empty) to add a new account. Select iCloud and enter your credentials. Your iCloud calendars should appear after a brief delay.
Do the same with Reminders.

Just one more quesiton re: this topic, I am looking to get rosetta but do not have Leopard or Snow Leopard...
I read that it is not on Snow Leopard only on Leopard....so do I need to get only Leopard? Can u advise?

My guess would be it has created an entirely new backup of your drive when you upgraded to Mavericks.

I tried to install the software via the HP website. It's not working.

There's info here on setting up separate libraries and user accounts. You won't have to reload (or re-import) all the music, just copy it.
The reason I suggest separate accounts on the Mac is because if you have the two libraries under the same user account, iTunes will also open the last library that was open in that account, and you'll always have to be mindful of which library that is. If you open iTunes and find it's not your library, you'll have quit, relaunch holding the option key and select the other library.
No, you won't have to log in and out of the Mac. (If I'm understanding your question here.) Multiple accounts can be logged in at the same time. And with fast user switching, you can toggle between user accounts.
I'll admit that maintaining the two libraries gets a little tricky, because if you share all the same music, you'll have to add it to one and update the other. (That won't happen automatically.) But I think Home Sharing makes this much easier to do.

There are many people suffering from this problem right now (including me). It appears to be a server issue. Just wait and try checking for updates again tomorrow.
Some things I have heard indicate that this may be a regional problem, though what parts of the world are affected I don't know yet. A few people have been helped by deleting the following preference file (paste the path into the Go -> Go to Folder window in the Finder to locate it), though most have not:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
Note that if you are trying to download iTunes 10.7, that can be found here:

Also, note that there is no reason to be anxious to get it, as the only thing added in iTunes 10.7 is compatibility with iOS 6, which will not be available until the 19th, and the new iPhone, which will not be available until later as well. I am using a MacBook Pro (2010) with 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5, 4GB, 1067 MHz, DDR3, Startvolume Macintosh HD.
After downloading the package and starting upgrading it asks acceptance of the license-agreement. After that it asks for the volume were to install. And when I click on the Startvolume Macintosh HD (which is the only available on the machine) it says: "The volume is already being used for Time Machine-Backups".
It doesn´t offer to skip that point or to reconfigure the Time Machine settings.
The point is that my Time machine is not and has never used the Mac HD for Backups. In the past I have used an external drive and since 05/2014 I am using a Time Capsule which is appropriately addressed in the Time Machine settings.
