Assuming you mean a an iTunes store purchase such as music, video or apps, the recipient does not have to have an iTunes account. However, they have to be in the same country as the giver. See the: iTunes Cards and Codes>Gift Options on the following site:

Since you are using one of the the school's Macbooks, it is quite possible that the time and date are not properly set on the computer that you are using. FaceTime will not work if you do not have the proper time zone set up for the location that you are in. This past week, there were a two other Macbook users I've helped by simply telling them to set the Date/Time properly. By the way, you described your problem very well, which makes it easier for us to help you. Hope this solves your problem -- if not, post back and I can suggest other remedies.

That version cannot be upgraded further if it's a 2G model. The 3G model can be upgraded to iOS 5.x.x. You can't have a 2G model because the maximum iOS version is 4.2.1.

If the device has the same Apple ID signed onto the iTunes & App Store, then you can download any apps purchased under that Apple ID to that device.
I thought you were asking about a game and game statistics being shared between two devices with two separate players. What I said about that is that if it is under the same ID, then the game is going to have the same statistics on both devices, and any updates to those would be reflected in both places. So, two different players wouldn't be able to have separeate statistics if they were playing under the same Apple ID.

I want to maintain Safari 10.6.8 on my computer and then install Maverick on a separate internal drive so I can run new FCPX software and maintain the older OS for my older software versions. Can you tell me how please?
I see an upgrade path from Safari but don't want to change that and would like to be able boot from Maverick when needed.

i currently have about 6 different groups listed on the iphone in my contact list section and i want to delete the old ones and create a new group for work puposes!
i dont want any apps all i want is something similar to my favourites list but in a group so i can just go into that work group and scroll to the person i need to call and this way seperating my personal and work contacts.
because i do alot of calls from my car i dont want to have to search my contact lists to find the right person i just want them all in a simple folder.
is this possible because if i already have groups on my iphone i should be able to delete the old ones and create a new one?Deleting groups on the phone and creating new ones is not supported with iOS4, you'll have to do that on your computer and sync again.

I had a windows laptop, and I save files like photos,documents, videos and other things on an external hard drive, and now I want tomove those files to the Mac book Pro, and then move those files again toanother external hard drive 1T. My question is: Is it possible? Doing this willnot affect the files that I had in windows? No information is lost? or how cani do it?
Connect the external drive to your Mac and drag the files from it to your Mac's internal drive. Then dismount and disconnect the external drive, connect the 1TB external drive, and drag the files from the internal drive onto the external. Nothing will have been deleted from any of the drives up to this point; the files will only have been copied. Verify that the files are readable. There's no reason they shouldn't be; this is just a precaution.
Now if you wish to delete the files from any of the drives, drag them to the Trash, and Empty the Trash while the drive from which they came is still connected. If you disconnect the drive before emptying the Trash, the files you were trying to remove from it won't be deleted. They'll remain in the Trash and continue to take up space on the drive.
Note that if your external drives are in NTFS format, you won't be able to write anything to them or delete anything from them, though you will be able to read and copy the files they contain. The NTFS disk format is read-only to the Mac OS, unless you have a third-party NTFS driver installed. To make your drives cross-platform readable and writable, you must reformat them in the FAT32 or ExFAT format. -

N97 mini - niggling issues I want fixed but can't ...
Is there some kind of nokia hotline I can call that isn't going to cost me?
I am facing a number of niggling little issues (Some i have posted on here with no reply). Biggest ones:
- Music purchased from Ovi music. If i leave the song on the music widget for a while then come back later and play it, it doesn't play. I have to select a different song then go back and select the song i want to listen to.
-The phone beeps every now and then. Not often enough to be able to time it but often enough to know it's happening. Could this be the exchange server updating maybe? I don't know cause there's noone to ask. This is particularly noticable when listening to podcasts as the sound on the podcast goes down, phone beeps then the sound comes back up.
These are the two main issues I am having at the moment and would appreciate any advice anyone has.
My other problems are Ovi Music software related (the pc one) so I will post those elsewhere. It seems hard to justify to everyone around me why I have a nokia and not an iphone or something. I really don't like the whole iphone thing but all these little issues are things that you don't get on other phones. Seems that nokia's have great hardware but really **bleep** software. Or is that just me?

J* beep * I have the same problem, already mailed Nokia support team and have no problem with ovi things because I don't use it. I also have no new applications installed or open programs, I rarely use the music features of the phone and only have Sygic Mobile maps 10 installed, but the beep does not come from that program since it is only in use while navigating and switched off to save battery life, no Bluetooth enabled, no gps in use, latest firmware according the SW-upgrade service. The problem came "out of the blue" and no other software is installed. Tried 2 different providers because I also own a HTC Touch Pro 2 with Hi and Telfort so swapped the sim cards but the problem still occurs. The beep also occurs when another profile like "silent" is in use. I am quite frustrated about it since it interrupts me my sleeping hours constantly. When nokia answers my question, I will translate it and post it here since I am from the Netherlands and probably will get a response in Dutch.

You might just have to contact Apple and ask them to remove it (losing it). Usually people clear a balance by buying one song and having the exact remainder charged to their credit card, but if you don't have a US credit card you cannot do that.

My old laptop crashed, and took my iTunes account with it. I got a new laptop, and want to sync my iTouch to iTunes. It gives me an error message stating that I can't sync to multiple iTunes accounts, but I can't access my old one!
How can I get my new iTunes account to allow me to Sync my iTouch? The only option it gives me is to "transfer purchases" from my iTouch to iTunes, but that is only about 25% of my iTunes library-most of it is CDs I have uploaded. How can I Sync without losing all my music from my iTouch???
