Initiating bpel workflows dynamically

I have two workflows. Workflow 1 should initiate Workflow 2. Currently I am creating a partner link in Workflow 1 and giving the WSDL location of Workflow 2 shown in BPEL console. This works fine in development environment. But its hard coded how to make it dynamic.
I want to make the refernce to the second workflow dynamic. How can this be done. Thank You

Delegation BPEL workflows as Admin

Hi,
Is it possible to delegate a workflow as bpeladmin (or any admin)?
There is a feature in Preferences in Worklist, where a user can set up rules to delegate his/her workflows for a period of time.
I want to check if it is possible for an admin to do the same for a workflow from the BPELConsole.
Also, is it possible to reassign the task instances which are already in initiated stage through BPELConsole.
My BPEL workflows are built in SOA 10.1.3.4.

Hi,
Found the way for this... We basically wanted the ADMIN to perform the workflow delegation. I was wrong in asking if this is possible from BPELConsole.. but the same was possible from Worklist.
By logging into the Worklist application as admin (oc4jadmin), one can see some the additional tabs. From the 'Manage Rules' tab, admin can delegate workflows for any user.

How to use xPath to extract a element from a xml stringin BPEL workflow?

I have a xml string passed into the BPEL workflow, and I need to extract the value of "serviceOrderGuid" (see the xml string below), how I can use BPEL mapper to do this? I am using NetBeans 6.0/M10.

How to assign a parent or child process to BPEL process Dynamically

Hi friends,
root_id (varchar) - the conversation id of the instance at the top of the invocation tree. Suppose A -> B -> C, root( B ) = A, root( C ) = A, parent( B )= A, parent( C ) = B. This instance, instance at the top of the tree will not have this set. There will be relation between ROOT_ID, PARENT_ID and CIKEY in the cube_ instance at dehydration data base.
Here I want to assign root_id or parent_id dynamically to my bpel process dynamically. Let me know if anybody knows about that.

I'm more puzzled as to why you would want to do this? As you have explained these columns provide details of the process tree. Why would you want to alter the values set by BPEL there by changing the process tree it created?

Classpath Error when deploying BPEL Workflow

I am trying to deploy BPEL workflow in my server but i encountered the following errors during the deployment :-

The class path setting is incorrect.
Ensure that the class path is set correctly. If this happens on the server side verify that the custom classes or jars which this BPEL process is depending on are deployed correctly. Also verify that the run time is using the same release/version.
However, it is working fine within my local JDeveloper suite, as I preloaded the classpath for my project. If I bundled the libraries (JAR files) in the SCA-INF/lib folder, then it can work well. but the file size will be big and not well-maintained.
May I know how can I set the CLASSPATH for this BPEL component within SOA Suite 11g running on Weblogic 11g? I tried a couple of ways, but still not working fine.

I have created numerous BPEL processes in JDev 11.1.1.5.0 which im trying to deploy to the SOA domain on Weblogic 10.3.4.0 however each time the same error appears:Did you check server log? Exactly which class it is not able to find?

Please check your XSD and dependant XSD's whether it contains any special characters.
I solved the same issue in my BPEL process by commenting the special characters included in <documentation> element of XSD.

Unable to update BPEL workflow task using pl/sql procedure

I am on a project which involves APEX/BPEL integration. There is a need to update a workflow task created using pl/sql block of code.
This uses the out of the box TaskQueryService webservice calls and I am getting the below exception.

As an alternative I tried to call the procedure from a Java client and it throws the same exceptions (the workflow context is gotten from the Java API call

I am on a project which involves APEX/BPEL integration. There is a need to update a workflow task created using pl/sql block of code.
This uses the out of the box TaskQueryService webservice calls and I am getting the below exception.

As an alternative I tried to call the procedure from a Java client and it throws the same exceptions (the workflow context is gotten from the Java API call

however updating the Task from Java using the ora.bpel library API's works perfectly fine.
But the client's requirement is to update taskoutcome from pl/sql.

Problems with BPEL API calling a BPEL workflow

Hallo,
i have copied my text from the Application-Server forum to this forum becouse here it is a better place for my problem.
I have a problem with the BPEL API. I try to invoke a BPEL workflow with the BPEL API. Up to the Point where i call the BPEL workflow with the command "deliveryService.post(processName, action, nm);".
When this command is processed i following error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/ejb/EJBException
It looks like i am missing a jar file, but in my Development tool an at the compilation i get no errors or warnings. Only when command above is called.
The initialization of the deliveryService works fine.
The only point i can image an error is at the definition of the jndi for the remote connection to BPEL. There i have following entry's:

ORacle BPEL WorkFlow SErvices

Hi,
I am currently trying to develop a workflow using Oracle BPEL Workflow Services. The process has a list of approvers and they are not part of any identity services be it jazn,oID or third party LDAP. I need to assign a task to each of the approvers sequentially.
I am trying to use TaskServiceInterface.wsdl to initiate the task and then receive the response and based on that use the taskrouting webservice and continue with the process.
However the users cannot be authenticated because of the reason mentioned in the first paragraph. Is it possible to create a workflow context without using login credentials?

I have created a custom authentication class which will authorise everyone. I followed the following steps.
1) Created the class that implements BPMAuthenticationService.
2) made necessary changes in the authenticateUser().
3) Created a jar out of the class file and deployed it to "C:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_2\bpel\system\services\lib" [my installation is in C]
4) added an entry in the server.xml to point to this library location
5) changed the is_config file to the following

Urgent Help :: BPEL Workflow Auto Release Error

HI All,
im working on a workflow project, i have 3 levels of approval process, first it will assign to one group one of the user pick the task assigned to this group, will act on this by claiming the task and then approve/reject the task. The approved task will move to a next group and the users in the second group will act on that similarly.
There is a auto release function available in the BPEL workflow. when the user does not act on a task for a particular time that will release the task automatically after a certian amount of time. but strangley the Tasks which are in suspened/completed are being released by workflow auto release function even though the users has completed the task it is bringing back the task to user.
i think auto release should work on only for claimed tasks when the user is not working with claimed tasks for a particular amount of time. but strangely this is occuring for the completed/suspended tasks.
can anybody got similar type of error.
please advise if this needs to be set manually/is it a bug ?

Custom BPEL Workflow and Content DB

Hi,
I am trying to register my custom BPEL workflow and trying to run from ContentDB default site, I can see that request in my request report but I can not see that process in BPEL Console.
1) Is there any place I can see logs?
2) Any good documentation apart from B31268-02 Admin Guide?

IMHO you did not solve your first problem. Because in first case you chose directly from routing service as target operation your BPEL process operation. And ESB wanted to execute that though RMI. Which has transaction support and is also faster. But your credentials were invalid. Therefore you got that exception.
After that you decided to use SOAP HTTP protocol, which is not transaction enabled and is slower :-(
In case you would like to use RMI, you have to change in your SOA Suite in this file:
<orahome>/bpel/utilities/ant-orabpel.properties
credentials for oc4jadmin user. After you update that, restart server.
And then it should work.

It is possible.
At the oracle open world, there was a presentation about it.
At that presentation they used a component where you could define a BPEL process and by one little line of code,you could call that proccess from within a stellent workflow.
I don't know if that component will be released or where you can download it. If you wish, i could send you an e-mail with the component and the doc so you could try it out

Invoking Custom BPEL Workflow from ContentDB DocumentReviewWorkflow

Hi,
I am trying to invoke Custom BPEL Workflow from Contentdb.
I can see TaskActionHandler and DocumentReviewWorkflow instance created in BPEL using BPELConsole. This workflow is waiting for approval.
When I am login to worklist application I can not see task assign to me.
Also I can see from database that Messages not read by BPEL Process Manager.i.e I can see rows in IFS_BPEL_OUT_TABLE
After restarting BPEL P.M those data is still there.
How to resolve this?

This sounds like two separate issues with the 10.1.2.0.2 BPEL PM.
First, I had a problem with the BPEL process manager not consuming the AQ messages sitting in the IFSQUEUE. In order to consume the messages, I had to redeploy the BPEL process. This sounds like your first issue.
The second issue is the case sensitivity within the worklist application. There is a patch for this #4962149. The patch did not work entirely for our environment and I opened up a separate bug but there was never a fix supplied by the development group.
