Initiating Photoshop CS4 batch from Bridge sometimes ignores RAW xmp settings

This happens a lot using both my work PC (XP 64) and home PC (Vista 64), but not always...and I have not been able to track down exactly how to fix this.
What happens is I try to launch a batch process for RAW photos taken with my Canon EOS 5D Mark II (develop settings already set in xmp files using Adobe Camera RAW from Bridge). The actions in the batch process execute correctly, but the resulting files appear to have completely ignored my ACR develop settings. This happens if I launch the batch process in either version of Photoshop CS4 (64 or 32 bit).
My only solution is to carefully watch Photoshop as files get loaded by the batch process and abort the batch if one opens without the correct develop settings (not always easy to discern...sometimes I have to wait for the process to save the file so I can toggle back and forth between the images in Bridge). I then restart Bridge and/or Photoshop until I can start a batch process that opens the image correctly. Once a single file has opened with the correct settings, subsequent files open as expected...so the rest of the batch process will complete.
Has anyone else seen this phenomenon? This is really annoying as it never happened to me in CS or CS2.

This sounds serious. I would make sure you have a backup on a seperate hd or disk or you photos and other documents. If the drive fails you may loose everything on the hard drive.

Bridge batch to Photoshop CS4 error from subfolder

Hello
I used to launch Photoshop scripts from Bridge CS2 using the "tools->photoshop->batch" menu. Now that I upgraded to CS4, I have an error message: "a general photoshop error appeared. This function may not be available in this Photoshop version".
But what is strange, is thas this error only appears when I work on pictures located in a subfolder of my second hard disc drived, called "data HDD". It works good from my system HDD, and from the root of my data HDD...
I tried to refresh Bridge preferences, nothing better.
I try to launch the scripts on the same pictures from an other computer through network, it works good...
Anyone has a solution?

What comes to mind is to use Apple Disk utility on this partition to check
and repair permissions and maybe run an app like Disk Warrior to clean up
the disk. If this is not working then try using Finder to create a brand new
folder and subfolders on this drive and still in Finder move the files with
drag and drop to those new folders. Let Bridge cache them again and try if
this works.
You might want to try it first with one folder and a few files if you have a
great number of files on this disk
My "data HDD" is a partition of an internal drive.

The window does not show, there is no error message? is Ps running? does it work from Photoshop? what kind of files are selected?

Strange Plug-In Behavior CS4 - Opening from Bridge

I think that this is the right forum, but it could be bridge instead. I've moved my Photoshop CS4 to my new Win 7 64 bit PC. I am having a very strange situation with my optional Plug-ins and Bridge. This us with the x86 32 bit version. When I open photoshop directly, by clicking on the Icon, all of my plug-ins are available. When I open it from bridge, by double clicking on an image, Only some of my plug-ins show up in Photoshop. I am bewildered. Can Bridge settings (or whatever) in Win 7 64 affect the Photoshop CS4 settings? Any help and / or thoughts are appreciated.

Mylenium - thanks. I also was suspicious of the tablet, but the tablet is not in use when this problem shows up. Nevertheless, I uninstalled the Wacom driver, removed the tablet connection, rebooted, and the problem persists. But, I did get a chance to install a new version of the driver (April 2009).
Like I said - strange problem. Since it doesn't crash PS, there's not much data. No error message, no stack trace.
One other tidbit. I still have the crop tool selected. If I load an image and place the cursor over the image window, the cursor changes between the crop cursor and the big white arrow. Back and forth. When it's doing this, if you want to use the selected tool, you have to click right when the tool's cursor is showing, otherwise you get the "bing" noise.

Merge to HDR Pro works from Photoshop CS5, not from Bridge

I have three nef files which I want to merge to hdr pro. If i have them open in PS CS5 and choose to merge them from there, all works. But if I choose the three in Bridge and use the Tools, Photoshop, Merge to HDR Pro selection from Bridge, all starts out well, but in the end, no HDR dialog box, just the 4 layers, one for each file and the lowest one the HDR layer, but nothing can be done with it since there is no dialog box. As far as I know the Abobe Bridge bridge is messed up these days for there is one Adobe bridge cc and two Photoshop CC and CC 2014 Mac can run two versions of Photoshop at once windows can not how the different bridge interfaces work I don't know. Bridge tools are set up with Bridge Startup Scripts. On Windows Bridge CC 64bit and Bridge CC 32Bit version both seen to use the start up scripts setup for the 32bit Bridge Bridge CC 64bit does not see what is in the CC 64Bits startup scripts folder. There are also problems on windows system registry for Photoshop shell commands Open and Edit. I do not use the Bridge often. Just use it to edit metadata and syncing batches of RAW File setting. Find your serial number quickly
You can activate software without following up and registering it... at least that was the case in the past. The serial number is normally located on the disc case or a box inside the main box. If you did not purchase the disc from Adobe then it is possible you would have dealt with a redemption code, in which case it would have been up to you to keep a record of the serial number, especially if you did not follow up and register the software.

Unresponsive cc photoshop opening image from bridge

OK, just signed up for the cc. I have just tried to open a PSD from Bridge into Photoshop and Photoshop opens, but the image doesn't load, and, and Photoshop is all locked up. What's going on and how do I get it to work?

I am trying to find the fastest way how to do it from Bridge. Now I make some basic corrections with all pictures in Camera Raw and then save them as... with same lower resolution for the web or preview purposes.

LR not getting labels and ratings from Bridge - SOMETIMES?

I'm starting to feel a bit masochistic 'cause I just keep trying to use Lightroom... But, there are enough things that are so much easier to do in Bridge that I still use it for everything but Lightroom's Develop module...
Anyhow, in Lightroom I loaded a directory of images (about 70). In Bridge I examined the same directory of images and rated some with 5 stars, and some of those with GREEN...
Back to LR... None of the changes show up. Looked around LR for something that would tell it to update the images in its library. The only thing I could find was the metadata/XMP/Import XMP thing, and that didn't do anything (is there something else in there that I'm just missing?). Finally, I DELETED the whole directory, and imported the images again. STILL no labels or ratings. I even shut down LR and Bridge and restarted LR to see if that'd help... Then did the metadata/XMP/Import again. Still no change.
Now I KNOW this has worked before, 'cause I've seen the images with the labels and ratings... Any ideas how come it refuses to work on these images?
BTW: If I change a label or rating in LR it shows up immediately in Bridge.

Tried that as part of the "how do I get metadata from Bridge into here" activity... On this set it still didn't bring in the changes... It may just be an aberation but its really bizarre to have different sets of images appear differently... But, since I just got killed by LR and its "Out of Memory" message I'm back to square one again anyhow.

Adobe Bridge in Photoshop - How to install Bridge and camera raw? And what is it all about?

Hi everyone! I am actually in love with this adobe photoshop. I used PSCS2 before, but later on upgraded to CS4. But I feel tired in upgrading to CS5.
One time, I found a tutorial in youtube about camera raw, and would really want to use it. But I was wondering how to install the camera raw. I believe camera raw is a plugin? so I downloaded the plugin here, installed it in my PS. I downloaded a file Camera Raw.8bi and paste it on my C drive - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS4\Plug-ins\File Formats.
I now am very confused, how will I open it? I do not have adobe bridge! After I installed the camera raw, I opened my PS. I clicked the file>then browse in bridge. I had an error, it's "error 2 photoshop11 undefined". Which is what I thought, I might have done something wrong with installing it.
My question is, do you still need adobe bridge installed in order to use camera raw?
If yes, how does it work? How am I suppose to open camera raw?
If no, how am I going to open camera raw without bridge?
And also, where will I download adobe bridge? I cannot find one here for CS4, only adobe bridge for CS5. I am wondering, is it okay to install adobe bridge CS5 and use it with my PS CS4?

WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) is a set of extensions to HTTP/1.1.
The main difference from FTP as far as I can see is that it allows you to edit documents on a remote web server.
WebDAV was used by the Apple server - MobileMe but is not generally supported by hosting services.
Using WebDAV you can mount a directory locally. This was how iDisk worked on your Mac and you could drag files onto it to upload them to the remote directory.
With WebDAV, a number of users can share a directory which is why its used in local networks but presents security problems when using a remote server.
If you are into file sharing rather than publishing, Dropbox or its new rival SugarSync are more appropriate.

Photoshop CS4 will not open Nikon (NEF) raw files.

I recently tried CS6 Suite. Trial was over and I went back to Photoshop CS4. However, it would not open Nikon (NEF) raw files. I uninstalled and re-installed the PS CS4. This did not fix the problem. Can anyone help?

Draging (copy) file from Bridge does not include XMP?

I do my RAW edits after backing up my files to external storage. Once finished I just copy over the XMP files. All's well.
Today I did it in a different way and dragged and dropped thumbnails from the Bridge browser directly to the backup drive folder (using the Windows file browser). I expected both the original (NEF) and its associated XMP file would be copied over. I thought selecting the one automatically selected both. But this did not work. Only the NEF was copied. Yet if I have a second Bridge browser window open to the backup folder, I can drag (copy) the same thumbnail to it (Bridge browser to Bridge browser) and the XMP is included in the transfer.
Is this normal behaviour? Am I missing a preference setting?
I would have expected that dragging a RAW thumbnail from the Bridge browser to a Windows file browser folder to include bother the RAW file and its associated XMP file.
