  • Error message on C7280 all in one 0xc18a0201

    Hi
Printer was working okay but after changing 2 ink cartridges, genuine HP products, I get the above message and can no longer print, copy or fax. Additional message is that the ink carriage has stalled. Following instructions to power down and back up again does not resolve the problem. Can anyone help please?

Peter Thank you for the information. Unfortunately the suggested solutions failed. The identified problem is that the optics are faulty which I find strange for a machine less than two years old and rarely used as a printer. Indications are that it would be more expensive to repair than to replace. Anyone who can provide a supplier of spare parts for less than £150 I would be most welcome to hear from. Alternatively there is a C7280 going for scrap unless someone wants ift for spare parts. Nigel

  • HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One , Mac 0SX 10.6.8 Error message:' pump motor stalled

HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One , Mac 0SX 10.6.8 Error message:' pump motor stalled' press (I don't recognise the icon!)
What is the button & what is the solution?

Hello, I don't have a floor model of that printer available and the manual for this printer does not mention the pump motor. But I would first try removing and reseating all the cartridges in the printer and power cycle the machine. If you are still getting that error message I would do a hard reset that involves removing the cartridges. No user settings are lost with a hard reset and it is a very common tool used to try to resolve a hardware issue with a printer.  To do a hard reset with removing the cartridges:
While the machine is powered on take all the cartridges out of the machine. Close cartridge access.
Then pull the power cord out of the rear of the Product, and then unplug the cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 20 seconds.
Plug power cord back into wall outlet and then back in the rear of the printer. It should power on by itself but after 10 seconds or so use the power button to turn machine on
Wait for printer to go through start up process and as it recognizes the cartridges are missing (the display panel will inform of missing cartridges) put them back in their slots.

  • HP C7280 All in One Error B042EBCC

My Photosmart Express HP C7280 All in one printer was all flashing lights last night. It would not power off with the power button, so I unplugged it. Now when I plug it back in it immediately shows "B042EBCC" on a blue screen and goes no further. There is also a little blue flashing light under the camera picture next to the slots for the photo memory cards. Any help with resolving this and getting me back to printing will be greatly appreciated.  Jere' in MS.

I recently had the same problem with an HP Photosmart C7280, the same model as yours. I eventually managed to get through to HP Technical Support, and they advised that the unit would have to be replaced.
Before calling technical support, I tried all the steps that have been recommended in various posts (the printer reset with *6, removing/reinserting ink cartridges, using a different power outlet in my house, etc), but nothing helped. To the best of my knowledge - and I really tried to get my printer working - the unit is dead.
(Although this is an old post, I came across it when trying to fix the same issue. So, hopefully this will help anyone else who stumbles upon this post. Some other codes my printer showed on the HP "blue screen of death" were B83FCB56, B0075110 and B02BAEC3.)

  • HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one problem printing. Ink System Failure has failed unable to copy--

I'm having a problem printing on my HP Photosmart C7280 All-In-One. The following message is what came up on the printer screen: Ink System Failure has failed unable to copy, receive faxes or print. Refer to printer documentation Error O.cl9a0007.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hey Spider! First off welcome to the forum.
I would recommend removing all the ink cartridges, unplugging the USB cable from the computer that connects to the printer, and then shutting the printer off completely by removing the power cord. Then restart your computer. Turn the printer back on but leave it disconnected from the computer. After it has finished its power on cycle go ahead and insert the ink cartridges back into the printer and be sure to seat them properly.
After you have all the cartridges back in the printer properly then connect it to the computer. See if this resolves the issue. If not post back with any findings.
    Thanks,
    SeanS

  • My C7280 all in one will no longer scan

My C7280 all in one will no longer scan to my computer. I get an error message that says "no scan options, refer to device documentation to troubleshoot". I have tried all I know. I have re-downloaded the origianl disc software numerous times to no avail. I have gone on line to download the software to no avail. I just get a message that states there was an error in the download.

  • HP Photosmart C7280 All in One installation problems with windows 8.1

    Hi,
I have a HP Photosmart C7280 All in One printer which was working fine on wifi with Windows 8. A few days ago I got the prompt to upgrade to 8.1. Following this the printer would not work at all, and I got prompt/warning message to re-install the printer software. So I went to the control panel and removed all the old HP software, and tried to re-install the latest one from the HP site...to no avail.
I have tried doing this a number of ways - manual download, downloading the HP software that determines what software is required, then downloads it for you....
It seems to start unpacking ok, but then gets stuck on 'Checking System' and never progresses to do anything else. Help!

    Hello Cam77,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I see that you are encountering difficulties installing your Photosmart C7280 printer after upgrading your computer to Windows 8.1.
I have included the Windows 8: The Progress Bar on the Software Installation Stops or Stalls document. It will walk you through the steps to get the printer installed.
Please let me know if you encounter any difficulties while doing the above. If you do, please let me know at what step things went awry and what any error messages said. Please also include how you have the printer connected (USB cable, ethernet, or wireless). Thank you.

  • Blue screen on c7280 all in one reads b851fe84. lights flicker on and off. will not turn off.

HP Photosmart C7280 All-In-One printer.  Operating system is Windows XP.  This has happened sporadically over several months.  A few weeks ago, I inserted new ink cartridges and that seemed to stop the problem.  Now, it has returned.  The on/off button will not turn the printer off.  The photo-menu, print photos, auto answer, on/off button, plus a light near the card slots all blink on and off.  The PhotoSmart Express displays a blue screen with B851FE84 written on it.  On occasion, I have received other blue screen messages but they appear for just a second or two.  I believe one earlier today was B01B17FC but it only appeared for a second or two so it may not be correctly recorded.

  • Photosmart c7280 All-in-one Network Issues

Hi, i was given this printer (Photosmart c7280 All-in-one) by my dad about a year ago it worked flawlessly for quite some time. However a few months ago we had a really bad storm and lost power and ever since then I have been getting error messages and my network radio has not been working at all. I am afraid that it might be fried but if i could have any help troubleshooting it at all that would be greatly appreciated! Also, i was reading some other help forum posts and tried to reset it (# and 6 while powering on) and it printed out a connectivity status report by itself. It says "The wireless network interface (Wifi0) is not functioning properly. This may be a problem with the printing device hardware." Again im afraid it might never work again but any help is appreciated! Thanks

    Hi,
Since you have tried performing reset and printer status shows as WIFI ICU not working, you can try connecting printer with an ethernet cable and use as a network printer.

  • Photosmart C7280 All-In-One & feed other than plain paper

I have a HP Photosmart C7280 All-In-One printer. This printer is supposed to be a photo printer however the paper feeder does not accept any paper other than plain paper. i have purchased some a4 heat transfer paper but the paper feeder does not pick it up. there ae options in the print settings to change the type and thickness of the paper being used but it seems useless. and there is no manual paper feeder so it renders this printer a basic plain paper printer which is to what it is advertised to be. it is part of my business that i am able to print on paper that is the thickess of glossy photo paper and cards for invitations which is certainly why i purchased this model. Any assistanve ou can provide would be greatly apprecited. thanks.

Sorry you are having this problem. I have  a C7280 and have printed from main paper tray on thick card-stock paper, photo pape, heavy greeting card stock and iron on transfer paper without any problem . I did not have to change any settings except the printing type (I normally use fast economical printing) and paper type (if appropriate) on the printer document properties page and printing shortcuts tab.I think you need to get on the live chat with a technician because you should not be having this problem. I have had good experiences with live chat.
The smaller photo paper tray works fine for me too with the special sized photo paper.
This may not help much but it shows the paper handling specs...

  • C7280 All-in-One connected wirelessly to a modem-router needs a password when powered-up.

Do you have any examples of wirelessly connecting an HP Photosmart C7280-All-in-One to a network run by a NetComm NB6Plus4W modem-router? The modem-router also attaches a Windows XP desktop computer using an ethernet cable and a Windows XP laptop computer wirelessly using the default SSID (wireless) and password (a1b2c3d4e5).
The wireless connection between the modem-router and the laptop comes up automatically when the modem-router and laptop are powered-up.
The wireless connection between the modem-router and the HP Photosmart does not establish automatically. When I power-up the HP Photosmart I then have to use the setup button on the Photosmart and manually type in to the Photosmart the password (a1b2c3d4e5). The SSID displays as wireless, it does not have to be retyped.
Do you know if there is any NetComm or HP configuration which will cause automatic setup of the HP Photosmart to occur when it is powered-up?
What I am complaining about is having to manually type in the HP's password to the HP whenever the HP is powered-up.

The information that i gave was based on the info you provided, and only told you what steps would work. Troubleshooting process does involve guesswork as the issue that you're facing could be caused due to many reasons, and doing each and every step is a process of eliminating all the possible causes and narrowing it down to one particular cause. If you don't like what I have to offer, then feel free to not follow it. Lets see how fast you can get it to work on your own.

  • Scan menu on C7280 All-in-One has changed

The scan menu on my Photosmart C7280 All-in-One used to have a "Scan to iPhoto" setting.  It has disappeared.  It will still scan but when the scans go is anyone's guess.  Can anyone help?
    tjhowell

Yeah, they used the software update to dumb it down by removing a bunch of options, including resolution, type of scan and ability to name the folder and file name for the scanned item.  Mostly made it useless - a big step backwards.  When mine dies it will not be replaced by an HP unit; I'll find something that actually allows me to control what happens with the scanner.  What a joke.

  • Blinking Lights on Panel on HP C7280 All In One Printer

What does it mean when all the lights on the pnel keep on blinking?  It is a HP C7280 All In One Printer.  And it does print fine.  I did talk to a Tech at Besy Buy who indicated that it is a major problem and not worth fixing. Please advise and thanks!
    Cheryl Saba

Hi Cheryl - Do you see an error message on the display of the printer?  One of the first things to do would be to reset the printer.  Try following these steps:
Without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product.
    NOTE:
The USB cable connects to the port on the back of the product. The port is labeled with the USB icon ( ).
Figure 2: Example USB connection (your product might not look exactly the same as this example)
Remove the cartridges from the product.
Wait for the 'Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.
Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
    Wait 60 seconds.
Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button ( ).
Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product.
If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.
Reconnect the USB cable to the rear of the product, and then try printing again.
Hopefully the reset will resolve the problem.

  • Since I installed Mountain Lion operating system, I cannot print.  I have a HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one printer.  I get a message when I try to update the software "Server not available  The software update service is currently not available."

After installing Mountain Lion, my printer doesn't work.  I know it is connected as it shows up,  The message is:
"The printer software was installed incorrectly.  Please reinstall the software for this printer or conact the anufacturer for assistance."
I used the disk that came with the printer as when I go to the HP site, it tells me that Apple has the drivers needed.  I unistalled the printer and reistalled.  Previously, I just went to the HP website an everything worked fine for drivers, program, etc.  I never had to use the CD that came with the printer.  My printer is:  HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one, it is wireless, but I even took the computer and plugged it into the printer to make sure that everything was connected.  Can someone please help me to get this working,
