The Forms Builder 10.1.2 is NOT supported to be installed on Windows 7. but u can technically accomplish but is considered NOT supported by Oracle. I do not recommend attemting to install on Win7. u can use Virtual Machine on ur own lap installing Windows XP instead cause The Forms Builder 10.1.2 is Certified and Supported by Oracle

oracle form 10g supports Only Older Internet Explorer Versions e.g. Internet Explorer 6 or 7 cause IE9 is not certified for Oracle forms but if you want to run form on higher as urs then u have to
1. replace the old jvm.dll with the latest version of jvm.dll ,*Warning* : although this is unsecure solution it works but on ur own risk
2.Download the latest Java Runtime Environment( JRE )Version Java 6 Update 31 from herewhich fits for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7
3.Modify ur formsweb.cfg save and restart ur IE finally try again
**But The most preferable solution if you have access to My Oracle Support, take a look at this document: How to Install Developer Suite 10.1.2.3 on Windows Vista (Doc ID 559067.1)
try to install the patch 7047034 via opatch on the client (Developer 10.1.2.3, Windows7 64bit)Otherwise Go back to 1 ! :(

Incorrect font displayed when running oracle form 4.5

Hi,
I created a couples of form using Oracle Form 4.0 . Now I
install developer/2000 v1.3.2 to use Oracle Form 4.5.
However, when I run my forms by using Oracle Form 4.5, all the
text fonts are not displayed correctly ( I use font of Helvetica,
with font size 14). If anyone know the reason, please tell me how
to fix this problem. I appreciate it. Thanks

if you really want to deploy the Forms as a Web (and so launch from a browser) you need to set up the Forms Server
and deploy your Forms to the Forms server. This will make the forms availabe by access from the URL
e/g/ http://machinename/virtual_directory/forms_file.html
the forms_file.html then points to the fmx you want to run.
However, if you want to set this up you really need to look at the documentation (see the online manual) or look at the white
papers on OTN.
I could be that you coul still launch the client server version from a URL but I am not sure this would really work (
what about lunching a .bat file from the URL and this bat file will countain the command line for running a form - that
way you can test it from outside the portal to get it working first).

How to display 4 graphs on the same graphs display when running the VI 4 times ?

My goal is trying to display 4 different graphs on the the same XY graph when I run the VI 4 times. Right now, the new graph will overdrive the previous graph when I re-run the VI.

You need a mechanism for storing previous data; LabVIEW graphs do not have a history, they display sets of data. A shift register is an obvious answer, but it can get somewhat "tricky" when the Build XY Graph is used as it accepts a DDT and you cannot simply append a data set using array functions...
The solution?
Rather than make the changes for you, I've created a simple example for a regular graph to show you how to use an un-initialized shift register to store values from previous runs (the data will be lost when the VI is closed) as long as the VI is in memory.
I'll leave the DDT conversion from the 2D-array and XY graph implementation for you to figure out in case this is some form of a homework assignment.

Not taking the PLL when running the form.

Hello ALL,
I am using forms 10.1.2.3.0 and oracle 11g. I am trying to setup a application (form) server in my local machine (Windows XP 32 bit). From the local setup I am able to excess the forms which doed not have any PLL attached, but if there are any PLL attached to the form and I am excessing the procedure from the PLL then it is throughing the error FRM 40735.
From this I found that it is not able to excess the PLL files at the run time. All the PLL and PLX are in the same path where my fmx are there. Also when attached the PLL the "Remove path" is Yes.
Can any body suggest any solution?

Try to put the path where your fmx's and plx's are located into the setting FORMS_PATH in your env-file (by default, this is $ORACLE_HOME/forms/server/default.env)

How to make first page to display when running the project

If u have more than one view.To define a view as a start view, you must create an outbound plug for this view.
note:For Create Outbound Plug or Create Inbound Plug. In
the work area of the Navigation Modeler, click once on the view for which you want to create the plug. It is irrelevant whether you start by defining an outbound plug for the start view or creating an inbound plug for the subsequent view.

Error when run the form from jdeveloper

Dear All ,
I am a beginner i OA framework and i run the hello world page from jdeveloper but it gave me the following error
"You have encountered an unexpected error. Please contact the System Administrator for assistance. "
what should i do to solve this problem ??

You can get that error for a mulititude of reasons...are you sure you've set up the environment for J-Developer correctly? Is your HOME set correctly? Are you running the correct version of the tool? Is the database connection correct? Did you test it? Do you have the correct Application connection? Do you have an APPS login to the correct responsibility? Does that work? Are you using the correct responsibility key? The list just goes on and on and on.

I am using oracle 10g form builder.
I am able to connect to database.
But When running the form I am facing an error saying TNS protocol adapter error.

Sarah,
At runtime the Windows Registry is generally not used. In Forms versions newer than 902 most environment settings are captured from default.env. Also, adding "LOCAL" simply gives you the ability to offer a default value which won't be displayed in the login dialog (or login string). This may not always be desired behavior. Essentially, this is just a cheat. It doesn't necessarily solve the problem, but instead just works around it.

Although what Sarah is suggesting might solve your issue, it might not result in the desired behavior. I would recommend you first isolate and correct the problem before implementing shortcuts. In your case, the error you are seeing is often (but not always) the result of not including the connect string (db name/alias) when trying to connect or the inability to locate tnsnames.ora. So, proving this first will offer at least two thing: 1) It will help you to understand how the logon process works... 2) It illustrates what caused the problem in the first place, which may be helpful knowledge if you see this problem in the future.
Recommendation:
1. Can you connect the Builder to the db? In other words, open the Builder and from the menu select File > Connect. Enter your username, password, and Database name
2. If you can connect from within the Builder, while still connected, open your form in the Builder and click on the Run Form button found on the Builders menu/toolbar. Your form should run. If the same error appears then the problem is not related to the inclusion of the db name, as the Builder would have passed that information when the Run Form button was pressed. In this case, it suggests that the tnsnames.ora file cannot be found by the Runtime. If this is what you are seeing, refer back to my previous entry regarding updating your default.env with TNS_ADMIN.

Scrollbars problem when running a form with Sun Java instead of Jinitiator

Hi All;
Our forms are configured to run with the Sun Java instead of
Jinitiator; functionality wise everything works fine, but when running
the forms on the web there are 2 extra scrollbars
(one vertical and one horizontal) in addition of the browser scrollbar.
Note: This is does not happen when running the same form with Jinitiator (same configurations)
Anyone encountered this situation or has an idea how to to get ride of the extra scrollbars ???

I was able to make all forms working without scrollbars when running form developer at the desktop (windows os) without scrollbars
but when I run them at the application server (Linux Red Hat 3 Enterprise), scrollbars are still there.
I tried your suggestion but did not help

Form not displayed when run- a large gray block

I am trying to debug an existing form (which I know runs in our production enviroment). I need to debug to see what is happening to investigate the scope of a potential modification.
My problem is that when I startup the OC4J container (no errors) and run the form from withing the Forms developer IDE, my browser launches (or attempts) and the form is nor displayed, only a 'large gray block' which I presume is the applet which should be launching my form.
I tried to place message, in the form trigger, when-new-form-instance and when-form-navigate in order to identify if that code is been called, but I do not get the debug messages.
I turned on edit->preferences->runtime->debug messages, and I get 1 debug alert 'please acknoledge message' when launched in my browser.
Based on the fact that I am not getting any errors and I am getting one debug message, I presume that I need to somehow explicitly show/call the form or something similar?
The form does have multiple canvases, which look like they are overlayed and controlled depeding on the form interaction. Does anyone have some idea to start helping me move forward with this?

In order to run a form on your workstation using OC4J, you have to have a compatible JVM installed - typically Oracle's jInitiator, but it will work using the Microsoft JVM as well (although, not officially supported by Oracle anymore). It sounds like you have the default set to use the Microsoft JVM. If you hover your mouse over the "Gray Area" do you see the message: "Click to activate and use this Control." Have you tried to just click on the gray area to see what will happen?
If you have installed Oracle jInitiator, did you modify the "formsweb.cfg" file to specify the Browser's JVM option?

Check the Module property: Console Window. If this property is null, then the Status Bar will not be displayed during runtime. You have to set this property for each form.

The "Splash.gif" is located in the frmall.jar file. What is it you want to do? Do you want to use a different spash image during application startup? If yes, you can display a different startup splash image by using the splachScreen= parameter in the formsweb.cfg file. The replacement .gif file must be located in the directory specified in the imageBase= parameter. Keep in mind that this file will need to be signed or you will get a security warning.
