  • Problem with inporting Flash buttons into Captivate

    Hello
I have tried looking around for the fix to this issue, I think I have seen the problem sorted, but not how they have done it.
The problem is that i have made an interface using flash, and inported the SWF into Captivate, this is just a simple pop up menu with buttons and hyperlinks. The issue that I have come accross is that when I come to close the pop up (inside the flash swf) if there is a captivate button behind it it will click this as well. I was wondering if there was a line of AS3 coding that I can add so that when the pop up is loaded it will disbale all the captivate buttons, mouse interactions etc.
Not sure if this should be here or in the flash forum, but as its a captivate/flash issue ive posted it here.
Thanks in advanced for any replies
    Nick

    Hi,
Download and install ActiveX if you use Internet Explorer.
You need to install plug-in if you use Firefox, Opera, or Safari.
The following link has step-by-step information: http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player- windows.html#main-pars_heading_5
Also, after installing ActiveX, ensure that you disable ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer. See the following link for details: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html#main_2__Disable_Ac tiveX_Filtering__if_you_are_using_Internet_Explorer_9_

  • Inporting Flash Objects

    Hi,
I've imported a flash file into dreamweaver, got it working
great no problems. The Problem i am having though is that the flash
object (550 x 550px) doesnt position flush to the edge of the
browser window, theres a white border to the left and at the top.
How i've got this site is that the main page loads into a 550 x 550
window containing the flash file but i want it so only the flash
document is visible in this window. Does anyone know how to import
a file and have it positioned to the edge. I've tried all the
    positioning properties.
    Thanks, much appreciated - Oli

Have you tried zeroing the margins, padding and borders on
    the body with
    CSS?

  • Flash video on linux

I am not sure if this is the right place to post, but here
    goes.
I need to include flash video on a cd. People using the cd
will probably not have internet access and the cd needs to run on
    linux.
Is there a way that I can include flash movies to run in
firefox without having a streaming server.
The only thing I can control is that the user will have flash
    player 9 installed.
I created a flash movie in flex and inported a flash video
file. This plays fine in windows but does not want to play in
    linux.
Any help would be appreciated. I have no experience with
video and flash video, so I am not sure if this is even
    possible.

if you get any further in this, please post here!
I am also interested in any vp6-encoding solution on linux!
    Thanks,

  • Flash 2004 MX will not import .FLA's into the library

I can't imagine why this is- but if someone has some
eperience here- I would be so ever grateful.
I can't get Flash MX 2004 to inport FLA files into the shared
library. When I select inport/into shared library I get an error
message that says flash does not recognize the .fla file type and
wants to know if I should let quick time see if it can recognize
    the file. "Use quicktime instead".
Here is what I have tried:
Reset the file types in File/Folder under control panel to
default- Flash- But all file types were already recognzed- -reset
was just a deperation hope and prayer.
Un-installed quicktime then tried to import- no
un-installed flash- reinstalled flash- tried to import- no
Installed newest version of Quicktime and then tried to
    import- no
Reverted to a prior system restore point- then
    Re-installed Flash - tried to import-no
looked in the registry but could not navigate to anything
    that resembled file extensions-
Flash saves FLA's and makes SWF's just as it should- opens
FLA's and sees FLA file types in the saved folder.
When I initialize the import/to library functon FLA file
types are not listed unless I select "all file types" in the file
types drop down- it does recognize SWFs
Flash did recognize FLA's until I played a Quicktime
Instruction CD. With no further action on my part, it quit
    importing correctly-
    No viruses are found
    ?? ideas
    Thanks
    -D
Any other ideas or work-arounds would be greatly
    appreciated-

Thanks Shane- but when I need to share a library file- I
select file/ import to library and that is where I get the error- I
was able to share Flash librarys befor I played the quicktime file-
and now- unfortunately FLAs are an unrecognized format. And I am no
longer getting the additional mesage "do you want Quicktime to try
and open them. Just a message that says "one or more files were not
imported because there were errors reading them"
But they open in flash.... which is what I don't understand-
something has happend that flash no-longer sees the fla file type
under the File/ Import to Library.
    -D
Yeah, that would have been a ton of effort... Hopefully a
little more clarification in the details...

  • Flash Builder 4.5.1 for Mac hanging/crashing during startup "Loading Workbench"

    Hello,
I'm having ongoing trouble with Flash Builder 4.5.1 hanging/crashing during startup.
Sometimes the following Terminal command fixes the issue:
    cd ~/Documents/Adobe\ Flash\ Builder\ 4.5/cascaded/308971/configuration/.settings
    rm org.eclipse.ui.ide.prefs
However this isn't a silver bullet solution, and sometimes the only way is to uninstall and reinstall FB4.5.
But this is a major hassle, especially after 3 or 4 times!
I am running Mac OS X 10.7 and have updated to FB 4.5.1 Premium and also installed Subversion/Subclipse as well as the BlackBerry PlayBook SDK.
Problems seem to occur when working in SVN projects.
I have also noticed that the Delete and Arrow keys and Right Click fails to work sometimes also.
Is there a way to reset / clear FB 4.5 Prefs / Workbench?
    Thanks,
    David Douglas

Delete the Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 folder from your Documents (assuming you don't have anything valuable in there). That seemed to work for me, as I don't keep my projects in there but there were some temp files that were breaking it. You'll probably have to re-inport your projects.
Adobe, I'm getting very sick of your (expensive) products wasting my time.

  • From .psd in flash

Hi! I`m new to Flash. I am trying to make a "story ",I can say. I made the background ,the ground etc. in Photoshop. And I inported them in flash. I would like to know how I can make the .psd or .jpg [as saved from photoshop] be editable in flash. Like making a road sign be a button that leads to a new area [I know how to make buttons] So I ask again, how do I import them to be editable in flash?
                                                                                                  Thank you for your support.

In Photoshop, separate each element to a unique layer. If you want one or more elements to show different states, then make each of those states as separate elements, each in its own layer. Save the Photoshop file. Import the Photoshop file into your Flash movie. Use the default settings: "Convert layers to Flash layers" and "Place layers at original position".
When imported the new Flash layers will be named the same as the layers in Photoshop, so if this will matter, then be sure to give the Photoshop layers useful names.
Once imported each layer from Photoshop will be a bitmap object in Flash's Library, and each item will show on the stage. Click off the stage area in the stage window to deselect everything. Then you can select each item individually and set it to be a movieClip. You don't have to make everything a movieClip, but you do need to convert those that you want to control it through Actionscript.
So, in the case of a stop sign, put it into a separate layer in Photoshop, then import the file, select the stop sign and make it movieClip, or a button object. Then you can use it as a control in your Flash movie.

  • Inputing a Flash swf in Fireworks Help

I am new at the process of  importing flash into FW. I am running into a problem of inputing a FL  (swf) movie into FW. Can anyone assist me in this?
I am not to  trying to do anything great, just place a created FL movie into a box  within my FW workspace. Everytime i drag and drop or inport the swf  file, it does not work.

    Hi,
You can make animated gifs in fireworks, but not import SWF files to then render as animations.
GIFs can be imported, just not SWFs.
Best part to design your site in fireworks, leave a space for the SWF, then render SWF from flash, and place it on your webpage when ready.
Go into flash publish settings and select the checkbox for .gif file rendering. After rendered try inporting that .gif file into fireworks. Might work like you want.

  • Can't upgrade to Flash Player 10

My neighbors computer is running Windows XP (Home) SP3, on
this computer they're using IE. I've been trying to install the
latest flash player and it keeps failing while trying to load
"C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\*.ocx" (I forgot the file name,
I'm assuming there's only one, if necessary I'll re-try so it fails
and I'll get the name). I have attempted everything on the list
    http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166
. I've ran the uninstaller, tried the .msi, ran the fixing
permission script, renamed the Flash folder in macromed (so the
installer would have to create one). I've even restored my computer
back to September 10, 2008 (the farthest back I can go). If I left
out any details, I'll try my best to provide answers.
    Suggestions?

Hi, you know that first response that was me the user got
messed up my user name is MACapprentice. What i meant do you have
any thing thats inportant to you. also when your waching a
animation right click hold it down and you might see player 10.
sorry if i dont make this clear. And it actually it was on my
    computer!

  • Export information from Flash

    Hi all
I just wanted to know if anybody knows if it is possible to
export timing information, from the custom graph animator or
general information of animation key frames to either an xheet, or
even to have the information to be inported to after effects. A
rough animation can be timed out in Flash then the timing
information outputed and imported to After Effects, either manually
from an xheet or from an automatic import.
any thoughts on this would be great
    Jeremy

You might want to look at the information about control references again. You pass a control reference to a subVI and that subVI will update the control as it executes. That is exactly what you are looking for. There have been numerous examples posted to the forum posted on control references but if you need another, here's a real simple one.

  • Help me:Flash CS3 cannot import AI format

When I inport the AI format, the software makes a mistake on
    the prompt:
    "unknown software exception(0xc000000d),location:0x7813892c"
    What meaning is this?

The problem is probably the card reader. VPC works because it is talking to the device directly and isn't using the Mac OS X USB mass storage stack. Back around 10.3, this issue started cropping up with certain broken flash readers, including my old one (do a search on this board for Zio). The cause is the fault of the device. Windows manages to avoid it by transferring data less efficiently in smaller pieces.
If you're comfortable poking around in Terminal, a couple of years ago, I built a workaround driver that might help (it's a copy of Apple's USB mass storage KEXT with a handful of tweaks). You can find that at
    http://www.darwin-development.org/flashreader/
If you try it, let me know if that helps or doesn't help. It will slow down all USB transfers, though, so if you have or are planning to buy any recent iPod, I wouldn't recommend this.
There's also a workaround that involves copying the whole flash card. Basically, it goes like this:
    1. type "ls /dev" in Terminal.
    2. You'll see a bunch of things marked /dev/disk0s3 and similar.
    3. Connect the flash reader.
    4. Repeat steps 1 and 2.
    5. Note the new entries in /dev. There will be one new "whole device" dev file (without a "s3" partition number) shown---probably /dev/disk1.
    6. Substitute that device into the following line in place of /dev/disk1. Be SURE not to mix up the if (input file) and of (output file) entries.
    dd if=/dev/disk1 of=tempimg.iso bs=512
    7. Wait for this to finish.
    8. Remove the flash card/reader.
    9. type:
open tempimg.iso (or double-click the file in the Finder)
    10. Import into iPhoto from the disk image.
    11. Eject the disk image.
    12. Delete the tempimg.iso disk image.
But the best answer is to replace the flash reader. I'd suggest FireWire, since I've never heard of any significant problem reports with any FireWire readers.

  • Adobe Bridge Buttons in Dreamweaver, Flash, and Fireworks?

    Hello,
Adobe says that the button to connect to Adobe bridge is in
every CS3 application. I can find it in Photoshop, Illustrator, and
even Contribute, a former Macromedia project, but none of the other
Macromedia projects (Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks) have one. Am I
missing it, or is this a glitch?
    Thanks,
    Dylan

Go to Edit > Prefs > Enable Version Cue. Once you do
that look in the lower left corner of the flash
application - you should see "Open" with an arrow. Clicking
on it will popup "Reveal in Bridge" button.

  • MSI Forum HQ USB flashing tool!!!

    Hi guys,
We the forum team have developed  a new way of flashing.
You no longer need a floppy or anything, just an USB-stick.
The tool has been tested together with MSI and as far as we have done our testing, there are no problems at all.
As long as the USB-stick is FAT or FAT32 formatted!
However, flashing is allways risky, so if it goes bad it's your own fault, but that goes for all flashing you do.
This tool is intended to flash MSI retail motherboards and laptops,
but if needs you can use any other machine to prepare the necessary stuffs and the USB stick there,
before move the USB stick to the msi product that you want to flash.
The way it works is simple: Download the package and download the BIOS from the MSI website that you want to flash.
    The rest is straight forward.
Make sure that your board is set to be able to boot from USB.
So turn on USB Legacy Support in the BIOS.
Boot and press F11 to get the boot-popup and select your USB-device to boot.
(some boards have a different key, like K8N Master uses ESC for the boot-menu)
What ever you do, make sure you read all warnings!
The forum nor MSI is responsible if it fails for you.
Nor is this software supported by MSI technical support!
Please report problems/buggs if you find them.
    currently supported OS ( both 32 & 64 bit):
Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 (also Windows in Virtualbox under Linux!)
    (all kind of versions)
NOTE: If you are having problems getting your USB device to boot correctly, you may need to format it correctly as the geometry data may be incorrect. You can do that by pickup option "Fix My USB key" from the Tool or by using >>> THIS <<< tool here! For future usage you can skip this step, it need to be done only once if your stick need adjustment.
This topic is for discussion of and help with the USB flash tool only. If you have a problem with your PC and need help then do not hijack this topic, please start your own new topic in the correct area of this forum!

    Hi Max,
"This file is a antivirus testing program? "
yes, the latest version accidentally really become a test for any AV....
in latest 1.13b Avast! no more report false positive,
but all others AV software starting reporting a different false positive results:(all AV listed didn't report false positive problem in a provisional version) Avast! was fixed and no more report the false passivity and passed, but all other AV software started to be a lot confused...
Kaspersky Anti-Virus - Proactive Defense Warning: Riskware detected.
    Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2nd ID - Backdoor.Win32.Iroffer.af
    Dr Solomon's:  probably found Zafi.D.Virus

    Dr.Web: Trojan.Blakhal

Just to clarify one more time, all things listed are false alert coused and exist in latest version only due Avast! fix.(1.13b)
didn't continue to test with rest of AV...
only Avast! and NOD32 report no problem detected.
in 1.13a all false positive listed above doesn't exist, but only Avast! report false positive.
Hoverer, the wave of false positive mess has been resolved along with Avast! false positive as well.
    New version is ready, 1.13c:
    - fixed false positive wave which confusing most of AV software. (all AV do not report any problems anymore)
    - fixed 3 minor bugs:
           * after finished work the tool do not quit normal as expected and hang instead, that happend in x32bit OS only when used has been asked for reboot and answered with "No". e.g. in described specified case.
           * 4th mainboard filter report positive results in some Biostart mainboard and this cause tool to false ID some Biostar board as MSI one.
           * added missing drive letter as USB key choice ("I")
Download location in a the 1st post of this topic.

  • Flash 12.0.0.77 plugin installs to wrong folder

    In Vista x64, using either Firefox 28 or Firefox 24.4 ESR, the plugin installer (one downloaded from Adobe distribution) installs the 32 bit .dll file to \system32\macromedia\flash\ folder;
installs the 64 bit .dll to:  \sysWOW64\macromedia\flash\  folder.  So, they're exacly reversed.
I uninstalled it completely - went well.  Then removed 1 remaining file in one of the above paths, then reinstalled.  Did the same thing.
Before I did all this - I was *very sporadically* seeing the FlashPlayerPlugin_12_0_0_77.exe file, running (kinda "sitting") in background, in task manager.  It never came to foreground w/ a UI, asking for anything.  Couldn't figure out what it was, until started looking in the installation folders.
That's what lead to discovery the files were in wrong folders.
    Anyone heard of this?
BTW, "Nayana" of Adobe Support chat, is a few bricks shy of a load.  Or I am.  I couldn't create an acct for forums.  She kept saying, you don't need an acct - "just post your question.  Other people will answer it."

EDIT:  Seems there's no error in Flash installing to wrong folders, only error in my brain.  Why didn't someone stop me from embarrassing myself?
System32 (in a 64 bit OS / architecture) is for 64 bit drivers, files; SysWOW64 is for 32 bit apps running in 64 bit OS.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WoW64
WoW64 (Windows 32-bit on Windows 64-bit) is a subsystem of the Windows operating system capable of running 32-bit applications and is included on all 64-bit versions of Windows
    Also, http://www.samlogic.net/articles/32-64-bit-windows-folder-x86-syswow64.htm (section on SysWoW64)
    End Edit.
Thanks for info on attaching images.  A bit different than most forums.  There's no "preview post" before submitting?
Screenshots of the 2 flash folder contents.
NOTE:  I attached full FlashInstall.log earlier.  I opened the 1.25 MB (text) file in an editor - copied contents to clipboard > paste to forum reply screen.  Immediately locked up Firefox like a big dog.  Couldn't perform any functions in Fx - not even reload or close browser.  At same time, Fx memory use was continually climbing; to nearly 2 GB when I killed it.  Won't make that mistake again.
Been many yrs since Fx locked up, doing anything.  That aside, Adobe is definitely "different" than most forums.  Almost like a person w/ no $ to use one of the many forum softwares available.
