Input chinese characters in Forms 6i

Hello,
We are able to type the character to notepad,MS word using chiangje. but when type in forms 6i, this becomes "?". However, I am able to copy and paste this character from the notepad to the form properly. wanted to ask if there are any other settings needed to input this character properly. This will occur to some characters only. the character is part of the iso10646 character set. we use american_america.utf8 for our nls lang.
you can try to type "hdbsp" using chianje.
thanks in advance!

What characterset are you using on the client? And what database characterset are you using (as you probably would want to store them in the database too)? Are you using 6i in client/server mode or in web?
cheers

  • Bold 9700 V5.0.0.593 Read/Input Chinese Characters?

    Hi
I used to be able to read and input chinese character on my Bold 9700.
Few days ago, I connected my device to the desktop manager and it prompted me to update my device os to V5.0.0.593 (Bundle 1022, Platform 5.1.0.147). Ever since then, I am unable to read or input chinese characters.
I've read through the forum, did whichever I can find, and crashed my blackberry a few times as I think I loaded some 3rd party modules. I managed to wipe out the whole device and reload EastAsia pack (which I did at least 3 times) but am still unable to have my chinese characters on.
Pls advice what else I can do.
    Thanks!

By the way, it does not have the 'Simplified and Traditional Characters and Font Support' under the Application Loader...

  • Problem inputting Chinese characters in oracle forms

    Hi,
We have a Chinese character: UCS2=7A4F (UTF8=E7A98F) If we try to input it to a control in a Forms application using chanjie (key sequence h-d-b-s-p) input method, it becomes "?", but if we input it using same method in word or notepad, it shows correctly and can then be copy-and-paste to oracle forms.
Is there some sort of implicit conversion of Chinese character input done by Oracle Forms controls such that it is unable to decode this character properly? Or is there some sort of setup that can be done to bypass this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, hopefully as soon as possible.
    Thank you very much.

  • Chinese characters in form input

FormsCentral appears to permit me to enter Chinese characters into the form template itself.
It seems to permit only Latin characters to respond to the form.
Is that a limitation of FormsCentral, or is it a function of the language for which the browser or computer are set?
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Just wanted to post a quick update. We just expanded our language to support 12 new languages. You can read more here.
We support Japanese, but we don't officially support Chinese/Korean though they should work in most cases.

  • Why aren't handwritten chinese characters showing up in applications?

I'm on a 13" MacBook Pro, running OS X 10.9.4. I have activated [Pinyin - Simplified] in my input sources, and I have activated the option for TrackPad handwriting. Typing the pinyin and choosing the right character works fine, but I haven't been able to input chinese characters into any document via the trackpad writing method. I am able to pull up the "slate" thing, write, and choose a character, but the character just doesn't show up in the application. I've tried it with TextEdit, Word, and Safari.

  • Viewing Chinese characters in old Palm Desktop in Mac OS X 10.5.8?

    Hello.
My client used his old Windows 2000 SP4 Dell PC for his Palm Treo 680 desktop, Hotsync (backups too), and Palm Desktop with English and Chinese data (characters with CJKOS -- http://www.dyts.com/en/products.html ). He finally switched to his 3+ years old
MacBook Pro with updated Mac OS X 10.5.8 since Palm finally released software for it compared a few years ago. However, Mac's Palm Desktop, iCal, Addressbooks, etc. do not show these Chinese characters.
Do you know how do we display Chinese characters in these program? Other programs like Office 2008, Firefox v3.6.25, etc. show and input Chinese characters just fine. I know we have to use TwinBridge CJK/Chinese Partner v6.0 in Windows 2000 SP4 to show them so I assume it is similiar for Mac OS X. TwinBridge doesn't seem to have a Mac OS X product port. Is there a similar program (free preferred)?
    Thank you in advance.

Hi, no idea what Palm uses, but on Mac Apps might do a Get Info on them & see what Languages are checked...
The languages options were greyed out and could not add languages, so I had to log into the administrator-level account to add but Finder asked me where which I didn't know. I only saw the common/popular foreign languages (French, Spanish, and German) for Palm Desktop. No Chinese ones. I tried Apple's Address Books, and I saw Chinese and they were checked in non-administrator account. I guess that's not the problem.

  • Printing Chinese Characters in Smart Forms

    Hi,
Iu2019m trying to print Chinese characters via smart forms. However during print preview or print, all Chinese characters are showing as # symbols.
I have researched and implemented for some possible solutions posted in the forum like:
a.) Setting the regional language control panel.
    b.) Activating the multi-byte function in I18N.
c.) Checked the output device is SWINCF.
d.) Control parameter language is ZH (Chinese).
Unfortunately it still doesnu2019t solve the problem. Any input is highly appreciated.
    With regards,
    Marc

    Remark following basics:
    Forms:
Language of the form must be: "ZH".
Due to a SAPNOTE only font family CN* (CNSONG etc.) is mapped.
For frontend print, you must install chinese true type on you local PC and print via "CNSAPWIN" .
For backend print, you must install neccesaary fonts in your printer to the resident fonts. You must use a printer like "CNHPL4" or so.
For PDF archiving, you must upload truetype fonts to application server -> basis guys.
    Cascading Fonts:
If you mix different subfonts to unicode areas, you must use CNSAPWINCF.
Until now, only frontend printing is available.
    Note:
Spool created for back end print with print preview is only a simulation of getting a picture of the output created with front end technology. So it can differ, when the printer does not have the resident fonts.

  • Issue Regarding Chinese characters In Smart Form Print preview..

    Hi All,
I am working on a smart form development for chinese users. The requirement is the user will login using English & when the delivery will be issued for output, a check will be done on the country of user. If that comes as china then the international version (C) maintained for that customer will come as output.
Now the problem is even if I login using EN or ZH the below issue I am facing always.
In the database I can view the details in chinese properly by logging in as ZH. During debugging also i checked the data from table ADRC & MAKT is coming in chinese properly. But when i gave the values to be output in SmartForm, it is showing the characters like how it will look if I login using EN & view the table contents.
When i view the data by changing character set as Simplified Chinese then in table i can see chinese texts properly. But when the same data goes to print preview it shows the chinese characters like as it would appear when character set is Unicode or West European..
    Please help..
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear,
print preview and physical printout are two different things.
    PrintPreview:
The data stream will be sent to the frontend and rendered with windows-fonts etc (for backend prints a simulation).
    Printout:
Frontend: You need a printer, that maps the character, you have to use SAPWIN or SAPWINCF when using cascading fonts. The rendering will be done in the windows spooler.
Backend: Your printer needs also a mapping (look like something with UTF8). Also the printer needs the fonts installed because the rendering will be done in the printer!
If you use the pdf-printer in SAP, you need to upload all necessary fonts (TTF) for the pdf-composer. Also you need a unicode pdf printer for that.
    Regards,
    Christian

  • Printing chinese characters on a Zebra printer using Adobe Interactive Form

    Hello,
We have created an Adobe Interactive Forms in SAP with some words in English and another one in simplified chinese. We have defined a Zebra printer in SPAD with the AZPL203 driver.
When we print the form in the zebra printer some of the chinese characters are printed and some of them no.
Has anyone faced the same problem?
    Thanks a lot
    Miquel A. Vergara

    Hi,
Welcome you post on the forum.
However, this is not the right forum for you. It is only for SAP Business One user. Please search entire forums first to find which one is more proper.
However, this issue may not be related to SAP at all. Search on the web would be better.
    Thanks,

  • When calling report in forms, only html format can show chinese characters

    To all experts,
When I run report by calling run_report_object() in forms, only html format can show chinese characters. If I choose pdf format, garbage characters were shown instead of chinese characters. My settings on server are as follows:
    NLS_LANG=TRADITIONAL CHINESE_HONG KONG.UTF8
    FORMS60_REPFORMAT=PDF
Do you know why? I hope to print report in PDF format as PDF turned out to be more regular in format. Is there any additional settings required?
May experts here broaden my mind?
    Richard

Assuming that you are using version 6i, try using Oracle9i Reports it has support for multi-byte in PDF.
By the way, Reports questions will get better response if you send them on the reports forum.
