Input field in report output

HI EXPERTS,
               I am taking input from user in my report output then I wil save it to my ztable. For taking input I have used follwing code.

I Copied the Standard Program RCOPCA02 to ZRCOPCA02. I added two new fields(AUART, AUGRU) in the report output. It is executing correctly with default layout, While Changing the layout for displaying new fields it is dumping.
I am not understanding, What should i do...

Do not display field in report output using ALV

I have a dilemma here. I sorted my report using a dummy field named asset_dum. now, this is my basis of sub totals but I do not need to show it in the display. Is there a way or an option to do this?

Hi,
The problem with NO_OUT is that if the user changes the layout he can see the field and there is nothing in the system that would stop him from displaying the same.
However TECH field should be useful in your case.
TECH
If this field is set, the relevant field is not displayed on the list and cannot be shown interactively. The field is only known in the field catalog. (For example, it must not be specified as a sorting criterion).

The radiogroup is based on the deptno.
I specified break on "First and second columns".
This results in the radiogroup also being suppressed on the repeated rows!
Is there a way to suppress only the readonly report fields and show the radiogroup on every row?

Actually, suppressing the radiogroup is fine, but the real problem is that when I check the Sum column for say the SAL column as in

I have tried option for conversion to CHAR & printing in Output, the issue I face is when I export to Excel I am getting an ABAP Error CONVT_NO_NUMBER(Short Dump)-This dump is due to conversion while exporting to excel.

You can set it using user--profile I guess.
For own data go to

There you can select the currency format.

I don't think that you are get the F4 functionality by pressing F4, but maybe if you use a hotspot you could achieve it. Check this sample. When you click on a company code in the list, it fires the F4 help defined by the program.

Output of one report is input to another report?

Hi Expert's,
Is it possible to use output of one report as an input to another report.I mean to say fields which are avialble in the first report is used as a input for another report.

Hi,
Yes, you can do that.
You can run a first report having characteristics as output. You can then use the returned cahracteristic values as input variable for a second query.
You can achieve this by creating a replacement path (based upon your first query) variable in the second report.
Another option would be to use the report to report interface (RRI).

How to control field length in SAP query's report output

HI everybody,
I have one scenario in SAP query in which there are two fields in the report output:
Milestone descrition and milestone description Long Text.
In CJ02 (WBS element overview), these two fields are populated with some text.
If description is exactly same as LOng text, long text is NOT getting displayed in output.
If long text is having more characters than description then only long text gets displayed in the output.
Do we need to change infoset or query settings? I haven't handled SAP query programming before.
PLease give some suggestions how to achieve this or I have to write custom report.
Any inputs on this will be highly appreciated.

Validation of data in editable ALV report output for particular field

Hi Experts,
I have one input enabled field in ALV output. How to validate the data once user enters in that field and press enter? Is it possible to capture the value, hit the enter after user enters the data?

1 First you should registeer the ENTER Event.
call method g_grid->register_edit_event
               exporting
                  i_event_id = cl_gui_alv_grid=>mc_evt_enter.
2 Declare event handler method for Event data_changed of cl_gui_alv_grid.
handle_data_changed
         for event data_changed of cl_gui_alv_grid
             importing er_data_changed.
3 Inside the Event handler method , you get the event parameter er_data_changed type ref to CL_ALV_CHANGED_DATA_PROTOCOL.
loop at er_data_changed->mt_good_cells into ls_good.
      case ls_good-fieldname.
        when 'FIELD1'.
          call method check_FIELD1.
        when 'FIELD2 '.
          call method check_FIELD2
      endcase.
    endloop.
4 Inside the Method check_FIELD1 and check_FIELD2 you can do the validation check .
call method er_data_changed->get_cell_value( Passing the row no and field name).
if the check fails you can use add_protocol_entry to write the error.
5 Finally call
er_data_changed->display_protocol.
