Input multiplexer settling problem

NI Multifunction Cards have often a multiplexer before the A/D converter, which allows scanning multiple channels. NI observes that the settling time of this multiplexer may cause problems, especially when an input signal has a considerably higher amplitude than the nearby signal. Here the setlling time does not allow fast scanning because this results in "noise" on the smaller signal due to "memory" of the large one.
Is there a known solution to this problem ?
I tried to keep source impedances around 1 KOhm as suggested by NI, but this did not yield to a complete solution, rather to a slight noise reduction.
Is there a known way to use multifunction NI cards for input scanning with no inherent noise channel-by-channel ?
Thanks a lot

Marco,
There are a few solutions that can help with the charge injection problem. The optimal solution is to decrease the impedance of your sources. The smallest source impedance is ideal. So, if you have sources at or above 1 Kohm, it would be good to use a unity-gain buffer to decrease the source impedance.
Other solutions involve increasing the inter-channel delay of scanning and/or grounding channels in between channels to allow the multiplexer to discharge. I have linked a couple documents below that go over charge injection in detail and the viable solutions.

    ================================================================
Field Cost Ctr is a required field for G/L account 1400  Z0110201
    Message no. F5808
    Diagnosis
The value for field "Cost Ctr" in the interface to Financial Accounting is an initial value but you are required to make an entry in the field selection for G/L account "Z0110201" in company code "1400" linked to the field selection for posting key "50".
    System Response
    Error
    Procedure
It might be an error in the configuration of the G/L account field selection. The initial application, used to call up the interface must otherwise define a value for field "Cost Ctr". If this is the case, contact the consultant responsible for the application used to call up the interface or get in contact with SAP directly.
    ======================================================
we know the cost centre is required on our GL. we also passing the GL entry on that GL with Cost center & WBS Elemenet.
    Thanks

    Hi
Try with this go to posting key field status if cost center is mandatory make it optional.  Before doing it analyze the business scenario why cost cetner is made mandatory for posting key 50. There should not be any problems further

  • Multiplexing Error Problem vs. Best Quality

I've been trying to make the .img file for a 29 minute iMovie which consist of 288 photos + beginning and end. I imported the 288 photos at 5 sec (no burns effect), created chapter marks, added audio and was able to create .img OK using Best Quality, as that's what I've always used in the past - many times. I added 4 sec subtitles to about half the photos which meant it created a second photo 1 sec long. When I tried to create the .img again, I got the multiplexing error. I've tried all combinations without success, UNTIL I tried Best Performance, and it created the .img file. I have over 40GB disk space, but only 786MB memory. All photos in iMovie really slows down iMovie after about 40-50 minutes worth, so I'm guessing memory availability might be an issue. I've done all the other things usually posted - run Onyx, delete iDVD.plist, restart before burn, etc. So why does a 29 minute iMovie of all photos create the iDVD .img file on Best Performance and not on Best Quality????. Suggestions appreciated. Thanks Terry
Power Mac G4 1 GHz Dual   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

The size I gave on the photos was before they were imported to iMovie.
One of the problem photos was a scanned photo using a Canon N1240 scanner, which has since died and the other was with an Olympus D-450 digital camera. Both were edited (size, cropping, color, brightness, etc) in Adobe Photo Elements V3. Most of the time I import the pictures (in groups) into iMovie using the Import command, but sometimes I just drag them in. I do NOT use iPhoto. I've done several thousand photos this way (my wife is into genealogy)and I have created multiple DVDs of current family and family history. The problem photo had been used in other DVDs without problem. In one test I ran on this particular movie including the two problem images, the .img file was created OK until I added subtitles to each image in iMovie. I've sometimes had problems editing subtitles in that it deletes the image and adds the title to the next image. I do an Edit UNDO and then move the image to which the title is to be edited over 2 images, click the update and then move the image back to it's original position when update finished. It's annoying, but works. Don't remember if I did a title edit to the problem images or not. I think you're right in that one of many things could have happened when the image was imported. Right now I'm thinking something may have gone wrong when I added or edited the subtitle. Just wish the iDVD and iMovie error codes could be made more specific so it would be easier to identify and fix the problem photo(s). Thanks for your response. Terry

  • Input text field problem

I am VERY new at this...I'm following directions in "Hands On
    Training Flash 8 book...
When creating an input text field the book instructs me to
embed the font using the embed button that is in the Property
Inspector...When I do this and test the movie there is no cursor in
the text box and I am not allowed to type in it..
If I do not embed the font then when I test the movie the
input field works. I click on it and get a cursor and am able to
    enter information.
Is the book I'm using wrong here or is there something I'm
    missing? Thank you.

    Hi Nirnalatha,
I have newly joined this forum and while going through the
posts I came across your post which I thought I could help out. But
I think I am too late for the reply.
I am also into Flashlite development couple of months from
    now. Coming to your questions:
    1. Textbox problem: I am surprised to know that E70 mobiles
(Device central list has E70-1 only) does not show input text box
when cursor is in input box. Anyways its a good thing that you dont
get an additonal input box. Like all J2ME applications you will be
able to type the text inline. Infact we had reverse problem where I
was told to create inline edit input box instead of flashlite input
box. I think this is the mobile setting. Check the device features
in the Adobe Device Central under Flash - Standalone player - Text
and Fonts features. It will be mentioned whether inline text is
    allowed or not.
    2. Soft keys issues: You need to use
    fscommand2("SetSoftKeys", "Previous", "Next");
and use a key listener in order to override the Mobile
Softkey commands. Check out the flashlite help which clearly
    explains this.
Hope I have given youa way to solve ur problem.

  • SD mass input of settlement rules with LSMW

    Hi Experts
I am looking for a type 'fast entry' screen in adding settlement rules missing in old documents.  Profitability has not been maintained for some 4 years and there after some 50 000 errors where they are missing.  I want to do an LSMW but it seems to complicated on VA02 as it is always another item number etc.
Do you know of an entry screen with Sales order number, item number, received type, receiver and full settlement please? I will use this in an LSMW.
    You help will be appreciated.
    Kind regards
    Dawn

If you can do it manually, then you should be able to do it through batch-input.
Suggestion is quite obvious, but maybe it will help you.

  • Co-product actual settlement problem

    Hi Gurus,
I have a co-product problem. We have ML active.
We are going to use production orders in PP side but REM scenario in CO side. Under this condition is co-product usage effected?
Another problem is this, we have not a certain ratio between primary product and co-product. In the apportionment structure a ratio can be defined. With the creation of the production order, these ratios are going to be transferred from the material master to settlement rule.
During the production process, as I said before, the ratio is not realized, there are variances from the ratio. At the end of the period when we want to settle the order, the ratio is stable in the settlement rule. In other words, it is not actual, just planned ratios.
My question is this: Is it possible to change settlement rule during settlement in the base of realized production (101 movement type) quantities? How can we provide this, otherwise the result is not true in terms of actual costing .
    Ahmet

    Hi
I thnk you can specify a % in your settlement rule along with Source Structure

    Hi!
Whenever I try to input a hex integer by readLine method
of BufferedReader and parse it I get a NuberFormatException . Please tell me a solution?

    Hi...
Have you tried using the static method decode in the Integer class?
I don't know if this is where you're goign with this problem but try this (I assume you read a line, parse it, and then stuff the hex number string you want to decode into a temporary String variable)
String tempNumber = //your BufferedReader readline stuff here...
    try {
        int hexNumber = Integer.decode (tempNumber);
        //do futher processing here
    catch (NumberFormatException e) {

Mow there 5 line item which was posted in same period Now we want to settle only 3 Line item.
We set the Settlement rule and we run the settlement process now it settle all the amount those posted this period what we do it is production system problem.
    Please help me.
    Regards,

    Juhi,
Can you send me the following screenshots at the email id attached to my business card?
    1. Configuraiton of the investment profile used in the internal order
    2. KOB5 screenshot of the internal order in question.
This will enable me to help you futher.
To your question on any problem if the rule is deleted. there should not be any problem. Settlement rule changes are pretty standard process which people do. One may have to change a rule or delete it. It poses no threat as such as far as I know.
Also I would suggest you to simulate the scenario in your QA system. That would give you a lot of insight.
    Best regards,

  • Input help selection problem in SAP GUI screen

    Hi All,
We are using a SAP GUI based transaction for one ESS service. In this service, we have a input field. This field is defined as dictionary field And its picking F4 values from dictionary.
Now we have a problem here.
We have to set this field as mandatory(set in fields property using screen painter). Everything was fine, just before we did testing
When user host this service, for above mentioned field user get to see one "?" mark. When user does not select any of the entry provided by F4. user gets a message "please fill mandatory field" and input field contains first entry from F4 help.
Now this is very confusing, so we want to avoid selection of this entry.
if any of you have faced similar problem ??
    any suggestions here.

    Yes Sudir ,
We also stopped a bit at this point.
Wht we did is impemented all the mandatory checks at module pool itself and throwed status msg by using Message class.
Now if a user leaves any mandatory field , the status msg will point  the filed he left blank ..
But Cursor won't point to that field .

  • Input monitoring echo problem

An unusual occurrence happens 40% of the time when a new track is initiated. A new Audio track, while monitoring the input signal on a dry guitar with or without plugins on the track, will exhibit a single echo on every note played. At first I though it to be latency, but the timing is relatively long between note and echo. To fix I have to close the song then re open.
    Any thoughts or fixes.
    Thanks

I have a similar problem, although I'm on Logic Pro 8.
I can't seem to record my guitar track (mic'd cabinet) without having the result monitor back through my studio monitors unless I turn off software monitoring in Preferences/Audio. But then if I want to record keyboards direct and listen to what I'm playing, I have to go back in and turn the option back on.
In Sonar on the PC, this was much more intuitive. You could arm a track for recording by clicking the "R" button, and separately toggle monitoring on and off by clicking the little speaker button to the right. You didn't have to constantly fiddle with the program preferences.
I have a FireWire410 interface, and the monitoring only happens when Logic is loaded. I would have thought that the little "I" icon was to turn monitoring on and off, but it's some "pre/post-tape" toggle I can't find a use for.
Kevin, how did you control your monitor mix before?

  • Optical digital input (S/PDIF) problem (sampling rates)

I have a huge problem with my 2009 iMac's digital input that I didn't run into on my older MacBook running the same OS (10.6.x), and it's driving me nuts!
Basically, I'm trying to record a digital feed from an ADC hooked up between my hand-built tube amps/turntable and my iMac, with the goal being the transfer of some of my LP records to 48/24 LPCM for archiving and editing. The ADC's output rate is fixed at 48000Hz and cannot be changed. My iMac, however, refuses to lock on to the device rate, instead forcing 44.1kHz in the audio/midi setup. In fact, I can't get it to do anything but 44.1kHz on anything I plug in (even my DAC's passthrough) despite the fact that I need to use 48kHz. The audio is correct for a few seconds, then forces back to the wrong rate again. No matter how many times I try, the computer insists on using the wrong sampling rate, which has rendered impossible any hope of using my iMac as an audio recorder.
I've tried setting up an aggregate device, but to no avail. Nothing I do seems to work, and since the problem is with Core Audio, any program used to catch the audio records gibberish. Is there a way to force Core Audio to use 48kHz in the terminal? It's not like the computer can't do it, as I get about 2 or 3 seconds of correct audio when changing the sampling rate manually. I just can't get it to stick!

Seeing the exact same thing here. External digital source is 48kHz, and this Mac Pro Desktop will only stay on that setting very temporarily (for about .10 or .15 seconds) then it reverts back to 44.1kHz. Even if I don't have a signal or even a Toslink cable plugged in to the input.
(I'm surprised you are getting 2 or 3 seconds of correct audio, when I'm getting about 1/10th that before it reverts back to the wrong sample rate. Maybe related to a buffer size option somewhere?)
I have tried every known option to reset or re-configure this, and even to the point of creating a new user, resetting PRAM, resetting SMC, etc. I was going to try upgrading to 10.6, thinking maybe it was a 10.5.x problem, but now I'm not sure that will help.
Had I the choice to set the setting to be 48kHz and lock it in, it should stay on that setting - (even if the chance exists that what I'm getting is not correct.)
More often than not, I know what I'm doing more than Mac OS does, and I want to force it to do what it needs to.
There really needs to be a "do it because I told you so" option for most of the Mac audio configuration system. This automatic "the hardware decided to do something for you" stuff is absolutely horrid for a system that is marketed as "Pro". A real "Pro" system would let me edit the configuration once, with the tool (text editor hopefully) of my choice, rather than attempting (and failing) to automate things.
+1 for another instance of this being "a huge problem" and "it's driving me nuts!"

  • [VIA] Just need some input on a problem I have

I need the experts on this forum to help me with a problem I have. The M/B (6590 KT4 Socket A) had a few problems a while see. Since that time I have not updated my PSU as advised  so I expect some abuse for that  .
Any way I managed in the to fix that problem as you can see. However a further problem occured which was that the PC ,at will , would restart - this ended being the reset switch which I disconnected and this has never happened since. Now I have another problem !  .
The PC will simply hang with no response at all.  It seems only to happen when I am running the capture software. I have checked for updates and applied these to the program (hauppauges WnTV). This set up was running on another PC with a M/B (in my opinon) of inferior quality without a problem (I have since sold that PC).
I will admit I have not run the PC without this program running to see if that is the cause. However I just needed input on suggestions. My PSU is as I said earlier the same as before which is an X Pro 400w these are the shameful Voltage rails :
    +5v = 35a
    +12v = 20a
    -5v = 0.5v
    -12v = 0.8v
    3.3v = 22a
    5+VSB=3a
Also when the PC hung I got the following readings from PCAlert:
    1.76 Vcore
    3.3v = 3.26v
    +5v= 4.97
    +12v = 12.24
    CPU temp = 44c
    System temp = 38c
I must admit that the previous PC had a separate USB2 (which is how the Happauge unit connects) card whereas this PC I use the onboard card. I was also thinking about the RAM as it was one I bought from a computer fair (hears groans) - This is  normally something I do not do.
    Help input would be appreciated

look on the PSU label for the Max Combined Watts 3.3v & 5v and post what it says
    KT4 doesn't have a 4pin 12v connector, right? so that board depends on 3.3v and 5v rails
    The Max watts are 210Watts

While waiting for the experts, three things come to my mind:
    - IRQ problem, most often some/the card is in the wrong slot.
    - Graphics driver, most often you have updated too far.
    - Memory problem, most often mixed, but could also be there are things/drivers meeting in the memory that doesn't like eachother. If you have a lot of Autostarting thing that could be the reason, like a CD copying program and the capture program.
It cannot be an IRQ conflict as the Capture card is USB2. Graphics card has up to date drivers. Startup software on this PC is no different to the preivous apart from PCAlert4

"...It seems only to happen when I am running the capture software..."  Have you tried another program system intensive demanding ? If you have done, and nothing happens, it would show that the capture device/driver is giving problems. Is that USB device self powered or takes it's power from USB port ? It's running at USB 2.0 speed ? 22 A to 3.3v. rail is poor for your Mobo.  You should post your complete PC specs.
I dont really have any other software than can do that. The USB device is powered by itself.
    PC is as follows:
    AMD 2100+
    1 512mb ram
    2 HDD - 1 80gb Hitachi 1 120gb hitachi
Nvidia Geforce mmx 64mb ram Graphics card

Make sure that the pathway to were you want to save the captured video is set correctly. I believe you can set the Audio quality and the Frames Per Second (FPS) and I think that you can set the compression, If in doubt try it without compression and see if that works. I too have a TV card and it seems to me that you are having a config problem. Hope that helps.
The location where the files are captured to is to the secondary drive which is the 120gb
    Hope thats enough information

  • Settlement problem

    Hey guys,
I am creating a settlement profile to settle costs from a work order to a G/L account and a cost center. Initially the cost center is coming from OKB9 , I want these costs to settle to the G/L account entered in the settlement rule and the cost center from OKB9 should be credited and the cost center on the equipment master ( in the work order) should be debited.
Currently I am able to do this If I enter a cost element in the settlement profile and enter a cost center on the settlement rule of the order.
How can I get the system to determine the cost center from the equipment master? I will manually enter a GL account in the settlement rule of the order to get it to settle to the G/L.
