Inputting letters, output numbers
I had for the second time this situation:
All my Keyboard shortcuts disabled (such as apple Q)
if writing an email address I get numbers instead of letters.
At first I thought it was some kind of conversion problem, but I then compared this to the ASCII code and it doesn´t even fit.
any ideas?

Shooting in the dark here, but two things you might check:
What language is set as your operating language in System Preferences?
Do you have either of these (faulty) fonts:
Helvetica Fractions and Times Phonetic
in which case trash them.

How to control (the input and output) EXE file after I call it using exec?
Hi,
I knew that I can use runtime.exec() to call one EXE file, and this works. But this EXE has two characteristics:
1. After this exe starts, it asks user to input number such as 1 or 2 onto computer screen, then press return. Then the exe will start the calculation.
2. after it starts calculation, it prints 3 columns of numbers onto the screen.
My two questions are:
1. How to use java to input the number such as 1 or 2 automatically? this EXE can not work like this in DOS command line:
C:> file.exe parameter
The parameter is the number such as 1 or 2 that I wanna input.
2. how to redirect the 3 columns of numbers from computer screen to txt file?
My colleague can solve these two questions using Mathematica. So I know that definitely there is at least one solution for it. I just can not do it using Java. This wierd exe file bothered me a lot and I really wish that I can get help from someone in java community.

TonyWhen you call Runtime.exec, you get a Process object. (I presume something similar happens when you use ProcessBuilder.) Process has methods with names getOutput, getInput, and getError. These correspond to the standard input, standard output, and standard error streams of the spawned process.
You can read and write to the process on the streams corresponding to input and output that the process writes to the console.

In fact, you should be grabbing and reading the output/error streams anyway, because of the points raised by the Traps article. Google "Java Runtime exec traps" and you'll probably get a link to this JavaWorld article, which describes common Runtime.exec problems and how to solve them.

Oracle jdbc driver: sort order between letters and numbers

I am facing a very strange problem with sortering of data between letters and numbers.
I'am executing the following SQL request:
SELECT nummsg FROM CWD01 where nummsg = '00000001' or nummsg = 'AAAA0001' order by nummsg
When this request is executed with sqlplus or SQuirreL, I receive the expected result:
NUMMSG
00000001
AAAA0001
When I execute the following java code:

How to set the input and output of a subVI
I am trying to configure a subVI by following Chap. 7 of "LabVIEW fundamentals". But I stuck at "Building the connector pane".
My subvi is quite simple, just for testing purpose. I plan to do a summation and display the result. So I placed one numeric Add icon on the block diagram and a numeric Indicator on the front panel. I built a connector pane with three terminals, two for input and one for output.
But, how could I associate the terminals on connector pane with inputs and outputs of terminals on the block diagram? I wanna build a subVI, whose input are two numbers and display the summation on the subVI.

use the right mouse key as often as you can in LabVIEW. It´s very helpful. If you right click on a link in the connector pane, then you can select to disconnect selected or all.

I have subscribed crativecloud prepaid. I am prompted to enter the serial number. The displayed in my Adobe ID serial number contains letters and numbers. In the input mask for the serial number but the letters are consistently not accepted. What can I do

I have a 2007 iMac connected via WiFi. It has been working fine until I turned it on after a recent vacation. Network Preferences indicates that it is correctly connected to my WiFI system but the data input and output rate is virtually zero. I know that the WiFI signal is reaching the iMac since both my iPhone and iPad are working perfectly at that location. I have rebooted the router and the iMac to no avail. Hi, I tried to set up a new output audio device on my mac that would have multiple outputs (iBox Twist speaker and my internal speaker) but when I went to click onto one of the iBox Twist (there were 2 options available: iBox Twist and iBox Twist Stereo), Audio MIDI Setup crashed and when I finally got that back open, I found that there were no audio input or output devices to be found. My sound is working, as when I turn on my iMac, the starting sound still plays, however the volume control in the menu bar is no longer a black colour, but grey and when I try to change the sound on my keyboard it does not change. This already happened to me once, and after 3 hours I managed to fix it very simply (switching off Mac, unplugging power cord, leaving for 15 seconds, plug power cord back in and switch Mac back on, holding Alt, Cmd, P and R keys until you hear the Starting Up sound twice) however this same technique that fixed it once before is not working this time and I am still stuck without sound. I have tried Repair Permissions, rebooting in Safe Mode, Hardware Test and checking for Software Updates. Has anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it?

Switch off Mac
Switch back on in Safe Mode (Hit power button, then hold Shift key until a loading bar appears at the bottom of the screen).
Switch off Mac again
Remove power cord and wait 15 seconds
Plug power cord back in and hold down the keys alt, cmd, p, r all at the same time until you hear Starting chime for a second time and hopefully your audio will back. -
How can I use a different driver for audio input and output?
I did a search of course, and came up with something about an aggregate. I have no idea what this is, how to do it, or if it would even work for me.
What I am trying to do is:
1) Record into Logic Express using my Tascam US-122.
2) Have playback come out of my computer sound system, not the Tascam.
If I go over to the Audio setup window, I can only record when the driver is set to Tascam US-122. Likewise, I can only listen to sound when my Built-In Audio is selected. It gets rather annoying going between the two.
So, would this aggregate thing solve my problem? If so, how do I do it? Thanks for any help!

Then when you return to logic, go to the Preferences>Audio>Drivers section and select Aggregate Device as the new driver rather than either the built in sound or the tascam. Then the inputs and outputs will apply to BOTH devices. -
SSIS: How to use one Variable as Input and Output Parameter in an Execute SQL Task

i need your help,I'm working on this issue since yesterday and have no idea how to deal with it.
As I already said in the tilte i want to start a stored procedure via a Execute SQL Task which has around 15 prameters. 10 of these should be used as input AND output value.
As an example:
i have three Variable:
var1 int 2
var2 int 100
var3 int 200
the stroed procedure:
sp_test
@var1 int
@var2 int output
@var3 int output

BEGIN
SET @var2 = @var2 * @var1
SET @var3 = @var3 + @var1
END
So in the Execute SQL Task i call the Stored Procedure as follwos:

(I use an OLE DB Connection)
The parameter mapping is as follows:
User::Var1 input numeric 0 -1
User::Var2 input/output numeric 1 -1
User::Var3 input/output numeric 2 -1
Now my problem. If i set Var2 and Var3 as Input parameter the values are still the same after running the package. If i set them to a output value the are both Null because the procedure doesnt get any values.
I already tried to list them a second time - like
User::Var2 input numeric 1 -1
User::Var2 output numeric 1 -1
or i use a new variable
User::Var2 input numeric 1 -1
User::Var2Return output numeric 1 -1
but i alwas get the error
"Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors. Check each OLE DB status value, if available. No work was done."
Has anybody an idea how I can solve this problem?

I have around 15 procedures called one after the other to calculated and modify my values. Each procedure is responsible for an other but overlapping set of variables. So i thought it would be a good idea to call them one after the other with the needed variables via a execute sql task.
So if i use a result set, how i get my stored procedure to return 10 values? I would have to use a Function instead of a procedure, wouldn't i?
As if i have 15 procedures this would be a lot of work.
But thanks a lot for the idea. I think an other idea would be to create one function which calls all stored procedures and returns all the calculated values as a result set, wouldn't it?.

How to use a bluetooth cellphone for audio input and output
Hello, I was wondering how to set-up my Mac Book so that I can use my bluetooth cellphone for audio in and audio out. Ideally, I would like to use my handset for talking on iChat and Skype. Has anyone had any luck doing this? When I bond my cellphone these optiosn do not appear. I know that this is easy to do on a Windows machine but I am not sure about how to do it on my Mac Book.

I downloaded ios 7 to my wifes ipad 2. The only problem was, with the new system the letters and numbers on the keyboard became so streamlined that my wife had trouble seeing them because of a eye problem. Is there a way to get the old keyboard back and if not how do you uninstall ios 7?
I had thought this situation was solved but it just got worse. In addition to being without service for several days I am now being charged a cancellation fee for a broadband service that BT disconnected in error. BT Vision was also terminated by BT but the set up charges are still in place. Does anyone know who the relevant Ombudsman is? I called BT from America on Friday - for an hour - while someone called Aruj sorted out why there is an order 'in progress' that I didn't initiate; why I have fees relating to a problem created by BT and why there are references to a house move that didn't take place and a BT Vision service I no longer have but didn't cancel myself. He assured me it would be rectified and my bill would be reduced by 139 pounds and we would get confirmation of this later that day. I asked him what chance there was that this would not actually happen - he said no chance at all; my new bill would be 23.50.
There was no text message. An online chat person today told me there had been a fee reduction request which had been declined and there was nothing else he could help me with as he dealt only with broadband. But he would get BT Vision to email me. They always seem so helpful.............
I'm sure I'm listed somewhere as 'a problem', there's no other explanation for why I get the runaround -

With useful help from Jamie Hodge, fbm and Nicholas Stokes (mainly)
I could manage to write a command for inputting and outputting from Final Cut Server Annotations.
So lets go to the fun part:
INPUTTING:
1- Create a Response called "Annotations IN" (or whatever you want):
a - Reponse Action: "Run an external script or command"
b - Run Script > *Commnad Path: /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Server/Final Cut Server.bundle/Contents/Resources/sbin/fcsvr_run
Command Parameters: psql px pxdb -c "COPY pxtcmdvalue FROM '/FCSRV/annotation-in.txt' USING DELIMITERS '|';"
2 - Create a poll Watcher with name: "Watch for Annotations IN"
a - Enable: true
b - Monitor Address: Chooses a Device (create a new one or use a tmp one) and path to where you`ll going to put a txt file with the annotations.
c - Response List: Choose the Response you created "Annotations IN" in my case.
d - Event Type Filter: Created, Modified
e - Poll Watcher > Listing Frequency: 2 (or any number of seconds you feel like it).
Listing multiple: 2
Wildcard include Filter: *.txt (or any custom extensions you want)
3 - Create a txt file and use this as a template:

Where:
{ASSET_ENTITYID} = Is the entityid of your asset. You can find what number it is by issuing:

This will output ALL your assets, so if you know the name or want to parse the name you can use:

Where in ASSETNAME you`ll have to put your Asset Name without extension.
{TCIN} and {TCOUT} is, of course, the TC`s points. In the form of: HH:MM:SS;FF
{Annotation} is the commentary.
{USERID} (in my case was 1)
{DATE}: This one is tricky. My example is 2009-03-15 19:31:15.839795-03
So is in the form YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS.????? I really don`t know the rest. Could be milliseconds?
Of course one can write a script to translate everything from a txt file like:

1- Create a boolean md field in FCSRV called "EXPORT Annotations" (don`t choose lookup)
2- add or create a md group called "Export Annotations" and add the above md field to it (don`t choose lookup)
3- Add "Export Annotations" md field to Asset Filter md group
4- Make a Response for Running external command. Command path: /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Server/Final Cut Server.bundle/Contents/Resources/sbin/fcsvr_run
Command Parameters: psql px pxdb -c 'SELECT pxmdvalue.value AS Asset_NAME, pxtcmdvalue.value, pxtcmdvalue.begintc, pxtcmdvalue.endtc FROM pxmdvalue INNER JOIN pxtcmdvalue ON pxmdvalue.entityid = pxtcmdvalue.entityid WHERE pxmdvalue.value=[FileName];' > ~/Desktop/ann-out.txt

6- Add exporting annotations md group to Media md set.
In theory it`s possible to modify the FinalCutServerIntegrationSample get and input annotations instead of adding another "comment" field to md group list.
