Inquiries regarding iPhone STK

Inquiries regarding iPhone STK
Hello All,
There are few issue encounter for using iPhone STK, I will list out the potential issue found along using the STK:
1) STK command “Get Input” instructions
While “Get Input” command being instructed in a very short period of time (Approximately in less than 1s), iPhone will automatically reply to the “Terminal Response” and “Terminal Response” value will be 0X12- No Response from User.
This “Get Response” timer is way too short. Possible to take a look and modify the commands?
2) STK command sends DTMF Instruction
While power on the iPhone; it can only send successful 4 times DTMF command, the fifth and subsequent DTMF command will be unsuccessful. iPhone require manually power on/off again in order to send 4 times DTMF command in this cycle.
Require kind assistant to take a look on this issue.
3) STK command in the setup call instruction
While power on the iPhone, “Setup Call” instruction able to execute within 11 times. Subsequence the 12th time “Setup Call” execution will be failed and unsuccessful.
Proceed with Power on/off cycle will be having the same successful 11th Setup Call and the unsuccessful 12th attempts on the Setup Call.
Highly appreciated that Apple Program Engineers or expertise able to take a look in to this matter in Singapore.
Thanks
Best Regards,

The iPhone already supports Arabic for sending, receiving, and the user interface.  What problem are you having exactly?

  • Simple inquiries regarding keylock and security.

    Hi,
I recently bought a Nokia phone, I first read the whole manual which comes with the product 3 times and I’m still discovering the phone but I still have few inquiries regarding keylock and security which the showroom didn’t mention.
To lock the keypad to prevent accidental or unwanted keypresses, I select Menu key then *, while for unlocking, the same step is required along with providing the lockcode which I already set in Menu > Settings > Phone > Security keyguard. Nothing easy then this :robothappy:
Here are detailed questions as per guidelines.
    A) Question here is: what are the differences between “Menu > Settings > Phone > Security keyguard” and “Menu > Settings > Security > Access codes > Change security code”??
after reading the manual, I now know that “phone > Security keyguard” is to simply lock the keypad with a security code decided here too, but what about “access codes > Change Security Code”? is it the same as “Security keyguard” (i.e. lock keypad with a code)? are they of any relation to each others?
In other words: I know when “Security keyguard” is required (lock keypad with a code), but what are the cases when “security code” is required?
    B) in “Security keyguard”, each time (that’s always) when we want to lock the phone (i.e set Security keyguard to ON) we are automatically prompted to set a password to be able to lock the phone (I’m 100% sure of this). So what is code 12345 useful for while we are always prompted to type a password each time we set the keyguard on! I’m afraid it’s not that clear in the manual. In other words When might this 12345 be used?
Is it used to unlock keypad for example, maybe no! because as I said each time we want to lock the phone with keyguard we’re prompted to set a code.
oh and how to change 12345 that’s if it’s of any use anyway?
I’m a newbie in mobile phones’ matters, so bare with my silly questions but I really don’t want to deteriorate the mobile phone now in holidays when careline is out of service.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

thanks to areef_apu i noticed the relation between “Security keyguard” and “Change security code” you said that the “Security code”12345 is used for “Keyguard security”!! wow that’s right. I got this wrong in my question since while I was learning about and activating“Security keyguard” it seems that I was accidentally using the code 12345 without any intention, which made me confused thinking that “security keyguard” code is decided at the same time while setting “security keyguard” while I didn’t know that I was actually telling it the already set security code and not typing a new one here!
So “Menu > Settings > Phone > Security keyguard” is really related to “Menu > Settings > Security > Access codes > Change security code”. Simply said, for keypad lock, the screen asking us to type a code while activating the “Security keyguard” is Not asking us to decide a New code but it’s actually asking us the code already set in “Access codes > Change security code”. that’s the relation.
Thanks so much to both cjlim and areef_apu +1 Kudos point each this now makes sense for other newbies reading this since I’m newbie myself.

Obviously the iPhone was/is not unlocked or this would not be required, and there is your answer, which can take up to two weeks.

  • Regarding iPhone link up with Mac book, am i charged by my cell company even if i am on wifi?

    Hi there!
Regarding iPhone link up with Mac book, am i charged by my cell company even if i am on wifi?
I ask because i travel to europe often, and need to get a phone there.. this would save me a whole lot of money and hastle
    Thank you

Streaming will be faster from the new iMac.  However it is still a good idea to keep the bulk of your material, 400 GB is a lot of content, on external drives.  That serves to protect the material if an internal drive fails, and also keeps the internal drive from getting too loaded down.  You can increase speed by simply moving content you want to use in the short term to the iMac SSD where it will be at its fastest speed, and then take it off when no longer needed there.
That gives the speed and security for your material.

  • Message from Apple regarding IPHONE 5 Optimization

I have just received the following messege from Apple after successfully updating our app from a standalone app to a newsstand app. Although our app update got approved and is now live, I am not sure if this has any impact on the live newsstand app ?
    Dear developer,

iPhone 5 Optimization Requirement - Your binary is not optimized for iPhone 5. As of May 1, all new iPhone apps and app updates submitted must support the 4-inch display on iPhone 5. • Question regarding iphone and charger

    Hello,
I have a scenario and 2 questions I would like to ask you
    Scenario:
Iphone with 100% charged battery, iphone is still connected to laptop USB or wall power socket.
    True or False:
    a) the iphone draws power directly from the charger, the battery does not supply power to the iphone until the charger is disconnected.
    b) the iphone draws power from the battery --> the battery draws power from the charger (laptop or wall)
    Thanks in advance
    Bogdan

The Apple hardware, iOS devices and MacBook Pros, charge until the battery reaches 100%.  At that point the charging circuit shutsdown and the device operates on line or external power until the charge level drops to 93-95% by normal trickle down.  At that point the charging circuit switches to charge the battery.
So, as long as you are not charging the battery, and still plugged in, the device will run off line power.

  • Need Desperate Help Regarding iPhone 4 Sync Issue (PC, Win7)

I'll attempt to make this question as concise and fully informative as possible. I have an iPhone 4 Jailbroken running firmware v4.3.3. I typically sync my phone with my PC on a normal basis until this past October I bought a new SSD and had to re-install iTunes on my C drive. As you know, a re-install means that any re-sync with a fresh iTunes install means that the phone will basically wiped clean. Since the new iTunes install I have regularly been "Backing Up" the iPhone,(but never synced it) however this is not a "Sync" of course, but I figure it still beneficial to do. I believe I have the following options and/or issues to deal with:
    1) Is there any way to "reverse-sync" the iPhone to the PC, instead of the other way around? I kept the old iTunes operating files but I am not sure which ones I'd need to copy over to which folder to make a "current" sync happen, or to "fool" iTunes into thinking nothing has changed since the fresh install.
    2) I realize a "restore" will erase the jailbreak, but what if I choose "Restore From Backup", will that also erase or reset the jailbreak?
    3) I am mainly concerned with calendar appointments, my apps with invaluable information, and notes. Everything else such as music I can simply re-sync if I have to.
In essence, I am trying to do a up-to-date sync with the new iTunes install and loose as little data and information as possible (or none at all). I have apps installed such as iFile that hold many files within the folder tree structure of the phone that I cannot afford to loose. I'd be willing to make backup copies of all these files if there is a viable solution for me, which Im hoping somebody can recommend to me.
If there is a special app or PC app that I need to make things run smoother or achieve my goal I am more than happy to install whatever it takes. Thank you for any responses, they are most appreciated.
I have attempted to be as detailed yet brief as possible with my explanation of the nature of my problem, yet feel free to ask a question if it will assist you in further diagnosing and solving my issue.

Let's say I, at this very moment, "Backup" my phone in iTunes.  Once finished, I immediately perform a "Restore from Backup"
There will be no change in your phone, assuming you didn't change anything or receive any messages between backing up and restoring the backup.  The phone will have exactly the content of what was in the backup.
will iTunes have imported all saved phone data into its registry?
It saves phone and app settings, messages, visual voicemail, contacts, Camera Roll, app data.
such as apps, music, etc., since, remember, nothing is there now.  I need to put phone contents on the PC rather than the other way around
No!!!!!   iTunes Store content (apps, music, media) is synced to and from iTunes - it's not in the backup. If you never synced your phone with this computer before, the first sync is  unidirectional from the computer to phone.  If there's nothing in the iTunes library now, what's in your phone will get deleted. In this case, you have to first "Transfer Purchases"  To do this:
    1. Be sure that automatic syncing on connection is disabled in iTunes Prefs > Devices > Disable.....
    2. Connect phone with iTunes open.
    3. Right-click the device tab on left border of iTunes window.
    4. Select "Transfer Purchases."  Note that any music/media on the phone that was not originally obtained from the iTunes Store will not transfer to the computer.
It's now safe to sync the phone.  Note that when you select "Sync" on the iTunes page, the phone is typically backed up as well, if you didn't set it up to backup to iCloud instead.

  • Still got questions regarding iPhone 4 signal.?

Ok buying a new iPhone tomorrow, currently, have the 3GS, which am quiet happy with, but am in a complex situation, with vodafone uk, wereby, I need to decide within 7 days, whether to choose an iPhone 4 or something else. Now the only worry I have is the signal of the iPhone, which I have come to get used to on my 3GS, and can live with it, cause I bought the handset cheaper, however the iPhone is going to cost me at least a thousand pounds in contract for 2 years, so want to make the right descision. So like I have said, having read a lot of info and it appears, thez, not much difference, in terms, of the signal, between, the 3GS and iPhone 4. Intact most are actually claiming better signal, on the 3GS. So is this the case, please please, help me out, with this answer, as I desperately, need to make a descision, on whether or not to stay, on my 3GS, based on signal.

    marvi0
Well, I guess I am here because of my negative feelings toward the iPhone 4. I agree with the comments already made, but that's not the complete story. Last week I returned 2 iPhone 4 because of reception problems. As stated by myself and others you must have a strong enough signal or be using a case/bumper else you will have reception problems.
If you purchase the iPhone 4 and find you are having reception problems you can call Apple Support. One of the first questions they ask you is wether or not you are using a case or bumper?
Other than that the iPhone 4 is fantastic!
I really wish that consumers were not so willing to work around this issue with a case or bumper. This only helps discourage Apple from ever really fixing the problem. Its looking more and more like I may have to wait for the iPhone 5.

  • Is there way to report a bug to Apple regarding iphone software

My Iphone 3GS used to work perfectly with my mercedes car kit after the fixes done in 4.1.1 but now when I use it after upgrading(downgrading) to 4.3 it no longer allows me to close a call from the controls in my car. I have seen that other people have the exact same problem, but dont know if Apple are aware of this so how do I let thm know without having to pay for support to register a fault in their product

Only developers can use the bug reporter. Use this:

  • Email reply from ATT regarding IPhone upgrades

I finally got a long email back from ATT. Most of it was the same rhetoric thats in their fine print. Here is part of the email from the man who emailed me back. Does that mean we are basically screwed? I went on my account info to check pricing for the 3GS and it gives me 399 and 499$!! I think I'll pass on that!
Only existing AT&T postpaid wireless customers with an active account in
good standing can purchase iPhone 3G S at the no-commitment price. A
government-issued photo ID with matching account information as well as
credit card information (if applicable) must be validated. All sales at
the no-commitment price must be associated with a mobile number,
including those purchased as a gift. The no-commitment price is limited
to one per mobile number per lifetime. Data plan for iPhone is required
for the life of a customer?s iPhone service on AT&T?s network.

    Onegoal wrote:
So will they come out with yet another Iphone 3g next year? Seems kinda silly for them to come out with another Iphone next year if it will still be 3g.
Considering 3G is the current standard, if another phone comes out next year, it will still use the 3G network. For years, people have been using the Edge network and every year or less, cell companies are coming out with new models.
I thought Apple was supposed to make a smaller Iphone similar to the Ipod Nano.
    This was the rumor mill.

  • Regarding Iphone Adapter

    Hi
I have Bought an Iphone 5S from US while i was on holiday.
When i got back i realise that the adapter was the US Adapter
Is it possible to exchange for an Australia Adapter or somehow getting one?
    Thanks in advance

you could just go on to ebay or amazon and buy a new charger but that will mean wating but you can also go into some electronic shps and ask if they have any but i dout they would so your best chance of getting a charger will be amazon

  • I just had a thought regarding iPhone theft...

If an iPhone is stolen and then shut off, it cannot be tracked anymore using "Find My iPhone".
What if there had to be a password (same or different from lock screen) that had to be inputted to allow the iPhone to be shut off.
Another idea would be to enable the iPhone to still be tracked even though it's powered off. Obviously this would have some battery drain while it was off, but I'm just spitting out my thoughts...

2 things come to mind immediately in the way of guesses as to why something like this hasn't been implemented.
#1: The iPhone, like any computing device, can suffer any number of problems that can cause it to hang, freeze, or become unresponsive.
Imagine what things would be like if a Windows PC had to be taken in to the shop every time it stopped responding to the keyboard and mouse because you couldn't enter the required password to shut it down (we'll pretend they have their own, non-removable power supplies for this thought experiment).
#2: The inability to power down an electronic device in the event that you can not enter a password creates an unacceptable safety hazard and the device would likely not be approved for sale in most countries.

  • Regarding Iphone 5 : won't switch on or charge

Since i got my iphone 5 in october it has deteriorated, from originally the battery life only giving me two hour user time maximum and now it is non responsive, it wont switch on but flashes the apple sign on and off while plugged in.
Would really appreciate the help, thanks.

Thanks, made an appointment for Wednesday
